Before the Princess Festival
One day the trio were staying at their house. Selina was counting her money because the princess festival was near. Selina remembered what the princess festival was like and she couldn't wait to look at the bargains and sales for clothes, accessories and such. She had saved up a lot of money by now. "That day is going to be fun," said Selina "especially when I win the pokemon princess doll set". Selina liked the doll set from the princess vs princess episode and she wanted it. "I think I better train some of my pokemon before that day comes".
Outside James was getting acquainted with his newest pokemon Weepinbell. He caught it in the wild after the trio helped Officer Jenny with Keith. "Happy with your Weepinbell there James?" asked Selina; she had just come outside. "Of course I always wanted a Weepinbell" said James. "Remember to fully train it before you decide to evolve it to Victreebel" said Selina. "I will" said James.
Meanwhile Meowth was training his claws and teeth with some sticks. "Good to see you are keeping up with your training Meowth" said Selina. "I am going to make myself even stronger so I will show everyone who is top cat around here" said Meowth. "Do be careful otherwise you may evolve into a Persian" said Selina. "I have an everstone with me so that won't happen" said Meowth. He didn't want to evolve. "Hey Jessie when we saw those kids egg hatched into a Togepi, why didn't we nab it?" "I already told you Meowth;" sighed Selina "the boss doesn't like cute sappy pokemon like Togepi. Besides what usefulness would a Togepi bring to Team Rocket?" "Fine" said Meowth. The story is Selina wanted to see Togepi hatch, so she and James and Meowth spied on the gang to wait for Togepi to hatch after the Farfetch'd thing happened.
Selina called out Zubat, Jigglypuff and her newest pokemon member Ivysaur. Selina caught a wild Ivysaur near the same time James caught his Weepinbell. They heard the stories about the mysterious garden where Bulbasaur and Ivysaur go to evolve from Nurse Joy at a pokemon center. (The one from the Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden episode) Of course James and Meowth wanted to go there to grab all the Bulbasaur and Ivysaur, bet Selina reminded them that headquarters already had Bulbasaur and its evolutionary line. She also told them the boss also had Charmander and its evolutionary line and Squirtle and its evolutionary line. But Selina wanted to catch an Ivysaur for herself. So what she did was wait for the Ivysaur to come out of the garden after they evolve and catch one as soon as they came out.
"Okay Zubat, Jigglypuff and Ivysaur we are going to do some training today" Selina said. Ivysaur liked hearing that because it did like to battle. Jigglypuff was quite a good battler too. "Jigglypuff I want you to practice your moves I taught you on those pile of sticks over there" said Selina, pointing to a pile of sticks near a tree. Selina had taught Jigglypuff the TM moves; mega punch, mega kick, psychic, ice beam, water gun, rage, thunderbolt, teleport, mimic, double team, bide and tri attack. "Zubat and Ivysaur, I want you two to battle each other". While Jigglypuff practiced her moves, Ivysaur and Zubat started battling each other. "You sure seem to be in real training mode today Jessie" said James. "Truth is James I want Zubat to evolve and there will be two tournaments later that I want to win". "What tournaments?" asked James. "I'll explain another time, right now I need to concentrate with my training" said Selina. "Oh okay" replied James.
Selina trained Jigglypuff, Ivysaur and Zubat until Zubat finally evolved into a Golbat. 'I think I'm ready now' she thought. She was looking forward to the princess festival
I was going to have James catch an Bulbasaur, but changed my mind. But he'll get some grass starter pokemon in later regions.
