Chapter 14
"No." came the voice of Jiraiya of the Sannin.
"But Jiraiya-sama you are the last remaining student of the late Sandaime Hokage, it must be you." came the voice of Koharu, one of the three councilors of Konoha.
"If you want one of Hiruzen-sensei's students, get Tsunade-hime." Jiraiya argued.
"But Tsunade is no longer loyal to Konoha." came the voice of another counselor.
"She may have left the village and retired from Shinobi life but I can convince her to return to Konoha and be Hokage." Jiraiya declared.
"How do you plan to do that?" asked Danzo Shimura.

Naruto was walking down the streets of Konoha her mind was racing with a million questions to which she had zero answers to. As she was walking an Anbu dropped down in front of her kneeling with their head bowed.
"Uzumaki-san, you have been requested at the Hokage Tower by Jiraiya-sama." the Anbu said.
"I'm on my way." Naruto said looking at the Hokage Monument for just a second.
"With all due respect Uzumaki-san I have been requested to bring you there myself." the Anbu explained.
"Fine, take me there." Naruto said not arguing further.
The Anbu rose to a standing position and grabbed onto Naruto and in a blink of an eye they were in the Hokage's Office. Naruto looked around the office and saw Shimura Danzo, Jiraiya, and Nara Shikaku.
"Ah Naruto, you're here good." Jiraiya said with a smile on his face.
"Why was I summoned to the Hokage's Office?" Naruto asked.
"You and I are going on a mission to find the next Hokage. It's up to you and I to find her and get her to return to Konoha and agree to be Hokage." Jiraiya explained.
"Who are we looking for?" Naruto asked.
"Senju Tsunade." Shikaku replied.
"Why am I going?" Naruto questioned.
"For training and to help convince Tsunade-hime to become Hokage." Jiraiya explained.
"Why would Tsunade care what I have to say?" Naruto asked.
"Well there are a couple reasons really. One is because you're an Uzumaki and related to her through her grandmother Uzumaki Mito. Secondly is because you're the daughter of Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Kushina. And lastly is because of how you view the position of the Hokage." Jiraiya explained.
"Why would Tsunade care about my heritage?" Naruto questioned further.
"Because you are an Uzumaki you are related to her grandmother Mito, both Mito and your mother were from the main branch of the Uzumaki Clan. Tsunade was close to your mother and when your mother was killed by the Kyubi, Tsunade took it hard." Jiraiya explained to his young protege.
"And what kind of training are we going to do?" Naruto asked.
"I'm going to teach you one of your father's signature Jutsu. Your father was famed for two jutsu, the Hiraishin and the Rasengan." Jiraiya explained. "The Hiraishin was what dubbed him the Yellow Flash of Konoha. In the future I plan to teach you Fuinjutsu and teach you the Hiraishin but first I am going to teach you the Rasengan."
"Alright I'll go get my go bag and get ready to head out." Naruto said. "I should also tell my team I'm heading out on a mission as well."
"I'll handle your team Naruto." Shikaku said. "Until a new Hokage is appointed I'm in charge of the teams and issuing missions."
"Go get your go bag and meet me at the main gate in an hour." Jiraiya instructed.
"Got it Ero-sennin." Naruto said as she turned to walk out of the office.
Once Naruto had left the office Shikaku looked to Jiraiya. "Ero-sennin?"
"She isn't fond of my research for my novels so she calls me pervy sage." Jiraiya explained.
"I see."

As Naruto was walking to her apartment to get her go bag she ran into Ino.
"Oh hey Naruto how are you?" Ino asked.
"Hey Ino. I guess I'm alright still recovering from the loss of Hokage-jiji but I'm getting there." Naruto said.
"Yea losing family is never easy." Ino said understandingly. "Hey If you ever need anything just come over ok. Hey you want to go get some ramen that will make you feel better i bet."
"I can't, I'm leaving on a mission with Ero-sennin." Naruto explained. "But maybe we can get a meal when I get back."
Naruto didn't want to admit it but she genuinely had feelings for Ino but she was scared to express those feelings.
"Sounds like a date." Ino said teasingly.
'If you only knew Ino.' Naruto thought to herself.
Naruto left Ino and continued on to her apartment. Once in her apartement Naruto grabbed her go bag from it's place by the door and headed to her room to pack her clothes. Naruto never packed her clothes ahead of time because she never knew what was going to be needed from mission to mission despite using scrolls to store her clothes on missions she still needed to know what to pack.
Since Naruto didn't know what this mission would entail she packed her standard uniform and a few kimonos for seduction purposes, not many guys could resist a pretty girl when the girl is interested in them. Naruto finished packing her clothes and headed for her door looking out her window she could clearly see the Hokage Monument she focused her attention on the Sandaime and Yondaime, her heroes. Turning away from the monument she walked out her door and walked to the main gate of Konoha.
When Naruto arrived at the main gate she saw Jiraiya waiting for her.
"Ready gaki?" Jiraiya asked his protege.
"As ready as I'll ever be." Naruto replied.
"Then let's get under way." Jiraiya said

Come nightfall Naruto and Jiraiya reached a small town and were planning to stop for the night when they walked into the hotel they were greeted by the clerk who got them checked into their rooms. Once they got checked in, two women came up to Jiraiya and began to get adventurous with him. Naruto smelled a trap right away but she said nothing for the moment.
While Jiraiya went to his room with the women, Naruto went to her room which was right next to Jiraiya's. Naruto was about to take a shower when a knock came to her door. Naruto walked to her door and opened it, once she opened the door she was met with a tall man in a black cloak with red clouds.
"May I come in?" the man asked.
As soon as Naruto heard the man's voice she knew instantly it was Itachi.
"Why should I let you into my room?" Naruto asked.
"I need to talk to you without unfriendly ears listening." Itachi said. "My partner is under a genjutsu right now and Jiraiya is otherwise occupied with my distraction. Please we must speak privately."
Naruto stepped to the side of her door to let Itachi into her room.
"Fine but don't try anything funny." Naruto said.
"Trust me that's not on my mind." Itachi said plainly.
Once Itachi was fully inside Naruto's room Naruto closed the door and walked over to sit on one of the floor pillows by a small table in the room and motioned for Itachi to sit across from her.
"So what is so important that you need to talk to me privately." Naruto asked.
Before itachi sat down he placed a seal on the wall and activated it with chakra.
"The reason is simple really. I want to give you something." Itachi replied to the young kunoichi.
"And what is it you want to give me?" Naruto asked.
"I want to give you the Sharingan Eye. The eye I want to give you belonged to my closest friend, Uchiha Shisui. He believed in peace like you do. The Sharingan will also let you see everything on the battlefield at any given time you will never be caught off guard while the sharingan is revealed. However I must warn you that since you are not an Uchiha you will pay higher chakra costs but with your heritage and guest in your seal I don't think that will be an issue for you." Itachi explained.
"Why do you want to give me your clan's birthright?" Naruto wondered if she could trust Itachi.
"Because you want to protect Konoha and everyone in it. I too want to protect Konoha. That's why I want to give my friend's eye because with it you can always protect Konoha." Itachi replied.
"What do I need to do?" Naruto asked.
"Trust me. I am going to put you to sleep then implant the eye into your left eye socket." Itachi replied.
"What about my eye that's already in there?" Naruto asked.
"I will remove it and destroy it but you won't feel anything. Now look into my eyes." Itachi explained and instructed.
Naruto looked Itachi in the eye and was instantly put under a genjutsu forcing her into a deep sleep. When Naruto came to Itachi was gone and Naruto could feel an eye patch on her head covering her left eye. Naruto rose from her bed and went into the bathroom where there was a mirror. Once in the bathroom Naruto lifted the eye patch and saw a single red eye with three black tomoe around the pupil.
Another knock came to Naruto's door, startling the young kunoichi. Naruto pulled the eyepatch down over her left eye and went to answer the door. Opening the door once more she saw Jiraiya standing there. When Naruto opened the door she made eye contact with Jiraiya who instantly saw the patch.
"What's with the eyepatch trying to go pirate on me?" Jiraiya asked.
"It's a gift from Itachi." Naruto said plainly.
"What do you mean gift?" Jiraiya questioned.
Naruto lifted the eye patch and opened her left eye revealing her new sharingan eye.
"I see." Jiraiya said seriously. "We'll have to get Kakashi to train you how to use the sharingan properly. That being said, it will give an advantage with your shunshin as you will be able to see everything on the battlefield without tunnel vision."
"Yea and this will really make me popular with the council since I got it from a known traitor to the village." Naruto said sarcastically.
"Sasuke will also be a problem since he hates Itachi." Jiraiya pointed out.
"Yea that will go over well." Naruto agreed.
"I should also tell you now that the sharingan will copy any jutsu you see though you will still have to train to use the jutsu effectively. And no I will not let you use your new sharingan to cheat in learning your father's jutsu." Jiraiya explained.
"I didn't plan to use it anyway, I would rather learn on my own." Naruto said honestly.
"Good now get some sleep, we start your training in the morning." Jiraiya said, returning to his room.
The next morning Naruto woke up and got ready for the day wearing her usual outfit and met Jiraiya outside. Jiraiya had a bag of water balloons beside him and one in his hand.
"Alright gaki time for the first part of your training making a water balloon pop with just your chakra." Jiraiya said. "The goal is to make your chakra rotate to get the balloon to pop."
Jiraiya focused his own chakra inside the balloon and caused it to pop.
Naruto grabbed a water balloon and focused her chakra into the balloon trying to get a feel of how to focus her chakra in her hand outside of her body. After a few tries she finally got a small ball of chakra in the palm of her hand. Trying to make the ball bigger she focused more chakra into her hand until it began to grow in size.
Once Naruto was pleased with the size of the ball in her hand she slowly began to try and rotate it inside the balloon. At first it was in a single direction but when the balloon didn't pop she stopped and thought for a minute. After a minute of thinking she reformed the chakra ball and this time tried to get the ball to rotate in as many directions as possible simultaneously, the balloon popped after a moment due to the strain from the rotations.
"Well done, it seems you're as smart as your old man." Jiraiya said proudly. "Alright it's already noon so let's get back on the road. I'll teach you the next step when we stop for the night."
"Alright Ero-sennin." Naruto said as she touched her eyepatch she was still getting used to seeing with only one eye.
"When we get back to Konoha you'll need to train with Kakashi with your new eye." Jiraiya said putting his hand on his goddaughter's shoulder.
"Yea I know but I also know that sooner or later I'm going to have to use this eye against an enemy whether I'm trained or not." Naruto said with a sigh.
"I understand Naruto, come let's get going." Jiraiya said.
After a long day of walking Naruto and Jiraiya stopped in another small town.
"Where are we going, Ero-sennin?" Naruto asked.
"Tanzaku Quarters. It's a big gambling hub which is sure to attract Tsunade." Jiraiya explained. "Tsunade-hime has an addiction to gambling, the only problem is she doesn't have very good luck and almost always loses her bets."
"I see." Naruto said plainly.
"Enough talk about our mission it's time to teach you the second phase of the Rasengan, power." Jiraiya said as he pulled out a rubber ball. "The first step was to teach you the rotation for the Rasengan now you will learn the power needed for it."
Jiraiya once again focused his chakra this time into the ball and caused it to rupture. After his demonstration Jiraiya tossed a ball to Naruto.
"I'm going to go do some research. We already have our rooms, just turn in and I'll see you in the morning." Jiraiya said turning to leave the area.
For the next few hours Naruto stood in the clearing with a ball in her hands, one hand palm up gripping the ball and the other hand palm down stabilizing the ball. At first Naruto focused on adding power to her chakra making it denser until finally it ruptured the ball. Naruto smiled as the ball ruptured but she wasn't done yet she grabbed another ball and began to focus again she did this several more times adding more and more power until she obliterated the ball.
After she got the results she walked through the town and began to look for a place to eat. Finding a small restaurant Naruto walked into the establishment and was greeted by a young woman and led to a small table in the back. After Naruto ordered her meal and ate, she returned to the hotel to get some rest.
Naruto had taken to sleeping with her eyepatch on to force her to keep her left eye closed whenever she woke up. She knew from what Itachi said that she wouldn't suffer from the same chakra fatigue as other non-Uchiha thanks to her unique chakra and being a jinchuriki but she still didn't want to see what her limit was if she didn't have to.
Come morning Naruto woke up in bed and sat up stretching her arms over her head stretching her back in the process. Naruto got out of bed and went into the bathroom to shower and get ready for the day. Once dressed Naruto walked out of her room and met Jiraiya in the lobby of the Hotel.
"So how far have you come with your training?" Jiraiya asked.
Naruto pulled out a ball and ruptured it.
"Good, you're ready for the third and final step of learning the Rasengan, containment." Jiraiya said as he pulled out an air filled balloon forming a perfect sphere inside the ball without rupturing the balloon. "The goal here is to make the Rasengan inside the balloon without rupturing the balloon. This is usually the hardest step in learning the Rasengan."
Jiraiya tossed the balloon to Naruto who caught it effortlessly.
"I don't expect you to master the rasengan today so don't get disheartened if you don't get it right away." Jiriaya said.
Naruto looked at the balloon in her hand and focused her chakra. She started with a small ball of chakra and began to make it rotate inside the balloon. She made the small ball of chakra rotate at max speed and saw the balloon explode from the strain.
"Ero-sennin can you show me what it's supposed to look like completed?" Naruto asked.
Jiraiya smirked, she finally asked him for help. "Sure gaki." Jiraiya said.
Jiraiya formed the Rasengan in his hand a perfect sphere about three inches in diameter and was a pale blue color. Naruto also noticed there was a shall surrounding the Rasengan.
Naruto then focused her chakra again, this time creating a shell for her Rasengan. With the shell inplace Naruto made her Rasengan starting out small and began to rotate her chakra the shell did it's job and protected the balloon from the force of the Rasengan. Naruto then began to add power to her Rsengan and watched it grow in size until it was the same size as her shell which continued to protect the balloon.
"Very good gaki you completed the Rasengan now make it without the balloon and attack that bolder over there." Jiraiya said pointing at a nearby boulder.
Naruto formed her Rasengan and charged the boulder. Once she reached the boulder she thrust her hand forward into the boulder and the boulder exploded.
"Congratulations gaki you now know your father's very own original jutsu." Jiraiya said proudly.
"Tousan created the Rasengan?" Naruto asked.
"Indeed he did but he never finished it. He intended to infuse his elemental chakra into the Rasengan but he died before he could complete it." Jiraiya explained.
"Then I'll complete it." Naruto said determined.
"I know you will." Jiraiya said smiling.
