Chapter 1: Arrival at Blackwood Park.

———————————————————————————

Autumn pressed her forehead against the cold, foggy window of the train. Her eyes followed the dark clouds as they danced across the sky. It didn't take long before it started to drizzle. The soft rain dripped down the glass, and the cold wind made its way through the cracks and whistled in her ears.

Autumn stared at her reflection. A young 15-year-old girl stared back. The dim light of the train revealed her champagne blond hair tied up in a messy bun.

Autumn's silver-gray eyes that always seemed to lit up in the dark were complemented by long thick eyelashes. Thanks to her small and thin complexion, she looked a lot younger than she actually was.

One thing that made her more unique than others was the fact that she could see into the future. This was something she had never told anyone.

Autumn tried to keep the visions from invading her mind, but unfortunately, she has no control over it. One moment Autumn is watching tv, and the next, she already knows that her favorite character will die.

Autumn stared into the distance, deep in thought. She was pulled back to reality when the sky lit up in a streak of bright white light followed by a loud rumbling.

A voice called out from the other side of the train car. "Ugh... When are we going to arrive! We have been in this stupid train for hours."

With a sigh, Autumn looked towards the source of the voice. Sitting on the other side of the train were her adoptive parents Karin and Herold and their biological son Jorge.

Jorge was nagging the entire way. The 12-year-old boy looked back at Autumn with a nasty glare. His chestnut brown eyes filled with both pride and boredom. Jorge looked back at his mother with an arrogant smirk and demanded that he use her phone to play a game. Karin patted him on his head, messing up his somewhat greasy toffee blond hair. "Mom, don't do that!"

Jorge looked back at his mother, who obviously was getting tired by her son's endless whining. With an almost tired voice, she replied. "We will get there in... 30 minutes. Just be patient, sweetie."

Autumn rolled her eyes and returned to looking at the rain outside the window. The tiny drops of water moved across the glass in endless patterns. It was quite mesmerizing.

While she stared at the rain, an image flashed through her mind.

——

Autumn looked up as the sky lit up once again. People screamed when the lights turned off, leaving the train in total darkness.

——

With a soft smile on her face, she thought to herself. (Lights out in 3... 2... 1.)

As if on cue, the sky flared up once again when a streak of lightning shot towards her rails. Some people screamed when the lights suddenly turned off, engulfing the train in total darkness.

After a couple of seconds, the dim yellow light flickered back on slowly. Karin looked back at her husband in irritation, who was watching a Netflix series on his phone. Harold was the type of guy who wouldn't even react to a bomb when focused on his phone.

The man looked up in confusion before pulling his hand through his thin black hair. Although he was sitting, Harold was constantly gasping for air as if he was exhausted. His firm body could almost not fit in the small seat of the train.

Jorge started yelling again. What an absolute nightmare. Autumn sighed and looked up to the dirty ceiling. Just above her seat was a small broken light flickering on and off. The smell of food, smoke, and body odor made her feel sick in her stomach.

Autumn's eyes fluttered as a wave of tiredness enticed her to go to sleep. Slowly the rumbling of the train and the many voices of its passengers faded into the background. As Autumn closed her eyes, a sequence of images flooded into her mind.

———

They were standing in front of a beautifully crafted dark wooden door. Karin was pulling all of her belongings out of her small leather purse. With an angry voice, she called out. "Where are those stupid keys. I'm positive that I put them in here somewhere."

They stood outside in the rain of 20 minutes before Harold suddenly called out. "Found them... Funny thing. They were in my pocket." Karin looked up furious and scolded her husband.

———

Suddenly the sound of a whistle shook Autumn awake. The train has finally reached its destination. Passengers of all shapes and sizes shuffled towards the exit doors. Karin, Harold, and Jorge had already grabbed their bags and were ready to leave. Harold turned around and started yelling. "Wake up, Autumn. We are here. If you don't wake up, we will leave without you." His voice sounded scuffed as if he had been a heavy smoker his entire life.

Still feeling tired, Autumn dragged herself from the train seat and pulled down her bag and umbrella from the iron luggage rack.

In a hurry, the four of them ran to the exit of the train. Autumn quickly pulled out her black umbrella and stepped outside. The station looked mostly deserted, with the exception of an occasional passenger running past them. The rain seemed to have only gotten worse since they left home.

The cold wind rushed against the bare trees as they walked towards the stairs. Just above the worn tiles, reflections danced across the surface. The ground now looked like a watery mirror.

Karin stopped by the side of a road and waved her hand at an incoming yellow cab. Harold grabbed the door handle, and the four of them squished inside. Karin called out to the driver. "Blackwood bungalow park, please."

Autumn turned up her head and looked at the large buildings in awe. Thanks to the rain, all the lights were reflected on the buildings and roads, creating a unique color palette that one could only see in the city.

While struggling to get some room in the car, she could hear and feel the vibrations of music somewhere in the distance. Colorful lights danced across the dark sky through the falling rain, presumably from a party or something.

It took them a whole hour to get to their destination. Jorge was poking her in the arm for the entire ride, trying to get her attention. Autumn, of course, ignored this and continued to stare outside as the scenery slowly turned from a bright, colorful city to a dark and quiet vacation park.

After paying the cab driver, they followed a stone pathway towards a small wooden cabin. It almost looked like something you would see in a horror movie.

The worn-out cabin sat on the far end of a mostly brown lawn, with a single stone path that made its way to the front door. The wood was silvered by the sun and covered in a thin layer of ice. One of the windows had a large crack in the glass.

Autumn looked around, feeling a little nervous. A dense white fog rested just above the cold ground, making it difficult to see where they were walking. It was dark outside, and the wind howled through the trees, making them shake uncontrollably. The cold winter weather made it almost unbearable to be outside for much longer.

Even in the dark, Autumn could see the frozen ivy climbing up on the side of the cabin all the way to the roof. A small light near the front door turned on, lighting up an old dark wooden door with the number 5 engraved in it.

Autumn looked at Karin, who threw all her belongings out of her small leather handbag because she couldn't find the key. "Where are those stupid keys. I'm positive that I put them in here somewhere."

Remembering her vision on the train, Autumn walked over to her adoptive father and pulled the keys out of his left pocket. Harold looked down in surprise. "How did that get in there?"

After inserting the key, the creaking wooden door opened slowly. They were immediately greeted by a musty smell that indicated the cabin had not been used for quite a while.

Slowly Autumn's hand reached for a small switch on the side of the wall. With a bright flash, the lights turned on, revealing the cabin's dusty interior. Autumn covered her poor eyes, who were still used to the dark.

The place looked quite lovely on the inside. Despite the outdated furniture and dark color palette, the room gave a warm feeling. Jorge pushed Autumn out of the way and ran upstairs towards the bedrooms while screaming. "I'm claiming the big bedroom!"

With a somewhat irritated look on her face, Autumn walked up the stairs. Compared to the living room, it was much darker and colder in the small hallway. There were four doors, three leading to a bedroom and one leading to a small bathroom.

Carefully Autumn opened the door at the end of the hallway. On the other side was a small semi-dark room with one thin glass window—the light of a nearby lantern cast long shadows on the wooden floor.

The room looked bare, and there wasn't much furniture except for a simple bed, closet, and desk. Cold winds sneaked through the thin glass. With every step Autumn took, the floor creaked underneath her feet.

She looked up to the ceiling and cringed when a giant wolf spider crawled towards her (Great... This place is filled with spiders.) With a sigh, Autumn put down her bag and stared at the wall thinking to herself.

(Why did I even agree to come here with them. I could have stayed home instead of going to some old cabin in a bungalow park. Ow well... I'll just have to make the best out of this trip.)

Time passed, and Autumn finished unpacking her things. With a sigh of relief, she let herself fall on the soft, comfortable bed. The bed was a bit dusty but overall okay. Slowly her eyes closed as she let everything around her drift away. The harsh sound of rain faded away into the background, and not long after, she fell into a deep sleep.

———————————————————————————

Autumn opened her eyes suddenly. Confused, she sat up straight in her bed and looked around. Then an agonizing cry echoed from outside in the distance.

Autumn froze up like a deer in headlights... She couldn't make out what it was. It sounded almost like a yelp of pain... or a woman in distress.

It was now the middle of the night... Autumn could hear the wind and rain smash violently against the window. Every creak or sound was amplified, like the cabin now had a mind of its own. She stared into the now completely dark and unfamiliar room.

Another horrifying cry echoed through the night. This time closer than before...

Autumn's breathing got faster as her neck began to sweat. She could feel her heart beating against her chest as she carefully moved to the side of the bed and stepped on the cold hardwood floor. As the floor underneath her feet creaked, the crying sound suddenly stopped. Autumn froze up again as if the silence made her more frightened than the cry did. She held her breath as a soft rustling sound moved closer from outside.

Then she heard it just outside her window. Whispering in a soft yet clear voice. "Help me... Somebody, please help me..."

Autumn did not dare to go near the window, let alone peek through the curtains. Something deep inside her mind was screaming at her to run away. As if the floor collapsed behind her, Autumn ran towards the door and slammed it behind her.

The sound of a pleading woman got closer and closer as if the cry echoed through her head. "Please... Somebody help me... is anybody there? "

For a split second, Autumn considered checking out the source of the cry. (What if it really is a woman who needs help.) This thought was immediately discarded when an image shot through her head of a hideous reptilian-like monster on four legs.

———

The monster opened its mouth with was filled with razor-sharp teeth. An indistinguishable cry from a frightened woman came out of it. "Please... somebody help me."

———

Autumn's legs gave in, and she let herself fall down to the cold floor. Her body shaking as she stared into the small dark hallway, trying her best not to start crying.

She swore that she could see shadows move across the ceiling, but her eyes could just be playing tricks on her. Suddenly the fearful cries stopped. All that could be heard now was the ticking of an old vintage wooden clock.

Seconds became minutes... Minutes became hours...

Autumn carefully opened the bedroom door and peeked inside. The room still looked the same as before. Dark, creepy, but overall normal.

Still feeling shaken up, she walked over to the bed very slowly. When the bed was only a few meters away, she jumped in as if her life depended on it. Autumn quickly glanced around the room one more time before pulling the cold blanket over her head as of it would keep her safe.

She tried to stay awake, but her eyes became heavier... and heavier. Until the tiredness finally won.

Thank you for reading this chapter. I'm still very new at writing stories, so any feedback will be appreciated. I love to learn.

I am a fan of SCP foundation, but I'm no expert. So I might get some details wrong.

And yes, my character has the ability of foresight. By the standards of the SCP foundation, she is definitely considered to be an anomaly. Though she is not dangerous or powerful in any way.

I'm not planning on making Autumn an op character, but foresight can be very helpful in many situations. Especially if she gets more control over it.

I know that SCP 187 also has foresight, but there are differences between Autumn's ability and double visions ability. I'm not sure yet if Autumn will ever meet SCP 187 because that might create a time loop or something.

I will focus more on Autumn as a character and her 'normal' life for the first two chapters. I am planning on getting her involved with the foundation around the beginning of chapter 3.
