Angel: Yes, I am doing this AU! As an actual story this time. I was unsure of doing it, and I did it as a one-shot in my Tangled One-Shot story. But now I wanna do it for real. And this story is thanks to all of the artists who made fan-art based off my stories. Hopefully they're reading, because this is for them! I will also post this on DeviantArt for them as well.

The artists include DeviantArt artists jebens1 (who actually drew Harmony's designs from the show and Hana Hamada), Yellowdrake26 (she drew Amy from my Randy Cunningham story, and is still drawing her with my TREMENDOUS permission), PrincessParthenope (she did Amy from TMNT 2012 a few years ago), Crazycartoons5488 (Drew Harmony as well), Wattpad artist RedBat132 (she is also on Deviantart, but the art she did for me isn't on there, which was also Amy from TMNT 2012), Wattpad artist RocketRaccoon16 (she for some reason does not have a page anymore, but she drew Amy from TMNT shows before they were suddenly gone) and finally, someone on Fanfiction who sent me drawings of Harmony through my email, which was Jenna (can't say her full username). She was a guest at first until she made an account just to send the pictures to me. If you have not seen any of these drawings from the public websites, go do so, because they deserve the views and this story.

For the first time in forever, I am taking story and/or song ideas for this story only, but I only ask for 2 things in return.

1. Please keep ideas limited and basic. Don't send a bunch in rapid succession or else I will basically go insane ^^'. Nothing too crazy either.

2. No requests for rewrites no matter what.

I only say these because I got both of these from my Big Hero 7 series during a few episodes of season 3 and I just don't want a repeat. Plus someone kept asking me to rewrite ALL of Season 2 of my Sisters' Tangled Adventure while it was still being written and that was definitely not something that should've happened nor something I'd want to…

This is mostly taken from that one-shot story I mentioned, but I kind of expanded on it. But obviously some stuff will be changed to fit the universe that I wrote from Sisters' Tangled Adventure. Speaking of, I recommend you read that story if you haven't, where Harmony first appeared. I'm bringing up references from that story in which events from it can only be understood to those who know what happened.

It's also been 10 years that Tangled was released!

Yes! We finally get to narrate one of these things! I see why Eugene does it, this is exciting.

I've never done this kind of thing before, Mona...maybe we should let Eugene and your sister handle it?

Oh don't worry, Vari, you'll get the hang of it! Where were we? Ah! This is the story...of how I died.

Wrong story!

Oh, whoops, that was the first one where everything began, and Eugene met Rapunzel.

This is the story of the day our lives ended—wait, no, that was when they got married. My bad.

That's because it's always been about them...Anyway, this is our story, not theirs! They always get attention. I'm sure you all know the stories about Varian and I—moonstone, path to villainy, and then finally finding where we belong, right? Well, not entirely wrong. We did eventually found our own places within Corona.

I have my dad, friends, a girlfriend, a job that I love, and of course Ruddiger!

And I have my sister, a family, a boyfriend, a destiny fulfilled...and blueberry pie. We might have all the things that our adventure has ended with...

But our story actually isn't over, because getting to our own happily ever after is a whole other adventure...

Ooh, nice one. A few months have passed ever since the defeat of Zhan Tiri, and one fateful day would change everything for the both of us.

Two people were facing a large boiler, wearing matching grey bautas, black and grey coats, and they both have a glow from yellow-green eyes. One of them was wearing dark brown gloves with straps, while the other person was wearing black gloves.

Both of them let out evil laughter before chirping was heard. Ruddiger and Daisy ran past them with goggles on, Daisy holding Ruddiger's apple.

"Ruddiger, Daisy," The second person spoke up, lifting up her bauta to reveal herself as Harmony. Her hair was in a low ponytail, her bangs slightly messy as she was holding Flynnoleum in her left hand. "We're trying to finish."

The other person lifted up his bauta to reveal himself as Varian. "Once we're done finishing up this hot water system to Equis, we can take a break," He suggested to her and she smiled at him.

"I can't believe we're installing the last hot water system in all of the seven kingdoms," She stepped back, wiping off sweat from her forehead.

"I can't believe we're doing it for Equis," Varian grunted out the name, Harmony turning to him.

"Relax, the king's nephew is long gone. He won't be coming back to Corona any time soon."

The only reason why they were doing this was because Varian was asked to. It was his job to venture out and create inventions for various kingdoms, even the ones he didn't like. After Trevor the Third tried to steal Harmony from him, he had a distaste for Equis and King Trevor. It just brought him bad vibes, which wasn't ideal for building...but that was why Harmony came with him, to keep him calm if he needed.

Trevor the Third himself had since left Equis and hadn't returned ever since he visited his uncle. Not that Varian cared. His uncle was still kind of a jerk, but wasn't pursuing Arianna anymore.

After they defeated Zhan Tiri together, both of them immediately dived right into their work. With him being the Royal Alchemist and her Co-Queen of Corona, they both thrived with their jobs. He loved having creative control of what to do for the kingdom, and she loved ruling with her older sister, Co-Queen Rapunzel. Of course, with both of them being only 16 with big jobs, it sometimes got a little busy and/or draining. But they always made it work somehow little by little each day. It was like he had more confidence with his inventions the day Zhan Tiri was vanquished, even if sometimes there was an occasional explosion. And he loved having his father help him with his inventions. Quirin had grown more supportive of him, and he couldn't ask for anything more.

Meanwhile, Harmony had continued inventing, but her royal duties had to come first. Which did sometimes made her miss doing one of the things she loved, but she hadn't totally stopped inventing. In fact, with Varian as inspiration, that part of her world had only just begun. She was working on creating a better way to gather crops instead of hand-picking them, but that one was still in the brainstorm phase.

Both of them still missed Cassandra, their friend who had gone off to find her own destiny, but Rapunzel arguably was the most impacted by her absence. Sometimes she and Harmony would exchange stories about her, and all of them wrote letters for Owl to take to her. He had become somewhat of a messenger between them and Cass. He always seemed to know where she was all the time, so he was their best way of checking up on her from time to time.

Eugene enjoyed his job as well, though still had a few hiccups while working. Luckily Max was always there to help out if things ever went...well, not good. His father Edmund popped in for a visit every now and then, sometimes with Adira and Hector. After Hector apologized to Harmony about the whole trying to kill her thing, they were good friends. Harmony usually talked to them whenever she had questions about the moonstone or the sundrop, the latter she was still learning how to use. After her sister gave her both powers, she continued using them, mostly if needed. She had the power to use all four incantations, and create black rocks. However, she lost the ability to sense evil. Everything came with a price she supposed.

Lance had started dating Adira after she finally gave him a chance. She seemed...less annoyed with him than she usually did after she made that choice. Harmony was happy for them, but she just hoped that he wouldn't do anything to make her regret it.

Kiera and Catalina were still underneath Harmony's guardianship, and they chose to live in the castle to be closer to her. Officially, if she wanted to, she would get to adopt them as her own when she turned 18. But she was only 16, and she still had time to make that choice.

All of their other friends who they had encountered had all moved on as well. Vex was now a Sargeant instead of a Deputy, and the Baron's daughters had found love—with single people this time. Meanwhile the Baron himself was still in prison for what he did, and his daughters still show no interest in seeing him again. Unfortunately, they cut all ties with him for what he did to Lance, and blackmailing Eugene and Varian. They had become good friends with Rapunzel and Harmony, sending letters to them every once in a while. Quaid was still sheriff, but thanks to Rapunzel, he had helped regrow Vardaros back to its former glory. Madame Canardist was still...scamming people as usual with Vigor, but they didn't curse any people anymore at least...Calliope was loving her job as Keeper of the Spire, and she popped in for a visit once.

It wasn't all fun.

Willow was still traveling the world, but sent gifts to her nieces from her travels to enjoy, and had grown closer to Arianna.

The Hook Brothers had become famous together, and Seraphina had reunited with Hook Foot. Some villains were still out there such as Lady Caine and Weasel, but they had not shown themselves in Corona for a while. They were, however, still wanted in all of the seven kingdoms.

And finally, her relationship with Varian was the one thing in her life that didn't change—at least, not majorly. Not that she minded, she still loved him and he felt the same way. They grew a little bit closer after the defeat of Zhan Tiri, even being asked to be the man and maid of honor at her sister's wedding. Which, they were both thrilled about since the two were very important in their lives.

The two teenagers exited Equis on Silver, heading back home with Daisy and Ruddiger, done for the day.

"I was thinking we could go to Attilla's and have some butternuts," She smiled softly from behind him.

"Oh thank you," He sighed in relief. "I wasn't sure how much longer I could handle being in there. It just reminds me that his nephew tried to marry you."

"I love you too much to let that kind of thing stop us," She grinned up at him, kissing his cheek warmly. He smiled at the sentiment.

"I love you too, Mona."

Their pets smiled at their bond, just happy that they both had a significant other like Eugene and Rapunzel.

Soon after, they arrived back in Corona, some people waving to them. Harmony waved back, Varian smiling at a few people. After he helped with the red rocks and saving Corona, more and more people were starting to forgive him for his previous misdeeds. They started to see him for him, and not someone always blowing things up. But nowadays, he didn't care about that anymore. He was comfortable with all his friends and Harmony willing to trust him again.

They reached Attila, who waved to two people leaving with some cookies. Harmony dismounted Silver, patting his snout lovingly. Varian opened the door for her and she entered, the pub thug beaming at the sight of them. Well, at least what could be beaming behind that helmet.

"Varian! Your highness! Good to see you!"

"Still need to work on the highness stuff, but hi Attila," Harmony waved to him kindly.

"Two butternuts, please," Varian gave him some silver, turning to Harmony. "Seems just like yesterday we were helping him with being accused of destroying Monty's."

She chuckled at the memory as Attila took out some already prepared butternuts. "That was definitely fun being a defense attorney, but nowadays it feels weird since my sister and I are now judges in court..."

"You can handle it. If it was someone else, then I'd be worried," He told her as Attila handed them the butternuts and an apple for Silver. They waved to him as they left. The horse neighed happily at the sight of the apple, and she held it out to him.

"Hm, true. I guess by watching my Papa, I have a lot of court exp-"

Seven Kingdoms...

They blinked, glancing around for the source of the voice, but no one around them had spoken.

"Did you hear that?" Harmony murmured in confusion, Daisy and Ruddiger glancing to each other weirdly.

"Yeah...maybe we're just tired from Equis and giving them hot running water." He hugged her waist, placing her on Silver gently. "I should get you home. Come on, guys."

He jumped onto Silver, Ruddiger crawling up the tail as Daisy landed on Harmony's hair. Somehow, the two teens didn't feel like the voice would go away anytime soon...

A tall boy with blonde hair, the left side of his head shaved, freckles, and glasses lurked from an alley. The boy had a few piercings on his ears, a pair of silver goggles around his neck. The lens were yellow. He had a green shirt with six black buttons, long sleeves, and metal bracelets with matching shoulder pads. He had on brown fingerless gloves on and dark green pants, and brown boots. He watched them leave from an alleyway, a small smirk on his face.

It was almost dark by the time Varian and Ruddiger dropped off Harmony and got home. While Corona itself had been using his inventions, Old Corona was the one exception. His father supported him immensely, he had ever since Zhan Tiri was defeated. But trying to convince his people to use the inventions was a whole other story. They weren't used to that kind of technology, and it was hard to trust it after the automatons attacked the princesses...

Varian set down his backpack, Quirin appearing in the living room. "Had a good day, son?"

"Besides doing stuff for Equis," He rolled his eyes. "It was good. Mona says hi."

Quirin gave him a hug. "How is she doing? I haven't seen her or her family in a while."

"She's great," Varian smiled lovingly, clearing his throat when his father gave him an amused smile. "That is, uh..."

"I'm just happy that my son has someone he cares for so much," Quirin interrupted, placing a hand on his shoulder. Varian smiled up at him. "Good night, son."

"Goodnight, Dad," He ran up the stairs to his room.

Scarlett...

He flinched at the name, eyes wide. He definitely heard it that time...he snapped out of it and walked to his room. Maybe after a nap, he'll stop hearing it.

After everyone, including Varian, was asleep in Old Corona, he thought it'd be the end of it...

Except that it wasn't.

Seven Kingdoms...

Varian placed a pillow over himself, groaning.

Scarlett...

Harmony opened a sleepy eye, confused and groggy. "Mm?"

Alchemy and magic working as one...

Varian rolled over in his sleep, trying to block it out.

Eternal Library...

Clearly neither of them would get any sleep tonight... Varian sat up in bed as Harmony got out of hers. Both of them sighed in annoyance at the voices, Harmony stepping up to the doors that lead to her balcony.

Into the unknown

Into the unknown

Varian glanced around his room.

Into the unknown

Harmony burst out of the balcony, stepping forward and looking out to Corona.

Seven Kingdoms...

I can hear you

But I won't

Varian looked to a picture that Rapunzel painted of him, Harmony, and all their friends. She gave that to him as a birthday present, even though he insisted that she didn't have to.

Some look for trouble

While others don't

He walked up to the framed painting, holding it in his hands.

Harmony gripped the railing of her balcony.

There's a thousand reasons

I should go about my day

She glanced over her shoulder, biting her lip.

And ignore your whispers

She turned away and walked back into her room, peeking out the door.

Which I wish would go away

Oh

Scarlett...

You're not a voice

Varian clenched a fist once he put down the painting, squeezing his eyes shut.

You're just a ringing in my ear

Harmony was now walking down the halls, looking around.

And if I heard you, which I don't

She looked away in denial, waving a finger.

I'm spoken for, I fear

She continued on down the hall, determined to get those voices out of her head! And why was she hearing them, anyway? It always repeated, and half the stuff she didn't know what it was about.

Everyone I've ever loved is here within these walls

Varian caressed the photo of his father and then a photo of him and Harmony.

I'm sorry, secret siren

But I'm blocking out your calls

Harmony covered her ears with her hands.

I've had my adventure

Despite that, Varian stepped towards the door, curious about the voices.

I don't need something new

Harmony turned to a window looking out the kingdom, running down a hall.

I'm afraid of what I'm risking if I follow you

Into the unknown!

Both of them burst doors open out of their homes, Varian running towards a field. Harmony lifted up her skirt, rushing down the stairs that were from the entrance.

Into the unknown!

Varian stood at the top of the field, looking up at the stars.

Into the unknown!

Harmony twirled around as she walked down the stone pathway of Corona's town.

Alchemy and magic working as one...

What do you want?

Cause you've been keeping me awake

Harmony looked up at the moon, wondering what the voices were really trying to tell her. What if it was all intentional for her to hear all this?

Are you here to distract me so I make a big mistake?

Varian was looking at the moon as well, wondering if the voices could hear or see him.

Or are you someone out there who's a little bit like me?

He looked down at his hand, feeling a bit out of place in his own town since his inventions weren't looked highly upon...he may love his job, but he wanted to reach all of Corona with his work.

Who knows deep down I'm not where I'm meant to be?

Every day's a little harder

As I feel your power grow

Harmony looked up at Mount Saison as Varian saw the highest hill in his village.

Don't you know there's part of me that longs to go?

Into the unknown

They both headed for the highest points, running as fast as they could.

Into the unknown

The voices for them got stronger as they got closer to their destinations. Varian jumped over a log as Harmony pushed past tree branches.

Into the unknown

Harmony was suddenly surrounded by moon beams and she smiled in awe. Varian climbed up the hill as she reached the path to Mount Saison.

Seven Kingdoms...

Are you out there?

Varian ran past a tree.

Do you know me?

Harmony ran past several trees.

Can you feel me?

Varian was definitely not an athlete, but he made do, like the time he got through the snowstorm to reach Corona or the time he climbed to get to Demanitus' tomb. This had to be important somehow with all these voices.

Can you show me?

Ah

Harmony started to vocalize as she was reaching the top of the mountain.

Ah

Varian reached out to the sky with his hand.

Ah

Harmony moved her hands to control the moon beams as they swirled around her.

Ah

Varian trudged up the hill, Harmony reaching the top.

Where are you going?

Don't leave me alone

How do I follow you?

Varian reached the top and they both looked out to the sky, Harmony reaching out a hand as their hair flew in the breeze.

Into the unknown!

Harmony thrust out her arms as the moon beams exploded into sparkles.

Scarlett...

Varian furrowed his brows at the name as Harmony looked away in thought. Both of them gasped in realization on where they'd heard it before.

"Varian's mother/Mom...?" They murmured in unison.

Harmony entered the castle, only to be met with a stern-looking older brunette.

"Ah! ...Punzie, you scared me!" She whispered, looking around to see if anyone else was awake.

"I came into your room to give you a midnight snack, and you weren't in bed! Where were you?" She frowned a bit in worry. Rapunzel had taken some precaution ever since her sister literally had her power sucked out of her by Cassandra. Granted, Cassandra wasn't exactly herself back then since she was acting out of anger towards them, but she still worried for the life of her little sister.

"Well...this is gonna sound weird, but...you ever hear voices in your head?"

Rapunzel raised a curious brow.

"Huh..." She murmured as the two sisters sat together on Harmony's bed, Eugene also being there for support. Harmony had just told them everything. "What do you think it all means?"

"I don't know, really. This is completely different from the whole black rocks thing," Harmony looked down at her left palm which had the moon symbol on it. "I never really heard voices before, which tells me that this is something I have to discover on my own..."

"But what would Varian's mother have to do with it?" Eugene's eyes softened a little.

"I wish I knew...but first thing tomorrow, I'm gonna find out," Harmony looked out the window towards Old Corona.

"Just be careful Brownie, okay? I don't think we don't need another scare like the time you almost fell off your balcony during a dream."

She hummed in amusement. "No, I won't be doing anything like that again, Eugene."

"Well, goodnight," Her sister kissed her forehead.

"See you tomorrow," Eugene waved to her as they stood up and left the room. Harmony sighed, getting into bed and closing her eyes.

The next day, Varian and Harmony met up with each other in front of the local library.

"Something crazy happened last night!" They both shouted in unison, confusing them both.

"Voices in your head?" Harmony asked him quickly.

"As in the Eternal Library, seven kingdoms, and..." Varian looked away, both of them staying silent. He hadn't mentioned his mother ever since he told Harmony what he could remember about her, which wasn't much. All he knew was that he became an alchemist because of her, and then after about a year or so, she was gone...he still had no idea what happened to her.

Harmony placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, earning a hug in return. She hugged him back, pulling away a few moments later.

A few minutes later, they were searching the shelves for anything related to the Seven Kingdoms, alchemy and magic, or the Eternal Library. So far, they were coming up short as nothing even remotely close came up.

"Nothing?" Varian asked the brunette, who sighed.

"No..."

"It must be really hidden if it's not in a library for us to find," He put a hand on his cheek.

"But what would your mother have to do with the voices we both heard? Why am I hearing it too?" She glanced at him over her shoulder, earning no answer. Neither one of them had a solution for that one since there was no obvious connection between Harmony and Varian's mother. They were born in the same year, but Harmony was stuck in the castle during her childhood, and Scarlett wasn't around Corona long for them to meet.

The same boy who was looking at them yesterday stealthily planted something in Varian's apron pocket. He disappeared as soon as he came.

Harmony sighed as she walked up to Varian, who tapped his chin in front of a shelf. "...Hey, what's that?"

"Hm?" He dug into his pocket, opening up a piece of paper to find a note.

Ask your father to give Scarlett's journal and about Donella.

"What...?" Varian murmured in confusion. "Mom had a journal?"

"Why would your father keep that a secret?" Harmony raised a brow. "And who even is Donella?"

"I don't know..." He gripped the paper in his hand. "But I'm definitely going to find out."

"Vari..." Harmony placed a hand on his shoulder. "Keep in mind that your father doesn't talk much about his personal life. He probably wanted to protect you, which is why he didn't say anything about the Brotherhood."

"That didn't stop Hector from attacking us!" Varian squeezed his eyes shut, taking a deep breath.

"Well...good luck then," She told him and he placed a hand on top of the one on his shoulder, squeezing her hand.

"Thank you, Mona, for being here for me..."

"Of course..." She rested her chin on his shoulder and he kissed her hand.

The blonde boy, Hugo, approached a white-haired woman who had a scar across her left cheek. "Is it done?"

"They know about the journal, Mother," He smirked a bit. "They're so oblivious."

"Now we wait for the journal to eventually fall into my lap, along with the power of the moonstone and sundrop," She smiled sinisterly at her plan coming together.

The walk back home was a long one as a million thoughts were going through Varian's head. What was he dealing with here? And who left that note? How did they know Quirin had something to do with all this?

He reached the front door of his cottage, opening the door to see his father setting up dinner.

He hadn't eaten much since he had been focused on the new information he learned today, something Harmony would've killed him for if he had let that slip out. He was always working and never taking care of himself, something she wished he'd stop.

"How was your day, son?" Quirin asked as he put down a bowl of soup and some bread to go along with it.

"Fine," Varian's response was forced, causing the man to look up at him.

"Something wrong, son?"

"You could say that," He dug into his apron pocket, pulling out the paper. He smoothed it out and gave it to Quirin.

He paused and then looked up at Varian.

"Where did you get this?"

"It doesn't matter. I deserve to know about this, Dad. I'm 16, I'm not a child anymore. I wanna know more about Mom," Varian slightly narrowed his eyes.

Quirin frowned at him. "That's enough, Varian."

Varian frowned right back at him. "Dad. I didn't hide what I did to Corona from you when you were released from the amber."

"That doesn't give you the right-"

"Doesn't it?!" Varian snapped at him. "I deserve to know the truth! You didn't find out what I did from anyone else, I told you. My mother's name...it was Scarlett, wasn't it?"

Quirin took a deep breath, walking over to his chest that had the Brotherhood symbol on it. Varian watched as he opened it and took out a dark green journal. The title of it was 'The Trials of the Seven Kingdoms by Scarlett'. He handed it to Varian.

"I never thought I'd have to talk about this again, but if I must..." He sighed a bit. "Yes, Scarlett was your mother. When I wrote you that letter...I lied about what it contained. While I did write that I was proud of you, and I still am, I also wrote about the Brotherhood, and the Dark Kingdom. And...I wrote about the journal," He glanced away sadly. "I didn't tell you because so much had happened to you already. Your criminal actions...saving Corona, your job, your relationship with Harmony."

Varian looked at the book, caressing the name on it. "Is Mom...alive? And who's Donella?"

"We do not speak of that name in this house!" Quirin spoke up strongly, earning a wide-eyed look from Varian.

"Why? Was she important to Mom?"

"Too much in my opinion," Quirin sighed, pinching his nose. "I met Scarlett in Old Corona after the black rocks had driven everyone away from the Dark Kingdom. Your mother was a brilliant alchemist, such as yourself. She and Donella were research partners, and Donella was more into magic than alchemy. They were strategizing ways to complete a series of trials within the seven kingdoms...something about an eternal library. I was supportive, but when we had you, she was reluctant to continue her studies once she realized she'd be away. Donella convinced your mother that a chance like this only happened once in a lifetime and they had worked too hard to get this far to call it quits."

Varian could tell that Quirin didn't feel the same way as he gritted his teeth. "With a heavy heart, she left, leaving a promise to return...but she never did."

He closed his eyes, remembering the day Donella came to his door. "Months later, Donella came back with your mother's journal, claiming that something horrible happened to her. She didn't elaborate, nor would she tell me what happened when I asked. And since you were too young to understand, I...hid the journal and never looked back."

The boy looked at the journal sadly. He knew the truth, but being mad at his father didn't give him the answers he needed. All Quirin was trying to do was protect Varian, just like when he didn't tell him about the Brotherhood.

"To answer your first question Varian, I don't know," Quirin opened his eyes to look at Varian. "Your mother could be still alive, but trapped somewhere. Even if I tried to find out, all the research in her journal are riddles to me."

"...I need to know more," Varian looked up at him, gripping the book. "I think Mom would've wanted me to follow in her footsteps and complete what she'd been researching."

Quirin sighed knowingly at his decision. "I feared this day would happen. But...I won't stop you. You're old enough to make decisions like these on your own. But please...promise to be careful."

"I will, but...I need someone who knows ancient legends such as this one like the back of his hand," Varian smiled a little as he looked at the journal. "Looks like I'm headed to Xavier's."

Angel: As for songs, they won't be in every chapter otherwise that'll get redundant. Maybe like every 3 chapters and where if it's really important to have one. Some will be from the original series, others will not.
