Rose woke to Scorpius kissing her on the shoulder. She smiled in her pillow. "Merry Christmas, Mrs. Malfoy," Scorpius mumbled on her arm as he kissed his way down. Rose turned towards him. She ran her hands over his bare chest.
"Merry Christmas, Mr. Malfoy," Rose heard him hiss as she reached the edge of his boxer briefs. Scorpius smiled wickedly before pulling her shirt over her head. He ran hand over her round belly. He smiled once before taking her lips. They spent the morning in each other arms.
"Shit," Rose said as she came out of the shower, they were to be at her parents in a half an hour. She saw that her husband was still in bed. "Scorpius get up," She hit him on the arm. "We have to be at my parents soon." Scorpius rolled his eyes again and Rose hit him again.
He held up his arms. "Okay," He sat up and threw his legs over the side of the bed. "I'm up," He handed for the shower and Rose hit his naked butt. He threw her look. "I wouldn't do that if you don't want to join me," Rose only smiled as she went to get dress.
They reached Rose's childhood home just in time. "Rose and Scorpius are here," Hugo shouted from the sitting room to his parents who were in the kitchen. Rose and Scorpius saw that Hugo was still in his pajamas.
"Has Mum seen you?" Rose asked.
Hugo smiled a half smile. "No, she will in," Hugo held up three fingers. "Three, Two, One," He put a finger down after each number. Rose shook her head.
"Hugo, go upstairs and change right now," Hermione said to her son. Hugo smiled before leaving the room. Hermione turned to Rose and Scorpius. "How was the ball?" There was a sparkle in her eyes like she knew something was going on.
"It was fine. Next year you and Dad should come," Rose said.
Hermione shook her head. "No."
Rose lifted one eyebrow. "Well one day I will be planning all of it and you will be on the invitation."
Before Hermione could respond, Ron walked in with food. Both Rose and Scorpius' stomach let out a growl. They forgot to eat breakfast this morning. Ron and Hermione traded a look as Rose and Scorpius reached for the food. Talking had stopped when the food had come. Hugo came back in with jeans and jumper on.
After Hugo was back, they started to hand out presents while Rose and Scorpius talked about the ball. Hugo wondered who Adrienne's date was because she didn't ask him. He didn't want to ask Rose or Scorpius because they would read too much into it. Maybe he would ask Roxanne or Hector at the Burrow later today.
They made their way to Burrow, the house was already loud. Rose looked around the house as she held the cake that held the sex of the baby. She was looking for Vic, who was also telling the family on what she and Teddy were having. Rose just finishing setting her cake down with Grandmum giving her a look, when Vic grabbed her arm and dragged Rose in the laundry room.
"So, I have some news," Vic said. She made sure the door was shut before saying. "Dom is pregnant, and they are going to reveal it today."
"That is great. When is she due?" Rose had a feeling that their children were going to cause them a lot of trouble.
"Late July, early August." Vic smiled.
Rose let out a moan. "Hogwarts are never going to be the same."
Vic laughed. "It was never the same when we went there." Both laughed before the door was opened.
Dom stood with her hands on her hips. "What is going on?" Vic and Rose traded a look before grabbing Dom's arms and pulling her in.
"I hear congratulation are in order," Rose smiled.
A smile broke out on Dom's face. "Yes, we wanted to wait a little bit longer, but a night of fighting and make-up sex did its trick."
"When are you going to tell the rest of the family?" Rose asked.
"We were thinking right before you guys tell everyone the sex of your babies," Dom looked between them.
Vic and Rose traded a look. "You might want to tell them sooner or they are going to want you to play quidditch."
"Jonathan and I have that figured out, he going to suggest that they only play with two chasers because Vic can't play either." Dom passed the idea to her sister and cousin.
"That just might work," Vic said after some time. Before they could speak more the door opened and James put his head.
He smiled. "Come on, the game is about to start," The girls traded a look before leaving the laundry room.
They made their way to the pitch to see that everyone else was there. They saw that Jonathan had made the suggestion about only using two chasers. The idea went off well. Ginny threw her nieces a look. She knew something was up with them. The game went on for about an hour before they were called for dinner.
Dinner was loud and the losing team didn't like that they had to clean up after dinner, they blamed it on Dom and Vic not being there. After the kitchen was clean, everyone headed for the sitting room to open gifts. After the gifts it was time for dessert.
"Before we dig into the cake that Vic and Rose brought there is something, I have to tell you," Dom said. Jonathan came and took her hand. "Jonathan and I are pregnant."
"I knew it," Ginny shouted. Everyone looked at her. "She sat out of the game for a reason." Everyone laughed before turning to Rose, Scorpius, Vic, and Teddy.
"Earlier this month," Vic started. "We found out what sex of our babies are, and we want to share the news with you," Teddy and Scorpius placed two cakes on the table. Rose handed Vic a knife. Vic cut into her cake and blue little candy balls fell out of the cake.
"You are having a boy," Someone shouted. Vic and Teddy nodded while laughing.
Vic handed the knife to Rose and Scorpius. They cut the cake and held up a blue piece of cake. "You are also having a boy," The same person yelled. Rose and Scorpius nodded.
Everyone came, hugged them, and they couldn't be happier for them. Everyone talked about the next generation and how much trouble they are going to get into when they get older and what will happen when Dom has her baby. Molly Weasley couldn't wait to get started on blankets for the new members of the family.
"Mum, why did you let Dad drive?" Rose asked from the back of the car. She had one hand on her stomach. Rose was in a car with her parents, brother, and husband on their way to Rose's great aunt's house for Boxing Day. "And how did I get stuck in the middle?" She glared at Hugo and Scorpius for putting the pregnant woman in the middle.
Hermione looked behind her and smiled. "Your father told me that he knew the way. I think I remember telling you that you might want to get your license." Rose rolled her eyes at her mother. "You might want to rethink that now that you are going to have a little one." Rose let out a frustrated sigh because she knew that her mother was right. With that sigh Hermione turned around with a smile because she knew that she got her daughter.
Rose closed her eyes and tried to sleep the rest of the way to her aunt's house. She must have fallen asleep because Scorpius was shaking her to wake up. Rose saw all the cars on the street in front of her aunt's house. She knew that her grandparents were going to be, since it was their year to come to England. She took a sigh before she let Scorpius help her out of the car. Scorpius held on to her hand as they got closer to the house. This was the first time that he was going to meet her muggle family.
"They will love you," Rose whispered to him. Scorpius could only nod.
Hermione knocked on the door with Ron standing next to her. The door opened and Aunt Helen was standing there. "Hermione," She hugged Hermione than hugged Ron. She looked over to Rose, Hugo, and Scorpius. Her eyes stopped at Rose round belly. "I can see that you didn't want to wait," She stepped up and hugged Rose. "Now who is your husband? I hate that we missed your wedding, but your mother said that you wanted something small."
Rose let out a little laugh. "Yeah," She placed a hand on Scorpius' shoulder. "This is my husband, Scorpius Malfoy," Rose patted her stomach. "We wanted to start a family right away."
Aunt Helen laughed before turning to Hugo and hugged him. She commented on how tell he had grown in the last few months since she saw him. They entered the house to see people standing in groups, talking. "Scorpius and I will put the coats away," Rose grabbed everyone's coat as her aunt told her where to put them.
Rose set the coats down before waving her wand at the door. "I know what you are thinking." Scorpius nodded. "My mum had to tell them something to why they weren't invited to the wedding. So, they think we had a small wedding."
"And we wanted to start a family right away," Scorpius placed a hand on Rose's stomach. Rose nodded. He leaned over and kissed her. "Okay," Rose wrapped her arms around him, and he pulled her close.
"Can we stay like this?" Rose asked.
"I think your family would suspect something if we don't come back," Scorpius kissed her on the top of her head.
There was knock on the door. "Rose," Rose knew that voice as the voice of her grandmother. "We would like to meet your young man."
"Coming Grandmum," Rose shouted through the door. She waved her wand, took Scorpius' hand, and left the room.
Scorpius saw where Rose got her curly hair and where his mother-in-law got her brown eyes. The hair was from the brown-haired woman standing in front of them and the eyes were from the white-haired man standing in front of them. He saw that they were looking him up and down and making sure that he was right for their granddaughter.
"Grandmum, Granddad, this is my husband Scorpius Malfoy," Rose said. "Scorpius this is my grandparents Owen and Kathy."
"Sir, Ma'am," Scorpius shook their hands.
They nodded. "I'm sorry that we missed the wedding," Kathy smiled at them.
Fire flared in Rose's eyes. "No, you didn't approve of the wedding even after Mum explain everything. And you don't think that we should be starting a family at our age." Scorpius felt he might have to hold Rose back.
Kathy narrowed her eyes at Rose. "You could have waited a couple of years before you got married to see if he was right for you. A baby is a lot of responsibility." Scorpius thought that Rose got her passion (temper) from the Weasley family, but she might have gotten some from the Granger family too.
"You knew that we couldn't wait, and I know Scorpius is right for me, because he loves me very much. You don't think that Scorpius and I know how much responsibility a baby is, we know." Rose hissed.
"How are you going to support this baby?" Kathy crossed her arms.
Rose looked around because she was sure that everyone was listening to them. "In certain circles," That was the phrase that they would use if they were in mixed company, and they needed to talk about the wizarding world. "Scorpius' family is very wealthy, and he is working at his father's company that he is going to take over one day."
"Oh," It was all her grandmother could say.
Rose took a breath and closed her eyes. "Grandmum, I love you and I want you to be a part of your great-grandson's life, so you are going to have to accept Scorpius and my choices. This is our life."
"Rose," Kathy said in a soft voice. "I'm sorry. I didn't think that you wouldn't mind that we were there. You had your father's family there."
"Of course, I wanted you there. It was a big moment in my life. I know mum wanted you there too."
Kathy nodded. She didn't know what to say, so she held out her arms. Rose stepped in them. "I love you, Rose."
"I love you, too Grandmum." Rose broke out of her grandmother's arms.
"So, you are having a boy," They spent the next fifteen minutes talking about Rose's pregnancy.
After they left Rose's grandparents, they were the topic of many groups, cousins asking about the wedding and how they were coping with married life and if they were ready for the baby. Rose needed to get away, so she found a spot on the stairs and made Scorpius get her something to drink and eat.
"So, this is where I'll find the person, who upstaged my return," Rose looked up and saw her cousin, Josh smiling down at her. Rose smiled, stood up, and hugged her cousin.
"Josh, when did you get back?" Rose asked. She hasn't seen him in a few years. When he turned eighteen, he joined the army. When he would come home, she was at Hogwarts. She saw how much he has changed. He looked more mature than before. He stood straighter and there was a quiet strength to him. There was a look in his eyes like he has seen a little too much being in the army.
"A couple of days ago, it was a nice present for my parents and brother," He smiled.
"I bet," Rose couldn't keep the smile off her face.
"I see you are not the little girl I remember. You are going to be a mum." Josh glanced at her round belly.
"Yeah, we are having a boy," Rose patted her belly.
"Do you have a name yet for him?" Josh asked.
"No," Rose said as someone coughed behind Josh. Rose saw that it was Scorpius. "Josh, this is my husband, Scorpius. Scorpius this is my cousin, Josh." The men shook hands.
Josh watched as Scorpius gave Rose a bottle of water and a plate of food. He saw how much his little cousin was in love. He stuffed his hands in his pocket. "So, why don't you have a name yet?"
"We only found out earlier this month and we still have time," Rose said.
"The name still has to fit my family tradition," Scorpius smiled at Rose.
Rose moaned. "What family tradition?" Josh asked. Scorpius explain how his family uses Latin and Greek names for their first-born son. "Ah, what about Jason. I'm guessing its normal enough for Rose and it will fit your family tradition."
Rose threw her arms around her cousin. "Thank you for the name," She kissed him on the cheek.
"No problem," He mumbled. He pulled her off him and handed her to her husband.
They left Josh and were called to see Rose's Great-Great Grandmother. She had outlived her husband and some of her children. Everyone in Rose's family thought that she was going to outlive them all. Rose's grandmother was in the sitting room, talking with other members of the family.
Rose leaned down and kissed her grandmother on the cheek. "Grandmother Jean."
Grandmother Jean hit the person next to her. "I want to talk to Rose and her husband alone."
Everyone in the family knew that it meant to leave the room. After everyone was gone, Rose took a seat next to her and took her hand. "What did you want to talk to us about?"
Grandmother Jean looked from Rose to Scorpius. Rose saw how she was studying Scorpius. "I thought that I would never hear the name Malfoy again."
"Grandmother," Rose there was a hint of shock in her voice.
"Nor having a granddaughter marry one." Grandmother Jean continued as she didn't hear Rose. She looked down at Rose's belly. "And having a baby with him." Grandmother Jean looked at Rose's shock face. "Get that look off your face. I'm a muggle-born witch who fell in love with a muggle boy."
"Grandmother, does mum know?" Rose asked.
"I think she suspect, especially after I turned a hundred and I'm still alive. I went to Hogwarts for my magical learning. I fell in love with a soldier when I was home for the summer between my sixth and seventh year. I realized I was going to have to give up the wizarding world and my friends told me that I might not have a witch or wizard child, but I didn't care. I loved your grandfather," Rose saw her grandmother go back to the time she young and marrying the love of her life. Rose glanced at Scorpius to see how touched he was by the story.
"It took my grandson to have a witch and I knew right away she was a witch. I didn't like how she fought in a war before she twenty. I was happy about one thing and that was when she found the love of her life and she was going to live in the wizarding world. I watched her have two beautiful children, who were comfortable in both worlds. So, why did you marry this man so young? Your own grandparents waited until they were thirty before marrying."
Rose took a breath and explained the prophecy and how that resulted in a marriage contract. They had to have a baby in the first year of their marriage. Rose also told her how much she loved Scorpius and how much he loved her. They were happy for this marriage, and she might want to tell Hermione about being a witch. "Grandmother, how do you know what is going on in the wizarding world?" Rose asked.
Grandmother Jean smiled. "I take the Daily Prophet and other wizarding magazines. I had to know what was going on. That is why I had to know more about this. I saw something in the Daily Prophet about your engagement and I saw the picture of the wedding, I saw how much you two love each other. Next thing I know you are announcing your pregnancy. I felt there was more going on than what the papers were saying. It meant I had to reveal my secret to someone."
Rose smiled. "If you ever need something, just let me or Mum know, and we can help you. You know that Mum is deciding about running for Minister of Magic."
"I know and I cried when I saw that," Grandmother Jean had a proud look on her face. "I am very proud of her."
There was a knock on the door and Hugo popped his head in. "Dinner is ready, and everyone is waiting for you three."
Rose nodded. Hugo closed the door behind him. "Your brother is going to do great things." Rose nodded again before getting up and helping her grandmother up. Scorpius held out his arm for Grandmother Jean and she took his arm. She turned to Rose. "You have amazing husband."
Rose caught Scorpius' eyes. "I know."
