The following day buzzed with activity as the castle was filled with guests, the kitchen smelling of delicious food while maids attended to the ladies to help them get ready for the day. It was decided that everyone eat in their rooms for the morning as everyone got adjusted to the castle but would be required to eat in the dining area for dinner.
Sesshomaru looked out from his balcony pondering how to fix his situation with Kagome.
I should have known Hanako would make this kind of trouble and did not expect Kagome to believe what she saw so quickly. Maybe I do know the depths in which Inuyasha hurt the girl. Damn him.
With that last thought, he once again sought out advice from his half-brother.
To his luck, he sensed him walking back into the palace grounds, "Inuyasha!"
Inuyasha looked up, "What do you want now?"
"I must speak with you."
Inuyasha crossed his arms across his chest and studied him, "What did you do now?"
Taken back a little, Sesshomaru lost his composure, "What makes you think I did anything wrong?"
Inuyasha huffed, "because you would only ever come to me if you did something to make Kagome upset."
Sesshomaru looked at his half-brother, "Yeah, well, where were you last night?"
Inuyasha shook his head at him, "Way to change the subject, bro. Not that it is any of your business. I went to see Kikyo last night."
"Does Kagome know?"
"Yes, in fact, see sought out Kikyo last night." Inuyasha looked at his brother, feeling relieved not to be on Kagome's wrong side anyone, and was pleased that his brother was there instead.
"Why would she seek the dead one out?"
"Kikyo…Kikyo… not dead one or any other mean thing you can say about her or I'm not helping you." He knew he had a leg over his brother.
Sesshomaru rolled his eyes, "Fine…why would Kagome seek out Kikyo?"
"I guess in that encounter with Naraku, the slimy bastard mentioned something about her not being able to keep her family safe."
Sesshomaru looked shocked, "What? Why did she not tell me?"
Inuyasha shrugged his shoulders, "Momently lapsed, I guess with everything that was going on." He paused, "So what did you do?"
Keeping his posture upright but still looking defeated, "She took what she saw at face value without giving me a chance to explain…because of you!" He pointed at him.
Inuyasha's ears fell flat, "What did she see?"
"That bitch Hanako was already in my room when I got there wearing very little. I tired of my patience with her and told her to get out. She just happened to leave when Kagome entered the hallway and saw. Then the bitch acted like we had sex, even though I did not touch her, but Kagome picked up on her hints. It's not like she could have smelt and realized it wasn't true. She then processed to call me by my title, which she rarely does. I could see it in her eyes, her pushing me away."
Inuyasha sighed, "I am sorry. This is my fault."
Sesshomaru glared at him, "What exactly did you do to that girl to make her doubt herself so much and barely trust someone who claims an interest in her?"
"Look, I am not proud of it. I never realized she had such strong feelings for me, or maybe I did and didn't want to face those feelings. In a way, I strung her along, hoping that I loved her romantically when my love for her is much different than that. I was just scared that I would lose my best friend if I told her my true feelings. I was selfish and hurt her I the worst way, and I am damn glad she forgave me for it."
Sesshomaru's anger rolled off of him in waves as he began to realize the hole which he was in, "So because of you, I am screwed."
Inuyasha tapped his brother on his shoulder, "Yep, sorry."
Sesshomaru brushed his brother's hand off him, "I would kill you, but that would sadden her and put me face to face with her wrath."
Inuyasha chuckled loudly, "Man, I should have brought you closer to Kagome a long time ago to get you to stop trying to take Tenseiga."
"Not even remotely funny, pup."
"I am not a pup." Inuyasha looked at him defiantly.
"Yes, you are." Without another word, he turned to leave but was stopped by Inuyasha's hand tugging his sleeve.
"Advice, leave her be. She will come to you when she is ready. In the past, no matter how much I managed to piss her off, she always came back to my side." Then his ears fell, "But I must warn you. She may not interact with you as she did before."
"Why the hell not?"
"She may think history is repeating itself like with Kikyo and me and may keep you at arm's length."
"Inuyasha…" He seethed between his teeth.
"Yeah, yeah, I know my fault, and you hate me right now, but I will try to help you the best I can."
"You better!"
"…and you better take care of the bitch. She will only cause more trouble between you and Kagome."
Sesshomaru rubbed his hand down his face, "I know, but that is complicated in itself."
"Well, if you are serious about Kagome, then uncomplicate it. If not, then leave her be." With that said, Inuyasha turned and walked away to find his best friend who was hurting and try to ease her mind.
*other side of the castle*
Inuyasha found Kagome sitting on the ledge of the deck swinging her feet into the lake below.
Without a word, he sat down next to her, "Hey Kags."
She looked at him, "You know, don't you."?
He placed his arm around her shoulder, guiding her head to lean on it, "Sesshomaru sought me out and asked for my help.
She giggled, "He asked for your help"
He laughed, ", Yeah I know, it felt like an out-of-body experience, still cannot believe it happened."
"What did he want your help with?"
"Isn't it obvious?"
She leaned off him and shook her head.
Inuyasha signed, "Damn, I did mess you up."
They stared at each other.
"Kags I am, so sorry for everything I did to you and then some but, please do not let that come between you and someone else in the future."
Kagome signed, "Inuyasha I may have forgiven you and realized my true feelings about you, but it does not make the pain I felt go away or lessen it."
"What do you plan on doing?"
She looked back over the glistening water, "nothing, last night made me realize a few things."
"Oh yeah, like what?"
"I don't have the time or energy to be in another love triangle drama. I still have my last exams coming up, and there are still jewel shards out there, Naraku is getting stronger, I am still trying to figure out how to help you and Kikyo."
Inuyasha gently squeezed her shoulder, "Kagome the world does not rest on your shoulders."
A tear slides down her cheek, "Oh, but it does, Inuyasha." She leaned into him and cried into his chest.
He was confused not understanding what exactly she was talking about but knowing she wouldn't say anything.
"Kags," he whispered, "We are all here for you, you do not have to deal with whatever burden you feel alone. "
She wiped her tears, "I know, but it is weighing my heart so heavily."
He was concerned, "What is it?"
She shook her head, "My greatest fear, but right now that is, all it is. I am still unsure and need time to find answers. When I know for sure I will, tell all of you."
She turned to him looking at him…
How can I tell you I am worried for your safety, for Shippo's, Kouga's, Sesshomaru's and, every other demon I have made friends with? How do I tell you that every time I am in my time that I am constantly trying to use my powers to sense other demons and that every time I get nothing? How can I tell you that you aren't a part of my future, that I will lose everyone I care about?
He stared at her knowing she was voicing her deepest fears in her mind. Wanting to lighten the situation he grinned at her, "So you sucked lips with my brother yet?"
Her face went from sad stricken to blushing bright red.
He shoved her a little back, "OH MY GOSH KAGOME YOU DID!" He yelled.
"I was just kidding, now I am not going to be able to get that imagine out of my head!"
She huffed, "Well then you shouldn't have asked!" She pushed him back.
"Ugh, I am going to have nightmares now!"
"Inuyasha…"
He glared at her, "Do not even think about it Kagome!"
An evil smirk made it across her face that sent chills down his spine and before he could stop her the word "sit" came out of her mouth. Instead of smashing down into the dock the power sent him forward into the water causing a big splash to come at her drenching her in water.
He finally popped his head out of the water to realize what happened and burst out laughing, "Ha! You deserved that!"
She looked at him then back at her drench self then burst out into laughter. She laughed so hard when she leaned forward, she accidently fell into the water.
When she reached the surfaced and looked at Inuyasha they both started to laugh.
"Mama!"
Their laughing had drawled the attention of more than a few onlookers.
"Mama…mama!" Shippo came running towards them then did a cannonball into the water splashing only Inuyasha.
"Hey furball watch it!"
"Well then don't splash Kagome!"
Inuyasha pointed at the women in question, "She started it!"
"Inuyasha what did you do this time?" Miroku and Sango had found their way to the dock.
He huffed, "I really didn't do it!"
Miroku rolled his eyes then Sango spoke up, "Yeah I don't believe that for a second."
Inuyasha turned and glared at Kagome, and she just shrugged her shoulders then he pointed at their friends, she knew what he wanted.
"Um…I may have started it."
"What?" Sango gasped and Miroku looked at her like he was seeing a new side of her.
"He was teasing me, and I may have used you know what word and caused him fall in the water thus soaking me and then I fell in myself."
Miroku started clapping, "Well done Kagome."
"Oh, shut it monk!"
But Miroku and Sango just continued to laugh. Before they could respond Inuyasha flew out of the water behind them and shoved them in and started to laugh.
Upon reaching the surface they both turned to Kagome pleaded with her through their eyes.
She sighed, "Sit"
Inuyasha once again meet the water. "Hey, what was that for?"
She just laughed then he splashed her, which cause all of them to splash Inuyasha back, "Hey stop ganging up on me, what did I do?"
They all just laughed as they took turn chasing each other in the water and splashing and dunking one another not caring they were in their cloths and not caring of the eyes that watched them.
In the distance stood a watching Sesshomaru as Akemi and Hanako walked up beside him.
"So distasteful." Hanako said is disgust as she tried to swoop her arm into his, but Sesshomaru grabbed it tightly.
"I warned you not to touch my person again, if you fail to listen to me again, I will send you packing. Do I make myself clear bitch?"
She frowns, "Yes, my Lord."
Akemi just smirked at the girl knowing she would not listen to reason.
"What are they doing son?"
"Having fun, I would guess."
"It is still disrespectful to you, my Lord." Hanako spoke und his mother rolled her eyes.
They both ignored the girl.
"Your half-wit brother created quite the misfit pack if I do say."
He chuckled catching both the women off guard for it was rare to hear him laugh, "Make no mistake, that was not Inuyasha's doing. It was Kagome's."
Hanako huffed.
"How so my son?"
"I have traveled at different times with their pack and also fought against them at times. If you watch closing, it is easy to see that Kagome is the Alpha of that pack and Inuyasha is the Omega. Inuyasha thinks he leads them, but they all know they really follow her guidance and direction."
"Interesting…" Akemi turned her eyes back toward the group.
"Ugh, what is so special about that stupid wench."
Sesshomaru growled, "Cease your talking before I do it for you."
He then turned and walked away trying his damnedest to listen to his brother's advice.
"Will you ever learn girl, if you want his heart, you must not push him."
Hanako huffed in anger, "Who said anything about his heart?" Then walked away with anger rolling of her like a storm brewing.
Akemi raised a brow, "Seems I may have been wrong in my choosing," then turned her gaze back onto the little Miko again, "and it seems I may have interfered.
*a few hours later*
Hungry, Kagome made her way down to the kitchens, "Fumio, I am in need of your wonderful skills!" she made her way to the big island and sat on a stool.
Fumio blushed at her compliment, "Only you my Lady boast of my cooking."
"I am sorry that your skills are taken for granted here."
Fumio waved his hand at here, "Nonsense, the Lord pays me hefty for my talent. It is just that no one ever verbally tells what they think."
She popped up, "Oh, well, I for one cannot wait to eat whatever it is that you have for me!"
"Well, well what is it we have here. The wench socializing with the staff." Hanako stepped in as Kagome rolled her eyes. "Its suites you."
Kagome continued to ignore her as Fumio placed a hot bowl of portage and side dishes for her. "Oh, this is wonderful Fumio, just what I need to settle my queasiness due to unfavorable company." She said as she started to eat, and Fumio chuckled lightly under his breathe.
Hanako huffed just as Akemi strolled in, "A bowl as well Fumio." She took a seat next to Kagome.
"Yes, Lady mother." Fumio bowed then fetched her a bowl and side dishes as well.
"What bring you here to the kitchen Lady Hanako?", not bothering to look at the demoness as she gracefully ate.
"Oh my, yes, I forgot why I came down," she turned to Fumio, "I need an um…" she tried to act all shy, "a certain tea to prevent anything unwanted at the moment."
Kagome and Akemi both stopped eating and looked at her.
"Come again Lady Hanako?" Fumio looked just as confused as the women sitting at the island table did.
Hanako rolled her eyes, "If I must clarify then fine, I need the medicine to hinder me pregnant. My and the Lord had a steamy encounter and though we will be mates, a pup is too soon."
Fumio looked at her dumfounded and Akemi raised a brow at the scheming girl but what surprised the whole room was laugh that came from the little Miko and everyone watched as she continued to eat.
"Is something funny about my and Lord Sesshomaru's coupling and a chance of an offspring?", Hanako seethed.
Kagome sighed in frustration, placed the spoon down and looked at her, "You are either really ignorant to the mate rituals of Diaoyutai's or you think of me as a fool."
Akemi looked at the girl shocked again, knowing she picked up on what Hanako was trying to do and called her out on it.
"Excuse me!"
"You are excused, the door is over there." She turned back to her meal before her.
"You little bitch!"
"What Hanako, you think I do not know that only Lord Sesshomaru possess the power to make you pregnant. Even if you weren't mated and ended up having sex, if he did not want you to be pupped then you wouldn't be pupped. Also, if he wanted you to be pupped no herbal medicine would stop his seed. His power is too strong to be hindered by it."
Hanako, Akemi, and Fumio dropped their mouths in shock.
Embarrassment and anger rolled off Hanako in waves while Kagome gracefully ignored the demoness and continued to eat, which fueled her more. At the same time Fumio had already prepared what she asked for and was bringing it to her.
"Lady Hanako, what you have requested." He was holding it out towards her.
"Ugh what is the point of the damned thing now!" She swiped it out of his hands causing the scolding medicine to spill over his hands as she stormed away, and he hissed.
Kagome rose up and rushed to him carefully inspecting his hands, "Why are they not healing?"
"The medicine is meant to attack the womp, it will take a few hands for my hands to heal." He sighed sadly.
"Fumio do you trust me?" She asked him.
He nodded for he knew she was the kindest creature he ever came upon, "Yes, My Lady."
Kagome placed her hand inches above his, closed her eyes and began to pray once more.
Please, I ask of you once more to help me heal an innocent. Fumio meant no harm to anyone.
Her hands glowed once more as the entire kitchen stopped once they felt the Miko's Reiki.
Sesshomaru and Inuyasha flew through the door upon sensing her reiki and both of them including Akemi watched in stunned silence as her spiritual reiki meant to destroy their kind healed one of them.
Fumio eyes widened in shock as the burns and blood disappeared and his hands looked like new. After she was done and drawled her power back in herself. She gently grabbed his hands to inspect them.
"How...how did you do that?"
Kagome smiled at him, "My powers and I have come to a better understand of one another recently."
"Why would you heal a demon when your kind is meant to destroy us? While some gather as we speak making plains to wipe us out of existence?"
Kagome shaken out of her happiness by Akemi's words looked at her with sadden eyes. Everyone smelt the sadness, the anger, the regret, the doubtfulness rolling off her which confused them all the more.
"What group?"
"A gather of Mikos, Monks, and humans formed what they call Defenders with a sole purpose to wipe demons off the Earth. They have already started making weapons that could harm us and already wiped out a few demon villages. Were you not aware of this?"
Kagome looked at her shocked then at Sesshomaru and then at Inuyasha slowly connecting the dots, slowly realizing the fate that awaited them. Finally, remembering the stories of her grandfather mentioning great warriors that defeated all evil across the world. "No!"
"No…no…no…no…no!"
She shook her head violently and fell to her knees while tears poured down her checks.
Inuyasha was next her in a flash, "Kags what is it?"
She glared up at Sesshomaru, "Why did you not tell me they existed?"
He looked at her completely confused as to her reaction, "I did not think it was relevant."
She laughed lightly, "Relevant! The hell it isn't!"
"Son maybe we should move this discussion in your office." Akemi said softly while she looked around at the gathering off staff that was around them.
Sesshomaru nodded then looked at Inuyasha and then he nodded understanding.
Inuyasha picked up Kagome in his arms as she wrapped her arms around his neck and cried some more into his collar. Sesshomaru looked at them as they headed to his office wishing it was he that carried and comforted her.
Finally, all of them were in his office as Kagome stood in front of the window staring out watching Shippo play with Rin.
"Miko what was the reason for the hysteric's you caused in the kitchens." Akemi finally spoke bored of waiting.
"Mother" "Ah!" Sesshomaru and Inuyasha yelled together.
Kagome sighed, "My biggest fear coming before me and not knowing how to stop it from coming to pass and realizing why I was sent here to this time and place."
"Time?" Akemi was puzzled.
"Kagome…" Inuyasha looked at her.
She looked at him with sadden eyes has he finally connected the dots slowly, "You mean they might be the reason my I sensed no other demon in your time."
Sesshomaru and Akemi froze.
"In my history they succussed. They are known as warriors that fought great evil and wiped it off the Earth so humans could be safe." She paused as she finally sat down, "I had thought that the reasons there were no demons in the future had something to do with Naraku and the jewel. That is why I am fighting so hard against him. But I was wrong and just now put the pieces together. For it is that Order that will bring destruction to the demon world and wipe everyone that I care about out." Tears stared falling again.
Inuyasha kneeled in front of her, "Oh, Kags," he gently wiped away her tears, "That is what has been weighing in her heart this entire time?"
She only nodded as more tears fell.
"I am sorry I am missing something aren't I?" Akemi spoke up.
"Mother, Kagome comes 400 years from the future." Sesshomaru spoke.
Akemi looked at the girl then back at her son. She thought it impossible but if her son believed it, he wasn't a fool. It must be true. Then all that was said came back to her and she turned pale white.
"You mean those pests manage to kill us all off?"
"I don't know why I haven't thought more about it." Inuyasha spoke.
Sesshomaru looked at him, "You have been to her future?" he sounded a little jealous.
"Yeah, and what she said is true. I could never sense any other demon around for miles."
Akemi walked up to him and slapped him across the back of his head.
"Hey wench what was that for?"
"You never sought to mention that to us before!?" She yelled.
"AH! The bastard kept trying to kill me for my sword, so it was never brought up!" He yelled back and rubbed the back of his head. Old bitch actually has some strength in her.
"Mother he is right. Plus, I only just found out about her origins recently."
"We must stop them; we have to stop them." Kagome finally stopped crying and anger filled her eyes and her scent.
"You wish to stop those of which share the same spiritual power as you?" Akemi looked at her questioningly.
"I wish to stop anyone that means any harm to any human, hanyou, demon, or any creature. Especially if they plan on wipes a whole species off the planet." She stated firmly as her power sparked in her veins and everyone could feel it.
"Well, if a war is coming, I for one am glad to have you on our side."
Sesshomaru raised brow at his mother.
"Once the festival is over tomorrow, I will spend time studying. When I return for my exams, I will spend a few days seeing if I can find anything of the Defenders."
"It is a start." Sesshomaru tried to comfort her.
"Great we have that Naraku bastard to worry about and the damned jewel and now we have to add a group set out to destroy us too." Inuyasha slumped his shoulders.
"Inuyasha, see if Kikyo may knowing anything about them…" she paused, "I think it best she stays here with us for the time being," she paused again, "if that is okay with Lord Sesshomaru."
She finally looked at him in the eyes while he noticed her use of his title again.
Hurt flashed his eyes before he spoke, "Why must the un- "
Inuyasha cleared his throat while Sesshomaru rolled his eyes at him.
"Why must she stay with us?"
Kagome was still glancing between the brothers curious about what transpired between the two but looked back at him, "I am unsure if they know about Kikyo and her being undead."
Sesshomaru smirked and Inuyasha huffed.
She looked between the two again, "Anyways, I worry they will try to control her since she is not of the living and with her still lingering power that could be bad for us, and Inuyasha."
Inuyasha was out the door before anyone could say anything else.
Akemi, "It seems as if I was completely wrong about you."
Kagome snapped her eyes towards her, "What do you mean?"
"I pegged you for a worthless human who would add no value into my son's life," she eyed the both of them, "but it would seem as though you are his equal and rightfully so."
Kagome blushed hard, "Lord Sesshomaru is a friend." She slowly stated while not looking at him.
It stung to hear her say that.
Akemi noticed her son's sullen reaction and smirked, "If that were true, dear, I would not be able to scent him all over you." She winked at her son and walked out leaving behind an embarrassed Miko.
"Kagome…" Sesshomaru started to say but she put up a hand to stop him.
"Lord Sessho…"
"Don't use my title with me…please…" he begged.
She looked at him feeling a little bad and sighed, "Sesshomaru…I can't…I won't be a part of whatever is between you and Hanako. I have been there and done that and I ended up the one hurt."
He went to move towards her, but she stepped back.
"Kagome, I swear there is nothing between me and that bitch."
"That may be true but…"
"You do not believe me…you do not trust me." The sad realization hit him.
"I trust you with my life Sessy…" he slightly smiled at her use of his nickname she made for him, "…but it is too early to trust you with my heart as it is still healing."
He looked straight into her brown eyes as she looked into his, he desperately wanted to grab ahold of her and do everything in his power to banish the insecurities his foolish brother put there.
He sighed, "I will wait for when your heart is ready to open itself to me."
She shook her head, "Please don't, I may never heal, and I am not worth it for you to wait."
He couldn't take it anymore, and before she could blink, he had her pinned against the wall both hands on each side of her so she couldn't escape.
"Do you know how much I want to beat that idiot up for causing so much mistrust in you and yourself."
"Sessho…" she went to respond but he stopped her with a kiss. Nothing passionate or friendly, more like a seal of a promise.
He pulled back, "If I say you are worth it then you are worth it Kagome."
He looked deep into her eyes; he could see himself tearing down the walls she built up around her heart.
But just as he was making progress the plague itself showed her ugly head.
"Sesshomaru dear, you promised me a walk in the gardens."
Still looking at Kagome watching as what little progress he made erased itself and the walls were up again. Before he could react, Kagome moved under his arms and was out the door as Hanako chuckled.
"Woman, we both know I said no such thing."
She came up to him, "All is well, if you were to take me now then it wouldn't be a lie."
He couldn't face her, if he did, he would end up killing her and he could not do that, "MOTHER!"
Akemi was there in a flash looking between them reading the situation and frowned, "I told you, but you refused to listen to me."
"I did nothing wrong, his is my mate! I am protecting what is mine!"
The sound of a slap echoed in the room and Sesshomaru turned and look at Hanako holding her redden check and his mother fuming.
"You dare to hit me?" She was still shocked, "If I am not mistaken it was you who brought me here to come between him and that bitch Miko!"
"Yes, and that was my mistake! My son is not an object for you to possess and you are not his mate! You are a potential mate along with a list of many other powerful demoness! He has the pick of the litter so to speak. It was my wrongful judgement that pushed you more towards him."
"I want her gone Mother never to return to my estate."
"What! No…Sesshomaru you cannot mean that!"
"My brother was right, in order to get what I want in need to eliminate the obstacle standing in my way and right now that is you Hanako!"
"You could not possibly want that human whore…"
*Slap*
To everyone's surprise Akemi slapped Hanako again, "You will not speak of my son's intended like that again."
Sesshomaru grateful for his mother at the moment.
"Guards!" They started to pile in the office.
"Take Lady Hanako back to her courters and make sure she packs everything of hers for she will never return as a guest here at Moon Castle. You will then escort her safely back to her domains."
"Yes, Lady Mother." They all bowed and started to escort Hanako out of the room but not before she turned and glared at him "You will regret this Sesshomaru, enjoy your half-breed pups!"
"Thank you, mother."
She looked at him, "Oh what is this my son showing manners?"
He rolled eyes, "Yes, a certain Miko said I lacked them."
Akemi laughed, "It took a little fiery girl for you to show thanks to me."
"Mother…please."
Akemi jumped in delight, "Oh now you beg! Oh, if I would have known she would have this effect on you I would have hunted her down ages ago!"
He huffed.
"I am just teasing my son."
"I know…I just…" he looked like he was defeated and she never once saw this side to him, and it broke her a little bit.
"She will come back to you, just give her time and for what it is worth I am sorry for bringing that bitch here."
"I know mother. I guess I should allow her back to her room after Hanako leaves."
Akemi gasped, "Oh no son have you lost your mind."
He looked at her stupidly.
"You really know nothing of a human woman and how they think, do you?"
"You are seriously asking me that?"
She laughed, "Well I guess you wouldn't." she paused.
"The Miko knows that that room as always been Hanako's when she stayed here, and you even kicked her out of it when the bitch got here. If you put her back into that room it will worsen your already strained relationship with her."
He sighed again, "What shall I do then?"
Akemi smiled at her son and placed a hand on his shoulder, "place her in the Goddess room."
He looked at her in shock, "but that is meant for the future Lady of West."
"What do you not intend on mating the girl? Humans take forever to act on their feelings but us daiyoukais do not."
"Yes, I plan on taking her as my mate giving her the title of Lady of the West."
Akemi chuckled, "The little spirt fire is already acting in that position, did you not notice?"
He smiled while recalling the past few days.
"Why not befit a room to her fitting her title."
He looked at his mother, "So you approve of my choice then?"
"I was wrong about her on many levels and if it is she that you want I will happily support you and fight anyone that will stand against you."
Unexpectantly, Sesshomaru pulled his mother into his arms hugging her tightly, "Thank you mother."
"Oh, good gracious. You haven't even mated the girl and you are acting like this."
He pulled away, "It means a lot to me that you approve mother, that is all."
"I didn't think you would have cared about my opinion?"
"I would have taken her regardless of what you thought but it would have pained me to know you disagreed with my choice."
She understood, "Well, I cannot wait to see the staff's reaction when you tell them to change her room."
She walked out skipping along and Sesshomaru rolled eyes.
