Immortal Beloved
Author's notes: Sup. With this semester over I am able to write without mixing business or pleasure. PS next semester is less writing heavy… Final semester WOO! Remember I don't charge for my writings, take commissions nor do I require you to join a Patron to read any of them. Don't complain about something you don't have to pay for. This is for my amusement not yours. With that being said, how about we reimagine one of DC stories. Personally I hate Immortal Beloved. I mean if I got a get of jail free card with Chris Evans or Adam Driver, I'm using it. I care about my boyfriend, he knows if I got a chance I am allowed to take it. Lol. The real problem with the original story there was no growth of character by the end of the story. They were in Asgard fighting in Ragnarok. Are you going to tell me that they didn't have to adapt to the world they were stuck in? Imagine seeing death and destruction for 1000 years, now tell me you wouldn't be scarred for life because of it. I have always thought one of the main reasons why Diana and Clark never got together in the main universe was because Diana grew up not with Prince Charming but with Achillies, Thesesus, and Odysseus. Does Clark sound remotely any of them? Nope. Clark is a clean shaven, child in her eyes. He isn't a hardened warrior. Hell Steve Trevor was a soldier, something Clark has never been. He doesn't love the battle and would rather not shed blood. I imagine the Amazons functioning very much like Sparta. I don't think Smallville prepared him for that Spartan life. They were known for the love of the fight, Clark actively tries to avoid it. Remember he doesn't kill his villains, Diana does. You don't let gods, demons or monsters live. The cost of life is too high if you do.
If you were imaginative one might play with the idea of Clark being forced to grow up in Diana's eyes over the 1000 years he spends in Asgard or stripping Diana down. When does the fight become too much even for War herself. What happens when she is unable to stop the fighting as a god? So many questions that could have been answered, but you know the power of the Captain Save a Hoe. It kills creativity. Thankfully I'm immune to the Save a Hoe disease. Lol, let's go down this rabbit hole. (PS There will be no kid in this story. There are worse consequences than oh they have a kid.)

The Temple of Apollo on Themyscira
Five years ago
A young woman shrouded in white robes knelt before an altar surrounded by a thick gray smoke. Flanked by two armed guards, her breath filled the smoke filled temple.
"What brings you here princess?"
A voice bellowed up from beyond the altar. The two guards reached for the hilts of the blades. The kneeling woman lifted her hand causing the guards to stand down.
"Fucking priestesses," one of the guards cussed under her breath.
"Mind your tongue old soldier," the voice hissed. "Or I'll tell you what suffering you shall endure in life…"
The kneeling woman looked over her shoulder and towards her left.
She sighted, "It will be fine, Alexa."
She lowered her hood as she spoke revealing a tanned face and raven hair.
"Please forgive Alexa's harsh manner," she added as she turned her head back towards the altar.
The voice cackled, "We have dealt with far worst…. What has brought you here Princess."
"Some priestess," Alexa snorted. "Should you already know why she has come?"
The kneeling woman closed her eyes and called upon Minverva.
"Alexa please," she said as she struggled to keep her growing rage in check. "It is for formality's sake…"
"Formalities my ass…." Alex interjected.
The priestess's voice laughed with amusement, "She fears that Man's World will take the princess away from her…."
"A yes," a second voice added. "How annoyed will she be when he takes her away from her…"
Alexa spat in the direction of the altar.
"I'd like to see someone try…" Alexa grumbled under her breath.
The kneeling woman took several deep breaths before she spoke once more.
"I Diana wish to ask of my future," the woman asked as she lowered her head.
The pitched cackle of the priestesses rang out throughout the cavernous temple. The kneeling woman lifted her head slightly. Dark shadowy figures had surrounded the temple's inner wall. A massive plume of smoke seeped up from the altar. Through the smoke a lone priestess stood atop the altar. Chants to Apollo rang throughout the temple.
"Crimson eyes…" the priestess on the altar cackled.
"Beware…." the priestesses alongside the temple walls answered back.
The kneeling woman's head shot up.
"Priestess?" she asked, her face puzzled.
"Beware the god with crimson eyes," the priestess continued.
"You're not speaking in riddles," the kneeling woman said. "There is no red eyed god…"
"God of the earth born from the heavens…."
The kneeling woman shook her head.
"Speak plainly," she said. "I do not understand what your words mean..."
The priestess on the altar body bent over backwards as another towering plume of smoke shot up towards the heavens. The smoke wrapped around her body as she stepped down from the altar. Her smoked covered body crawled towards the kneeling woman on the floor. As she moved, the smoke moved with her. Her nakedness underneath showed through as she moved on all fours.
Once more Alexa reached for her blade.
"Vile creature!" she hissed as she charged towards the moving priestess.
"Back!" the priestess hissed.
Alexa and the other guard were stopped in her tracks. Their bodies were thrown backwards and away from the kneeling woman. Before the kneeling woman could react the priestess had her pinned on the ground with her smoke covered hands on the woman's chest.
"He'll bring the wrath of the golden one upon our head…" the priestess hissed as she moved her face inches from the woman.
The woman fought against the priestess's touch to no avail.
"The false son shall be his arm of vengeance," the priestess added.
The chanting around the temple increased until the temple pillars began to shake.
"The destroyer of worlds shall come…."
…..
"Wonder Woman…."
The ground beneath the woman started to crack.
"The destroyer shall come…"
"Diana… Diana..."
The woman screamed as she fell backwards through the floor.
….
Present day
Wonder Woman's eyes shot open to a 'S' of Superman's uniform in her face.
"You must have been having some nightmare," Superman said. "Your heart was beating so fast I thought I'd have to call J'onzz…"
As he spoke Wonder Woman felt the heat rush towards her face from the closeness of Superman. She immediately pushed him away from her.
"Stand further off," she hissed.
Superman allowed himself to float back away from her.
"I'm sorry," he said. "You were thrashing about…"
Wonder Woman sat up and looked around her surroundings. She was surrounded by monitors and cold steel. She was no longer in her chambers.
"You carried me all the way to the medical bay…" she said as she stood to her feet. "Because I had a bad dream…."
"There was screaming too," he added shyly.
Wonder Woman took in a deep sigh. She closed her eyes and saw the haunting image of the priestess of Apollo's face.
"Will you see I am fine now…."
Superman took a step towards her and reached out for her arm.
"If you're having bad dreams maybe you need to talk with…." he started to say but she cut him off.
"I am fine," she replied coldly as she pulled away from his grasp.
Wonder Woman turned away from Superman and walked out of the med bay.
Alert…. Alert….
Incoming threat…
All Senior League members must report to the teleporter room
….Alert…
Wonder Woman let out a blessing from her lips, "Gaea be praised."
Superman heard her but before he could speak to her she had already made her way down the hall.
"She'll come around Clark,"
Superman started to lift off of the floor as he heard J'onzz voice.
"It's been over five years, J'onzz," Superman sighed as he flew down the hallway. "I don't think she'll come around. She just doesn't like me…"
"I highly doubt that is the reason she…."
Superman chuckled, "...Treats me like I am evil Satan…"
J'onzz laughed, "I wouldn't go that far with it…"
"Evil soul sucking creature with a penis," Superman replied.
"Well, you said it,"
"Maybe Lois might…." Superman said as he reached the teleporter room.
Wonder Woman's body was dematerializing as he approached. She rolled her eyes at him.
"I don't think that would help you Clark," J'onzz replied as he stood beside Superman.
Touching his shoulder, J'onzz smiled at Superman.
"Remember her article…."
Superman palmed his face.
"Lesbian or Not: The Wonder Woman Question…." Superman hissed as he stepped on the teleporter pad. "You're right, that would probably make her hate me more…"
J'onzz pulled Superman around to face him.
"Diana is fearful of something involving you," J'onzz said as he gave Superman a pat on his shoulder.
Superman's face scrunched up as J'onzz spoke.
"She told you she fears me?" Superman asked.
J'onzz shook his head.
"Her eyes tell me all I need to know," J'onzz said. "Maybe you should try looking into them for yourself. You might learn why she treats you the way she does…."
"Sure…." Superman said as he started to dematerialize. "See ya top side…."
As Superman's body broke down into trillions of tiny pieces, he saw a bright flash of light blaze past him. It cracked down past him like lightning. In-between worlds Superman saw the flash of light land right beside Wonder Woman. It was a towering male figure. Rage filled him. He wasn't really sure why. It was like when he saw Coronel Trevor with her when she first arrived. Superman balled his hands into a fist as his body came back together.
"... War god." the blond man said.
Superman rushed towards the blond man and grabbed him by his throat.
"Who are you?" Superman growled. "Why did you call her War…."
The blond man's eyes turned white as the sky rumbled.
"You are fast boy," the blond man gasped. "But I am faster…"
A crack of lightning ripped through the sky and down towards Superman. Wonder Woman immediately pushed Superman away from the blond man.
"Stop it," Wonder Woman hissed at Superman.
The lightning struck the ground at Superman's feet.
"Forgive the foolish mortal Lord Thor…" She added.
"Thor?" Superman asked. "Like the god of thunder, Thor…"
"Go handle the burning building Superman," Wonder Woman shouted. "This doesn't involve you."
"J'onzz and the others will handle that," Superman said. "I'm not leaving you with him."
"I see the boy isn't as ignorant as I thought," Thor growled.
Wonder Woman turned her gaze away from Superman and back towards Thor.
"He is a fool Lord Thor…" Wonder Woman said coldly.
"Hey!" Superman said.
"A fool with great strength, War god," Thor added. "I could have use for him in this battle…"
Wonder Woman shook her head.
"He is no use to you," Wonder Woman added as she stood between them. "I'll go with you. He will stay here."
Superman walked up behind Wonder Woman.
"You aren't taking her anywhere without me," Superman said.
"A willing soldier for the cause," Thor boasted. "Your strength will be welcome in the battle of Ragnarok…"
In a panic she tried to push Superman out of the opening Bifrost but it was too late.
Thor had already opened the Bifrost. In a flash the warmth of the Earth's sun vanished to the coldness of the World's Tree…
