A/N: Don't mind me, I'm just laughing at the idea that Charlie Weasley can go toe to toe with dragons, but finding out he's having twins makes the man faint. It really wasn't something I planned, but it just felt right and honestly, I just had to go with it.

I guess I can tell you how my husband reacted to the news that I was pregnant with our youngest.

The man, oh that irritating man. We had been trying for around 18 months with our youngest and I was about ready to give up. He agreed that we'd try for one more month, but honestly, we were going through a lot emotionally (I'll save that story for another time). We had decided that if it didn't happen that we would be done. He could go and get a vasectomy and put trying to conceive behind us.

WELL

For our 4th anniversary, I just had a feeling so I took a test. Positive, finally fucking positive.

I'm overjoyed, put together the little announcement that I'd had hidden away in our room for the last year and all but run out to the couch where he was sitting.

I have my phone out so I can record his reaction, I'm thinking he's going to be excited and cute like those other dads I'd seen videos of.

No, not my husband. I hand him the announcement and he looks me straight in the eye and says "Can I get snipped now?" :|

To celebrate our 5th anniversary, he did get snipped.

Ope, you finally get to meet Hermione's parents…..

The Big Announcement

It was Christmas Eve, five days since of letting it digest that Hermione and Charlie were not only going to become parents together, but that it was going to be a double dose of parenting come mid-June.

Pacing in her sitting room in her flat, her fire place lit up and out stepped Charlie. Hermione stopped her movements as soon as her eyes landed on him. He wasn't overly thrilled at the pregnancy, but he was trying and that's really what counted for her right now.

"We're doing this. Then tomorrow we're telling my parents." Hermione was bouncing on the balls of her feet. She knew that tonight was going to be filled with questions and Molly probably trying to set a wedding date, but she knew that it needed to be done sooner rather than later.

"Hey, don't forget I've never even met your parents and tomorrow we're going to break the news that I've gotten you pregnant for my first meeting with them." Charlie ran his hands up and down on Hermione's arms trying to soothe her, and it really was working, at least for a moment.

"Okay, well when are we telling them? Like do we stand up and make a toast before they eat. Maybe that'll work. I mean at least Ron will not have a lot to say because his mouth will be full of food. Scratch that, he'll still have a lot to say, except food will be flying everywhere out of his mouth." Hermione was nodding her head. Absentmindedly she brought her hands down to rub the very noticeable bump under the maternity dress that Ginny had given her.

"We can make a toast after dinner and the gifts if you want, then the evening will be just about over and we can come back here to escape mum. How does that sound?" Charlie gently lifted her chin, so that Hermione could look into his eye.

"That, actually sounds like a great plan." Hermione thought about it and decided that it was actually pretty perfect. No wonder she was in love with this man.

Wait, what?

Let's just stick that little piece away for a bit longer and we'll revisit that idea at a later date.

"Okay, let's go."

"You look beautiful."

Hermione stepped through the floo and into the bustling room full of children running and yelling with excitement. Stepping further in, she saw Teddy Lupin swooping in to give Victoire a kiss on the cheek after they had stumbled under the mistletoe that was in the doorway leading to the kitchen.

Little Molly, Dominique, Louis, and Roxanne were being chased by George who had charmed a stuffed dragon to fly after them. Every now and then it would roar and breath out a stream of glitter, covering the children in a mess.

Ginny, Audrey, and Angelina were all holding their babies. Padma was with them and had a bit of a baby bump showing through the jumper that she was wearing. They looked like they were talking about babies and giving the mom to be some pointers.

Finally, Hermione spotted her best friends, who were in an intense wizard chess game against the wall furthest from her. Sighing, Hermione began to try to maneuver her way towards them. She hadn't made it more than a few steps before her protruding belly ran straight into Bill Weasley.

Eyes wide, Bill looked down at the lump under her dress and back at her.

"MIONE!" Harry had looked up and noticed her standing in the middle of the room. "COME HERE, I NEED HELP!"

"Excuse me, Bill." Hermione fluffed her dress a bit more to try and hide the bump from any other wandering eyes. Hermione knew that she wasn't ready to have a night full of everyone knowing that she was up the duff with Charlie's babies.

"You know I'm rubbish at chess." Hermione said as she made it to her friends and looked down at the board. It looked like Ron was two, maybe one move away from a checkmate.

"Yeah, but I can turn this around." Harry insisted as his put his hand to his chin and began to rub at the stubble that had grown there.

Hermione chanced a glance up at where she'd left Bill in the middle of the room. Though, when she tried to find him, he was no where around. Fleur was engaged in a conversation with Arthur and Percy, but nowhere near was her husband.

Now that she thought about it, Charlie was also missing from the crowd of Weasleys.

"Fucking hell, shit, sorry Mione!" Harry had called out as Ron won their game. Hermione looked down and saw that a flying broken piece from the chess board had cut the back of her leg.

"Don't worry about it, honestly it's nothing too major. I'll just run up to the bathroom and clean it up. I'll be right back." Hermione excused herself and began to make her way up their stairs when she was stopped by the sound of voices.

"Twins, damn. Well, what are you going to do about Romania? They still expecting you back in September?" Bill's voice carried to where she was hidden behind the landing.

"I really don't want to give up living in Romania forever, it's home. England just isn't home for me anymore." Charlie replied sounding slightly defeated.

"You'll just have to tell her. I know you did this move so you could give your relationship a chance, but kids complicate it. I just don't want you to end up being resentful of being forced to do something you don't want."

"I'm still not really crazy about the idea of kids, but Merlin I love her. Being away from her for twelve weeks after she left was the worst time of my life. Then I get here and she's, Gods Bill, she's just perfect. I'd do anything that witch wanted, just to see her smile, you know?"

"Yeah, I know exactly what you mean little brother. Come on, mum will have our arses if we make everyone wait to eat."

Hermione turned and was trying to scurry away so that she wouldn't get caught listening in on their private conversation, but she wasn't the most graceful person not pregnant, and with the aid of her newly growing belly it made her even more clumsy.

"Watch it, Mione! Hey, what the bloody hell? Are you pregnant?" Ron had caught her just as she had tripped on the last steps, preventing her from falling flat on her face.

Ron's outburst wasn't missed, because right as he spoke Molly had exited the kitchen with Andromeda.

"Hermione, are you really?" Molly flicked her wand and sent the dishes of food to float towards the garden where the tables were set for dinner. "Oh my, another baby! Oh, look at you dear! You're rather far along, what are you. I'd guess twenty-four or twenty-five weeks from the look of you."

The entire room had gone silent and was watching open mouthed, as Molly flattened the dress Hermione was wearing against her belly, so's that she could get a better look at the bump.

"Er, no. I'm about seventeen weeks now." Hermione was finding it hard to meet Molly's eye. "It's twins, so that's why I look so much bigger than I really am."

"Twins! Oh, this is so wonderful! I didn't realize you were dating anyone, are you engaged now then? Why haven't you brought him around yet?" Hermione could feel the blush rising on her face as Molly continued to speak. Still, no one else in the room spoke, aside from the children who had no idea what was happening.

"Well, mum. I was going to tell you after dinner. Er, Hermione and I have been seeing each other since Ron's wedding. The babies are mine." Charlie had materialized behind her, reaching his arms around her waist and letting his hands rest on her stomach.

Hermione chanced a look up from her shoes that she had been studying since Ron had caught her. Every jaw, aside from Ginny and Fleur was slack. Ginny was the opposite of being speechless actually. She was doubled over in silent laughter and wiping away the tears that were running down her face.

"Congratulations, to the pair of you, you're going to make excellent parents." Arthur had gotten up and had joined his wife in front of Hermione and Charlie.

"Thanks, dad." Charlie lifted his right hand off her belly, and shook his father's hand.

It was at that point that Molly had found her voice again, and it wasn't entirely for the best that she had. "Charles Weasley, oh my, oh my. I'll have to get to work on a guest list. I'm sure we still have the guest list from Ron's wedding. That'll be a good place since he and Hermione were friends with a lot of the same people. Oh my gosh, when are the babies due? We'll have to make quick work with this wedding." Molly began to shuffle back towards the kitchen when Hermione's words stopped her.

"Molly, we aren't getting married just because we're having babies together. That would be completely inappropriate to wed for the sake of children. I'd rather not try to force my relationship to move in a direction that we aren't ready for, just because of impending parenthood for the pair of us."

"Hermione, dear, you don't understand, you can't just go around having illegitimate children in the wizarding world." Molly was trying to say, but before Hermione could open her mouth Charlie had beat her to it.

"Mum, I love you, but we aren't getting married unless we want to. This pregnancy, while not planned, is something that just happened. We're both adults, and we will be able to figure this out between the two of us."

"Oh, Charlie please see reason!" Molly began to scold, but was cut off when Arthur walked over and wrapped one arm around his wife's waist.

"Molly dear, why don't we get dinner started. It is still Christmas Eve, and we do have an entire litter of little ones who have been waiting to be able to open their gifts."

"Yes, yes, of course, Andromeda, can you help me with getting all the food out back." As he led his wife away, Arthur turned back towards where Hermione and Charlie were standing and gave a wink before he continued away with her.

"Blimey, twins. Better you than me, mate." Ron hadn't moved from where he had been when he'd caught Hermione. "Well, um. Wow, my wedding huh? Okay, well. Bloody hell, twins."

Ron awkwardly kept looking between Hermione and Charlie. Clearly not sure what he should be saying or doing with this news that they were indeed an item.

"Wait, that love bite at Charlie's birthday dinner. Oh, you two. Damn, Hermione. It's really gross thinking about you having sex, especially with one of my brothers. Okay, I'm going to walk away now."

Ron thrust his hands into his pockets and walked away muttering to himself as he went to go find his wife.

"That went as well as I would have expected with my mum, I think we caused something in Ron's mind to snap a little though. I don't know if I've ever seen him stumble over his words that much." Charlie was whispering into her ear. "Did you hear any of my conversation with Bill?"

Hermione felt the flush reaching up her neck and taking over her cheeks.

"Just the end, I did yes."

"I didn't want the first time you heard me confess my love for you to be second hand in a conversation with my brother." Charlie was nuzzling against her ear still, as the room was clearing out and leaving them alone.

Hermione stayed rooted to the spot she was standing, just nodding her head. When the last of the Weasley family had finally exited the room, Hermione turned so that she was facing Charlie.

"I love you, Charlie Weasley. I know this isn't the life you expected for yourself, but I hope to spend as much of it with you as you'll allow me." Hermione rested her head against Charlie's chest, enjoying listening to the steady rhythm of his heart beating.

"I love you too, Hermione Granger. Life has a way of working things out to being good, even if it's not what we thought was going to happen." Charlie lifted her chin and left a light kiss on her lips.

Hermione and Charlie made their way out to where the dinner table was set up and everyone was already settled in and eating. There were two open seats between Bill and Harry that she and Charlie slipped into next to each other.

After filling a plate with all the amazing foods Molly and Andromeda had prepared, Hermione settled in and began to eat. She couldn't remember a time she'd ever been so hungry and ate with enough enthusiasm to rival Ron's.

"I'm going to be the godfather, right?" Harry asked leaning towards Hermione causing her to choke on her food suppressing a laugh.

"Oi, Charlie's spawn will be my godchild. He was my best man in my wedding after all, it's only fitting that I'd be the godfather." Bill had leaned over and was shooting a smirk and a wink Hermione's way.

"There are two, so you get one and I get the other I suppose." Harry shot back at Bill with a mischievous smile playing on his lips.

"Yes, and if they're both girls we'll be naming them Wilma and Harriet after you two. Wouldn't want the pair of you to feel left out in anyway." Charlie joked along.

"And that's how you get any say in their names revoked." Hermione challenged as she looked up into Charlie's eyes that were filled with joy.

"Are you going to find out if they're boys, girls, or one of each?" Ginny asked leaning across Harry.

"Oh, well when the healer told me I was having twins I sort of only half paid attention. Caught how far along I was and then ran from St. Mungo's. Charlie fainted when I told him."

Ginny, Harry, and Bill all roared with laughter as Hermione recounted her attempts to wake Charlie and how she had ended up casting aguamenti and spraying Charlie in the face to revive him. Charlie was also laughing along with his siblings and brother-in-law.

Hermione smiled up at her love and the father of her children, with a glance down, Charlie's warm brown eyes sent a wave of peace over her and she knew that everything would work itself out.

Meet the Grangers

Deep breath in, deep breath out. Deep breath in, deep breath out. Hermione was chanting to herself as she made her walk towards her parent's front door. Rolling her neck, she heard as it let out audible pops, releasing some of the tension.

"You can do this. You can introduce your parents to your boyfriend and at the same time say, oh and by the way you're going to be grandparents twice in June." Hermione stretched her shoulders back to help straighten out her back.

"Boyfriend, eh?" Charlie leaned down towards her, with a laugh in his throat letting his lips find the top of her head.

"Oh please, if I'm going to be having your children I need something besides partner or co-parent to call you. Oh Merlin, my mum's going to kill me. She has a friend that is a midwife, and growing up anytime I'd feel off she'd ask, 'did you take a pregnancy test?' Obviously at first, I was mortified because I wasn't having sex. No more rambling. Okay, let's get this over with."

Hermione lifted her hand and knocked on the front door and waited for what she knew was coming.

"JACK SHE'S HERE! JACK! JACK, SHE DID BRING THE BOYFRIEND! I CAN SEE THEM TOGETHER! JACK GET OVER HERE, THEY LOOK SO CUTE TOGETHER!" Hermione could hear her mother yelling through the door, taking in a deep breath, Hermione slowly released it again and kept her eyes looking upwards towards the clouds.

The door flung open and stood a graying and slightly older perfect replica of Hermione with the widest grin on her face. A once over look at her daughter, and Nadine Granger's eye widened with recognition as they landed on where her protruding belly was clearly visible.

"Hermione, I'm so glad you could – holy hell, are you pregnant?" Jack Granger's face turned from cheer to surprise in just a matter of seconds. The older man with the same chestnut skin tone as Hermione was bald and was at least a head taller than Charlie. "Well, I guess no eggnog for you. Jack Granger, pleasure to meet you. Nadine, darling, are you going to let the kids inside?" Jack had reached around her mother's stiff body to shake Charlie's hand.

"Charlie Weasley, the pleasure is mine." Charlie nodded at her father, as they stood on the porch not able to enter the house.

"Mum? Are you alright?" Hermione pressed waving a hand in front of her mother's face. When she still wasn't moving,

"Nadine dear? Well, Hermione, Charlie come on in." Jack lifted his wife by her waist and moved her so that she was no longer standing in the doorway blocking their entrance.

As soon as they had entered the home, they were hit with a warmth from the fireplace in the middle of the wall in the sitting room. Hermione was glad that her childhood home still felt like home. The piano that she had learned to play on was nestled near the stairs that lead up to the bedrooms, and the pale-yellow of the walls was calming and made her feel safe.

Jack waved another hand in his wife's face, and when she still didn't respond shrugged his shoulders and moved towards the plus love seat, motioning for Hermione and Charlie to take a seat on the couch near the fire place.

"This shouldn't be too much longer for Nadine to come back to us. I apologize, the last time she was this way was the day we learned that Hermione was a witch."

"How has retirement been?" Hermione asked her father, not wanting to wait on her mother to regain her composure.

After getting settled in and getting some tea, Hermione, Charlie, and her father chatted for a bit about how he had joined a health club and had recently discovered racquetball and had joined a tournament with his cousin.

"I'M GOING TO BE A GRANDMUM!" Nadine sobbed and threw herself onto Hermione and began to place kisses and rubbing a gentle hand against her stomach.

"Mother" Hermione hissed at her, but she was struggling with fighting off the smile that was tugging at her lips.

"Well, why didn't you tell us sooner, Hermione? Honestly, you look like you're more than half way through the pregnancy. Oh honey, I'm so happy for you. Hi, you must be Charlie, I'm Nadine Granger, Hermione's mother. It's very nice to meet you, but Hermione why am I just now meeting Charlie? Isn't he Ron's brother? He must be, and I know I've met all the Weasley siblings, but I would have remembered meeting Charlie." Nadine Granger was where Hermione had gotten her talent of rambling on from.

"Charlie's been living in Romania at the dragon reserve there, uh he has agreed to moved to Scotland through September to help with my sanctuary's first six months of operations though." Hermione supplied to her parents. "Oh, and it's twins by the way mum." Hermione added as an after thought taking a sip from her cup.

"Twins? Well, good for you." Jack extended his hand to Charlie and grasped it to shake.

"What do you mean he's agreed to moved to Scotland through September? And then what? The two of you are going to whisk my grandbabies off to Romania and live on a dragon reserve there?" A look had settled on her mother's face as she registered the timeline that Hermione had given her.

"Oh well, we haven't discussed that far in advance. Honest mother, I just found out about the pregnancy two weeks ago and then told Charlie last week after my appointment with the healer to see how far along I am."

"Hermione Jean, you had better get a plan in place for these babies. When is your due date again?"

"The twelfth of June, and yes obviously I have to get a plan in place, do you honestly not think I hadn't realized that? Charlie and I have hardly had the time to not only process that we're having babies, but then because I'm so far along we've been working on telling our families, and now oh Merlin Charlie we don't have a plan." The whirlwind of the past two weeks had numbed Hermione to the realization that in a short amount of time that they were going to be responsible to two new human lives.

"And you're going to be living in Scotland at the sanctuary and I'm going to still be at my flat in London. Merlin Charlie, we don't even live together! And childcare, we'll have to figure out that. Obviously, we can't just bring the babies in a pram to hang out with dragons all day."

"Hermione, Nadine, the love I feel for the pair of you runs deeper than anything I can express. However, we're going to table the discussion on what Hermione and Charlie are going to do until a bit later. I am very much looking forward to getting to know Charlie better and catching up with Hermione since we haven't seen much of her since June." While Hermione and her mother tended to fuel the panic and rambling of each other, her father was the calm beacon who had a gift at getting them to refocus and not spiral.

"You're right dear" Nadine said, putting her hand on top of Jack's. "Charlie, we'd love to hear more about you. Let's get tucked into dinner"

Without anything else being said, Hermione, Charlie, and her parents moved from the sitting room and into the dining room.

Hermione helped her mother with brining the meal to the table that was already set for four. Charlie and her father seemed to be making small talk about a new movie that had just been released that Jack seemed to think Charlie would be interested in. Charlie seemed fascinated at the idea of the movies alone, much less caring about a plot for one.

Hermione filled the wine glass that was set in front of her place setting with water while her mother poured into the other three glasses. Once they were all set, Hermione and her mother settled into their own seats, so that they were sitting across from each other with her father at the head of the table between then and Charlie next to Hermione.

"Charlie, why don't you go ahead and tell us about yourself." Hermione's father nodded towards Charlie, encouraging him to begin.

"Well, I graduated from Hogwarts in 1991, after that I moved to Romania to pursue my dream of becoming a dragon keeper and have been there since."

"So, you graduated before Hermione even started school? I'm sorry, but how old are you?" Hermione groaned as her mother grabbed onto the least interesting part of what Charlie had just said.

"I just turned thirty-six."

"Wow, Hermione that's seven years older. How have we never met you? Surely you came home more than once in a while and had a bit more, free time, than it sounds like. The two of you must know each other very well, I mean before Hermione went to Romania." Her mother innocently lifted the glass of wine she was having with dinner to her lips and took a sip.

"Mother."

"Nadine" Hermione and her father hissed at her mother at the same time. She was quickly turning this yule celebration into more of an interrogation than a simple dinner.

"What? Honestly, Jack, can you not be a bit more curious about this relationship? Hermione has never mentioned Charlie, but we've heard so much about all his other siblings. I want to know how much time he will have to commit to our grandchildren if he's going to be moving back to Romania."

Hermione threw her napkin that had been in her lap onto the table and pushed herself into a standing position.

"If you'll excuse me, I need a moment." With that, Hermione stormed out of the dining without looking back at her parents.

Hermione threw open the door to their enclosed back porch and thew herself into the wicker love seat that was out there. Her mother was being awful and she wouldn't be surprised if Charlie never wanted to come back to have another meal with her mother.

Nadine had always been the more over the top parent, and had always been vocal about what she thought was best for her daughter, while her dad was always supportive and believed that Hermione would make the best decisions for her own life.

Hermione knew that her mother was going to be difficult about her pregnancy, but she had surprised her with not being upset that Hermione had managed to accidently get pregnant, but was more concerned that Hermione hadn't already thought through and had a plan for once her children were born.

A knock on the doorway behind her brought Hermione from her thoughts as she turned to see her father standing looking at her with a somber look.

"She's just worried that's all. She really does seem to like Charlie."

"If she likes him so much, why can't she stop treating us like we are teenagers and not grown adults?" Hermione said turning towards her dad so that they were able to look at each other better.

"I can't speak for your mother, but I know this was a surprise for me and it's very unlike you to not have a full plan of action in place. I trust you, but that doesn't negate those fears that are still festering for myself and your mother."

Her dad pushed himself away from the door frame and walked over to where she was seated, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.

"I like Charlie, I just want you all the happiness for you. I know you'll figure this out, you always do."

"I don't know what to do, dad. I just found out; didn't even think I was able to have kids after everything that happened in the war. Now, here I am with a demanding career and having babies with someone who's set to move out of the country again when our children would be roughly three months old. Oh, and my boss is going to be announcing the dragon sanctuary after the new year, so I'll be having to deal with the press and whatever back lash will be coming from that."

Hermione tucked herself into her father's side just like she always had when she was a small child. He was a life raft that she was always able to find comfort in. Getting him back after the war had been a must, because Hermione couldn't imagine not having her father here to love and support her.

"I understand, now how about we go back in there and save Charlie from your mother?" Jack rubbed a hand up and down Hermione's arm for comfort.

"Alright, alright. Hopefully she hasn't scared Charlie off yet."

"He works with dragons; you'd think he'd be able to handle a tiny Greek woman."

"Yes, well. Nadine Granger is much more intimidating than any dragon. I can promise you that." Hermione said with a small laugh, causing a booming laugh to erupt from her father.

"So right you are, my love. So right you are."
