The Normandy, Captained by a newly appointed Spectre Kaidan Alenko, becomes their home for the forseeable future. Kaidan has to try and battle with his past feelings. Garrus has to battle with keeping Shepard safe.

Set in an AU where the Geth came to Humanity's aide against the Turians during the First Contact War, Humanity takes a different path. But some things stay the same. Commander Shepard is put forward as the candidate for the Spectre program, he just happens to have an AI in his head. Humanity does not like Quarians, likes the Asari and Salarians and Anderson needs a drink. Or ten.

You can't keep a good man down. Corporal Richard L. Jenkins died on Eden Prime. That's what all the official reports say. However, Commander Shepard knows the truth is much more complicated, and skeletons don't always stay in the closet. With the geth attacking, Cerberus going rogue and Saren working to bring the Reapers back, Jenkins almost wishes he'd stayed dead.

HMS Isaac Newton and HMS Alexander Fleming open the Shanxi Relay. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move. The following course of events would lead to Humanity's first hot war in over a century, a war which could have exploded into full on Interspecies Total War, assuming of course the various human nations could even agree on anything.
