CHAPT 3 - IS IT A BOAT? IS IT A PLANE? NO IT'S BOTH!

Percy Jackson POV

Agent Not-Blue and Agent Brason lead me out of the car and onto what seemed to be a massive boat full of planes. I mean, it looked like a boat, but I felt that it didn't just belong to the sea.

"Wow. What is that Not-Blue?"

Resignation crossed his eyes when he heard the name. I also swear I heard a sigh slip from his lips. "I guess you'll have to find out, won't you?"

I was wary, but at least I had the strength of the sea to help me.

I could have sworn I felt a comforting sea breeze.

Agent Brason POV

Pulling Jackson through SHIELD's Base, making sure to throw him off track with twists and turns, I couldn't help but look at the kid. He looked so care free and at ease, I couldn't imagine him trying to hurt anyone.

Finally, we reached a room with a single glass cylinder. We lead Perseus over to the controls where I hit a few buttons and the glass panel slid open.

"Oh great, I finally get some personal space." Jackson said and walked into the prison.

Both of us blinked, our only sign of surprise, which, of course, Jackson spotted and grinned.

I saw my partner's lips twitch up slightly before he and I walked away. "He grows on you," I said.

Agent Brown laughed, "He sure does."

Percy Jackson POV

I was bored out of my mind. I mean, I was stuck in a glass cylinder and I felt like a prey mantis caught in a 5 year old's bug catcher.

Two guards were stationed by the door and, though I tried, I couldn't get them to talk. I was about to try again, because, hey, I have nothing better to do, when I heard footsteps. Slow and leisurely. Great.

An African American man entered the room. He wore black, a lot of black. But when I looked to his face, a pang of grief hit me as I saw the eye patch.

It wasn't frayed and worn like Ethan's was, it was well kept and looked new, like he bought a new won every week.

A memory flooded through my brain, Ethan charging at Kronos.

And Ethan falling through Mt Olympus.

I shoved the memory down deep.

"Mr. Jackson, I am Nick Fury, Director of SHIELD." The man said.

"You direct shields? wait. Shield's need directing? If I'd known they were alive, I'd have thought twice before using them to block a sword." I could have sworn the two guards coughed.

"SHIELD stands for Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division." Fury said, a bit irked.

I blinked. "The Homeland of what now?"

"That is not important at this moment in time. We need to ask you a few questions Perseus."

"Percy." I replied without even thinking.

"Excuse me?"

"You're excused." I said before I could help myself. I coughed, "I mean, I prefer Percy to Perseus."

The two guard's bodies were shaking slightly, trying to keep their laughs from escaping. Meanwhile Nick Fury's eye narrowed a bit at my earlier statement but nodded anyway, I mean, his name would be Nicholas, shortened to Nick, so I guess he understands. "Looking at your file, we have a few blanks to fill out."

"Awesome! I love that game." I grinned and sat in the middle of the cell, cross-legged.

"Your mother is Sally Jackson but your father is unknown, do you mind telling me who he is?" He started, his one eye boring into my soul.

I gave him an incredulous look. "You think I know?"

"Yes."

I paused, pretending to think, then I shrugged. "All I know is that he set off sailing after I was born and he didn't come back, my mum says I look like him though, if that helps."

His eye's glare intensified but it didn't startle me, I just sat there calmly and awaited the next question. "Who do you work for."

"Starbucks." I said slowly, "I thought that'd be on my file."

"It is, who else do you work for?"

"No one, but if people need help, I'm more than happy to."

"Help with what?"

I rolled my shoulders. "It depends really. At one point I had to help my cousins out of a prank they set on our Aunt D."

"I thought Sally Jackson didn't have any relations." Fury's lips twitched upward slightly in satisfaction.

So did mine. "We don't share any DNA ." Not a lie.

His lips went back into a thin line. "Where do you go during the summer?"

"Around." I said like it was obvious.

"Where?"

"America."

"Like, St. Louis where you blew up part of a national monument. Or Las Vegas where you were seen, underaged, running out of a Casino. Santa Monica where you were part of a shooting. Alcatraz where-"

"FIRST of all." I cut him off, glaring. "I did not blow up St Louis, that was my kidnapper. One family found out what was happening. My kidnapper went to shoot them but Annabeth misdirected the gun just in time into something that was highly flammable and ended up blowing a chunk out of the arch. Don't ask me how we survived the fall, we did and I'm fine with knowing that.

"Las Vegas was the three of us making a run for it when or kidnapper finally relaxed and Santa Monica was just me taking advantage of an earthquake and having a shoot off with my kidnapper." I wasn't faking my anger but I was extremely impressed with the lie. "And secondly, if you already know where I go, why'd you ask?"

"You disappeared longer than usual last summer, going missing for about 9 months before showing up out of seemingly thin air and starting school again." He continued, ignoring my comment.

I scrubbed my face with my hands. "Took a trip with my friends on the other side of the Mediterranean, whilst there my fiance and I got seperated from our friends, but we met up again in Greece." I felt another pang of grief remembering Damasen and Bob. Following true with our promise, Annabeth and I told their story throughout Camp and Olympus.

Fury lifted an eyebrow. "Fiance?"

"What? not allowed to have one?" I asked innocently.

His eye narrowed again but he let it go.

"Anything else you'd like to ask?" I smiled up at him.

He growled, but when he was about to leave, there was a lot of pressure around us and then suddenly all my increased strength left when the boat-thing lost its connection with the water.

I felt the blood leak from my face and the smile leave my lips. "Wh-what's happening?" I asked trying to keep my voice steady as I stood up.

He smirked, "What? You don't like flying?"

"I've gotta say, sailing is more of my thing." I said absentmindedly as I looked around.

"Well, Jackson, you will find that 75% of the time, we are in the air." The smugness in his eye was so infuriating that I smiled back at him.

"What a lovely fact, who did you get to work that out? I mean, not being rude or anything, but you look like the kinda guy that'd put flyscreens on a submarine, so I wouldn't exactly trust you with those stats."

Nick Fury kept his face blank, like he did throughout the whole questioning but I saw the amusement leave his eye as he turned around and left, leaving me no distraction to the fact that I was in the air.

Oh, wait, not completely without distraction, I still have two guards to talk to.

A grin spread on my face.

"Did he just call him Not-Blue?" Demeter frowned.

"Uh huh." Aphrodite nodded. "Weren't you guys listening? He was making fun of Brown's name."

"Oh. 'Not-Blue' as in brown isn't blue." Ares nodded dumbly.

"You didn't need to explain it Ares." Dionysus rolled his eyes. He, of course, was worried for the boy. He'd grown attached, accidently calling him by his name too many times to count.

But, as always, he will die just as all the others do, so he stays distant, waiting for the time when they have to burn his shroud.

"He's uneasy." Poseidon noted. "He can tell that the ship doesn't just belong to my domain." He sent a sea breeze to remind him that we were here and it was alright. He smiled when his son's face relaxed a bit.

"What are they doing?" Demeter tilted her head. "Are they lost? They keep going through the same rooms."

Athena snorted. "They're trying to make him disoriented, so he doesn't know where to go if he does escape."

"Uhum. He was trained by Lupa, not gonna happen." Mars put in before being shooed away by Ares.

"He's right though." Athena laughed. "Look at him." By the way he was looking, you could see the eye rolls he was suppressing. His expression didn't change at all as they entered a room with one glass cylinder.

"When I expected a prison cell." Hermes said. "That's not what crossed my mind. And I know every kind of prison. And oh, is this hard core." He ogled at it for a good moment before continuing. "That is one of the strongest cages ever built."

"Yeah, Loki was kept in that cage." Ares grinned. With everyone's weirded out looks in his direction he went on the defensive side. "What? Yes I watched what the Avengers have done. What? it's the only way to watch a fight these days."

"Um." Hermes blinked. "He just walked into the cage with a smile on his face."

"I wouldn't say walk." Apollo muttered. "It was more of a strut if you ask me." Hermes dipped his head in agreement. "Ugh, his ADHD will drive him crazy in there."

They only had to wait a few minutes before a man walked in. "Who's the pirate?" George asked. "Ohh Nick Fury, the Director of SHIELD. Right."

"Director?" Hera asked. She'd been sitting back observing everything and staying quiet for so long that several deities jumped at the sound of her voice.

"Uhhh, yeah." The snake said blinking. "He's the head of SHIELD, director, leader, etc. Oh look, he just explained." He added.

"Aand here we go again! Ladies and Gentlemen, please re welcome, PERSASSY" Hermes laughed.

"This boy is getting on my nerves." Artemis frowned, motioning her head towards the Director. "He's got this whole 'I-don't-take-no-shi-'"

"Language Arty!" Apollo gasped in mock scandalism. She just rolled her eyes.

Hermes and Apollo busted into laughter. "'YoUr ExCuSeD'" Poseidon shook his head in amusement, his son really was something.

They heard from the hearth. "Your mother is Sally Jackson but your father is unknown, do you mind telling me who he is?"

"Yes. Yes he does." Poseidon frowned.

"You think I know?"

"Yes." Everyone said.

Hephaestus crushed the little automachine he'd been making. "Oh and now he's asking who he works for."

"Starbucks." Hermes and Apollo said in unison.

Poseidon nodded. "Yeah, how did you know that?"

"We go there a lot." Was all they said.

"Wait. You asked Jackson to get you out of that mess?!" Demeter turned right to Apollo and Hermes, who both grinned weakly.

" ...No?" Hermes tried. Apollo gave Hermes an incredulous look.

"Your the god of lies, but that was the saddest lie I have ever heard." he said.

"Oh, and you can do better Mr. Truth god? Oh, right. Your bound to the truth. You can't." Apollo just stuck out his tongue. "Oooo speaking of lies, did you hear that one?" Hermes grinned. "'We don't share the same DNA'. The best lies are sewn in with the truth."

"See." Athena motioned to the Hearth, where Nick Fury was listing off different 'terrorism acts'. "They no nothing about us. They think he's a terrorist,"

"Yeah but now he's got to try and clear his name." Poseidon frowned and stared at the hearth and blinked. "Which he's actually doing quite well."

"Fiance?" Fury asked.

Athena froze. "What?" She said in a cold voice. "I didn't give him my permission."

Poseidon couldn't help the smirk on his face. "Oh yeah, Percy didn't propose, but Annabeth knew you would never say yes so she asked for my permission. I, of course, said yes. She proposed to him. Kind of fitting I think, considering she was the one to kiss him after the Titan War." He smiled at the memory.

Athena though, was seething. "You-"

They were interrupted when the scene in the hearth showed a panicking Percy. Poseidon stiffened. "The ship is leaving my domain." He said.

Zeus just nodded .

So this chapter's done, I've gotta admit, going back and editing, I had to change 'eyes' into 'eye' like a hundred times.

Votes would be appreciated!
