With those reviews out of the way, it's time to start the chapter!
Going to Hage!
The next day, before his mission to Hage, Venta travelled on a mission with Sol.
It was supposed to be an easy mission.
But in the middle of it, they ended up getting bombarded by Mage's that were clearly not apart of any Magic Knights.
Their magical power felt like it was being augmented.
"Sol-chan, seems that we've got a bit of a mess here huh."
Venta, with Nero perched on top of his head, called across the battlefield as he, and Sol looked at the dangers ahead of them. Surrounded on different sides, it was becoming more clearer that the enemies were going to launch strong attacks.
The young woman's eyes go towards Venta, as she tilts her head.
"No kidding, I didn't expect this many on an easy mission like this."
"Then we should finish it off quickly before anything bad happens."
Sol shrugged as she jumped back, and saw a water Mage shoot some water bullets for her, so she uses her Earth Magic to create a solid form of the shield, the water slammed hard into the side of the earth shield, while Venta jumped closer, and swung his hand out, causing the earth to be carved up with his Gravity Magic.
"What are you doing?"
Sol asks, with Venta applying his gravity to the pieces of cut up earth, then flicks his hands forward, sending the large amount of rocks towards the water Mage, hitting him and a few others that tried to support him.
"Using my Magic to augment yours."
Sol waves a hand through her hair as she sees a few more Mages coming up.
"Well, it would be best if we do combine our Magic together this time."
"Great, then lets get to it."
"Earth Creation Magic, Rampaging Mother Earth!"
Venta watches as Sol uses her Earth Magic, creating a golem before her.
Venta gets beside her, and then places his hand on the golem.
"Gravity Creation Magic, Gravity Gauntlets!"
Forming around the hands of the golem, purple energy that swished around and formed scary looking gauntlets, Sol directed her hand forward, and announced "Kick their asses!" and proceeding to do that, the giant golem swings a fist down, as three Mages came up, and created a barrier.
With the combination of the twos Magic, the strength of the earth, and the added destructive power of the gravity, the powers combined in a way where the barriers that the Mage's formed wasn't able to stay strong for long, and they ended up receiving major wounds thanks to the combined powers of their attacks.
Then the golem received a blast of fire from the right hand side. The flames were strong, and beautiful, managing to break through the golem's body,
As it did, Venta's eyes shifted to see a flash of pink moving around a corner.
"My golem!"
As Sol yells that out, Venta snaps his fingers, and creates a grid like purple gravity energy before him, and sent it out for the place the pink thing moved behind. But by the time the grid crushed through and cut up the area, the being had already disappeared.
"It's fine, lets keep going."
Venta replied to Sol who cocks her head.
"What was it?"
"An enemy that's already made a retreat. Most likely with Spatial Magic."
He responded, so Sol turned towards her golem, seeing the giant hole in the side of it.
"But with the hole...damn it, I'll have to fix it."
"Allow me."
Venta clicked his fingers, and caused gravity around the hole in the golem to begin sucking in the surrounding earth. Filling the hole with the earth, he flattened it, so it was perfectly fixed, something Sol had to praise.
"Not bad."
"Thanks Sol-chan~"
Sol huffs as she calls the golem once more, and sends it after some more Mages, the remaining Mage's tried to fire off their Magic attacks, but they couldn't get through and their bodies ended up receiving devastating wounds, but nothing life threatening.
Once that was finished, Venta stretches his arms up while Sol restrains them with her magic.
"This feels kinda odd, you know?"
Sol begins, Venta nodding.
"They didn't feel as strong as the guy with Plant Magic, but it felt like they were also powered up."
"That plant guy, he had some kind of magical boost, you're saying these did as well?"
"I believe so, based on their behaviour. The Wind guy didn't act like these, so I'd have to say that they're on the stronger...dose I guess of the power amplifier."
"So, that would mean the same group, right?" Venta nodded. "What do they want?"
"We're still working on that part. For now, I guess we'll take these into questioning as well."
"Well, it seems that we managed to beat them." Her eyes went towards Venta who waved. "We did it, I suppose."
Venta moved closer, and smiled, causing Sol to turn her reddening face away.
Venta cocked his head curiously at the young girl, but then shrugged.
Half a day later, Venta took off towards Hage on his own, or rather without any human companions. Nero rode atop of his head as he casually began flying towards Hage. Because of the relaxed way he was flying, he could take in the sights of the lands of the Clover Kingdom.
Seeing the different kinds of landmarks all the way around, the deep forests, Venta looked for the village of Hage. He knew that he'd be coming up to it eventually, so he thought it would be best if he went there first, so he then could question if anything had happened around the village.
"Our first stop is going to be Hage, then we'll go and deal with that dungeon real quick to see if there's anything going on there. After that, we'll go and see the First Wizard Kings statue, okay Nero?"
"Yes, that's fine with me."
Replying like that, Venta continued flying at a good pace.
Finally after a good while travelling, Venta saw the village he had been looking for.
It was a small village, and he could tell that it was rather poor.
More than that, from the distance he was at, he saw that damage had happened to the buildings, and they looked like recent damage and damage of a good time before his arrival.
He began flying down towards the village of Hage.
However, he stopped when he heard something, and felt it as well.
"Did you hear an explosion?"
Nero asked, Venta inclined his neck several times.
"Yeah, seems like something's going down..."
His eyes scanned the area, and searched for some strong Mana's…
When he came across a good few.
So, he shot off in that direction and flew fast.
As he did, he saw the explosions smashing through trees, and blowing them away.
One tree came for him, so he extended his hand, stopping it midair with his gravity, before lowering it to the ground.
"An intense form of Mana is in that direction Venta."
Nero spoke up, Venta agreed.
"Yes, but more than that...there's something else there..."
Venta continued flying forward.
Making it within a few moments, he saw a battle going on.
Between a young girl, and three Mages. Ones that wore robes similar to the ones that he fought not long ago with Sol.
The young girl looked to be around the age of fifteen. Her messy black hair went past her shoulders, but didn't go all the way down her back. Almost the length of Mimosa's hair, but slightly shorter. She was an average height, and had a body that nearly rivalled the likes of Vanessa.
Her amber eyes were narrowing as the Mages came close.
Venta also saw that two Mages had already been defeated, yet he couldn't see any grimoire with her at all, which he found to be really impressive considering the Mana he felt coming off of the people before her.
Before he made a move, he noticed something.
Hanging from her neck, a blue stone.
"Nero..."
"That stone...could it be?"
"We can ask questions later, for now she needs help."
Venta propelled himself through the air as the three Mages go for the young girl. One with Glass Magic caused glass shards to appear in the air, and shoot them for the young girl, as she places out her hand, and unleashed a strong wave of wind, knocking the projectiles away from her form.
As she did, another one with Steel Magic coated his arms in the steel, and rushed her to try and take her out, but she stopped him as she slammed her wind hard into the ground, causing it to be destabilized for a few moments.
"Wow, impressive. Even without a Grimoire, this girls kicking some ass."
As he thought it, another Mage that held Sand Magic raised a good deal of sand around himself, before shooting it back towards the young girl.
Due to the sheer size of it, the young girl wasn't able to escape, and she thought that she was going to be crushed…
When suddenly the sand got repelled right back towards the man. It seemed to increase in weight as well, as it was breaking the ground that it was lying on top of, the Sand Mage looked stunned as his sand buried him under it, crushing and knocking him unconscious.
"W-What the hell?!"
The Steel Mage called, as the Glass Mage looked around.
As they did, Venta came flying down, landing before the girl.
Venta's eyes went back towards her.
"Hey, are you alright?" She merely nodded in a semi stoic manner as Venta turned back to the Mages. "Attacking an innocent girl like this, I'll have to stop you."
Having no nonsense from them, his hand went out, and he caused the gravity before him to turn into spheres, that he sent out as the Glass Mage created sharp spears of glass within the air, launching them towards Venta at high speeds.
But as the spheres got in close, they stopped the movements of the glass, and caused them to be weighed down a good deal, and when slamming into the ground due to the increased weight, they shattered upon impact.
"No fear in his eyes, a smile on his face...this Magic Knight is fighting so calmly, yet he seems cautious at the same time. Who is he? And what's he doing all the way out here?"
The girl thought as the Glass Mage snapped.
"How dare you filth?!"
Venta simply stared at him, not reacting to the insult.
The Glass Mage couldn't accept that his taunt didn't get any reaction, and caused his Glass Magic to spring around him. Forming a sword in his hand of glass, he rushed Venta to try and slice the young man up.
But as he got close and took a swing, Venta bent his body back, avoiding the blade, before slamming his hand forward. Augmented with gravity, his fist smashed through the glass, and slammed hard into the man's body, blowing him off of his feet, and smashed him through several trees, receiving a good deal of wounds in the process.
"D-Don't underestimate us Magic Knight...no, you're a Black Bull! It would make sense that the loser squad would come to this backwater place! They couldn't even send anyone worthwhile?!"
"For someone boasting so much, I just defeated two of your Mages. You shouldn't boast when you don't have the advantage over an opponent."
The man's right hand shook, but that soon stopped as he grit his teeth.
"Screw you! Steel Restraining Magic, Steel Beams!"
Erupting out of the ground, steel came out to try and wrap around his body, almost forming a cage around his form.
Venta quickly jumped up into the air, as the Steel Mage came up to meet him, and thrusted his fist for the young man.
Venta tightened his hand, concentrating gravity around his fist. As he did, the more dense the area became. Even the girl from the distance she was at could feel that being near him was causing things to become incredibly and increasing heavy by the moment.
"Gravity Magic, Annihilation Fist!"
With the gravity focused in his hand, he swung it for the man's incoming fist. Meeting in the middle, the attacks clashed heavily, causing the area to be blown away with an intense shockwave, but the gravity carved through the steel, breaking it into several chunks and the pain transmitted through his body, and blew him away in a single thrust of his attack.
The man's body smashed deep into the ground, rendering him unconscious.
Shaking his head, Venta's eyes went towards the young girl, and the Magic Stone hanging from her neck.
"Are you okay?"
The girl began to nod, when she felt a sharp pain run through her leg.
Venta looked to see that there was a deep gash across the leg.
"You've been injured. Here, let me help you."
Venta tried to assist her, but she shook her head coldly.
"I don't have time, I have to go and find Asta."
"Asta?"
Venta echoed, wondering who that was.
The girl tried to move, but she grimaced as the pain surged through her.
"...She's someone that's been kidnapped...a friend. These Mages…."
"Kidnapped...right, then come with me and tell me what you know so I can help you."
Venta moved closer, and offered his hand.
Venta's hand stayed out towards her, and slowly, she reached out, and took it.
When she did, Venta pulled her closer, and allowed his Magic to run down her.
"Healing isn't my forte, but it's something that should be enough for a wound like this." His eyes looked towards the girls, seeing her being rather cautious. "My name is Venta, I'm a member of the Black Bulls. What's your name?"
"...Yuno, I'm from Hage village."
Venta overlooked the girl, seeing the power that she had inside of her.
More so, the stone that she had around her neck, intrigued Venta quite a good bit.
"I see, then please tell me everything that's going on, as quickly as possible."
Because time was running down, he truly didn't know how long he'd have before this girl could potentially be killed, so the girl, Yuno began to explain as much as possible as Venta bound the Mage's he had beaten so they couldn't cause more trouble.
Sometime later, Venta managed to heal the girls leg, as he heard that they were doing some chores for the Church they lived in, and found out that they discovered an entrance to a dungeon.
"...So, it seems that they targeted you, but this girl, Asta-san got in the way and they took her."
"...Asta saved me, and I tried to save her, but I couldn't chase after her, thanks to those Mages."
Venta could see pain and regret on her face.
He could understand that quite well.
"This Asta-san seemed to wish to protect you, that's rather a kind thing to do. Even if she got captured, she managed to help you long enough so I could come here and assist you."
"Even then...damn, even though I wish to become Wizard Queen, I wasn't able to do anything for my friend..."
"Wizard Queen huh, well with the Mana I'm sensing from you… Even then, I have to go and see what I can find out. I'll need you to return to the village and wait for me there."
Yuno rejected it immediately, shaking her head side to side quickly.
"No, I can't leave. I have to save Asta-"
"Usually, I'd be all for back up. But right now these Mage's...I'm not sure of their battle capabilities, and I'm not sure if they'd try and harm you to get to this girl Asta-san or try to use you as a hostage for me either. It's bad enough that Asta-san is a hostage, if they got you as well, then it would be dangerous. You don't have to put yourself in danger anymore."
Yuno didn't want to accept it.
"Though you say that...this is my friend...I can't simply leave right now. I appreciate the help...but, I have to do something. I can't...I can't stand by and do nothing as Asta once again gets hurt...because of me."
Venta could see how hard it was for her.
Moving closer, his hand placed itself on her shoulder.
"I know you're angry at the situation. It's perfectly understandable. I promise, I'll do everything I can to save your friend. So, go back to the village, and tell them that healers should gather in case. In Hage, you do have a healer or two, yes?"
As Venta said it, he was mapping out the area with his Mana Sensing to see what was around and who he could be fighting potentially. He didn't sense much on the surface for a good distance, he sensed the power in the village, and knew it wouldn't be all that troubling.
"...Sister Lily knows healing magic, do you think Asta will be hurt?"
"Best case scenario is that they're holding her and gonna use her as bait for you. But I kinda just threw a wrench into their plans, so they might be more drastic. So I'll have to go, so remember to head back to the village."
Venta turned, and began running away.
As he did, he glanced back towards her, seeing that she hadn't moved.
A small smile appeared on his face.
"She's totally going to follow me. She's got that look about her, doing anything they can for a friend." Venta thought and as he moved out of hearing distance of Yuno, his eyes went towards Nero. "Nero, could you do me a favour and stay with that girl for me."
"Naturally. Though I don't currently have offensive capabilities."
Venta placed his hand on Nero, and began drawing across her feathers.
"There, I just set up a trap spell in case you're attacked. Ideally, I'd want her to go home...but I get it, someone she knows is in danger, and I can't hang back either...and bringing her with me might be too dangerous. At least in the beginning, if they know a Magic Knights here, then they could set up some traps that could cause her harm."
"So you're going to finish them off before she arrives?"
"That's the plan. I'm just being cautious in case some are hiding and plan to attack her while I'm away."
"I understand, it would be best if she didn't become involved."
"Exactly, so I'm going to go ahead, and hopefully finish this before problems arise."
Nero nods, and takes off towards Yuko once more.
Venta smiles, and continues towards the dungeon, pushing more of his power through his body and broke the ground as he jetted himself off into the sky.
Yuno watched the boy shoot like a star through the air, wondering more and more about what was going on.
Meanwhile, back with the Black Bulls, Nebra graciously walked into it. She didn't have any worries as she crossed through the archway and went inside. As soon as she did, her eyes caught the sight of Gordon, who raised his hand towards her, and waved.
She looked troubled, and turned her eyes away.
"Black Bulls, where is my black and white haired...no, not mine...just tell me where he is?"
She called out.
But didn't get a response.
She didn't see anyone other than Gordon.
That was because Vanessa was able to duck behind the couch before she saw her and hide her Mana as much as possible.
Her eyes shifted to Gordon who looked back at her curiously.
"You, where is he?"
"My friend is gone, everyone is gone."
Nebra scrunched her eyebrows together.
"Again with the mumbling...wait, are you trying to Curse me?"
Gordon tilted his head, Nebra became a little more worried as Gordon's eyes felt creepy to her.
"No..."
"What did you say? Speak louder!"
Gordon looked troubled as Nebra tilted her head.
Just then, the door opened, and revealed Yami stepping through.
"Oh it's you again, why are you bothering Gordon?"
"I'm the one that is being bothered! He is mumbling at me, and he's potentially cursing people! Now about my...the Black Bull with black and white hair...just tell me where he is!"
Yami smirked at her.
"He's away."
"Where?"
"He's just away."
Nebra shook her head slowly.
"That's fine, as I would like to ask if you're willing to give my Black Bull...the Black Bull I find interesting to the Silver Eagles."
Yami growled, as an aura appeared around his form.
"What?"
Nebra looked on, feeling worry come over her, before she stepped forward.
"I...thought it would be a good idea if he did, there's much Venta-kun could accomplish at my Squad." Yami furrows his brows, Nebra coughs. "Okay, it seems you don't want to talk right now." Nebra fixed her stare. "I will be back to discuss this when Venta-kun is back." Yami placed his hand on the table near her, Nebra stares hard. "T-Then...I'm going. Good day."
Nebra walked by Yami.
But then turns to Gordon who creepily waved at her.
"You need to stop cursing people."
Gordon blinks as Nebra hurried out of the Black Bulls base.
Yami adopted a slight smirk on his face, as Vanessa furrows her brows.
"Seems like Venta's got a lot of stuff on his hands huh."
"Poor Ven-kun..."
"I think she's nice...I think we've become good friends."
Both Yami and Vanessa turn towards Gordon questioningly.
Yami caught what he said, and wondered when he and Nebra became friends.
Having arrived at the dungeon, Venta headed in towards the dungeons opening.
Going inside, he could sense magic traps everywhere. Places that Venta could see was simply a cave. It didn't look elaborate, yet it was filled to the brim with magical energies, which had been made into devastating traps.
As he went to go inside, he saw one Mage hidden behind a wall near the entrance, and turned towards him.
"So they even sent a Magic Knight to this wretched place? How pathetic."
Venta rolled his eyes.
"Sorry, got no time for you right now."
The man's eyebrows twitched as he revealed his Grimoire.
But before he could cast a spell, Venta rocketed off towards him, getting within his guard, and slammed his elbow on the right hand side of the man's upper body, the force alone was more than enough to sent him flying, smashing into a wall, and render him unconscious.
"That Mage probably was here to tell the others that someone had come and found them. No avoiding it, they know I'm here, so it's best to go quickly...though that girl seems to be following as well, so I'll disable the traps."
Currently aware that it could be dangerous, yet he had little time, Venta charged through the area. He also made sure to set off the traps in case they were going to be used against him at a later date. He usually would be careful and disarm them, but for this occasion, he didn't have the luxury of doing so and most likely, they probably knew he already was there anyway.
One trap sprung and caused a wall beside him to began erupting in a pillar of fire.
"Flames huh….Gravity Magic, Vortex!"
Raising his hand, Venta created a swirling vortex and launched it towards the flames, the swirling vortex caused the flames to be gravitated towards that, protecting him from harm.
Bypassing that, Venta continued on, standing on a trap and caused his magic to run through it as it activated.
"Gravity Magic, Crushing Force!"
Several sharp spires of earth came erupting out, but Venta's Magic caught them in mid travel for his body and suppressed them enough for them to shatter under the pressure Venta's magic was giving it.
Continuing on, Venta rushed through the dark chamber before him. Each trap he managed to disable with his Magic, though he was surprised by the lengths the enemies were willing to go with the amount of stuff he had to deal with.
As he made it further and further into the area, he could feel the Mana's getting stronger, Venta furrowed his brows.
"The Mana just shot up a good bit...it seems that even here, those Dark Magic Tools have been implemented. Well, as the Captain says, surpass your limits."
Flipping through the air, Venta came to a dead end.
A wall blocked his path, but he sensed Mana on the other side so he knew this was the place he needed to be, so he coated his fist in gravity which swirled around his hand.
"Gravity Magic, Annihilation Fist!"
Swinging the fist forward, he released a burst of gravity in front of himself.
Within moments, the giant wall crumbled down, revealing a nicely lit cavern.
Fires lit the area, attached to the wall like candles. The inside of the area looked as if it had been stripped clean of whatever could have been within the area, and laid inside, were five Mage's.
Wearing outfits similar to the ones that he had dealt with Sol, and he suspected the same people that had powered up the other two people he fought, he felt the Mana of the Mage's, and could tell like the Plant Magic user, these had also had their powers increased.
But unlike him, Venta already felt a good deal of power from them beforehand and now they had powers that were quite high compared to what he felt beforehand.
He also saw a slim short girl with grayish coloured hair, with bangs in front of her forehead and a single strand protruding upwards from the center of her head, and had a cute face. Though she was short, she had a developed figure.
He saw that she had some injuries on her body, causing Venta to stroll forward.
"So, here we are."
Venta began with the main Mage stepping forward.
"A Magic Knight coming all the way here, I'm really shocked. This is the lowest of the lowest class, yet you've come here, why?"
"That isn't your concern. Hand over the girl."
Despite saying that, the man nor his allies made an attempt to move.
So Venta pulled forward, allowing his Mana to erupt all around him. The area began to shake as a result of the Mana being released, even the Mage's seemed surprised to see that the Mana alone was doing that, though it was thanks to the gravity powers that Venta had under his command.
"One last time, hand over the girl."
The Mage's pulled back, with one going towards the girl Asta, and placed a knife towards her body.
"Move one more inch, and she dies."
Upon hearing that, Venta stared on and thought about the best way to handle this situation.
In another part of the dungeon, Yuno arrived with Nero flying close by. The girl stepped inside, seeing the carnage that already had been caused by Venta. She even saw the man that he had taken out when first coming into the dungeon.
"That Magic Knight, he's ahead of me. I best go before something happens. Even someone from the Magic Knights will need some back up."
Justifying it in her head like that, though it was partly the reason she decided to go, she was worried for her friend. Usually, she didn't show it as she was a stoic girl, but in this case, she couldn't hide her worries, as she didn't want anything to happen to her friend at all.
She moved forward, looking around at the area, as Nero also flew in behind her.
"Seems like Venta has done his job. But I also sense far ahead, he's going up against some strong powers. Combined together...it could be some troubling situations. But, he asked me to do this so I'll stay with this girl. Besides, he isn't stupid so he'll think of a way to get out of the situation, I'm sure of it."
Nero was sure of it.
She was dedicated to doing as he asked, while also knowing that he was strong, and smart. Even if he was outnumbered, he wouldn't go down without a fight, and he would use his powers in unique ways for him to get out of a dangerous situation.
She followed the young girl as she made her way through the area.
Going across some of the debris that was left behind, she used her Wind Magic to blow away some rubble that blocked her way.
But then she stopped as she saw that the cave was beginning to shake side to side.
"W-What the…?"
Seeing the cave shaking, she saw that the ceiling and the ground were shaking quite heavily, yet at the same time it was clear that nothing was breaking at all.
Nero also felt the intense shaking, wondering what kind of battle Venta was going to be going into next.
Yuno balanced herself, as she saw the shaking continuing.
"Something's going on...Asta, damn it..."
Cursing quietly, the young girl shot off as fast as she could towards the location of Venta and the others.
Back with Venta, he looked between the five Mage's. The one that held the knife to the girls body was something he knew he'd have to deal with before anything could happen. He ran through the spells in his head, remembering if there was anything that could help him out in a situation like this.
"You could always just combine my power with your own, it would be able to give you a good deal of power increase. It wouldn't be so bad, right? Then we can tear them apart~ Though humans in general I don't have much problems with, these bastards need to be taught a lesson. Lets finish them off."
Venta thought about that option from the Devil inside of him.
He didn't want to reveal something like that unless it was necessary.
Not because he cared what people thought about him being Devil possessed, but because he liked having some trump cards up his sleeve in case he did ever go into a tight situation like this, and because it was a tight situation, Venta did think about using it.
As he did, the leader Mage stepped forward.
"So, what's your Magic?"
"Like I'm going to tell you anything."
Venta retorted as his the man's hand lit up with his Magic. From what Venta could see, it was a lightning based magic, his other comrades also began showing their Magic. One had ice magic, one had wings on her back, one had an elongated tongue, and the final one holding the knife to the girl seemed to have ice magic as well based on some ice growing across his skin.
Looking between them, Venta's hands twitched as he began allowing Gravity to swirl around his hands.
The Mage's pulled back, and the one with the knife went towards Asta, when Venta slammed his hands onto the floor.
"Gravity Magic, Sinking Floor!"
Sending out a shockwave from his Gravity Magic, originating from his body, the entire floor of the area they were in sunk a few feet. Those few feet and how fast it happened caused all of the Mage's to be brought off of their feet, falling onto their hands and knees, as Venta raised his index finger, and shot a sphere of gravity forward.
Hitting the knife, the intense gravity caused it to shatter upon impact, and the small shockwave of the blast erupted enough to send the potential attack of Asta's to the ground.
As that happened, Asta's eyes briefly went open. Pain came through her, and she felt unable to move, but saw Venta and his Black Bull cape fluttering within the wind, along with the Magic swimming around his body, and stars appeared in her eyes.
But soon she had to close her eyes and felt uneasy inside.
"What the hell is this?!"
The one with wings managed to fly into the air, but Venta appeared before them, and slammed a hand into their torso, sending them deep into the earth.
As he did, one of the ice Mage's turned their hands to Venta, causing claws of ice to appear on both sides of Venta trying to slice him apart.
"Die with my ice!"
"Yeah right."
His hand opened, releasing a force of gravity to repel his targets back, the claws of ice flew across the area, shattering against the walls, as Venta blasted the man with a concussive force of Gravity towards the ice Mage.
The ice Mage responded with a shield of ice to defend himself, but the ice shattered as his body also went flying through the air.
As it did, the leader Mage concentrated his lightning, creating a massive arrow in the air.
"Lightning Creation Magic, Thundershoot!"
Firing it, it moved deceptively fast for something so big. Even Venta was surprised as he moved his body out of the way.
However, while dodging, the wing user flew at high speeds, getting in close towards him, and brought out the feathers, attempting to shoot them towards him at close range.
Jumping up, Venta avoided the attack, swiftly brought up his leg, and then swung it down towards her, to knock her out.
"Haaaah!"
But as he did, the lightning Mage user crossed the distance, and caused his power to form within his hand.
Venta didn't have time to raise a shield to block the attack, so he crossed his arm and allowed gravity to swirl to increase the weight around the area the man was attacking, diverting the power away from Venta as much as possible.
The attack came in and as Venta hoped for, the man's lightning was diverted down, but caught some of his leg, so he winced as a deep gash appeared across his leg, but didn't stop in his movements, and pushed forward.
"Gravity Magic, Repelling Force!"
Shooting out a shockwave of gravity from his hand, the lightning user was slammed hard. But the wing user caused her feathers to scatter, catching the man before he was to be slammed into the back wall.
At the same time, Venta saw one of the two ice Mage's make their way to Asta once more, so he cupped his hands together, and formed a gravity sword, several of them in fact, tossing them at high speeds and created a shield before her, blocking his path.
"You shit!"
The ice Mage yelled, as he fired off some of his ice.
But the shield made from swords caused the ice to fall down to the ground as soon as they touched it, and shatter out of existence from the heavy impact given.
"Nice try."
Venta heard a man say, the second ice user appeared behind him, and placed his hand out, an eerie mist appearing, and sharp shards of ice began to appear, only for Venta to fly up into the air as they were shot towards him.
Dodging them, the lightning Mage, and the wing Mage also turned their attacks up, releasing hailstorms of attacks towards him.
"You can't dodge all three of us together. We've got the best kind of combination attacks."
Proudly boasting that, Venta did his best to dodge the attacks while thinking of some countermeasures.
As he attempted to dodge them all, Yuno finally showed up, with Nero behind her. Yuko's eyes turned towards Asta who was peacefully sleeping, seeing the gravity swords in the way of the ice Mages attempts to get in close, and then saw the way that Venta was fighting three Mage's.
"Have this!"
The last one with the tongue tried to wrap his tongue around Venta, only for Venta to use his Gravity to lift a large rock in the way as the tongue wrapped around it, and dragged the tongue down, pinning him to the earth as Venta turned the rock super heavy, and made it land on part of the tongue so it was stuck.
"He really is strong, being able to keep up with all three of them at once. More than that, even I can tell from here that they're stronger than the time that we saw them back in the forest."
She was impressed to say the least.
Keeping someone safe, along with fighting off three strong Mage's, and having incapacitated a fourth one.
Nero looked on to see Venta dodging three kind of magic at the same time. But even she knew it would be hard due to the power behind them.
"Individually, it wouldn't be such a problem, but with them together, usually it would be okay...but he's keeping up that spell around the unconscious girl, splitting such focus like that, and because she is unconscious along with all of the other things Venta's done today with that girl Sol, and then the traps disabling along with flying here, he can't safely release some of his strongest spells here...no, even if the odds are against him, Venta's not an idiot, he'll have something planned..."
While dodging, some lightning cut into his left arm, Venta winced.
"Even with Mana Skin, your spell cut me, you are a good deal strong. But, I'm not out of tricks yet."
Venta placed his hand out, releasing a shockwave that shattered the ice's attacks, as he moved out of the way of the lightning. Because of the speed of the lightning, he had to increase his own speed with his gravity magic.
But as he did that, feathers came all around his face, obscuring his vision.
"This is it, lets kill him!"
The girl yelled, so the lightning user created a massive arrow of lightning once more, aiming it up towards Venta's body.
"Damn it..."
Venta tried blasting all of the feathers away, but as he did the first batch, another appeared around his head, and stopped him from seeing and even hearing with how loud they were moving, something Venta thought for sure was a distraction for the main attack.
With the feathers in the way, Venta closed his eyes and concentrated.
As he did, Yuno looked worried, and went to move, when the bird flew in front of her face, stopping her.
"What are you doing?"
Yuno asked, but the bird shook her head and pointed back.
Yuno grit her teeth, as she watched on.
At the same time, Asta came around once more, determined to not fall unconscious.
But it was difficult.
With the wounds on her, she couldn't keep a clear mind.
She saw Venta in the air, with the heavy lightning arrow shoot up from the ground. The pressure of the attack even caused the ground around him to dent a good deal, and came at Venta who was distracted with the feathers.
"Wow...he looks cool, and he's trying to help me...who is he...?"
She thought, though keeping her eyes open was quite difficult, and she felt herself fading back to unconsciousness.
Venta concentrated, sensing out the Mana around him.
Knowing that if the attack landed, then it could spell trouble.
Fortunately, he could feel the Mana clearly, and he remained calm in the face of danger, so he placed his hand out towards the area that the lightning arrow was coming in from.
"Gravity Creation Magic, Repelling Shield!"
Venta's Magic created a purple shield in front of him, as the lightning came at him.
"Shit! My attack!"
Hitting it square on, the lightning repelled the attack away from him, and right back towards the user. As it did, he increased the gravity around it, augmenting its destructive power, with the lightning Mage jumping out of the way, but the wing user couldn't and received the heavy burst of lightning, taking her out of the fight, and causing a good deal of injuries to appear around her.
Even one of the ice users was caught up in the attack. The lightning spread all around him, as he tried to defend with the ice, but it shattered completely, and received a good deal of lightning shooting through his system, knocking him unconscious.
Asta's mouth became agape at the sight, and thought "How cool!" before the pain reminded her of the situation she was in and she couldn't move as a result, the pain surging through her to the point that she felt like passing out once more.
Even Yuno, who was watching on, was impressed by how he was able to repel such an attack while being attacked around his vision.
With the wing user defeated, Venta saw the feathers disappear around his eyes.
He released a small breath.
"Seems like the tongue guys also recovered...and I don't know what he can do with that. But it's best to deal with these guys quickly, and check on the girl..." As he thought it, he felt Yuno in the room, and saw Nero. Without verbally saying anything, he wrote a message in the ground via his gravity magic while distracting the others. "So, that's all you've got, is it?"
Baiting and taunting them, Venta knew it would distract them from the real goal.
"What did you say?"
"Five against me, and you can't win? I guess the power up you received didn't do you any good."
Baiting him as much as possible, Venta's words caused anger within the lightning user.
"You are a cheeky brat! You got lucky, that's all!"
As he spoke, Nero noticed the message and lightly tapped Yuno's face.
Guiding her eyes down, she saw the message saying [Get Asta-san, I'll make sure they don't attack you.] Yuno thought it was a good idea, so she began sneaking around while Venta kept their attention straight on him.
"Lucky perhaps, but you've been using this place as a base, why is that?"
"Because I want to, that's all."
The lightning Mage replied but Venta couldn't accept it easily.
"You chose Hage, this dungeon in particular. What was here?"
"Nothing concerning you!"
The man fired off his lightning as Venta saw Yuno continuing to go around the Mage's, so he kept their eyes on him.
Flying down, Venta avoided all of the shots of lightning, but then saw his opponent appear before him. Lightning in hand, Venta bent his body to avoid the attack, and slam his knee into the man's body, pushing him back a good deal.
But as he did, the tongue user shot forward their slimy tongue, wrapped it around Venta's wrist, and dragged it down.
"Now!"
Venta tried to move his wrist, but the tongue seemed to cause some paralysing effect as he couldn't feel his wrist. Seeing the man with lightning charge another arrow, Venta growled.
"Tongue Magic, I have to admit that it certainly is an odd feeling to have wrapped around you."
"His Magic will be the end of you, as my Magic stops you in your tracks!"
The tongue user yelled at Venta who glanced in his direction.
Just then, he saw the final ice Mage turn his hands for Yuno, having seen her and created spires of ice in the air.
It seemed like he was trying to make sure that she would be in danger, so Venta wouldn't be able to do anything about the attack or she'd be killed.
Not allowing that, Venta used his free hand to create a swirling vortex, and tossed it between the two Mage's.
As the spires of ice were formed, the suction ability of the vortex caused the ice to move involuntarily towards it. Even the ice Mage couldn't do a thing about it as they shot towards it at a high speed, but Venta dropped the vortex as it did, and the spires kept going towards the lightning user.
"What are you doing fool?!"
Using his lightning to blast away the attack, Yuno took this chance to go for Asta.
The ice user growled at Yuno's appearance, Venta placed his hand out to blast him down, when Yuno's hands erupted with wind. Even without a Grimoire, the winds created a ball around her, which slammed into the ice user, sending him flying backwards.
"Wow...impressive."
Venta admitted aloud, as he shot off his gravity for the ice user in the shape of a sphere, slamming into him, and deep into the earth, rendering him unable to fight.
As he did, the wing magic user used the last of her strength to aim some feathers towards Yuno to take her down.
Because of that, Venta went to move, when Nero got between them.
Nodding to himself, he allowed Nero to take the attack head on.
As it did, the spell Venta placed on Nero activated, and reflected the attack of the wings right back towards her, piercing the woman's body and took her out of the fight.
The lightning user was stunned to say the least.
"T-This isn't possible! You couldn't be winning! We have five of us! We got our powers boosted by that crazy scientist! Are you why she was so ready to give us such a powerful boost?!"
Venta panted as he moved closer, but the tongue around his wrist stopped him from moving too far.
"As my Captain says, surpass your limits. I'll admit that you all together are pretty strong, but you also don't underestimate your opponent."
The man's eyes fell into despair, his lightning surged all around him and shot off for Venta's body.
Tightening his hand, creating a gauntlet of gravity around his arm, he punched forward, and caused the lightning to become light weight which sent the attack flying up into the air as a result, crashing against the ceiling.
"Now it's time for you to get off me."
Venta turned to the tongue user, as he tightened his hand and pulled the tongue user off of the ground. With physical strength alone, Venta was able to bring the tongue user to his side, and slam a fist into his body, with enough force that the punch caused a good deal of injuries and went smashing across the earth, rendering him unconscious.
With another taken out, the lightning user was all that was left.
As Venta took the last ones out, bar the lightning user, Yuno managed to grab Asta, and hold her close.
Yuno, having observed everything that went on, couldn't believe yet at the same time was happy to see such a battle going on.
The lightning user looked at Venta, as he charged up his lightning.
"You think this is it?! You think this is going to be the end of me?!"
"I think now it is one on one, I'll concentrate all my power onto you. But if you're so willing to talk, tell me about the scientist that helped you, it seems that it might be connected to me."
The man took a step back, and growled.
"We came here of our own accord!"
"Perhaps, but she asked you to get something or do something in exchange for that power, didn't she? What was it she wanted? Something I have perhaps? My Magic?"
"As if I'll tell you!"
"Fine, you can tell me when you're in prison."
The lightning user weighed up his options, and then looked towards Venta.
Growling and gritting his teeth, his Magic began to surge around him rapidly.
Venta scowled as he also injected himself with a strange liquid.
As he did, his Mana shot up into even higher levels, and the lightning became more rapid and powerful.
Venta knew he wouldn't be able to get him, and the others out in time, and he couldn't stop the spell either.
"What's he doing?"
Yuno asked, Venta got before them, as Asta's eyes went towards him, having woken up.
"It's a self destruct spell, he intends to take us out with himself."
"Damn...what can we do?"
Yuno asked.
Venta placed his hands together, and borrowed magic from the area around them via Mana Zone.
"There's no way to outrun it, since it's going to detonate right now...but, I might be able to contain it. The boost in power he had...it seems that it's a last resort, and has given him a good deal of power for this last spell..." Venta exhaled slowly, as he channeled the magic around the lightning user, seeing his power sweeping up his comrades, killing them. "Mana Zone, Gravity Magic, Crushing Cocoon!"
Concentrating on the Mana in the area and his Magic, he created a purple sphere as the lightning burst forward. Trying to use his magic to stop the attack, he felt the intense lightning pushing against his dome, and because he had increased his power before the death he was fighting back even more than he thought he'd be fighting back.
Feeling his Mana reserves draining, he went to activate his Devil mode, when he saw some lightning break through and head for the two girls.
Before it could get close, Venta got before them and took the attack to his torso, causing a good sized wound that bled.
"Damn it..."
Both Yuno and Asta were shocked to see a Magic Knight do that for them.
Venta gritted his teeth as he compressed the lightning down, and neutralized it with his Magic as much as possible.
Eventually, Venta managed to overcome it, but exhausted a good deal of power, he collapsed to his knees, as Nero flew to his face. Her concerned eyes went towards his own, who offered a small smile in return.
"...Avoided worse case scenario at least...still, killing themselves, the scientist girl's previous ones didn't do this..."
As he said it, he placed a hand to his stomach, and saw the blood coming out of his wound.
Yuno bent down.
"Are you okay? No...that was a stupid question."
"It's sweet anyway and I am fine, I'll just need to get healed."
"Then...you should come to the Church, Sister Lily will be able to heal you."
"That's kind of you, thanks Yuno-san."
As he said that, Venta chanted a spell, which caused a sphere of gravity to appear around the wound.
While not stopping its bleeding completely, it stemmed it a good bit by manipulating the gravity around it, it was the best he could do as he was drained of Mana.
"Okay...lets go."
Venta stood up, and shook side to side as he, and the others began leaving the dungeon together.
"So Mana Zone as well as Mana Skin, being able to fight those five guys off so well, and even when handicapped by that girl being in danger...interesting, interesting..."
Sally, who had managed to recover some data from the fight that had just happened, studied it very well, and wrote down some notes about what had happened, and what she got out of it.
Enjoying what she was seeing, she hummed as she thought about what happened.
"But geez, he killed himself and the others as well, I never said to do that. He could have been caught and thrown in jail, it isn't like the secrets would have gotten out, he didn't even know much about me either...maybe he was that dedicated to the Eye of the Midnight Sun, or he hated Venta-kun for beating him that much that he wanted to take him out with him...whatever the reason, he and the others are dead..."
The young scientist looked on for a few moments, thinking deeply about the situation, but then stopped and shook her head side to side, as she continued putting the data together for her to observe even more.
But then she stopped and giddily jumped up and down.
"Aah, Gravity Magic's really awesome! I wanna know even more! So unique and used quite well, some of those spells, simply outstanding to see how he messes with gravity~ Aah, I wish I could get a good look at the Grimoire he has, even I can't tell what's up with that. But...I've got precious data already, so that's enough for a little while...still Venta-kun, keep giving me more valuable data, okay? I want to study...everything about you~"
Sally shakes her body while a young pink haired woman observes from a distance.
Flames flicker by her hand as she stares at a picture of Venta that Sally seemingly had attached to her wall.
What her true intentions where, only she knew currently.
Waiting for Asta to wake up who was laid down on a bed, Venta sat within a Church, and was being healed by a kind nun. Her name was Lily, he heard a few people call her Sister Lily which made sense with the outfit that she was wearing. She was rather beautiful, Venta could see her innocent eyes filled with worry over what she saw before her.
The kind nun continued healing his wounds, as he offered his own Magic to heal some of them as well.
"Thank you very much Sister, you're kind."
Lily waved her hand side to side.
"No, you saved both Asta and Yuno, we should be thanking you."
Venta chuckled.
"All apart of the job."
"Even then, Yuno told me what happened, how you protected both of them from being critically injured. It really is a wonderful sight to behold that a Magic Knight such as yourself does exist, and would save those that would be called commoners."
"It doesn't matter to me where someone comes from or what their status in society is, every person that needs saving, I'll do just that to the best of my ability."
Lily was quite surprised to hear a Magic Knight say that.
But it also made her happy at the same time.
Even Yuno who was listening in, heard what he said, and because he sounded so kind as he said and genuine as well, it made her want to believe that a Magic Knight could be strong and kind at the same time, and didn't have to sacrifice either to be the other.
As Asta woke up, her eyes went over the area.
She saw Yuno, Lily, and the other orphans around her.
Then she saw Venta.
Her eyes lit up with stars, remembering all of the stuff he did within the dungeon, and then saw how he seemed to sparkle.
At least in her eyes he did.
She stood up, her keen green eyes going towards his own.
"Asta, you're awake!"
Lily called out in relief.
"Yes Sister, I'm all fine thanks!"
Asta nodded, and walked towards Venta.
She grabbed some flowers from a vase nearby, and got down on one knee.
Presenting them to Venta, her eyes still starry, called "PLEASE MARRY ME!" catching most off guard.
[WHAT?!]
Most yelled in disbelief.
Even Yuno nearly yelled, and had to restrain herself from doing such a thing.
"Excuse me?"
Venta asked, as Asta took his hand and held it tightly.
Lily's face turned red, while Yuno looked surprised.
Raising her head to meet his own, Asta's eyes went towards Venta's surprised one.
"PLEASE MAKE ME YOUR WIFE! AND EVEN SISTER LILY TOO!"
"A-Asta?!"
Lily cries out with embarrassment, but Asta continues.
"Sister Lily! It's okay, we'll both marry him!"
Lily's bottom lip trembles, while Venta was stunned.
He thought he'd be dealing with a dungeon...he never thought beyond his wildest dreams that he'd get a marriage proposal.

So this chapter Venta met both with Asta, and Yuno! Interacting with them, with the former asking Venta to even marry her! Meanwhile, Sol and Venta work quite well together, even if Sol seems to want to deny such things. Sally even seems to be quite satisfied, while Elf Fana's got some stuff on her mind, as has Nebra.
Female Luck seems to have split vote again, so I'll leave it for the final time. If Luck's a girl, then the ideas I had would Luck would be Venta's lover and have some funny and heartfelt moments as Luck a battle lover falls in love and tries to understand her feelings, if a boy Luck would be like a little brother to Venta which I could see them having a fun dynamic also.
Finally, with Charlotte, I've been getting a good few requesting her with Venta, and a good few with Yami. I could see it being either way, as I find Yami and Charlotte quite fun in the manga, and her with Venta, it would bring some fun moments of their own.
Some brought up some good points about her curse, which would make sense that she couldn't really fall for Venta due to when it activates and how old he'd be at the time, though reading about the curse, and having a heart stolen doesn't necessarily mean romantic love at that age at least, it could develop into romantic when they're older.
I've got some ideas on how it could be accomplished, and I'm open to suggestions about it as well if Charlotte would end up with Venta.
