CHAPT 4 - STARK, CAP AND THE NORSE DUDE.
Nick Fury POV
Over a week has passed and Fury still hasn't gotten anything out of Jackson.
It didn't help that Loki was down from Asgard, seeing as Odin decided to leave his punishment to the choice of Earth. He came arrived last month, Thor accompanying him straight to Avengers tower. I sighed in frustration remembering the amount of complaints Stark sent within the hour.
"Hey Nicky." Speak of the devil, Stark walked into my office and sat down on the chair opposite me like it were his couch. "Whatcha up to?"
"Relieving a headache that arrived when you entered." I mumbled but then said a little louder, "What do you want Stark?"
"Nothing, just wanted to see what's happening at SHIELD."
"What have I told you?" I said, eyes boring straight into his.
Stark, however, paid no heed to me, but I did note how he didn't look back at me, instead to the glass of wine he always has. "If I interrupt you while you're in the middle of you're brooding time, you'll give me some task or whatever." He sighed.
That wasn't what I said at all, however that did give me an idea. A smile twitched on my lips ever so slightly. "And now you've interrupted me again. So I'm handing someone over to you."
Tony looked up, irritated. "We already have Loki to deal with."
"Well now the rest of the team can thank you for the extra task." I pulled Jackson's file from my desk drawer and placed it on the desk.
"Perseus Jackson." Tony said, eyes skimming the file as he drank from his wine. Slowly, a smile crept on his face and his eyes lit up. "I like him better than Loki." He grinned.
"He's currently sitting in Loki's old cell, I want you and the rest of the team to find out who he works for and possibly what he is." That was all I said before standing up and walking out of the room.
Tony Stark POV
Walking down the hallways, I couldn't help the smile that crept on my face. Oh, what would cap think? The smile grew.
I found the kid leaning against the glass wall, one leg sitting up whilst the other lay flat on the ground, with his head bobbing along in some kind of rhythm. Probably a song in his head.
"Hey Kid." I called. He opened his eyes and a grin spread across his face and he stood up and walked over to me.
"Hey man," He said propping one elbow against the glass to rest his cheek on his fist. "You come to bring me food?"
I huffed a laughed. "No. I've come to get you outta here."
He scanned my face for a few seconds, eyes dropping to the wine glass in my hand and tensing. "Where?"
"To Avengers tower of course." I spread my arms out wide and grinned. He gave me a blank look. I dropped my arms, "C'mon, you've got to have heard of the Avengers."
"Um." He frowned.
I gave him an exasperated look. "The big building with the A on it."
His eyes lit up in recognition. "Oh! That one! Yeah, my fiance talks about the architecture."
I raised an eyebrow. "Fiance? What are you? 16"
He laughed, "17 And we've been through hell together." I could of sworn his eyes guttered. Desperate to pick up the mood, I walked over to the computer pad, the agents tensed but I just flashed them a smile and punched in the code. The glass door slid back and opened.
Percy grinned. "Cool" He said. "I need to go to the bathroom." I laughed.
Steve Rogers POV
Loki was getting on my last nerves. I walked over to the coffee machine and sighed. My thoughts drifted towards Tony.
Just a few nights ago, at 1:45, I had walked passed Tony's room when I entered his floor. I usually did that when I couldn't sleep, but I had never gotten so close to Tony's bedroom before.
The echo of his barely suppressed screams still rang in my ears when I rushed into his room to see him tossing in his bed mumbling things. Things about the chitauri, the nuke he launched into space, and, the kidnapping he endured.
It didn't even occur to me that his swaggering arrogant self was a facade. A mask to conceal his pain. I was an idiot to even think it was, too much time spent comparing him to Howard.
"Must Stark leave that dreadful imprint there." Turning around I saw Loki scowling at the dent his body made from the last time the Hulk and him had a one on one. I couldn't help but smile at the memory of seeing it for the first time.
"What is it Loki." I sighed, all amusement gone.
"Can I not simply be where if I wish to be?" He asked innocently though the smile he gave was anything but.
Before I could reply the elevator opened and out came Tony. He gave us a grin. "Hey Cap, Rock of Ages." Loki frowned at the name. "We have someone Fury wants us to keep, I'll brief you down about it later when the rest of the team is here."
I frowed. "So, where is he?"
Tony blinked. "What? Oh! He's taking the stairs, doesn't like elevators." As if on cue, a 17 year old boy came from the stairs and immediately spotted Loki and me.
"These your friends?" He asked Tony. I looked to the billionaire who just shrugged.
"One is, the other's just annoying." Loki bristled at the term of words, but I saw the two assess each other. Percy gave Loki a grin and stuck out his hand.
"Percy Jackson." Loki blinked and regarded the hand as if it were going to try and kill him.
"Loki Laufeyson," he replied, a vicious smile on his face. I waited for realisation and fear to cloud his eyes. Waited for him to stumble back or shake in terror.
All we got was Percy tilting his head and saying, "Like the norse dude Magnus talks about?"
Loki blinked at the unexpected reaction. "I do not know of anyone called Magnus."
Percy shrugged. "You must be another version of you're counterpart." Then he turned his gaze to me.
He stuck his hand out and I shook it, his hands were surprisingly calloused and had a firm grip. "Steve Rogers." I said.
"Percy Jackson. As you probably heard."
Tony coughed. "Alright Kid, I'll get JARVIS to set up a floor for you."
"A floor?" Percy blinked. He looked at me for confirmation, I nodded.
"Yep, JARVIS, lead Percy to one of the spare floors." Tony said to no one in particular.
"Right away sir." JARVIS replied.
Percy immediately tensed, but aloud the voice to lead him to his floor.
Immediately turning to Tony, I gave him a look and he put his hands up in surrender. "I know I know. I might of been pestering Fury a tiny bit and he gave him to us to i don't know, find out more about him."
I sighed. "Let's get the rest of the team up here then."
"Apollo what are you doing?" Artemis asked.
"I'm listening to music with Percy why?" He replies. His sister rolled her eyes as Apollo stretched the music over to Hermes' ears.
"Well stop because there's a boy coming." As she said that Apollo pulled away the music making Percy aware of the footsteps coming his way.
"Tony Stark." Ares grunted. "Used to make weapons, 'till he almost got blown up by one of 'em." Athena nodded her confirmation.
Hephaestus perked at the name 'Stark'. "He's also a brilliant inventor just like Daedalus."
Dionysus though, looked at the man's glass. "I appreciate his taste in wine."
The man put his hand to the glass and grinned as Percy got up and leaned on it.
"Oh finally! We get to watch the punk outside of the cell." Ares grinned. "So where we headed to?"
"Avengers towers." Stark said. Ares blinked, then grinned and leaned back still chewing open mouthed.
"Percy doesn't know who the Avengers are ..." Hermes frowned. "Which means he doesn't know about the Chitauri attack. Understandable, if he did we'd know."
"Yeah, but he was also in Tartarus at the time." Dionysus added. Everyone quieted at that. Athena and Poseidon going green in the face. "Oh look. They're leaving!" The wine god quickly added. "Oh, wait, no. Perry's going to the bathroom."
"Uugghh."
This line break is brought to you by dams.
"I never understood why he always takes the stairs." Zeus grumbled. "Everytime he goes to Olympus, it's via pegasus."
"Because of the Doors of Death." Hades said as he flashed in. "The Chase girl does that too." Then he turned to Hermes. "I got your message, thought I'd come and watch."
"Wait, which one's the friend and which one's annoying?" Poseidon asked.
"Loki's annoying, Cap's the friend." Ares mumbled. "And stop giving me weird looks. I'm allowed to know this!"
"Is Loki trying to scare him?" Hermes asked, amused. "I mean, he's not doing a very good job."
"Like the norse dude Magnus talks about?" Percy asked.
"Wait, what? Who's Magnus?" Hermes asked. Apparently George and Martha took that as their go to start searching.
"Loki doesn't even know who he's talking about." Artemis snorted.
"I think he's talking about Magnus Chase," Martha said. "Annabeth Chase's cousin and a Norse demigod son of Frey. He died when he was sixteen-"
"Which ironically was when we all thought Percy was gonna die." George cut in.
Martha whacked him on the head. "Don't interrupt me. As I was saying, died when he was sixteen and went to Valhalla, sneaks out regularly and, oh, Percy has helped train him before."
"Oh, must be another version." Percy shrugged from the hearth.
"Indeed." Zeus nodded.
Hades leaned forwards when the blonde introduced himself. "The man stuck in the ice, and the man out of his time. He was supposed to die a long time ago." he said, mostly to himself, but everyone was listening. "But Khione and Thanatos were having a fight so when Steve fell into the ice, at the end of WWII, Khione decided to keep him away so Thanatos couldn't reap his soul. And he didn't come out of it for 70 years."
Everyone was silent for a minute before they realised Percy was going back to the stairs. "Wait, what's happening?" Ares asked.
Athena rolled her eyes, honestly, they don't listen to anything. "He's going to his bedroom floor."
"Ohhhh."
Done! hoped you liked it, please tell me what you think.
And votes would be appreciated.
