In the 23rd century, the crew of the starship USS Enterprise completes its missions in spaces, and they confront strange alien races, friendly and hostile alike, as they explore unknown worlds. Among the crew is Leutient Alara Zari, the youngest chief of security in the history of and the first, although only half, Zatoan to join the Federation.
