Chapter 691.
"Luan and her driving lessons."

(September 28. Royal Woods High School.)

The school day is over, and right now we go to Luan, the comedian of the family and former feared prankster and right now she seems pretty uneasy and she looks to her phone and the date that has been marked.

'Alright, calm down Luan. Today is the day, I have been doing all of my studying, and today is the day when I need to take my driving lessons and see if what I have learned is gonna work, and I have been doing my hardest to study as hard as I can, and even with Lily in the same room asking for someone to play with her.'

'Then, the other day…. Jessica Carson was helping teach me to drive around the neighborhood and she trusted me with her car being the testing vehicle and… I did it. I didn't make a mistake and I didn't hit anything, but this is the real deal and Jessica Carson is not gonna be there for me.'

'Dang it, what the heck am I gonna do now?' She then walks down the halls, but then someone walks by her side. "Luna? What are you still doing here in school?"

Luna continues to walk with her little sister. "Well, I have to bring you to the DMV, because you won't get there faster on a unicycle. Also, chances Lynn is waiting for us at the car too, remember we're all gonna be there to wait for you for when you pass. Right?"

Luan recalls and then she nods and she tries to sport a smile. "Y-Yeah, okay. Got it, that does sound nice, sorry I just forgot and…" She then sees the concerned look from Luna, and so Luan tells her. "Alright fine. I am nervous and I shouldn't be, I have changed and I am always brave when going on stage."

"I mean, everything seemed well when Jessica Carson tested me, and then she tested me with driving, the actual one and I was nervous, but then she told me to calm down and I didn't make a mistake… Well, I was close to making one, and thankfully it never happened."

Luna can see how much this feels for Luan and so she talks to her. "Luan, calm down and take a deep breath." Luan does so, and she's calm. "Now, sis. Listen, you don't have to be so nervous about this, it may be hard to do the actual drive, but you get the hang of it and that fear goes away."

"You are facing a form of stage fright, but in vehicle mode, and from what I do recall, Luan Loud is not the stage fright kinda gal and you build up the courage you need to make sure you can get out there and make everyone laugh, and you can get out there, get on the wheel and make sure you can ace being a dang good driver."

"I went through the same thing, but I got the motivation when I recalled the times I was nervous on stage to perform my rock n' roll songs and music, but I got over it and used that to motivate me that I can ace the driving test… That and Lincoln, he's another reason for motivation, he's my little brother and we all love him."

"Luan, you need to use your skills and traits of facing the crowd to try and make the road less of an obstacle and more of a friend, just be calm, stay calm and focus, and be aware, plus a thousand of other stuff, but I think you know what those are, right Luan?"

Luan smiles and she looks to her older sister. "Yeah, yeah. You're right, wow thanks sis. Also, this is helping me, I don't think I feel nervous anymore!"

Luna chuckles. "Glad to know, now come on. You got a driver's test to ace, both written and the actual thing." They both leave the school and they head to Luna's car and Lynn Jr is waiting for them with her soccer ball.

"Hey, girls. We should head out now, Lincoln sent me a text that he's headed there with Jordan and her parents, and that means we should get there too."

Luna nods and she uses her car keys and this turns off the alarm and Lynn Jr goes into the passenger's seat and Luna and Luan hop in next, and then Luna drives off to the DMV.

Luan should feel nervous, but then she recalls the words from her big sister and her nervousness is all gone. 'Wow. Luna's advice does work, true motivation and using my own skills and traits, along with being calm and aware. This is… Wow, Luna has become the true older sister of the family.'

'Lori and Leni would be dang proud of her, and even though those two aren't here, they'd be proud of me in getting my driver's license and through that, we'll be the main four with rides. It's gonna be awesome when I drive, and I am so going to ace this!'

Then she recalls something. 'Wait, soon when net year comes, Luna will graduate, and that leaves me to be in charge, but Lincoln will be there to help. Which also means, I gotta step up, and I shall to make sure that I will uphold the sacred charge of the eldest in the siblings.'

Luan smirks a little. 'Gonna be weird with me being the one to make the sibling meetings, but chances Lincoln would be doing that, after all… He takes the responsibility stuff from looking up to Luna, and their sibling bond is strong and eternal, and I know that even with Luna gone, Lincoln will be fine and he won't undergo a dark and depressed state, that's for sure.'

They continue onward to their destination, because it's time for Luan Loud to earn her driver's license and grow up.

(Later in the day, the Royal Woods DMV.)

All of the louds are all waiting outside and they await for the return of Luan, they let her go inside and they are hoping she would pass, and Luna sits close to her brother, Lincoln and also Jordan. She then looks to the others and she can see panic in the eyes of Lynn Sr.

Luna sighs. "Dad, calm down. Luan's got this. She studied hard, and I know she passed the written exam, and surely she can ace the drivers actual exam, and from the driving advice and skills from Jessica Carson."

Jessica Carson is there and she nods. "She's not wrong. Luan did an awesome job when we tested using my own car, and she didn't hit anything. She was awesome and she obeyed the traffic rules, and turned on the blinkers."

Lynn Sr sighs. "Sorry, it's just… When I was teaching Lori, she was having a hard time, and then came Leni and things became worse, but then they progresses and didn't need me, and Luna didn't even need me for her driving, and now Luan too."

Lisa then asks. "Father, are you concerned about not doing well in teaching the older siblings into things they need when they grow up even further?"

This makes the others look to the man, and so Luna, Lynn Jr and Lincoln cross their arms and look to their father sternly. Lynn Sr sighs. "Yeah, alright. I admit it, I am a bit… Well, really upset that you kids won't need me to teach you some stuff, and one of them is being grown up."

Lincoln sighs. "Dad, I had to be a grownup several times, and that was even before I met Jordan. Recall who had to help watch over the others, and even the older sisters to make sure there was no chaos?" He doesn't mention anything else, otherwise it'd be too much for the others to start questioning.

Luna sighs and looks to them sternly. "They have a point, and I managed to wake up a part of me who has been missing, and locked up for a long, long time and now I am being responsible and keeping track of everything, like a grownup and now I am changing to be even more responsible. Like a parent would."

Lynn Jr then speaks. "I used to be reckless, a lot. Also very competitive, but now I have changed, and though I am kinda rough, I gotta try and step up to help Luan when Luna ain't around. Heck, I gotta be the big sister the others can rely on, or the adult of the group when the time needs it."

Rita goes over to her husband and she places a hand on his shoulder. "Honey, they're right. Let them be their own person, and that goes for the little ones too. Lucy will be next to take the responsible task, and she's already doing it, and soon the others will follow until Lisa is left."

Lucy nods and so does Lisa. Lucy keeps an eye on the younger sisters at Elementary School and Lisa is smart, and her heartless persona is gone, and she's showing signs that she truly does care for her family, especially her baby sister, Lily.

Lynn Sr knows his wife is right, he can't be teaching them everything they need to know to grow up, they will learn it on their own as they're lives progress, but he knows the reason why he's upset is because his kids are growing up, and leaving the house, and he had to say goodbye to his two daughters, and seven eagles.

Lynn Sr sighs. "Yeah sorry I just…."

Then they see Luan come out of the DMV, and she seems upset and the cop who was her driving instructor seems super miffed, and they didn't like where this is going and the duo walk towards them, Luan being sad, and the instructor/cop who is very intimidating.

Rita then asks. "Sir, what happened?"

The officer then speaks in a strict voice. "What happened? What happened?!" They all cringe at his anger, and Lincoln pulls Lincoln and Jordan close to her, while Jessica covers Angels' ears. "I'll tell you all what happened….. Luan Loud, passed!"

All of their fears are gone, and are now confused. "Wait, what?"

Then they look to Luan who snickers, and then she laughs. "Nailed it!" She then shows them her driver's license and she does a cute look as she twirls her ponytail with her right finger. This makes them gasp and look to Luan.

The cop chuckles. "We got them good kid, but all seriousness, she did pretty well. No screw ups and she even stuck the parallel parking dang good, and bonus, she avoided a pigeon that was about to poop on the car!"

Luan chuckles. "Pure instinct, and sorry for pranking you guys. I talked to the instructor and he was alright to be part of it, and we nailed it good!"

"I can nail a pretty angry face, which I use when I get disappointed and yell at terrible drivers." The officer then walks away and chuckles, they did that prank good.

Luan then looks to the others. "Well, are we gonna celebrate or what?" they all cheer and they head into Vanzilla and their other rides, and then Luan cheers. "Today my driver's license, and soon, a car!"

Lynn Sr is frozen stiff hearing that, and Rita looks to her husband. Oh boy."

Then Lynn Jr cheers. "Congrats Luan, soon I'll be next!"

Lynn Sr goes wide eyed and he lands his face onto the wheel and vanzilla honks steadily, and the others notice this. Rita sighs. "Well, looks like we're going somewhere else to eat, and I'm driving."
