This takes place after Kaidan rejoins the crew of the Normandy. It bothered me that Shepard saw Kaidan and she forgot all about the fact Thane just died protecting her. Not to mention KAIDAN JUST PULLED HIS WEAPON I wanted to write something that reflected how my character Blakely Shepard would react in that situation.
