Chapter 45

The group of Ash's former friends and the Champions are now back at the castle, the party is about to be over and they didn't see Ash around. They are frowning as they know that their attention might sour Ash's mood.

"He really didn't come to the ball after we met..." Mallow says. "I guess after 10 years, he really changed a person..."

"Why did we have to say those to him 10 years ago?" Max says in sadness. "I mean...what made us think like that? Did we really think of Ash as a weak trainer?"

"But that is not true! Ash is strong..." Bonnie says while tears are forming from the little girl's eyes.

"Yeah...if he really was a weak trainer, he would just need to improve, we didn't need to be harsh to him as well." Brock says as the other boys nod.

At the same time in his room, Ash is holding his head crying. The memory of what happened 10 years ago is flashing back in his mind. He is scared, scared of the fact that they are going to hurt him again.

"Why made me remember all of that? Why?" Ash yells in anger. He looks outside the window and he sees Alice dancing in by the lake, Ash is drawn to the movements and he can feel his face going red. Alice also looks up to him and smiles at him, and the smile is what Ash is attracted to.

Once he finishes dancing, she decides to make Ash come down from his room as she starts to sing.

"All those days watching from the windows
All those years outside looking in

All that time never even knowing
Just how blind I've been
Now I'm here blinking in the starlight
Now I'm here suddenly I see
Standing here it's all so clear
I'm where I'm meant to be"

While Alice is singing, Ash quickly goes out of the room and then he rushes to her, but the running sound is so loud as it catches the attention of the group.

"Ash? Where is he going?" May asks.

"I have no idea, should we go out and see?" Misty asks and they decide to follow him.

Ash finally arrives at where Alice is, and Alice also turns around and faces the boy she loved. She gives him another smile and continues to sing.

"And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything looks different
Now that I see you"

Ash approaches her and whispers in her ear. "You know, I am lucky to hear your voice again."

"Thank you, Ash." Alice smiles. "It really means so much to me."

"How about I return the favor for you? After all, you are my special one."

Alice is excited and she nods, then Ash starts to look into the sky and sings.

"All those days chasing down a daydream
All those years living in a blur
All that time never truly seeing
Things, the way they were
Now she's here shining in the starlight
Now she's here suddenly I know
If she's here it's crystal clear
I'm where I'm meant to go"

Unconsciously, Ash wraps his arms around Alice and they decide to sing together.

"And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything is different
Now that I see you"

Alice turns around to Ash as their eyes are staring at each other, they both sing the last lyrics, "Now that I see you"

After the song ends, Ash and Alice kiss as their lips meet each other. They stay in the pose for a while until Alice says, "I am glad to hear your singing as Ash again, compared to Jude from the Colors, I like your voice better."

Ash says with a small giggle, "You think so? I like to sing, but I didn't practice much since I want to focus on the leagues. But after I was betrayed, I decide to focus on other things. Singing is one of them since I want one day that I will have a duet with you."

"Thank you, Ash." Alice smiles as they embrace each other again, but they don't notice that the group is watching everything. Once they break the hug, Ash says, "So my angel, now that I have become a Prince, I want to ask you. Are you willing to be my princess? I won't force you if you don't want to."

Alice smiles and says, "Ash, you don't know how long I have been waiting for you to say those words. Of course, I will like to stay by your side after all we've been through in these 10 years. You are not only my prince, you are also my Chosen one."

Then they share a kiss again, and this time it is longer than the last time. Once they break the kiss, they decide to go back to the castle to rest as they know tomorrow is a brand new day. Before they leave, they see the group also there, Ash sighs as he decides to make things clear for them.

"It seems that you are just continuing to bother me after how I told you not to bother me again..." Ash sighs. "If that's the case, I'll just answer your questions for once, so do ask quick."

Lance decides to be the first one to speak, and he asks, "So where were you this whole time during the 10 years? Why couldn't we find you with all our resources?"

"I can say that I might be a master of disguises, so you wouldn't be able to find me. But in other times, I was at an island which belongs to my father, it is also the place where he played together with his first crush." Ash says.

"I see..." Lance frowns, as Ash didn't want to talk about it some more.

"Can you tell us how you have those Legendary Pokemon? You even have an Arceus when you are facing against your mother." Max asks.

"Arceus is the one that saved me 10 years ago, and they helped me meet Alice." Ash says. "They become my Pokemon since I had saved them once and it is a way for them to repay me."

Bonnie asks, "Will we ever get your forgiveness?"

Ash thinks a second and says, "As much as I want to forgive you, but I can't. What you said really haunts my mind and I haven't moved on, if worse, I won't be able to move on."

This causes them to get shocked, Misty says, "But why? You forgave your Pokemon and your mother! Dawn, Serena, and even others! Why not us? This is not fair."

Ash says, "I know I have forgiven them, not because I managed to move on to what they said to me. My mother is the one that made me into this world, without him I wouldn't be what I am. She did tell me that he would abort me if I were a weak trainer, but that is just a lie made by Team Rocket. For my Pokemon, you don't know how much I wanted to release them for what they did to me. But they proved to me how they were serious about everything, that's why I keep them with me. And for Dawn, Lillie, Serena, and other people let's say that they have suffered the consequences of their actions, but what about you? I had secretly watched you guys in the past 10 years, and you didn't seem to care as much as the others."

The group frowns as what Ash said was right, they just believed Ash was gone and they didn't even care as much as the others. They started to care once they learn Ash was Red this whole time a few days ago, which is too late for them.

"No more questions? Then you know what to do, leave me alone, and don't you ever show up in front of me again." Ash says as he leaves, Alice looks at the group with sadness before following Ash without saying anything.

Back in the castle, Ash is sitting at the table full of tears in his eyes. He uses his hands to cover it, but Alice notices it and says, "Ash, are you alright?"

Ash says, "It hurts. When they all abandoned me and leave me to suffer, it is hurting my heart. I want to forgive them, but I can't."

Alice says, "Ash, I understand. But we have destroyed the last member of Sakaki. No more Control clouds will affect them."

"I know...but they bring me a lot of pain..." Ash says in sadness. "I don't think I can ever forgive them..."

Alice says, "It is okay, I just want you to know that I will always be by your side no matter the decisions you made."

Ash stops sobbing and says, "Thank you, Alice. You are my angel..."

Just then, Dawn, Gladion, Lillie, and their other friends and family also come to Ash, Delia asks, "What's wrong, Ash?"

Alice says, "Let me answer the question for you, Ms. Ketchum. Ash just had a confrontation with those who were his friends in the past. They have been trying to persuade Ash to forgive them."

"They didn't care about him in the past, so why now?" Lillie asks, and the others are surprised to hear the outburst from a girl like her. "Sorry, it's just..."

Gladion says, "I understand how you feel, Lillie. We all are feeling the same. It won't be fair if Ash just forgives them that easily, considering we have been trying to find any clues about Ash while they weren't doing anything."

Eve folds her arms and says, "And they might do it now just because you are a prince and they just don't want to be on your bad side."

Ash stops crying and says, "That's enough. I am not going to care about what they are going to do with me, since all of you are here, I think there are some things that I want to talk about."

At the same time, the group comes back to the castle and sees how Ash is talking to the others about something they don't understand. They are just jealous of Ash to have new friends. It feels like he is disbanding the old for the new, but they have no one but to blame themselves, as they are the reason why he is like this. Perhaps Ash hates them not because they were controlled, but because of how they reacted after freeing from control. But they are not going to give up, it is just a matter of time, they knew the old Ash is still inside him and they will be the ones to bring it back.

Here is a new chapter, and as you can see, Ash has a confrontation with the past traitors, but will he get the courage to forgive all of them? And what is Ash going to talk about with the others? I hope you all like this chapter and the next chapter will be some interesting stuff that I want to write about.
