CHAPT 6 - BLUE PANCAKES ...
OK guys guess what?
So tana1742 was the one who suggested the Olympian's react over in Wattpad. This is the chapter that she brought it to my attention so obviously I shouldn't be taking the credit for that :)
Btw I knoooow the story that I'm about to say isn't actually in Norse Mythology. I don't care. I made it up so you can just deal with it. *Puts on Persassy glasses*
Also I know that Dr Helen Cho is a geneticist not a doctor in the medical field. But she's more of a doctor than Bruce so deal with it. *Puts on another pair of Persassy glasses*
Anyways, next chapter!
Loki Laufeyson POV
I walked into the kitchen making myself some sustenance out of those mortal machines. They call this one coffee. It's dark and bitter, (A/N like no one's soul so shush.) but it's addictive.
As I entered the dining room, I saw one Perseus Jackson eating 4 Blue pancakes drenched in Maple Syrup. All I did was roll my eyes and sit down next to him, stealing one of them - much to the demigod's dismay. "I'm not even going to bother telling you that you're drowning them so don't bother replying."
He closed his mouth, smiling and cut into his pancake, munching on it. We were silent for a few minutes before I cleared my throat. "Perseus."
"Percy."
"I like Perseus" I replied. He gave me a look before giving in. I smirked before remembering the topic. "Last night." I began. His mood shifted as well, growing more guarded.
"I don't know why I said that. I just met everyone and I already said one of my darkest memories. Memories I keep locked up tight. Maybe the Fates had something to do with it." His eyes shone with irritation.
I nodded. "But I need to talk to you." He looked at me for a long moment, just studying me. It would have made any lesser being squirm.
"Is it about that look you gave me? The one that looked so full of understanding that I wanted to puke from how horrifying that is?" I hesitated before nodding. He looked me right in the eyes. I looked right back, unflinching to the pain I saw in them.
"Odin used to have tournaments to the death." I began, letting out a long breathe. "Those tournaments would be punishments to those who have done unspeakable things."
"Like murder?" He asked. I winced internally at that word. One of the only memories I had of my time on midgard two months ago fell into my mind. A scepter, a ball, Stuttgart, a man standing defiantly. And me, holding a scepter towards him, not intending for him to come out of this alive. I blinked, pushing away the memory.
"Yes." I croaked. "Like murder."
Perseus seemed to realise that he said something. "Loki you don't have to-"
"Yes I do." I took a deep breathe. "One of the tournament competitors was begging to be released. At first I looked down upon him. He had hurt many." I felt a pang again. "But he said he was innocent. And I started to believe him. So I looked into the crime. He'd killed a family of 4."
"That's horrible." Perseus said, voice barely audible but anger evident. If he was angry about a murder of 4, how would he react if the avengers told him what he'd done? stop.
"I found out that he was innocent. Framed in fact." My lips started to tingle with phantom pain.
"By who?" Perseus seethed. Ah, yes. He was framed for something as well.
"By the king of Asgard himself. Odin, the Allfather." Perseus' eyes widened. "The family had stumbled upon something they shouldn't have, so he'd killed them. The man was nearby when the Allfather framed him of the murder.
"When I found out, I rushed to find my broth- Thor, I hoped that he would believe me. To him, he had always been above me. His friends felt the same. For a male to practice seidr ... even if it was in my veins, something I was born with. I was still sneered at by Thor and the others."
Perseus' fists clenched.
"So when I told him, even showed him the evidence, he did not listen. Instead he told the Allfather."
"Oh gods." Perseus paled several shades.
"So to keep me from saying anything else, he sewed my lips." Perseus' eyes pricked with silver. "He told everyone that it was a punishment for telling lies. And then he gave me the title as 'God of Lies.' from spite. The only person who has ever trusted me since was my mother." at least who I thought was my mother.
"I'm so sorry Loki." And when I looked into Perseus' eyes, all I saw was sincerity. I nodded and went back to my coffee. The conversation drifted elsewhere and the mood picked up. We were talking about seidr when the first person arrived.
Natasha Romanoff walked into the room, coffee and toast in hand. The first thing that her eyes darted to, was me, then Perseus - as if she were trying to work out what we were talking about. Then her eyes drifted to the still two remaining, blue pancakes. Her eyes narrowed. "Did Loki make those for you?" she asked.
Perseus shook his head and nibbled on a pancake. "Have you ever seen Loki eat a blue pancake?" He asked.
She shook her head. "I was just wondering if it were a poison. There are certain poisons that turn the food blue." She informed sitting down across from us. The demigod looked at his pancake for a few seconds before shrugging and taking a huge bite. "What were you two talking about?"
I just grinned at her maliciously. "Wouldn't you like to know little ballerina."
Perseus rolled his eyes. "Seidr. It's a form of magic on Asgard. It's celebrated throughout the realm."
I snorted. "For women to use it. Men are disgraced."
Perseus ignored me. "Loki, here, was born with seidr. Frigga taught him how to use it until he grew even better than the queen herself."
Natasha's eyes filled with interest. "So this magic- seidr, it's only allowed to be used by woman?" She asked turning to Loki.
I felt a bit uncomfortable with the assassin looking at me with something other than hate or annoyance, but I didn't let that show. Instead I shrugged. "It's not forbidden from men, but, we are expected to be using weapons like axes and swords or in Thor's case, hammers, whilst woman are exempt in learning the art of seidr. I prefer magic over brute force, it doesn't help my status that I was also born with it. I also prefer, if in need of violence, to use my twin daggers. Nothing too dramatic in my opinion."
Natasha opened her mouth to say something but at that moment Bruce walked in. He eyed the blue pancakes then eyed me for a few seconds before sitting next to Natasha and leaning that ever so slightly away from me. I ignored the hurt, because what I'd apparently done to Midgard, was most likely the reason he was doing that. Even if it wasn't me. They didn't need to know that.
"So" Banner started, he looked to Natasha for help but, it seemed she was trying to suppress a smile.
"So" Perseus grinned putting even more syrup on his already drenched pancakes.
"What's with the ... never mind." He said, shaking his head.
A few seconds later Clint walked in with a bowl of cereal in hand. "Hey Nat, Bruce ... Perce." Then proceeded to ignore me.
"Hey Clint." Natasha said as he sat down on the other side of her. Clint looked at the pancakes, quizzically but didn't say anything.
"Looks like everyone's coming up around now." Perseus noted.
Clint gave him an incredulous look. "Usually the average teenager would be awake in about 1 hour before Tony gets up. Why are you up so early?"
Perseus was about to open his mouth when Thor lumbered into the room. His eyes grew wide with delight when he saw the pancakes, a grin spreading on his face. "Blue pancakes?" I rolled my eyes. "Brother look. Blue pancakes. The Blue Pancakes! From the stories!"
Everyone was looking in between, Perseus, Thor and I. Even Clint payed attention to me for the first time since I was here. "Is there some symbolism with the food or something?" He asked.
Before Thor could open his big mouth, Percy spoke for him. "Oh it's just a tradition in Nunya."
"Nunya?" Bruce asked.
"Nunya dam business."
"You walked into that one Bruce." Clint snickered.
He was about to open his mouth but the elevator dinged open and out came a sweaty Steve. "Hey everyone." He said.
"Just got back from your walk then?" Tony asked walking in. "And yes I know I'm up 3 hours early but guess what? I don't care."
Steve shot a weird look towards the blue pancakes. "Is that something teenagers these days do?"
Perseus paused his chewing and I couldn't help but roll my eyes again, this time at the captain. "Umm." Was all the demigod could say. "No." Steve gave him one last weird look before sitting down next to Thor who had decided, for some reason, to sit next to me.
"Welp." Perseus said after a few minutes of talking. "I'm done." He got up and left to Odin knows where. Then, realising that I would become the center of frowns and sneers, I got up trailing after him.
Bruce Banner POV
After Percy left, I got out his file one more time. "Whatcha doing?" Clint asked.
"Looking through his medical records, Helen asked me to report them to her." I said whilst trying to find said section. My eyes grew wide when I saw the latest check up of any kind. "The last time he went to the doctors was to examine any bullet wounds from the shoot out he had when he was 12."
"Your kidding." Stark snatched the file away from me and read it himself. "Jarvis, report this information to Dr Cho."
"Right away Sir." A few seconds passed. "Dr Cho is quite inclined to do the check up now."
Stark nodded. "Perfect let's get the kid. That'll be a piece of cake."
After 15 minutes of arguing, a reluctant Percy Jackson walked into the infirmary as he called it, whilst we watched the whole thing through the cameras. "Dr." He said stiffly.
She gave him a kind smile. "Helen is fine." She set her things on the table and turned to him, gesturing to a seat. He sat. "So it says on your file that your last check up was when you were twelve, is this true?"
Percy frowned. "Well ... no ... I have my own doctors, two actually, but they aren't in the system." I looked at the rest of the team. Why did he get medical attention from them?
Helen nodded. "Well, because they're not in the system, we need to thoroughly check you out to see if they've missed anything, okay?" He nodded. "Good. So first up will be just checking your mental health."
"Yeah, I've probably gone insane a long time ago with the way my cousin and I get along." Percy laughed. Helen smiled slightly.
"Okay, to confirm or deny your theory, I'm going to say random words and then your going to tell me the first thing that comes to your mind m'kay?" He nodded a little hesitantly.
Percy Jackson POV
"Okay." Helen smiled and grabbed a notebook and pen.
"Food."
"Blue"
"Tree."
"Thals."
"Water."
"Freedom."
"Love."
"Wise Girl."
"Kindness."
"Aunty H."
"Boat."
"Argo."
"Family."
"Messy."
"Loss."
"Pain."
Dr. Helen nodded and jotted a few things down. "Alright, moving on, your physical state." I looked at myself, I looked healthy enough, whatever the questions were, I'm sure I could handle them. Helen smiled reassuringly. "Okay, so it says here you've been diagnosed with ADHD, Dyslexia and Claustrophobia when you were 6?"
"Yeah." I laughed trying to dull out my nerves. "Makes it pretty hard at school."
She laughed as well. "Alright any broken bones?"
I pause in thought. "Umm, I broke 9 ribs, one shoulder, one knee, one wrist and then I also fractured my hip." I frowned, how did I manage to get so beaten up?
Dr Helen's brows rose. "That's quite an impressive number. Any other injuries?" My hand moves to my palm subconsciously, brushing over the scar that Luke gave me. She notices. "Can I see your hand?" She asks kindly. I show her my right hand but she doesn't take it. Sighing, I give her my left hand and she examines the scar. "How did you get this?" She asked, "It goes through your hand."
I pulled my hand away and shrugged, "I messed with a scorpion when I was younger. It got annoyed and stung me." I laughed. "It's not the most stupid thing I've heard. My cousin, Jason, he tried to eat a stapler. He's got a battle scar on his lip to tell the tale."
Helen looked at me. "Was there poison in that scorpion sting?"
"Um, yeah." I winced at how weak I felt. How the Dryads helped me towards Chiron because if I'd tried to myself, I wouldn't have been able to stand. "Yeah, there was poison in that sting."
"Okay, now that we've moved to that topic, any poisons or drugs? Besides the scorpion of course." She jotted some things down on some paper before looking back up at me, that kind smile still on her face.
I shifted uncomfortably. "No." I said finally. Her eyes narrowed.
"Don't make me hook you up to a lie detector."
I sighed. "6. Poisons, not drugs." I didn't reach her eyes but I knew she was studying me with some sort of emotion.
"The names of the poisons?" She asked softly.
"I don't know. Never did, never cared to know." I shrugged, remembering how I was more hung up on surviving then learning the names. I smiled at the thought of me going up to one of the monsters and casually asking. 'Oh, by the way, y'know, just to clarify, this is Bloodbane not Nightshade right? Cool, thanks.'
Helen nodded. "Okay. With this information, I need to do a blood test to see if the poison is still in your blood."
"Don't you think I would be dead if it were?"
"Were all types of poisons meant to kill?" She asked, eyebrow raised.
"Well ... no," I said remembering Dr Thorn and an Empousa I ran into who fed me a poison that would show you your worst nightmares. A bit like if Phobos put his powers into a vial.
"Then that's why I need to check." She said grabbing a needle. I frowned at the thing. I shouldn't have said anything. I felt a prick and weird feeling and then my arm felt really tingly. "That sensation your feeling is the body trying to push more blood from where I extracted it." I nodded.
While the doctor was doing that, I took the chance to look around the room. I inched away from the tech looking at it like i'd look at a monster. Irritated.
"Alright, it'll take awhile for the results to come out so I'm just going to check if your heart beat is in order. Could you lift up your shirt for me?" My heart sank. Then again, she hasn't shown me any pity so far anyways. Hesitantly, I lifted up my shirt.
There were two rough circles on the left and right side of my body, like an arrow went through it. That, of course, was courtesy of Geryon and the Arai. Then one thin white line crossing my chest. Then there were a few very faded small scars from Gabe. I felt a feeling - my dad, comforting.
A small intake in breathe, but the doctor put the stethoscope to my chest and told me to do certain breathing exercises. "Alright." She smiled, putting her things down. "Your all done. You can leave. Have a nice day Percy."
I smiled, relieved at her and walked out after saying farewell.
"Gooood Morning Perce!" Apollo shouted and laughed as they watched through the hearth, a sleeping Percy. The demigod grumbled a 'shut up' before turning over. "Come on Sunshine, there's a whole day you'll waist."
"It's 7:00 am Apollo leave me alone." He whined. Poseidon watched on amused. "Hypnos says shut up too." The demigod added.
Apollo placed a hand to his chest in mock hurt. "Hypnos! How could you!?"
An incoherent reply, then the son of Poseidon hauled himself out of bed. "'Till tonight." He patted his bed. "Fine, you win, only because your annoying."
"Well at least it came to good use." Apollo reasoned back. They watched as the demigod walked to the stairs at the end of his floor and slowly hauled himself up. Several yawns later, he was in the kitchen.
"Whatcha making?" Hermes asked.
"A unicorn." Percy rolled his eyes and grabbed the blue food dye.
"Sorry son, I already made them." Poseidon laughed.
Demeter frowned. "I hope it's cereal."
Percy sighed. "Your all so difficult." He put some flower in a bowl. "I'm making blue pancakes."
"Oh the famous Jackson blue food." Hermes hummed. "Delicious." All Demeter did was frown.
"Yep." The demigod smirked. "These guys - the Avengers, they aren't that bad. Loki's pretty cool."
Apollo was about to tell Percy about the god but Hermes clapped a hand over his mouth. "Yeah, Loki's awesome."
"Have you IMed Annabeth yet?" Aphrodite smiled.
Percy's face fell. "I can't. Too many cameras. She's gonna kill me though."
"Well why didn't you just say so?" Hephaestus huffed and then clicked his fingers. "There. Now, whenever you want to Iris Message anyone, the camera's will not be able to record it."
Percy's eyes lit up as he added the first bit of batter into the pan. "Thanks H. I owe you one."
Hephaestus waved a hand. "You can make it up to me by calling her now so I can get some better entertainment." Percy huffed a laugh.
"Alright." He pulled a drachma out of his pocket after making a rainbow. "Hey Fleecy, do me a solid and show me my Wise girl." The rainbow shimmered to reveal a set of woods, a group of girls in silver, and a singular girl dressed in an orange t shirt.
Artemis smiled.
Thalia was the one facing the Iris message so she was the first one to notice and grin. "Hey Kelp head." She greeted.
"Morning Pinecone Face." He replied.
Annabeth whirled around and her eyes immediately filled with relief, her shoulders sagging. "Percy. You're alright."
Said demigod put a hand to the back of his neck. "I'm so sorry. I'm so so sorry. I know you hate it when I'm missing for longer than I tell you I'll be. It's all my fault and-"
Annabeth interrupted him. "Seaweed Brain, it's alright. The gods told me what happened, the Fates and all. They keep me updated."
"Please don't kill me?" Percy asked and Annabeth snorted.
"No promises."
Thalia had a stupid smirk on her face. "Well I didn't care one bit." Was all she said and Annabeth snorted.
"Mhm, you and Nico weren't stressing over your cousin's whereabouts at all?" Annabeth raised her eyebrow.
"Nope." Thalia crossed her arms and winked. "I couldn't care less if we found him in a ditch, mauled by a hellhound."
Percy snorted. "And I couldn't care less if I found you impaled and dead on the ground."
"Exactly." Thalia smirked at Annabeth who just rolled her eyes.
Percy laughed. "I love you both, see you later."
"Bye Kelpie." Thalia smirked.
"Bye Seaweed brain, don't die." And then Annabeth swiped her hand through the mist, ending the call.
Hephaestus grumbled. "I thought that would be more entertaining."

Percy was down to four pancakes when Loki walked in, coffee in hand, snatching one before it drowned a horrible death. 'Excuse me!? The audacity' Percy said to everyone in the throne room causing it to erupt with laughter.
Everyone watched as Loki told his story, the true story behind him becoming the God of lies. Hestia shook her head, sadness in her eyes.
When the topic moved onto seidr, Athena expressed her interest in the subject. Which then turned into a heated argument with Hermes - who was just messing around - about how logic fits into the topic of magic.
Natasha Romanoff entered the conversation later on. "Ha! She thought it was poisoned." Hermes laughed. "You'd think Percy would see the change in colour."
"Can we take a moment to look at how Percy reacted to that though?" Apollo laughed as well.
Soon everyone was there, including the super soldier who had come back from running. "They're all staring at the pancakes." Artemis said, amused.
"I like the arrow guy." Demeter said. "He eats his cereal. Unlike someone." She huffed at the demigod.
"Well Arty and I like Clint as well Demi," Apollo grinned. "But I can assure you it's for different reasons."
'Okay, cool I finished the pancakes now I can leave this awkward conversation.' Percy told them.
"So Perce," Apollo asked. "Whatcha gonna do now?"
"I was thinking of planning our next pranks." His reply was focused on Hermes and Apollo and the rest of the Olympians groaned.
Before anyone could say anything, Loki caught up to him. "Hey Lokes. Why are you here?"
"First of all. I prefer Loki."
"I like Lokes."
Hermes snickered "He just used his own words against him."
Loki just sighed. "Very well, but the reason I am here is because you are the only one that does not seem to hate me."
"What about Thor?"
"I ... do not wish to be around him." Was all he said.
Percy nodded. "Alright. Let's go to my floor and we can watch some TV." Loki just nodded. They opened netflix and started watching Ocean's 8. Loki enjoyed it ... a lot. So did Hermes, who was telling everyone how to instruct the heist before it happened.
Then Tony and Bruce walked through the elevator doors right as the good part started. "Hush." Loki said, staring intensely at the screen. "They are about to pull off one of the greatest heists in all time. It will be very climactic."
Tony gave him a weird look before turning to Percy. "Don't you dare say a thing." Hermes whined. "I need to see how this plays oouut."
Tony opened his mouth. "So we need you to go to the medical room." He started.
"Why?" Percy asked, suspicious.
"We need you to get examined by Dr Helen Cho." Bruce informed.
"Excuse you!" Apollo screamed. "I'm the best doctor he'll ever have!.. Oh and of course my son, Will is amazing and all."
This line break is reminding you to do today's duolingo lesson and save your family.
After fifteen minutes of watching a heated argument, the Olympians looked on as Percy walked into the medical room. "Say hi." Apollo instructed, Percy did. "Just do whatever she says and shut up."
Everyone watched the introduction quietly. The only interruption was a few snickers throughout the throne room when Percy informed the doctor that 'I've probably gone insane a long time ago with the way my cousin and I get along.'
The doctor didn't crack her calm mask, which Apollo nodded his head at, showing his approval. Poseidon looked away when he saw the scars.
After Percy walked out of the medical room, several relieved sighs were heard. Athena was the only one who looked stiff. "What's wrong?" Artemis asked.
"They took a sample of his blood." Athena murmured. "When they check blood, they automatically do a DNA scan." Everyone went silent. "So they'll only see half of the DNA."
Well hello children. How we doing?
Did you buy your Tartarus tour tickets?
Anyways. We got to see Annabeth! And Thalia! I do love their bond, the three cousins. I find them very wholesome. Also we just needed some Percabeth.
So what did you think?
As always, votes would be appreciated.
