All I saw was darkness. Color was non-existent in this eternal void. There was nothing to feel, My body was no longer existent. The arms I once had no longer moved, the legs I used to run with or just walked with were no longer there. I was simply drifting in an everlasting void. I couldn't hear any sound. I couldn't breathe, yet it didn't hurt or even feel foreign. My heart no longer beat, yet I wasn't bothered by it in the slightest.
It was as if all time in this dark void ceased to exist. I wasn't affected by the constraints of time any longer. I didn't feel an urge to eat, or even drink. This dark void had a lull that made me want to stay in it for eternity, to forever sleep. I wasn't sure if I liked it or disliked it, I just knew it gave me a peace of mind.
I don't really remember much, not my family, friends, pets, I don't even remember my own name…. What I do remember was water, not the kiddie pool kind but a vortex of water raining down on me as if it were from a wrathful sea god. After the water crashed upon me everything went blank and I've been in this lifeless void since.
Ping!
It was so sudden and quick I wouldn't have believed I heard anything if it wasn't for me being shocked over seeing a small translucent box.
Do you want to play a game?
These were the first words I've seen since entering this void and it was so unbelievably vague. What does it even mean by 'play a game'?
Ping!
Do you want to play?
Y/N
Unsure of what to do as I didn't have hands I thought what would be worse. Ignoring this strange box or staying in this eternal void for who knows how long. I mean the darkness wasn't terrible, it felt as if I were in the sheets of my bed and didn't want to get up for the day. But….. I don't think I want to stay here forever. I want to remember who I was. The names of my family, all of my friends, and the most important, what my pets name was.
Slightly hesitating I thought Yes, and my world exploded into bright lights.
Initiating System
The next thing I knew I felt myself start to vibrate and then promptly disappeared from the dark void I came to know. When I stopped vibrating I noticed I saw darkness again but it was different from before. The void I knew had no sounds, the one I was in now had a very slight buzzing noise. And I felt myself constantly being shifted around.
I tried to see if I had a body again but couldn't feel anything. Another difference was that it was warm, as if I were taking a warm bath. Realizing I couldn't do anything at the moment I decided to just embrace this warmth surrounding me.
XxX
I'm not sure how long it's been since I've been in this new void but it's been long enough that I gained some sort of feeling in my body? I'm not too sure since I still haven't been able to see anything.
XxX
My god this wait is atrocious. It's unbelievably boring, at least in the void I wasn't lucid the majority of the time. Here there was no such thing as sleeping, just me and myself in this warm cramped place. I've also started to feel hungry and thirsty again, it doesn't usually last long but it's not a pleasant experience in the slightest.
XxX
I wonder if it was possible to return back to the void I was previously in. I think I much preferred the darkness I was accustomed to then this. I can't believe I was tricked into this by a box asking me about a game. What part of this makes it a game?
XxX
The cramped feeling got more restricted and restricted as if a vice grip was restraining my body. I think I could feel some part of my body and somewhat move it but I wasn't sure. I've been getting even hungrier and thirstier than before.
XxX
It was ridiculously cramped, I was constantly moving around as much as I could until I felt a sharp shift and the warmth was slowly leaving me. I'm not going to lie that terrified me, that warmth was what kept me sane and if I was going to have to go without it I was going to start a fight. Another sharp shift happened and it was even rougher than the first one was.
Shift after shift continued to barrage me until the cramped feeling started contracting even greater than what it was. And then I felt it, it was as if I was getting pulled through something.

There were two figures standing over a person laying down on a bed. Well standing is putting it lightly one of the figures standing was pacing back and forth rapidly while the other was trying to get them to calm down.
"Hakoda, I need you to calm down, her water has already broken. I need to get this stuff ready now so go stand in a corner or something if you're not going to help." Said one of the figures crouched down digging through some supplies. Standing up you could see it was an older man with graying hair in a light blue winter coat with white fuzz surrounding his neck and arms.
"Sorry Shin, just a little bit of anxiety." The newly named Hakoda said.
"Tch, you have anxiety? How do you think Kya feels?" He said sarcastically, pointing to the woman laying down on a bed. "Hell I should have more anxiety then you right now, Kanna usually deals with this crap not me.
He forced himself to stop pacing and stepped towards Kya lying on the bed. Crouching down he reached out his hand and laid it on top of her hand, "Sorry if I was stressing you out there Kya."
The woman named Kya held onto the hand that was resting above hers and reassured him that she was ok.
"I'm going to be perfectly fine, so don't stress yourself out about this." She moved his hand over her stomach and placed it down onto her bloated stomach. "Not much longer before our little sunshine will be out."
Kya watched as Hakoda's face lit up when he felt a kick come from her belly. Hakoda looked up at Kya and was going to say something before he was abruptly cut off from the older man.
"I'm going to need you to stand to the side of Hakoda, I got everything prepared." The graying haired man walked towards them with a tray of items. He set the tray down on a dresser and looked toward Kya. "Are you ready Kya?"
Kya looked towards the doctor and nodded her head in affirmative.
"Alright let us proceed then."

I was getting pushed through something. I'm not sure what but it wasn't very pleasant. I felt something grab me and start pulling along with whatever was pushing me out. When I was fully pushed out I felt a cold breeze go over me instantly making me cold and missing that warmth, There was a sudden jolt of pain before it quickly melted away.
I felt my lungs take in fresh air for what felt like decades. Something grabbed me and wrapped what felt like a very warm blanket around me. I tried opening up my eyes and saw color which felt like an eternity. Everything was blurry; I couldn't see anything clearly, but the colors were so vibrant and beautiful. I felt someone pull me up and lay me down on something soft and warm.
I tried focusing my eyes and finally started to see a shape. A dark blob with a lot of teeth looked down at me and it was the scariest thing I have ever seen.
XxX
"One more push Kya, you can do this, come on!" The greying haired man yelled out.
Kya's face was flushed with sweat and had a very strained expression. She prepared herself for the final push and squeezed deeply onto Hakoda's hand.
"You're doing great Kya, just one more push and it'll be over." He said in a reassuring tone trying his hardest to act like his hand wasn't in a great deal of pain.
"The babies almost there, just a few more pushes." The old doctor exclaimed.
Kya was running on fumes and with the last of her stamina she got ready for one more giant push and gave it her all.
"The babies out!" Shin quickly grabbed a warm blanket and wrapped the baby in it. He looked down to confirm the gender, "It's a baby boy." The graying haired doctor said, gently handing Kya her new addition to the family.
She gently held onto the baby and brought him close to her chest. She stared mesmerized at her baby's face, the baby's eyes fluttered open and blue eyes met blue eyes. She watched him stare at her with his beautiful unfocused eyes, Kya couldn't contain how happy she was and beamed a bright smile.
Hakoda watched the two stare each other down and couldn't contain his happiness either and started beaming, "He has yo-
The baby exploded into tears, The two newly parents panicked and tried their hardest to soothe the baby in any way they could think of but no matter what they did the baby continued wailing with all it's might
XxX
The blobs were everywhere, they had wide vicious mouths that looked like they would swallow me in one bite. I tried to fight them with all my might but my body wouldn't respond, so I screamed to the heavens hoping for divine intervention but at last, I felt my body slowly succumb to exhaustion and drifted into sleep for the first time in a long, long while.
XxX
After they finally calmed the baby down, the group was able to relax and were staring at the baby's sleeping face.
Kya looked at the peacefully sleeping baby's face and couldn't believe how adorable he looked.
Hakoda was intently staring at the baby's face and couldn't believe he was a father now.
The doctor was staring at the baby and couldn't believe the lungs that were on the damn thing.
As Kya was cooing over how adorable her baby was, Shin proceeded to clean up his supplies and started to head out of the room to give the couple some space.
"I'm going to go check on Kanna, come find me if anything happens." He said while heading out.
Hakoda watched as he left and was glad he was around to help. He was the only other person with any type of medical knowledge they had left, well besides Kanna, but she was sick at the moment. He looked back over to his baby and was so ecstatic he couldn't even bring it to words. He saw his wife cooing over her handsome young man and was mesmerized with her. She was still absolutely stunning even when she was flushed and sweating.
Kya looked up and noticed Hakoda watching her and the baby with a goofy grin. She smiled up at him and brought the baby up for him to hold. Hakoda hesitantly held the baby into his arms. He still couldn't believe he was a dad, it was all too surreal.
He looked over at Kya and asked "What should we name him?"
Kya looked at him and tried thinking of a name that would fit him.
"How about Wang." Hadoka suggested.
Kya gave Hakoda a look that oozed the question 'are you being serious right now'.
Completely disregarding the suggestion Kya looked up at Hakoda then back at the baby and suggested, "How about Sokka?" She said looking at the both of them.
"Sokka huh." Hakoda said, testing the name. "It has a nice ring to it, I like it." The two of them looked at one another and started grinning like a bunch of loons excited for what life would bring. "Welcome to the family Sokka."

I just want to say this is bullshit. Absolutely bullshit. Now you may be wondering why I would be upset, but if you had to deal with the shit I just dealt with I think you'd be calling bullshit too, you might be a bit confused so let me explain it from the top on to what's going on.
So the last thing I remembered was that I fell asleep as the blobs were all around me, it was not pretty for me or the blobs. Now you know when you close your eyes and the next thing you know is that you just slept 16 hours and don't know what in the hell just happened, well that just happened to me.
The first thing I saw when I woke up was a pretty black haired woman that looked to be around her late 20's cradling me in her arms. She had bright blue eyes, a dark complexion, and a light blue winter coat covering her body. Now you may be thinking why would being cradled by a pretty woman be a bad thing? Well ignoring the fact that I was being cradled in the first place, it was pretty awkward when she first tried to stick her boob in my mouth.
Now you might be asking again why you would be so against that? Well I was stuck in a dark place for a very long time, then got pushed out of said dark place, saw color for the first time in who knows how long, got surrounded by dark blobs with vicious smiles, and then finally woke up in the arms of what looked to be an angel. It was a roller coaster of emotions and I've still not come to terms on what happened.
After she came to terms I wasn't going to go near her boobs she brought in back up. It was a man that was pretty young looking, maybe around the same age range as the woman. He had shaggy dark brown hair that was styled in a bun, he had a beard that matched his hair. The man didn't have on a light blue winter coat like the woman did, he had what looked like a robe with the same light blue color as the coat. On his neck he had a strange necklace that had two canine teeth with light blue stones decorating the middle.
This guy has been trying to coerce me into putting a boob into my mouth, by putting it in his mouth to try to show me it was harmless. I'm going to ignore the part where it led them to get down and dirty. This wasn't even the worst part yet, I hate to admit this but I soiled myself… Yes it was terrible, I had no control over my body functions. What made it even worse was that I had to cry for them to clean me. It felt humiliating to be cleaned up by someone other than myself but I learned to just accept the fact that I wasn't capable of doing it myself
They would always try to talk to me but I couldn't understand what they were saying, to me it sounded more like jumbled up words that did not sound right coming from their mouths. I could only guess what they were trying to say to me. The woman would always say the same word no matter what else would come out of her mouth, Mama, it didn't matter what else she would say, that word would always accompany it.
The guy would always say dad in whatever he would try to say to me. Now it didn't exactly take a genius to realize that I was a baby, well at first I thought they were giants, actually I thought they were dark blobs but that was a much darker time.
I've pretty much gotten used to being stuck as a baby. Nothing major happened besides me finding out that I still had my little guy down below, thank god for that tidbit I'd be in ruins if I ended up with the wrong chromosome. I found out that we lived in a frozen winter land, everything was snow, water and ice, there wasn't a speck of grass or dirt anywhere, and did I mention I'm a brother now? It happened a little after I turned one, one minute my mom was fine then boom she started babbling about whatever and her and dad brought me to an old man I met once when they threw me a birthday party.
Well to be honest I think I met everyone on my birthday, we lived in a small village with walls surrounding our igloos. Yes we live in igloos, and yes it gets cold at times. Anyways there were about 100 or so people, we all were outside and celebrated. There wasn't no cake but I guess that makes sense seeing that we were in the middle of nowhere. The only food that was available were really only fish.
Now I was a little confused on what was going on because my mom did not pack on a lot of weight so I didn't even know she was pregnant at the time, so it was a pretty big surprise when I saw it was a small baby in that blanket. They brought the baby over so I could take a closer look and it wasn't anything special really, sure the baby was adorable looking but that was about it. I mean I was a little excited to be a brother but at the same time I still didn't know if all of this was even real or not.
Ever since I got sent to this new place I always wondered what that box meant by playing a game. I never saw anything like the box since I arrived here, not a single thing about a game nor any additional information. I always assumed that me being able to live again was me 'playing a game' but that wasn't the case.

That was on top of my head. I'm not sure if it was there the entire time but I found out about it when I stumbled across a puddle of water outside when mom and dad carried me outside for a walk. I saw that I had a dark complexion, with dark brown hair, and bright blue eyes. I mean I think I had dark brown hair. I couldn't really tell I didn't have much hair yet. Anyways, on top of my head was that. At first I just thought I wasn't seeing it right but nope it was there all along, I even tried looking straight up and I could see it plain as day.
I was slowly beginning to have a basic understanding of what my parents were saying and I was actually in a little lesson from my mom who was teaching me.
"Now say Kya." She coed down at me, saying it slowly for my sake.
She would do this often, just say a bunch of names that I would try to say but couldn't really form the words to say it so when I said it, it sounded more like this "CHA." Yes I couldn't talk yet, no it's not funny.

After 'ahem' getting put back down on my little stool, I looked back at the two boxes and started to examine them. I brought my chubby little hands towards the box to see if I could press it and surprisingly enough it brought another box in its place.

HUH! How the fuck is this baby a higher level then me! I was here before this little shit and you're gonna tell me they're a higher level then me? What about experience in life, where the hell does that factor come in? Ok get it together Sokka, everything's ok, I'm not going to get upset at a baby that did nothing wrong, be the bigger baby. Looking away from the cheater I took a glance towards my parents and focused on my eyes once again and two names appear on their head.
Hakoda, Chieftain of the Southern Water Tribe
Lvl - 32
Kya, Southern Water Tribe
Lvl - ?
Looking at their info I'm shocked by what I see; my dad is the leader of this tribe, which is kind of cool but not what I'm shocked about. I'm shocked that I'm not able to see the level of my mother. What kind of badass is she if she's a higher level then the boss of the tribe? Taking a mental note not to ever make mom mad at me I lay back down in my crib.
I suddenly felt my cheeks flush, my head slowly started to feel excruciating, my small body suddenly felt like it was swimming in a pit of liquid fire and I felt something start to drip from my nose. I'm not sure what happened, but next thing I knew, I was in my mom's arms with her hands over my face. Now at the time I was only mildly confused on why she was putting her hands over my face when my body was feeling like it was melting but something amazing happened; water formed over her hands and a subtle light sparkled over the water. Now just seeing that was something that amazed me but she decided to up the cool factor by placing her hands on my forehead and I felt instant relief come over me.
I stared amazed at her when my body felt as if it were brand new, like able to stand up and take my first steps then and there.
She took her hands off of my forehead and smiled down at me.
"Are you ok Sokka?"
I'm not going to lie, it was kind of... nice? It was a very good feeling to have someone show so much love to you. I could definitely get used to this feeling. I reached out my chubby little hand and grabbed onto her hand, I tried to convey my gratitude for her assistance on what I thought was my early death.
She might've understood my intentions but I'm not too sure, what I do know is that she held onto my outstretched hand and before I knew what happened, I was already blissfully asleep.
Waking back up I didn't see any message appear and wondered if it was only once a day or something. I looked around and didn't see anyone in the tent with me. It was only myself and my cradle, not even my fellow baby was with me any longer. Deciding that the only reasonable option left for me, I started to wail until someone noticed me and brought me to where everyone was. I'm not going to lie, it was kind of funny to get their attention just by letting out some tears, they would just come running to me and check up on me.
Now after waiting a moment and seeing no one come running, I thought wow they must be deaf or something cause that one was probably my loudest cry to date. So I let out a second cry for a few minutes and when still no one came I started to get a little concerned about their hearing abilities.
Deciding to take matters into my own hands, I decided today was going to be my first steps to see what the hell was going on out there. Pushing my hands against my crib I was kind of shocked when they just ended up falling straight through the crib with me following along. Looking around I immediately noticed I was not in my home any longer, I was somewhere completely different.
A shrill scream echoed throughout the unknown….
You know that feeling you get when you wake up from a dream where you were falling? Well multiply that by 3 and that's probably how I felt at that moment
Calming myself down I took a look around and the first thing I noticed was that I was floating, which was kind of awesome; Beware demons! For I, the mighty floating baby will vanquish all that stands before me! 'Ahem', Looking around there was a lot of fog that was blocking the majority of my vision, I couldn't see anything past five feet. In front of me was a large, gnarled tree with its roots sticking to the air. It looked withered as if it hadn't had water in it in years.
Examining the tree I noticed there was a hole in it, peeking through it, I saw steps descending downwards. Alright, that confirms it, I'm not going anywhere near that tree. It's 100 percent a death trap and excuse me, but I like living. I attempted to move away from where I was floating, but found it was quite difficult to move. It wasn't impossible to move around, just challenging. Like I was using muscles I've never used before.
Making small movements away from the tree I didn't make it far before I heard a noise coming from behind me. Swirling around, I didn't see anything besides the tree and a strange centipede crawling on the bark. Doubling my efforts to float away from the tree, I glanced back ahead and a monkey was suddenly crouched on a rock right in front of me.
The monkey had its back turned to me, all I could see was its brown fur and a long curly tail.
For some reason gazing at the monkey gave me chills. It was as if I were being watched by thousands of eyes I couldn't see. Looking around it finally occurred to me I couldn't hear anything anymore, no birds, no animals, no rustling of the leaves, it was an absolute silence that engulfed me.
Now as I was floating there I thought to myself, if this was a dream I better wake the hell up right about now before I started screaming bloody murder. Mustering up the very small amount of courage I had buried underneath the slight fear I was feeling. Inching my way forward, cringing at every foot I was getting closer, until I was right behind the primate, hesitating. I reached my chubby little hands up to the brown furred monkey, just as I was about to touch it, the primate moved.
The monkey whipped its head around and got close to my face. I didn't move an inch, not because I couldn't but because the monkey made my mind go blank for a second. It didn't have a face, and I'm not talking about his face ripped off with blood and gore everywhere, No, I'm talking about where its face is supposed to be, there is just a patch of fur. No Eyes, No Nose, No Mouth, just a blank space.
Looking at the little guy gave me chills, it was bone chilling eerie. I'm not sure how but I felt like it was gazing straight into my eyes. I slowly started to inch away from the primate. Every inch was terrifying with its head trained onto me, even as I was trying to move out of its 'sight'.
Thump!
I felt myself fall, as if I tripped over a tree root. Now I'm not sure how the hell I tripped over something when I was floating a foot off the ground but it felt like I hit something then got pushed.
Groaning in pain, I pushed myself back up from the ground and looked around. The first thing I saw was that I was on a staircase leading downwards. Turning around I noticed I fell down the hole in the tree, there was only a bark of wood in its place. Sighing to myself at the absurd situation I found myself in, I floated up to where the entrance was and tried to push on the bark and realized it was useless with how solid the bark was. It felt harder than stone at the moment.
Turning around I stared at the staircase leading downwards and internally cringed. It was dark but not dark enough not to be able to see. With tears in my eyes I slowly but grudgingly made my way down the stairs.
One could call it a …..
Secret Tunnel …
…
'I'm not sure why but I suddenly want to sing.' I hummed.
Rattle, Rattle, Rattle
Twirling around again for what felt like the hundredth time today, I was met with a strange caterpillar, crawling along the roof of the tree. It was the same one I saw on the bark of the tree. Wait a minute. It must have been this fucker that tripped me into this hell hole! Floating upwards, guns blazing, I struck the bugger with all my chibi might.
And an epic fail that was. I completely missed my target and hit 4 inches to the right of it. Good thing is it didn't look for retribution and attack me, Bad thing is it scurried further down the staircase.
"GET BACK HERE YOU BASTARD!" Now logically speaking how could a caterpillar possibly trip me? I didn't really care if it did or not, this bug was just going to have to suffer with me in this hell hole.
Floating after it I completely pushed my fear of this dark creepy place, and only had the thought of venting my pent up anxiety from being in this dark staircase. Following it, I diligently kept my eyes on it when it suddenly just vanished. Looking around I noticed I found myself in what looked like a little room with roots covering the entire area.

"Welcome." A deadpanned voice boomed out.
With a yelp, I jumped backwards and saw a giant caterpillar with a female face attached where its caterpillar head was supposed to be. The woman's face was pale, with ruby red lipstick. Her eyes were gray with gray markings surrounding the eyes. Looking at the monstrosity that was in front of me made me tinkle my pants a little bit.
in a burst of speed it appeared in front of me in a flash. "Oh my, are you lost little one?" The creature asked while reaching forward with its claws.
With a smaller yelp than the first one, I jumped backwards. Staring blankly at the creature, the only thing I could think was, how outrageously gigantic it was (that's what she said). It completely towered over me, well I mean everyone towered over me so far but this was getting ridiculous.
"You poor little human….. How did you end up in such a place?" The creature drawled out.
'Well you see I don't really know either. I just fell asleep and next thing I know is, I was stuck in this creepy ass place.' I thought
"Blagh gyak." I spoke clearly. Letting him know my intentions.
Rattle, Rattle, Rattle
The monstrous form of the caterpillar maneuvered above me and started to circle around me like a snake would do to a prey.
"I must say this is the first time something like this has ever happened before." It rasped out. "There's not many things I don't know, but you… are most intriguing."
I felt a chill run up my spine.
The monster continued to circle around me, as if it were trying to observe me from all angles. Its gaze was piercing. The constant sound of its legs moving was beginning to unsettle me. Just when I started to feel myself on the verge of a panic attack it left me as fast as it came.
Gamers Mind Soothes You
Now feeling yourself go from fearful to calm is very…. Odd? That's the only word I could associate that feeling with. It felt a little uncomfortable to feel my emotions drain away from me like this but it also gave me a reassured feeling like someone was putting their hand on my back, like they were telling me they were there and everything was ok.
Looking around in a dazed state I was able to notice things I wasn't able to before, the room I stepped into was a lot bigger than I first thought. When I first walked in it looked pretty small but when I looked up I couldn't see any type of ceiling, just roots that went endlessly upwards.
Bringing my attention back to the giant caterpillar, I started to focus my eyes onto it and felt excruciating pain erupt into my head. Luckily my suffering wasn't for nothing.
Koh, The Face Stealer

Rubbing my eyes with my chubby fingers, I had to do a double take at the nameplate that appeared and promptly broke into a cold sweat. Grasping my head in hopes to soothe the mind splitting pain, I looked back over to the newly identified Ko-
"You just get more, and more interesting by the second." Koh said, excitement laced in their voice.
Just for the record I didn't squeak in shock because of what he said, no, I squeaked in shock because it had the face of a monkey! It had long, sharp fangs, with yellow, beady eyes. It had an elongated nuzzle with a distinctive red stripe running down the middle and protruding blue ridges running down on the sides. The fur was a bright white, it looked spotlessly clean, no blemishes anywhere on it.
'That's what it meant by a face stealer… but wait, does that mean it can steal mine? Fuck…' Internally murmuring I didn't notice Koh get closer.
"Child, you must simply tell me how you are doing it!" Koh rumbled out, barely able to keep the excitement contained.
All of a sudden I felt myself get hit with a sense of vertigo. My head started to spin, I couldn't see straight. The last thing I could see or hear was the giant caterpillar yelling out a swift wait.
XxX
Minutes before Sokka arrived at the tree
Outside of an old withered up tree, there was a small caterpillar crawling around near a body of water, using its reflective surface as if it were a mirror. If you took a very close look you could see that it didn't have the face of a caterpillar, instead it had a beautiful feminine face with wavy brown hair running down its carcass. The face had a radiant smile with brown eyes that seemed to sparkle.
All of a sudden the beautiful face, that shined like an angel, distorted into anger and seemed to change completely to that of another face. The new face that formed was an elder man with bright blue eyes. His expression of rage flared his white mustache before seamlessly changing into a kind expression.
This change happened within seconds.
After the caterpillar shifted into a few more faces it seemed content and started to make its way back to the withered up tree. As it was crawling it went past a brown furred monkey with a long curly tail. Looking closer at the monkey it had a small itsy inconsistency. It had no face.
The monkey was completely and utterly faceless, it had no eyes, mouth, nose, and not a hint of expressions. The monkey just sat on a rock, unmoving, even with the caterpillar crawling past it.
"Good day Albert." The caterpillar called out. The monkey remained stiff like a statue.
Just as the caterpillar was about to disappear in the depth of the tree a bright light flashed throughout the area.
The small caterpillar peaked out its head from the tree and saw a small child floating in the air. Its face shifted into a younger looking man who had an expression of shock on his face.
'Floating can only be done by using the energy around itself to keep themselves upright!' It thought.
Deciding to take a closer look, it crawled on the tree and started to observe the child. The child had a small patch of brown hair, blue eyes that seemed to shine, and a dark complexion. For some reason it threw its hand in the air and took on a very regal pose.
'This child must be a royal.' It mused to itself. 'I wonder what kind of expressions this one will make.'
The caterpillar silently observed the child peek into its lair.
'Yes, go ahead child, come closer.' It urged.
Before the child promptly turned around and slowly floated away.
'Why are you leaving so soon!' The caterpillar exclaimed, striking the wood.
The child swiftly turned around and observed its surroundings. It noticed the child's gaze lingered on its form for an extra second before looking away and resuming its course forward.
The blue eyed child suddenly paused, while looking straight ahead. Gazing forward to see what he was seeing and saw he was staring at his pet.
The monkey in the front was the very first face it stole and couldn't bear to let him go. So it kept the monkey restrained on the rock for all of eternity. Might have been a little harsh to keep him there but, quite honestly, Alberts the only friend it had, which was hard to believe in itself.
Looking back at the duo it decided to activate the barrier, which blocks out all outside noises. Albert moved closer to sense our guest when the small human went stiff and slowly started to inch backwards away from Albert.
'How rude can someone be when Albert only wanted to greet the child!' The caterpillar declared. 'Time to give that little human a taste of his own medicine.'
Pushing out a little bit of energy, it made the small child trip and fall straight into the tree. Following alongside the human, the caterpillar blocked off the exit with a wave of its claw.
Bark grew in an instant, covering up the entire entrance, as if it were there the entire time.
Watching the human float back up and push against the bark was amusing, but what took the cake was the child looked like he was on the verge of tears.
The blue eyed human clenched his fist, before slowly making their way down. The weirdest part was the human was humming something, and it was strangely making the caterpillar want to hum along.
While the caterpillar was distracted with its newly addicting song it was humming, the human boy had its eyes locked right on the caterpillar's form. There was a bright fire burning in the blue eyes of the child. The small human clenched their fists and floated to where the caterpillar was crawling.
When the caterpillar came back to realization it saw that the blue eyed child was right near it and that their fist was extended against one of the many roots of the tree. 'Did this human really try to strike me just now?'
Unsure of what to do, the caterpillar decided to just lure the human further down the staircase. Looking behind, it saw the human boy was chasing it floating far faster then he was originally. Deciding to shake the boy, the caterpillar waited until it scurried behind a tree root and with a burst of speed got behind the boy.
Maximizing its intimidation factor, the size of the caterpillar grew in an instant, it completely towered over the small child. The face shifted into a feminine mask, the woman's face was pale, with ruby red lipstick. Her eyes were gray with gray markings surrounding the eyes.
Clearing its throat and doing its utmost to sound terrifying it boomed out a deep welcome.
Watching the child jump in fright was amusing, looking into the little human's eyes, it knew that it could win whenever it wanted. The pure emotion the blue eyed human was showing was simply exquisite. Wanting to soak in as much emotions as it could, it decided to play.
Disappearing in a burst of speed it appeared face to face with the child.
"Oh my, are you lost little one?" It asked.
Wanted to grasp the emotions the human was exuding, it reached out with one of its many claws. Just as it was, oh so close, the little human jumped back once again.
Watching it stare up at me with those vivid ey-
That's not right?
The child was no longer exuding its emotions. The eyes that were once radiating emotions turned dim.
Interesting... Did it notice who this majestic being was? If so it was already too late, it could end this game anytime it wanted, but that wouldn't be fun now would it?
"You poor little human….. How did you end up in such a place?" It spoke, slowly inching forward.
The human looked up at the caterpillar with calm eyes and a gargled noise echoed through its mouth.
Watching the blue eyed child go from emotional to calm was intriguing, it required quite a bit of mental training to be able to do that. Circling around the human, it slowly coiled its monstrous form near the child.
"I must say this is the first time something like this has ever happened before. There's not many things I don't know, but you… are most intriguing." It rumbled down to the child.
It watched the child freeze up and felt the fear slowly starting to ooze out of the child. Oh my, it was much more delectable then the previous burst of emotion the human gave out. Wanting to feel more of the small humans emotions it slowly got closer and closer and clo-
THERE IT IS!
It's gone again.
All that pure emotions simply vanished into thin air. Looking into the blue eyed child's eyes it saw calmness once again, all that fear that was slowly building disappeared. The human was in a daze, the child slowly observed its surroundings before zoning back onto the caterpillar's form.
It felt a miniscule amount of spiritual energy pierce its very soul, it would've missed it too, if it wasn't so in tune with that skill set. It watched the child's face scrunch up in what looked to be an excruciating pain. Which why wouldn't it? It tried to scry on a soul much, much more powerful than itself. But that's besides the point, how can this child be capable of scrying? The caterpillar has only ever heard of one being capable of scrying and they passed long ago. A shame too it would've loved to steal their face.
"You just get more, and more interesting by the second." Excitement laced in its voice. The amount of knowledge you could possibly learn from being able to scry is simply captivating. 'If it were possible to somehow learn how to scry from this child... the possibilities were endless. Unknowingly to the caterpillar its face shifted to Alfreds.
'If I were to steal this human's face I should be able to learn how they are capable of scrying.'
The nature of the caterpillar's power lies in souls. Now whenever it steals a face, everything that being had learned throughout its life will be transferred to the caterpillar. The way it works is whenever a being shows any type of emotions, they subconsciously open a window to their soul. When a face gets stolen it's not necessarily their soul stolen per say. The part that gets stolen is the insides of the soul, the outer shell of the soul stays in the body. It's similar to going back to a newborn state, they lose all their memories and start from scratch, a side effect to it was them losing their face.
Reaching out with its spiritual energy, the caterpillar made its choice. It would devour this human and make its knowledge its own. Since it already saw the humans emotions numerous times getting to the soul wasn't hard, it was similar to having a key. It slipped by all the walls a soul naturally had in place, except there was one wall that reigned over all the other walls.
The wall was simply exorbitant, no matter how the caterpillar looked at it there was no possible way to slip past it, it was impenetrable. A wave of pure power echoed out of the wall, the caterpillar couldn't move an inch, the power it was exuding was suffocating. The spiritual power that was laced in the human was expelled in an instant.
Looking down at the child in shock, it couldn't believe how powerful the protection this soul has. The power level dwarfed even its mother, the Mother of Faces, one of the most powerful ancient beings still alive.
"Child, you must simply tell me how you are doing it!" It rumbled out, inching closer by the second.
All of a sudden the caterpillar felt the energy that was keeping the child here vanish, it tried to quickly spit out its own spiritual energy to keep the child tied to its realm but the protection that was surrounding its soul instantly shattered its spirit energy.
All the caterpillar could do was yell out a swift wait in hopes that it could stop the human from leaving, but at last the human simply vanished in thin air.
'What was that human? Why was it so thoroughly protected? Not even the avatar could escape its grasp.' It thought absentmindedly. It didn't make sense, no matter how it thought about it. Only the Mother of Faces has ever shrugged of its attempt, not that it would ever want to steal her face, it just wanted to be closer with her.
It doesn't matter, that humans soul was very distinctive, no matter how long it takes when that child returns the caterpillar will get its answers one way or another. It swore when it gave itself its name that it would only allow the being, Mother of Faces, to be stronger than itself. Any other being no matter who, it would steal their face and consume their knowledge.
The day it couldn't catch the prey it set its eyes on was the day it would give up its self given name... Koh.
AN:
Yo this is a new Avatar fic, Partial SI into Sokka. For those who have seen my other stories the Naruto one will eventually be redone I mainly just kept writing whatever came to mind and lost track on what I wanted on it, plus it was sloppily executed. The Rosario one will probably be redone as well, mainly because I lost the chapters I had stocked up on it. Yup a solid 10 chapters gone like the wind *Sigh* Anyways I'm going to be working on this one for a bit. Already have chapter 2 done while 3 is half way done.
Enjoy
