The scene shows at Mistral as the tv shows the visual news of the now city is on flames with the news title: 'Mistral hit by 6.3 earthquake'.
"It was unlike anything I've ever experienced before." The local said from the news.
"They are keeping creature restricted from the news." Ironwood said. "Good to know, otherwise it will cause panic."
"I wouldn't imagine that our world would have something hidden like this." Jaune worried as well the others but the adults were aware of the 'hidden threat' they are facing.
"Yeah, it's, uh, Li Ren." Nora's voice was heard as she was holding her scroll.
"Mistral to Vale." Nora replied from the scroll when waiting for a reply, "Okay, could I at least... If you could let me leave you my cell... Hello?" The call was muted, as it went offline.
"Damn it!" Nora exclaimed and throwed her scroll to the floor, as she placed her hands on her forehead with anguish.
Ling appears in his outdoor clothes and backpack ready for school as he only sees her mother's state. Nora turns and realizes about that and tries to reassure him, hugging for comfort.
"I'm sorry. Hey, it's okay. It's okay. Daddy's gonna be okay. Daddy's gonna be okay."
Nora felt sadden by this as well as Ren, everyone sympathise with the two. All they can do is watch.
The screen shows broad daylight as a bullhead flies above the destruction of the nuclear plant.
"This area is now under Atlas military jurisdiction. All personnel must report... to the duty officer for debriefing." A loudspeaker is heard throughout the wreckage.
Ozpin stood among the wreckage, since the giant creature's breach it's a total mess; workers injured and body bags were loaded in multiple ambulances.
"A lot of people died..." Ruby felt sadden by this, Yang gives Ruby a comforting hug. Qrow gave out a small grimace, since then he knew the two are still young and will face some such problems.
"This is merely a minor convince for this creature." Doctor Möbius stated. "All it did was waking up and walk around before flying off."
"Yeah..." Jaune winces as everyone felt the same by the Entity's words.
Then Xanthe Rumpole arrives with someone beside her who was a Atlas Military specialist.
"Dr. Ozpin!" Xanthe called out, Ozpin did not respond.
"Dr. Ozpin!" She called again.
"Dr. Ozpin." She said it quieter than the first two.
"Specialist Russell Hampton. Glad to find you." The Atlas Specialist introduced.
"Huh, another specialist..." Qrow mumbled. Ironwood was aware that Qrow wasn't a big fan of his operatives.
But still the General is interested to see how can this version of Remnant can handle this situation and wondered what 'Monarch' is.
"I've been briefed on your work with Operation Monarch." The Specialist informed Ozpin. "Now, I'm told your organization has situational awareness of our unidentified creature? Is that right?"
Ozpin slowly turned and nodded.
"So the Atlas Military and Monarch working together." Weiss comments.
"The way they talk about Monarch it's like a monitoring organisation." Blake suggests.
"So they are just observers of giant monsters?" Yang asked, the two girls nodded. "Huh."
"This organisation is a mystery..." Penny curiously wanted to know what 'Monarch' is.
"We are now taking over operational authority from Monarch. So I'm gonna need you to come with me. Is there any other personnel you need?" The Specialist asked.
Ozpin turns to see the area, until he sees Ren and his father near the ambulance, Li was heavily injured as Ren was beside him, looking out for him as best he could.
"Them." Ozpin pointed.
"This has gone even more interesting." Qrow comments.
"To be clear, Li has discover something that they couldn't figure out." Glynda noted. "Let's just hope Mr Li survives and explain."
The rest were worried for Li especially for Ren.
The scene shows the Bullhead flying above the abandoned city, inside Ren's father was on a medical bed with Ren closely beside him, Ozpin watches in sorrow while the medical staff tries their best.
"Shh. Dad. It's okay." Ren whispered.
"Radial pulse is weak. I'm counting 125." The staff said.
"You were right. I'm sorry." Ren continued.
"Go home to your family. You keep them safe. Okay?" Li spoke out in a weak tone.
"Okay." Ren replied.
Ren looked down for a bit as Nora comforts hi with a shoulder hug.
"Whatever it takes. Whatever it ta..." Li mumbled before he closed his eyes.
"Hey, stay with me. Dad? Dad?" Ren worried.
"Radial pulse is weaker. Barely feel it." The medical staff said.
"We're losing him." The second staff replied.
Others gasped by this, this caused even more tension for Ren. The adults felt sadden by this as well.
"Li, can you hear me?" The first staff member asked.
"He's going into A-fib!" Said the second.
"Give me another epi, one milligram, and 40 units of vasopressin." The first medic demanded it.
"Stay with us. Come on, Li. Hang in there, buddy." The medics called out.
Ren was in deep stress as Ozpin watched in silence while looking beside Xanthe who also remained silent with a sad look on her face.
By that time, they arrived at a very large boat which is an aircraft carrier. While the screen shows a message: 'Atlas Saratoga'.
Now everyone's sadden expression changes to surprise as to see their first time a aircraft carrier.
"Whoa, that's a big boat." Jaune wowed.
"What is that?" Pyrrha asked the Entity.
"That is an aircraft carrier." The Entity replied.
"An aircraft carrier?" Ironwood queried.
"A massive sea base vessel, composing with aircraft vehicles." Doctor Mobius added.
"Wow, that's kinda cool." Yang commented.
"Although, it does seemed resource costing." Weiss mentioned the size of the sea base.
"Not to mentioned Grimm can easily target it." Blake added.
"But it's still cool!" Ruby said.
The Bullhead has landed and the medical staff immediately transports Li to the infirmary with Ren beside them. Ozpin and Xanthe arrive in another room where the general is giving out a speech.
"This is our needle in a haystack, people. MUTO. Massive unidentified terrestrial organism. It is, however, no longer terrestrial. It is airborne." The general pointed out the screen monitors showing the footage of the creature from before.
"MUTO..." Ozpin whispers those words.
"So that's what they called these creatures." Ironwood said.
"MUTO..." Yang slowly speak out those words. "That does sound fitting."
"Is it however airborne?" Ren called out.
"Like MUAO?" Nora asked but then pauses a bit and snicker a little bit.
"That does sound ridiculous." Ruby giggled a bit.
"Indeed..." Ren smiles for a bit. Despite the previous scenes of his father, it was nice for warmer moments.
"The world still thinks this was an earthquake... and it would be preferable that that remain so." The General noted. "Before we lost sight, it was headed east across the ocean and had emitted enough EMP disruption to create havoc with our radar and satellite feeds and reduce us, for the moment, to a strictly visual pursuit. I emphasize for the moment... because we will get on our game and we will find this thing. It is imperative that we do so." He concluded.
He turned to the specialist, "Specialist I want any... and all search options on this table ASAP." He ordered.
"Yes, sir." Specialist Russel replied.
The General approaches Ozpin, "Dr. Ozpin. General William Stenz." He introduced by extending his hand.
"Another general, I wonder where you were James." Qrow commented to the General.
"Even I may not be available in this alternate world. All I hoped is for this General to do well." Ironwood replied.
Qrow scoffed. "Well, let's just see."
Ozpin mentally sighs but glad they are still working together more than just banter.
"Nice to meet you." Ozpin responded, accepting his hand.
"Glad to have you on board." The General replied.
"Sensei." Xanthe called out from the door, beckoning Ozpin.
"Excuse me." Ozpin said to the General.
He arrives at Xanthe who whispers out, "Li's dead." Ozpin looked down at this.
"No..." Ruby was shocked by this.
"He didn't make it." Blake said, with a guilt look.
Ren was surprised by this and was sadden. Even in other alternate worlds, his alternate version suffer the different but same fate with his parents.
"Ren..." He turned to Jaune and his team. "We're sorry about it."
"It's fine." Ren assured. "It's not your fault to begin with."
The students were still sadden by this and comfort Ren for losing his father. The adults were also sad as well, for Li to witness the very thing that caused the death of his wife only to die from discovering.
So that leaves to Ren, and they now thought what will happen for him now.
The next scene shows Li with his eyes closed as he is in the body bag while it is being zipped. Ren remained quiet, due to the fact that his father had died.
Then behind a soldier walks up to him and knocks the door way. "Lieutenant Ren?" He called out which Ren turned.
Then in the next scene the soldier walks and opens a door showing the meeting room where Ozpin and Xanthe are here, along with some other members.
"Dr. Ozpin." The soldier calls out that they noticed that Ren is here.
"My condolences." Ozpin said.
"We are deeply sorry for your loss, lieutenant." Xanthe replied. "But I'm afraid we need your help."
"Let's see what's this about." Qrow commented.
Everyone payed attention from the upcoming scene. Ozpin still was curious by his appearance and what ties his alternate version to this Monarch, guess this is the moment.
The next scene shows the old-school film projector lighting up the dark room showing footage of the submarine.
"In 1954... the first time a nuclear submarine ever reached the lower depths... it awakened something." Ozpin pointed out the screen it plays.
"Another vehicle..." Penny whispered, she already had the notes down by the new military vehicles.
"So the 'Submarine' goes under water?" Blake asked.
"Yes." Doctor Mobius simply answered.
"That does sound cool, but there are Grimm in the sea." Ruby commented.
"That is correct, Miss Rose." Goodwitch corrected. "Despite the advantages of the watercraft, such dangerous are capable of destroying the submarines with ease."
"Man, I never know Grimm gave such troubles." Jaune mumbled.
"The Atlas first thought that it was the Vacuo. The Vacuo thought that it was them." Xanthe said.
"Huh?" Ruby was confused by this.
"Well Miss Rose, there was a moment after the Great War, the kingdoms still gain suspicion even the war is over." Ozpin explained. Ruby nodded by this.
"All those nuclear bomb tests in the '50s? Not tests." She added as the screen shows the large explosions from the nukes.
"They were trying to kill it." Ozpin replied as the screen paused, showing the same creature from the first ever scene. "Him." He pointed.
Everyone widen their eyes by seeing the same creature.
"That creature again?" Nora blurted.
"And there were test's'?" Weiss exclaimed by hearing that multiple tests occurred.
"And by the way they said it, does that mean that creature they tried blow up is still alive?" Ren mentioned.
This made everyone focused more, there were questions but they feel it will be answer further more.
"An ancient alpha predator." Ozpin continued as Ren watched the screen changes showing ecosystems and the skeletons' sketches.
"Millions of years... older than mankind. From an age when the Remnant was 10 times more radioactive than today." Xanthe explained. "This animal and others like it... consumed this radiation as a food source."
"Eat radiation?" Ruby wondered by that.
"How does that make sense?" Yang asked.
"Basically think of plants absorb sunlight." Doctor Möbius commented.
"So... The uranium is like dust but it houses radiation energy, does that mean that creatures can theoretically absorb dust?" Penny theorised.
The Doctor took a moment to think, "Depends." He shrugged. "A good theory to think about."
Ozpin remains standing as Xanthe continues, "As the levels on the surface naturally subsided... these creatures adapted to live deeper in the oceans. Further underground. Absorbing radiation from the planet's core."
"That does explain how they were able to eat this radiation." Jaune said. "And how they survived."
"Does the planet's core have radiation?" Pyrrha asked.
"Yes." Doctor only says one word.
"I guess it would be better..." Blake replied. "Imagine they eat besides radiation..."
Everyone would thought how much food does these giant creatures need to eat especially what if they can't eat radiation.
"The organization we work for, Monarch, was established in the wake of this discovery." She reveals what 'Monarch' is. "A multinational coalition formed in secrecy to search for him. Study him. Learn everything we could." As the footage shows the creature swimming.
"This proves our statements about Monarch." Blake mentioned the previous conversation.
"Yeah, they really do study 'him'." Weiss agreed.
"Wait!" Nora calls out. "How did 'he' survive one of those biggest explosions we have ever seen?"
Everyone don't know, this made them tremble by thinking of the creature. The Entity smirked behinds his mask, knowing there are alternate worlds that have way bigger explosions than this.
"We call him..." Ozpin turns to Ren. "Gojira."
"Gojira?" All students whispered the creature's name.
"Hey, in the beginning they have 'Godzilla' at the title right?" Yang mentioned the first scene.
"Yeah?..." The others replied.
"So that means his name is either Gojira or Godzilla." Yang concludes.
"That name does sound intimidating." Blake said, with a few nods.
"That does beg..." Qrow calls out and turns to Ozpin. "Why do you call him Gojira?"
"I'm not too sure to myself." Ozpin responded. "Perhaps this creature and I have a history, but that is all I can think about."
Everyone remained silent as to continue watching.
"The top of... a primordial ecosystem. A god, for all intents and purposes." Xanthe added.
"A monster." Ren murmured.
"You're not kidding." Qrow commented as he takes a large sip form his flask.
"A god..." Ozpin mutter those words.
"For the creature that manage to survive these nuclear bombs, it does make all the Grimm we faced looked pale in comparison." Penny noted.
"I definitely don't want to face him." Jaune shooked his head with everyone mentally nodded.
"Fifteen years ago, we found a fossil of another giant animal in the Mistral. Like Gojira. But this creature... died long ago." Ozpin noted, as he points to the screen of these same spores from Mistral. "Killed by these."
"Parasitic spores." Xanthe clarify. "One dormant. But the other hatched. Catalyzed when a mining company... unknowingly drilled into its tomb. The hatchling burrowed straight for the nearest source of radiation... your father's power plant in Kuchinashi and cocooned there for 15 years, absorbing its radioactive fuel to gestate, to grow." While the screen shows the distance from the dig site to the power plant.
"Until it hatched, like a butterfly into the creature you saw today." Ozpin added.
"It manage to travel that far..." Goodwitch mumbled.
"That does show how it manage to get there." Ozpin replied.
Right now everyone has no comments as it continues.
"Wait. You knew about this? This thing? The whole time?" Ren questioned. "Why didn't you kill it when you had the chance?"
"It was absorbing radiation from the reactors." Xanthe replied. "We worried killing it... might release that radiation and endanger millions."
"Indeed." Ren nodded. "Although it makes sense when my other self is angered by this."
"Don't feel too bad about it Ren." Jaune replied.
"That is fine again." Ren thanked his team leader for comfort.
"That's why our mission was to contain it. To study its biology, to understand it." Ozpin stated, while Ren looked down.
"We knew the creature was having an electrical effect on everything within a close proximity. What we didn't know was that it could harness this same power in an EMP attack. But your father did. He predicted it." Xanthe continued.
"What else did he say?" Ozpin asked Ren, leaving him in thought of struggle.
"Please try to remember, Mr. Ren. Anything that would help us. Anything at all." Xanthe said.
"I didn't listen. I just thought he was crazy. He was obsessed with all this..." Ren whispered but his tone was filled with regret.
Ren still sympathise for his alternate self, Nora as well. As they seen how this Ren's life is better if it weren't the disaster. All they can both hope is for this other Ren can somehow fix this.
"Said something about an animal call. Something talking."
"Talking?" Ozpin queried.
"He said he was studying something. Echolocation." Ren explained.
"If the MUTO was talking that day... your father must have discovered something talking back." Ozpin thoughted then turned to Xanthe. "Check again."
"Yep." Xanthe responded.
"Search for a response call." Ozpin ordered.
"So that MUTO is calling for something..." Penny wondered what this means.
"Could it be the second spore thingy?" Ruby asked.
"It's still dormant as they said, but I have a bad feeling this may be mention again." Weiss replied.
"This parasite. It's still out there. Where's it headed?" Ren asked.
"The MUTO is young, growing. It will be looking for food." Ozpin stated.
"Sources of radiation." Xanthe added. "We're monitoring all known sites, but if we don't find it soon..."
"Then what?" Ren asked again.
"Nature has an order. A power to restore balance." Ozpin replied as he turned to the screen of 'Gojira'. "I believe he is that power."
"Godzilla?" Students were confused by this. "He's going to bring the MUTO down."
"I can't tell your other self is crazy to think about doing this." Ironwood turns to his ally.
Ozpin remain silent thinking about what his other self is thinking, he guess that he adn Gojira have a calmer history than he thought.
The scene changed to the outside of the aircraft carrier, where Ren is taken on the flight deck where a Bullhead is waiting as he enters inside a soldier making a small debrief of the plan. "Sir, right now we're 50 miles from Argus. This transport will take you there. You're catching a commercial flight back to Vale."
"They are going to Argus." Pyrrha whispered remember her home before going to the Academy.
"It seems that Argus has changed as well." Ironwood thought, hearing the soldier's brief since Argus is further away more thus longer time to reach Vale.
"Huh you live in Argus? I know one of my sisters lives there too." Jaune replied to Pyrrha who smiles and was interested to know his sisters ever since the dance.
With that the Bullhead flies off as Ozpin and Xanthe watch on top of the flight deck. The Bullhead continues flying towards Argus for a while.
Another scene shows Nora is with Ling who is in his pajamas.
"I'm gonna need you to brush your teeth." Nora said as she was holding Ling back from trying to run away from the bathroom.
"Disgusting! Those are terrible!" Nora jokily laughed. While from a small distance was Nora's scroll with 'Ren' on call but it was in silent mode.
Nora smiles by this but was anger by herself not noticing the call. "Damnit silent mode!" This made Ren smiles a bit by this.
"Nora is still Nora." He thought.
Back to Ren who was waiting for a response until he got: "Hey, this is Nora. You missed me. Please leave a message."
"Nora. I don't know what they're saying on the news. There was an accident in Mistral. Dad's gone. I'll explain when I see you. I'm headed to Argus. I'm gonna catch a flight from there. I'll see you soon." He said, before hanging up.
Everyone remained in silent, they all hoped this Ren can make it to Vale.
Back to Ozpin who was in the planning room with Xanthe seeing the information they have. They keep on proceeding .
"Keep scrolling. Near the end. Before the EMP." Xanthe suggests.
And then all the sudden they see a similar but bigger call than the previous one they saw from the first MUTO.
"There." Ozpin pointed out. "Something responded."
Everyone sees the same call but this time is bigger.
"Something responded... It could be the second spore Ruby mentioned." Weiss suggests.
"Does that mean something is coming?" Ruby asked, curious to know since Weiss mentioned her suggestion.
"I don't know, we just have to find out unfortunately." Weiss replied.
The screen shows night along with an even bigger city with the screen showing the title: 'Argus, Mistral'.
"It looked very different compare to ours." Pyrrha said. "Then again this is an alternate world."
"Yeah." Jaune agreed.
"It makes us think how many people are there since there's no Grimm here." Ren wondered.
"It looks nice tho." Nora commented about this version of Argus.
Then the screen shows Ren inside the train.
He was carrying an old toy soldier he had that was from the abandoned city where his home was, while an announcement is happening. "Aloha, and welcome aboard. The train will begin moving shortly. For the comfort of others, no smoking, please. Thank you." The announcement occurred. "Please remember to stay clear of the automatic doors."
Everyone remained quiet due to this version of Ren has lost his father and is now in a state of mind to think.
Just then a yelling was heard as Ren sees parents outside as their son who was inside as the doors were closed as the child cries out to his parents, while also for them crying out, "Akio!" who is the child's name.
"Oh no!" A few students were surprised by this.
"Just their luck." Qrow mumbled.
"Hey, hey, hey." Ren decides to help as he tries to open the door but makes no progress. "I can't open it." He called out, but the train was about to go as Akio continued to cry out for his parents.
With that Ren decides to come to the kid who was running along as the train moves, parents as well. Ren carries the kid while calling to the kid's parents.
"It's okay! I'm gonna bring him back." Ren assures the parents as the train moves away from the station.
"Hope the kid's alright." Yang worried about the kid.
"Not to worry for Ren is here!" Nora beamed.
Ren smiles from this and roll his eyes.
"All right. I'm gonna set you down there." He said as he settled the kid down. "I'll get you back to your parents. Okay?"
The kid nodded. Ren decides to cheer the kid up, by giving his toy soldier to him. "Here. Is this what you want?"
The kid slowly reaches out the toy soldier, shy but happy by the gift. "Take good care of him for me. I better not miss my flight, kid." As Ren sat next to the kid.
Everyone thought about it, they weren't sure that something may happen but they hopefully don't prepare for it.
Back to the planning room once again of the aircraft carrier. Ozpin was putting up notes until he heard a conversation with the General and Specialist.
"General, received an intel report. We lost track of a nuclear Akula 50 nautical miles northwest of Argus. Could be the MUTO." The Specialist reported.
"Well, this has gone downhill." Qrow commented.
"The submarine has gone missing near the city and with the MUTO near the city, the causalities will be high." Goodwitch added.
"And if spotted, news will be spread because of this." Ironwood noted.
This made the students hopefully believe the Atlas Military can take it down or sway away the city.
This caused Ozpin to look up, alarmed as he turned to face the General.
"Why you look so down Oz?" Qrow questioned the Headmaster.
Before Ozpin can somewhat explain, the Entity intervene. "It's because this an endangered animal, this Ozpin regret they have to destroy the very thing the organisation observe."
This made everyone thought about it, including Ozpin himself, "However he understand that keeping the MUTO alive will also endanger lives so he accept the terms."
Everyone thought about this, the monster they fear is an animal not Grimm. But consider how dangerous it was they must destroy it. It's the only right thing to do, Remnant cannot possible co-exist with the giant creatures.
"Just got word of a missing Vacuo sub in the Argus sea. Martinez." The General said as looking at one of the soldiers monitoring their communications.
"Aye sir, special forces team Sparta One is picking up a distress signal Northwest of Argus. They're on the ground and headed to the beacon," Martinez responded.
In the Argus forest just outside the main city, the teams trudged through the woods in the middle of the night.
"Anyone wanna tell me why we're looking for a cooler in the middle of the jungle?" One soldier asked.
"Probably a glitch. Vacuo said they got a ping from this location," another one said.
"Wait a submarine manage to get there?" Jaune asked.
"It seemed to be. Otherwise I wonder how an underwater vehicle get there as well." Pyrrha replied.
They are curious to see as they continue watching.
"Hey I got a reading, it's right up ahead," said another.
The lights from the Bullheads giving them aerial assistance broke through the canopy of the trees above lighting their path. Massive leaves and branches waving about angrily due to the flying above, only to be calmed once it passed by overhead.
"Sparta One this is Hawkeye, we're getting a signal off the transponder, range thirty meters. Looks like you're getting warmer," the pilot said.
As the men kept walking, the beep of the reading increased in volume and frequency. Faster and faster, louder and louder, until at last they came upon what they had been looking for.
"What the hell?" One of them asked.
They all stepped forward and saw a giant object covered in white goop. Sparta One's lead came forward and used his hand to wipe away some of the goop, revealing the radiation warning label beneath. He picked his hand up, watching the goo ooze and fall off of his hand.
"Ew..." Almost everyone was gross by the goo.
"That's disgusting." "What is that stuff?" Are heard.
"By the gods..." He said quietly.
Another bit of goop fell down from above him, and he looked up while shining his flashlight in the same direction in which he saw a giant propeller of a submarine above his head in the trees.
"By the gods!" He exclaimed.
"There's the submarine!" Ruby exclamied.
"That MUTO just grabbed that from the ocean!" Blake was shocked as well.
This made everyone worried to see that creature's capabilities.
Just then the Bullhead lights fell upon them as well. The sub lit up under the lights and showcased the fact that it was all being held in the air by the trees.
"Charlie 3, we have located your Vacuo sub..." He said.
"And you're not gonna believe what else we found," The pilot said.
"Holy shit," the co-pilot whispered.
They shone their lights down just in time to witness the wing MUTO picking and devouring the subs nuclear reactors. The MUTO dove back into the sub as the pilots looked on in horror at what it was doing and how it could be doing it.
"And it's eating these radiation stuff!" Almost all the students worried.
Back on the Atlas Saratoga, the general watched the live thermal feeds from the soldiers and the Bullheads.
"Seems to be rising... possibly twenty to thirty meters above the tree line. Can't tell how wide it is," The pilot reported.
"Cat's out of the bag doctor, no more secrets. Our highest priority now is safety. There's close to a million people on that island," General said to Ozpin who bowed his head regrettably.
"A million of people!" Now almost everyone shouted.
"That's a high population we have ever heard on the city." Penny was surprised.
Everyone knows this world doesn't have Grimm, but they were still surprised.
"Get me eyes in the air." The General ordered, just then, alarms started blaring through the room.
"We're picking up something else, approaching from the Argus ocean," said one of the soldiers monitoring the satellite and sonar screens.
"Huh? Is it the second one that responded to call?" Yang asked to her team.
"It could be..." Weiss replied.
Things are going tense.
Ozpin looks up, turning his head to look at Xanthe as he then walks out of the room as the General declares that everyone must go to general quarters. Xanthe followed Serizawa into the hallways, wondering what he was up to.
"Where are you going?" She asked.
"Up to the flight deck, I think he is coming!" Ozpin said.
"Wait..."
"Him?!" Both Team RWBY & JNPR.
"Could it be?..." Ozpin thoughted as he felt the similar way as his other self.
"What are you doing?" She still asked.
"I have to see this," Ozpin said, gesturing for her to remain behind as he continued running through the halls.
On the flight deck, Ozpin made it there as he saw two dropships being deployed from the carrier to engage the MUTO.
Meanwhile, to Argus, a luau was taking place as the people were looking up to see the Atleasin Bullheads flying overhead which confuses them. A little girl sat in her chair, watching the Bullhead as it dropped several Atlas soldiers onto the rooftops who all took positions along the edge watching and waiting for something to happen.
Back to the train, Ren remained seated with the Akio as he heard sounds of aerial vehicles pass by. He turned his head to take a look, with Akio turning all the way around and practically plastering his face against the glass, the other passengers including the two seeing the two dropships flying overhead towards the jungles.
Everyone watches with worry. The people on Argus notices the military, the MUTO is nearby and Ren is there as well.
"Two, Charlie 6 we are circling the target. Go on your command... Standby, I got a visual. Bogey at my twelve," The pilots of the dropship reported.
At the forest the Muto was still feeding the warheads as a light shined by the Bullhead flying above annoying the creature. The MUTO roared out angrily as it tried to finish its meal, but the Bullhead's sounds caught its attention and it dropped the container down towards the soldiers who all jumped away to avoid being crushed by it.
"I think they just piss it off." Qrow commented.
The students were tensed by this.
"Be advised, preparing to engage target." The pilot reported.
"Guardian 3, we're getting movement down here." One of the soldiers replied from the squad.
Just then, the MUTO's right front arm began to alight with a reddish orange glow along the curved hook at the end leading partially up the forearm as it was slowly raised into the air. The MUTO let out another roar and its body tensed.
"Another EMP strike!" Ruby panicked.
Penny felt a bit tensed by the EMP, wondering if she can resistances from it. Perhaps she request to the general.
"Take cover!" The soldiers yelled.
The MUTO slammed its arm down on the ground releasing an emp blast through the area The first to shut down were the Bullheads and the lights they were using to keep tabs on the MUTO. The dropships came forward and were too late to evade the blast. All of their systems shut down, and their planes went dark.
"I've got no power! I say again I have lost-" The plane went down, crashing into the ground and sending a shock wave at the soldiers who were in the way. Two of the men were killed instantly by the concussive force of the blast, while others were thrown several feet away.
No words were spoken, thus another disaster is coming.
The EMP explosion lit the skies in the distance as the shockwave disabled the Argus airport, including the train Ren and the child were in. It lurched to a halt, throwing everyone off balance as Ren caught Akio and held him close to keep him safe as he steadied himself against the sudden stop.
"You all right?" He asked, with Akio giving him a nod.
"You give it ten seconds, light's are gonna come back on," He assured the boy. "It's okay," He held Akio's hand.
"Something bad is gonna happen." Qrow said.
Nora worries for Ren as well for the others.
Meanwhile at the beaches on Argus where the lights still remain, the girl from before sat in her chair watching the adults ponder the meaning behind the military troops on the building rooftops.
"What was that? Did you see that? What is it?" Many people questioned.
She walked over to her father, holding his hand for a few moments before she happened to hear a strange sound coming from the ocean. She turned around slowly, letting go of her father's hand as she approached the water's edge.
The waters from the shores flowed backwards, and were in rapid state. Fish which had been schooling close to shore were now stranded on the sands.
"Water is pushing back?..." Jaune stuttered.
"That means, something is coming." Pyrrha replied.
"And if the wave is pushed back..." Weiss said, but letting the scene continue.
"Dad!" She called out.
Her father turned to look at her.
"Zooey?" He asked as he started jogging over to her.
"Zooey!... Oh gods!" He exclaimed, picking her up as he too caught sight of the retreating ocean.
Just then alarms blared out all across the area.
"Run! Run!" He yelled as he and his wife ran with their daughter.
"It's a tsunami!" Another man yelled. Later on the people were running away as they all scrambled to reach a safe distance in time.
"This is insane!" Yang exclaimed. The students couldn't agree more.
Back to the Bullhead the pilots reported. "Bravo, bravo. Target spotted offshore two knots due east of your position, could be a second bogey," said one of the choppers which was out to sea for recon."
Now on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier, Ozpin was bracing himself as another Bullhead took off to prepare for recon and transportation of troops. He took out his binoculars to look at the direction he was looking.
Everyone watches the screen with focus to see what is Ozpin looking at.
From the zoomed point of view he sees one of the Bullheads is flying above as its light is shining down towards the water.
As he lower, he sees giant spikes tearing the ocean with waves as he sees other rows of spikes sliced through the water which the view redial to reveal three rows of giant spikes swimming towards the aircraft carrier.
Ozpin lowers the binoculars, with a face of fear and surprise as the spikes are heading towards the aircraft carrier.
"Those spikes!" Weiss pointed out.
"It's Godzilla!" Ruby blurted.
"He's here!" Yang exclaimed.
"Is it going to crash the ship?" Pyrrha worries for the people and Ozpin on the aircraft carrier.
Just then the spikes went down, submerged underwater. Lights from above shine underwater revealing the large creature as it was swimming underneath the large vessel.
The crew on the flight deck ran to the other side to see the water rising higher and higher as the creature was getting up as the waves were caused by the surfacing of the creatures swaying the other boats nearby.
This confused everyone.
"He went under?" Ruby wondered.
"I think he may not be here for destruction." Penny replied.
"Is it after the MUTO thingy?" Yang asked the android.
"This is a likely outcome." She responded.
Back on the shore, a dog was tied to a tree and barking wildly towards the ocean as a wall of water approaching them was over three stories tall, and the dog's barking was replaced by a single whimper as it turned to run and snapped the leash holding it to the tree.
"Doggie no!" Ruby and Yang exclaimed.
Even Weiss felt similar to Ruby and Yang, but for Blake she may do not like dogs but she wouldn't want to see this.
The dog continued running away. It was caught up in a crowd of fleeing people as the large wave cascaded through everything. The same father and his wife and daughter were among the crowd running away as the wave quickly consumed others from behind. The daughters couldn't react, only clinging on her father for safety.
He and his wife ran through the streets before turning to the side and opening the door of a nearby store to hide inside.
For a few brief moments as the water rushed past, they saw the bodies of hundreds of people getting swept away or floating passed having already been drowned or crushed to death by the force of the wave alone as the door glasses began to crack and water leaked through.
The screen shows the wave that swamped the entire area with people from rooftops watching as power was shut down and debris passing by on the water, leaving everything in the dark.
"Despite he not harming the ship, he did caused this." Qrow pointed out, Godzilla's actions.
"Even then, this is a giant creature like Doctor Mobius said." Ozpin sighed.
This made everyone shocked by the destruction just by Godzilla surfacing.
Then suddenly soldiers above the rooftops shot some flares up and into the air to see what was going on. The red lights flew up higher before descending revealing a large bulking figure covered in scales that instantly towers the buildings as it slowly walks through, making a low rumbling sound.
The people remained silent, gaping from the appearance.
"Whoa..." All the students gaped their mouths form the sheer size.
"That thing must be more than 100 metres!" Penny exclaimed, scanning the creature.
"Bigger than any Grimm we ever encounter." Ironwood mumbled.
However the silence was shattered as gunfire was heard. Everyone panicked as the other rooftops revealed that the soldiers were firing their rifles, however the bullets did nothing.
The soldiers stop firing, seeing the creature not affected by the gunfire as it continues walking while destroying some structures on its path.
"Yeah, do you think that's gonna work?" Qrow deadpanned.
"Even then, he doesn't seem to care for the soldiers." Goodwitch added.
The scene changes to the forest where the squad recovers from the MUTO's attack.
"Anyone get an eyeball on the bogey?" Asked one of the Sparta One team.
Then one of the soldiers heard the faint MUTO's roar from a distance. The lights to the city then began returning as power was restored.
"The lights are returning..." Ironwood said.
This made everyone curious where the MUTO is.
Back on the train, the lights began to come back on slowly across the track. Light by light until they reached the train's position and the lights within came on and everyone on board breathed a collective sigh of relief.
"There you go. What'd I tell you?" Ren smiled at the kid.
The lights were slowly returning one by one on the trackway, until suddenly it revealed the MUTO was there. People panic as the train starts up and moves towards where the MUTO is. Ren and the kid were shocked to see the creature especially for Ren the most.
"It's here!" The students exclaimed. Nora and Ren were surprised but didn't speak, they fear for the MUTO due to dangers that's happening.
Just then gunfire was and everyone panicked. "Get down!" Ren shouted as he grabbed hold of Akio shielding him from possible harm as everyone duck and cover. The gunfire was revealed to be a Bullhead shooting down the MUTO but to no effect.
However the MUTO notices the train and knelt down. Ren watches in dread as the MUTo roars at the train, opening its mouth.
The kid screams as Ren grabs him, lifting him off the ground and retreating towards the back as far as he could go before grabbing hold of a rail to prepare for what happened next. The MUTO chomped down the train car taking out the people who were near the end of the train car.
There was no talking, just surprises, others winced by the deaths of these people as it continues on.
The train car tilted due to the train track being destroyed by the MUTO, Ren was knocked free of his rail and fell to the train car's floor. Several others had already fallen through the broken end of the car to the ground below.
Ren managed to catch the edge of one of the seats, adjusting his grip. Then he hears the child scream as he sees Akio is slipping and begins sliding down the car as well. He grabbed the kid in time preventing him from falling to his death.
"Nice one Ren!" Nora cheered as well as other students, the people may have died but they were glad there's others to be saved and Ren manage to save one. Ren sighs and smiles by this.
Then outside the MUTO continues walking around the airport, leaving the dangling train behind. One of the airport workers was underneath the large cargo ship as a small wave of water flowed over and passed his feet but was still focused on the MUTO.
"Target in sight two o'clock, 300 meters." The co-pilot reported.
"We're on 6-X-01. Target confirmed." The pilot added.
The Bullhead began opening fire at the MUTO as they drew in closer, until the spikes appeared out of nowhere.
"Goodness!" This caused the pilot to veer away.
However, the pilot did not notice as he was heading towards the MUTO and it was too late. The Bullhead crashed onto the wing of the MUTO that still did nothing. It then fell down in flames towards the ground, it exploded. It also crashed into a large transport ship which it exploded as well as other ships nearby causing the chain reaction.
The people inside the terminal watched the chaos unfold outside and were screaming in fear. The MUTO roars along the explosions.
"Oh my goodness..." Goodwitch mutters by the sight.
For everyone to see such destruction and what they didn't expected...
A big foot appears and stomps, shooking the ground causing the people to go silent.
Everyone went silent as the people to see the creature is here.
The MUTO looks up towards the approaching creature as it growls and flares its wings, letting out a roar.
The creature the MUTO faces is way bigger, a large bipedal reptilian creature stood up with its menacing presence. It glares before letting out a louder roar that shocked the area.
"Whoa!" Everyone nearly winced by that roar expect Penny, but Blake was the most expression due to her cat ears.
"That was loud!" Yang exclaimed.
"No kidding..." Blake mutters as she felt a bit dizzy from the roar.
Everyone was slightly recovering from that roar. The adults watch as well.
"So that's Gojira..." Ozpin thoughted.
"That is a big lizard." Qrow commented.
They were expecting the fight but what they see is this.
The scene changed back to Ling who was sleeping on the couch, nearby is a table filled with dinosaur toys. Ling was woken up by the sounds of the TV's distress sounds.
Nora was in the kitchen, "Ling, please turn that TV off." She called out as the TV shows the footage of 'Argus Devastated' as it shows glimpses of Godzilla fighting the winged MUTO all over the city while reporters are shocked by the witness of the giants.
"It's on the news. And Ling is watching." Nora commented.
"They were fighting..." Ruby said.
"Now the people know." Weiss worried.
What will happen now? They continue watching.
Already Ling got up from sleep, watching the TV while Nora called out again. "Hey, did you hear me? Off. Come on, Ling. Let's go. Let's go. It's bedtime." Then the TV shows the MUTO has flown away from battle with Godzilla returning to the waters to chase it.
"The MUTO retreated." Blake pointed out.
"And Godzilla is chasing it." Yang added.
"This doesn't make sense..." Penny mutters.
"What it is Penny?" Ruby asked.
"The two clearly are enemies yet the MUTO called for Godzilla to come." Penny explained.
Ruby thoughted and nodded by her friend's statement.
"Ling." Nora responded as she turned.
"Mommy, look. Dinosaurs." Ling pointed out the screen excitedly, Nora saw the news, now she becomes even more concerned and disbelieving.
"Yeah, dinosaurs that is gigantic in real life." Qrow sarcastically commented.
They just witness the first ever giant monster fight by seeing the news. Now the giant creatures have been revealed to the world, they wonder how will they react to this. The two teams hoped for Ren to be okay.
Phew! I needed to take a break from this.
With that I'll be taking a hiatus break from this and trying to finish 'RWBY & SAFR' Volume 2.
