When Atlantis splashed down outside San Francisco everyone let out a relieved breath and the expedition members thought the city's position would be temporal but the IOA made sure Atlantis couldn't leave; couldn't return where it was needed the most - the Pegasus Galaxy. However circumstances makes it imminent for her to leave Earth before it's too late for everyone.

After returning to the Pegasus galaxy, John is annoyed to find out that Woolsey wants his team to re-establish contact with the Athosians. After a frustrating day on New Athos, things go incredibly wrong for John and Teyla when on their way home they come across a strange anomaly. Things get worse when they are sucked into the anomaly and find themselves on a strange planet.

A completely alternate reality where Rodney and Sam have been best friends since childhood and get contracted to the SGC to help Zelenka. Mitchell and Jack have basically swapped roles and ages, the Atlantis expedition goes ahead with a few extra people and John and Rodney rescue each other from their lonely lives. When Ronon Dex is freed from being a Runner and brought back to Atlantis, he is confronted with culture shock unlike anything he ever expected. Grace Becque is an anthropologist with the expedition who is content to remain in the background. When the two are sent on a mission together, Ronon is tasked with keeping Grace safe in a tricky situation with unexpected outcomes.

Rodney points out John's similarity to Captain James T Kirk of the starship Enterprise. Ronon denies the similarity and points out a significant piece of evidence to the contrary. Rodney becomes a little obsessed. [Slash - McShep]
