The beautiful fight!

Standing at the familiar ruins that they had been coming too for a few weeks now, Venta stood to the side together with his trusted companion Nero, as he tutored Mimosa in the basic art of combat.

He lifted a rock up via his Gravity Magic, and placed it towards Mimosa's form who looked at it with intense eyes.

He knew that she had great healing Magic, he even saw that she had already developed a spell or two in the Healing Magic ways. So offensive Magic was going to be the next step for her.

He saw that she was determined, so he was going to help her the best way that he could do at that moment in time.

"I'm ready."

Mimosa said, so Venta nodded, and caused the rock to go for her, as she tried to follow it with both her eyes and Mana Sensing, so she could know when to dodge the attack, or block it with her plants, something Venta thought would be good for her to do since he knew she was good at sensing, and being able to do a good timed dodge, or block of an attack could save her from receiving injuries later on down the road.

While doing that, he was also helping out Noelle with her Magic.

With the young girl holding the wand within her hand, she listened to what Venta had to say, and now was the time to try and put it into good practice.

"Y-You sure I can do this?"

"You can, believe in your capabilities Noelle-san. You know what you have to do now, just keep it in mind and fire it at the target."

He knew that Noelle had the power within, he just needed her to believe in it herself.

So, she turned towards the wand, and held it before her.

Gathering water at the tip of the wand.

Her hand shook slightly, as Venta called out.

"Relax, don't tense up too much. Keep a calm mind. The wand will help you, just remember what to do next. I know you can do this Noelle-san."

Noelle looked back towards Venta, who nodded, so she took in a deep breath.

The water at the end of the wand formed a sphere, which Noelle shot out as she thought about what Venta had taught her, and how to control her Mana.

She thought for sure that it was going to go off course.

But to her astonishment, it didn't.

It stayed on track, and smashed into a target Venta had set up for her, destroying it with her incredible power.

Noelle stood there, shell shocked that she did it.

"I...I did it! I really did it! My Magic listened to me...!"

Mimosa gasped, but then clapped her hands cheerfully.

"Noelle! You really did it! I'm so proud of you!"

Noelle looked at the wand once more.

Disbelief came over her.

But the fact that Venta did this for her...

To be able to control her Mana to such a degree...

"I...I actually did it, it's not been that long either since you began teaching me...and yet, I did it..."

"Noelle-san, I might have taught you, but you listened and put it to practice so be proud of what you've achieved. I'm certainly proud of you Noelle-san, you've done a great job, and I have no doubt that with some more time, this will become easier for you. You've taken a good first step with this."

Noelle's face turned slightly red at the praise, and murmured "T-Thank you." but quickly turned her face, and added "A-As a royal..." but she didn't get very far when she noticed Venta smiling towards her, causing her to place her hands down and fiddle with her skirt in a slightly shy manner.

Mimosa ran over to Venta and hugged him tightly.

"Thank you! Noelle being able to do this, I knew she had it in her, but seeing it now...I'm so happy."

Noelle looked slightly embarrassed by her cousins words, while Venta kindly smiled.

"I'm glad that I can help." Venta's eyes went towards Noelle and he smiled gently at the young girl who felt her face turning even redder. "So, now that you can fire one, want to try firing off multiple at the same time at different targets?"

Noelle showed some confidence compared to before, something Venta was overjoyed to see.

"Yes, I'm ready."

Venta smiled, as he waved his hand, setting up several targets via his Gravity Magic moving things into place.

"Then lets continue."

"Yes!"

While he was doing that with Mimosa and Noelle, Venta felt the Mana of Kirsch appearing once more.

He had been following them for a good while now. Ever since Venta began training Mimosa, it seemed that Kirsch found his way to them. Though he never revealed himself, Venta was aware of his location when he did manage to follow them.

"Geez, this guy really doesn't like the idea of Mimosa-san and I being near one another huh."

Shaking his head, Venta continued training together with Mimosa and Noelle.

After the training, Mimosa and Noelle collapses on the ground, panting and sweat coming off of them.

Venta pulls closer, sitting down between them both, as he pulls out two bottles of water.

"Here, you both should drink. You've worked hard today."

Mimosa looks at the water, before taking it and drinking it down in a single gulp.

Venta was mildly surprised, but found it rather fun to see her do that.

Noelle also took it with a slight hesitation before gulping it down as well.

"S-So, now that I've begun mastering this, what's next?"

"We'll keep focusing on firing off these water spheres, once you can do it continuously, we'll move on to moving targets. Adjusting and moving your body as you fire off your magic will be a good step."

Noelle nodded slowly, as Mimosa noticed her cousins reddening face, even if she was trying to hide it by turning her face away.

"I-I see...then I am sure to do my best."

"Aah, I'm sure you will do great~"

Noelle looked back towards him, and she gently smiled for a brief few moments, before turning her neck back away from him.

Mimosa then pulled herself off of the ground, and stared into his eyes, so Venta chortled.

"You're getting better by the day Mimosa-san."

Mimosa smiled joyfully.

"T-Thanks to you..."

"I might have given you some tips, but if it wasn't for your hard work, you'd not come as far as you have now. Plus, it seems that your Grimoire is beginning to fill with some spells, I'm sure soon enough it will have a good number of spells that you can use in a variety of ways."

Being with Venta, Mimosa learned quite a bit.

More than she had thought possible.

Kirsch on the other hand could see how Mimosa was looking at Venta, and how his eyes were shining with annoyance.

So Kirsch went towards Venta, Noelle and Mimosa.

Pointing at the former, cherry blossoms scattered all around them as he declared boldly.

"Commoner, I've seen how you've been trying to engage my sister, and I cannot allow it to happen anymore!"

"Trying to engage your sister? She asked me to train her how to fight."

Kirsch's brows furrowed.

"You brought her to the common realm a little while ago, and you've been trying to date her and, and you've been doing all sorts of things that a commoner shouldn't be doing! So I declare that we should fight right now!"

Mimosa sighed at her brothers antics, as did Noelle who chose to stay out of it this time.

She couldn't believe Kirsch was being like this again all of a sudden.

"Big brother, could you give it a rest?"

Kirsch blinded.

"M-Mimosa? What's wrong? I'm only trying to..."

"No, Venta-san hasn't done anything wrong, I was the one that asked him to take time out to help me train, and he's also helping Noelle who's made great progress already from Venta-san. So, I don't see the problem."

"Of course it is a problem! He's a commoner, most likely! I mean, I can't tell if he's a commoner or not! But Mimosa, you don't need a commoners help! He's a Black Bull!"

"Even if he is, Venta-san's able to help me a lot, please respect that."

Kirsch didn't know what to say.

His eyes glanced at Venta who wasn't going to get involved in a siblings squabble.

Kirsch huffs, and turns away.

"We'll be fighting, one way or another."

Venta didn't even know what that meant.

If he was going to suddenly attack.

Or if he was going to try and have Venta fight him somehow.

He watched as Kirsch hurried away, leaving the trio alone.

"I wonder what that was about?"

Venta asked Mimosa, who shrugged.

"I don't know...but, I am so sorry, big brothers causing too much worries for you lately."

Venta adopted a smile, placing a hand on top of Mimosa's head.

Her cheeks began to turn red as she felt his hand, comfortingly patting her head.

"Don't worry about that for now, I'm sure that he'll eventually come around."

"I wish...though my brother is hard to change sometimes."

Venta could see the frustration on her face.

He understood that quite well, and he didn't wish for her to have to worry about that for the time being.

Noelle looked between the two, before stretching.

"Same time tomorrow?"

"Sure, I'll see you then Noelle-san~"

Noelle smiled, she was glad that someone was taking the time and effort to help her.

At first, she wondered what his angle was.

But, seeing his words, and teachings actually helping her, Noelle could say that she was glad that he was doing this for her, and with time, she might be able to become truly strong, something Venta already knew, as he could see Noelle was indeed strong already, now she just knew how to use such a power.

Finally, the time had come for him to be able to speak to the Wizard King. Venta was rather excited, as he'd be able to help Nero more, he believed the Wizard King at least would be able to point him in the right direction.

So he waited outside of a large fancily decorated door. His eyes scanned the door, merely passing the time.

"I wonder if he'd be able to offer any assistance."

Nero began, with Venta releasing a small chuckle.

"Perhaps, he is very knowledgeable in the ways of various forms of Magic. Even if he doesn't know much, I'm sure he'd be able to at least offer some kind of advice to us and help us on our way."

"Yes, hopefully."

While waiting for the Wizard King who was busy with someone else, Venta could feel who it was but chose to not comment on it for the moment, he simply laid back, and rested his head against the wall near the door.

However, that soon came to an end when the door opened, and revealed Kirsch. His eyes looked towards Venta, and the young man saw that he looked rather annoyed. Kirsch simply stared at him for a few moments, Venta raised an eyebrow when Kirsch didn't make a move, or didn't even say anything at all, like an insult that he usually got.

"What?"

Venta asked, Kirsch huffed.

"Remember that we will be fighting soon enough!"

Venta gave him an incredulous look.

"Why do you want to fight me? I'm only spending time with your sister, and helping her, and her cousin reach their potential, and beyond."

"Because she is my sister, and her beauty should not be tarnished by a Black Bull."

Kirsch exclaimed, Venta exhaled slowly.

"That's great, though I don't see the problem with Mimosa-san and I being friends."

"T-The problem is that you're a commoner! Potentially! Mimosa cannot date a commoner! It would simply not be beautiful!"

"Well, beautiful or not, it would be her choice who she dates."

Replying in a cool manner, Kirsch tightened his hand, and then pointed aggressively towards Venta.

"We will be fighting!"

Venta rolled his eyes, and watched as Kirsch took off.

As soon as he did, Venta heard "You may come in now Venta-kun." so he did just that and followed the noise to the room.

Coming into the room, Venta's eyes caught the sight of the wizard King himself.

A man named Julius.

Julius was a tall, middle-aged man with short messy blond hair and purple eyes. One of his notable features is a blue six-pointed star on the left side of his forehead. Wearing an outfit that would fit rather well with the Wizard King mantle, the man despite being the Wizard King was rather laid back and showed a calm attitude.

Though when it came to Magic…

"Hey! Venta-kun! So, wanna show me your rare Gravity Magic today?"

Venta had to admit each time he saw the Wizard King he wasn't sure what he was going to expect.

Humoring the man, he raised his finger, and caused purple energy to dance between his fingers. Julius had starry eyes as he rushed over from his throne like chair, and got to the right hand side of the young man.

Staring deeply at the sight before him, Julius raised a finger to the purple energy, and lightly tapped it.

"Intriguing, I've always thought so."

"Yeah, my Magic is a bit different."

"I know, and I love it so much!" Julius coughs into his hand, showing a more serious look. "So, it seems that you've been wishing to see me, but both of our times have been cut short lately. Though it is good that we get to meet now. And if you'd like to show even more of your Gravity Magic then I'd be very pleased to see it."

Venta rolled his eyes playfully at the man, before allowing his purple energy to shoot all around the room. Like a blanket in the air, he coated the entire ceiling of the room they were in, before lifting it off into the sky, moving it higher and higher, exposing the sun onto their bodies.

Julius like a kid in a candy shop clapped his hands together again and again at the sight before him.

"Simply amazing, I am quite blown away." As he said it, Venta caused the ceiling to come back down and fixed it so it didn't even look as if it had been blown away in the first place. "So tell me, what is it that I can do for you on this fine day?"

"Yeah...well, let me explain..."

So Venta did just that.

He explained everything that he could do, and what he wished to have some help with, if there was away for curses as Nero's to be at least disrupted. Venta knew the way to get rid of the curse completely. But he didn't have all of the Magic Stones, so failing that, Venta wished to have Nero be able to at least experience some of her human side once more, even if it was for short doses, even if it was just a short period, he thought that it would be better than leaving her a bird for who knows how much longer.

As Julius listened, he rubbed his chin in deep thought.

"I see, that's quite the conundrum. That's Forbidden Magic you've involved yourself with."

"Yes, I understand. I'm personally not looking into casting Forbidden Magic right now, but I would be willing to do everything I can to break their curse."

Nero's eyes looked down towards Venta, showing a small smile on her face.

"You must care for this person."

"I do yes. Very much so."

"I see...well, I do know of something that might be able to assist. But, it is something that I have to explain it isn't an easy thing to require."

"Anything would be helpful."

"Then I know of several locations that might be able to help..."

Julius began explaining what it was that might be able to help. Though Julius said it was a rumour and even he wasn't entirely sure if it would be there when Venta got there or not. But even then, if there was a chance, then Venta was going to take it.

"Thank you, this will be a huge help Wizard King-sama~"

"Haha, how many times do I have to say you can call me Julius? Be like your Captain."

"Well, being like my Captain would mean that I'd owe myself a debt."

Julius cracked up at the joke.

"Yes well, I'd still like to be called that."

"Very well, Julius-sama."

Venta's reply caused the Wizard King to smile, and like a young child excited to see new things, he placed his hands together keenly.

"So, do you want to display some cool new Gravity Spells to me? I know you must have some, your Grimoire looks as if it has become filled with more pages lately."

Venta could see the excitement on his face, and not wanting to deny the Wizard King, he began performing some Gravity Magic Spells for him, while he watched with more and more interest as time went on.

Venta returned back to the Black Bulls that evening, and was sampling the food that Charmy had made, as the small girl herself casually sat on his right thigh. Vanessa sat beside him, drinking from a bottle of wine, Yami sat at the end of the table with Finral sat close by, as a large man that seemed to be breathing out smoke stayed behind Venta and Vanessa.

Though Venta knew there was more than meets the eye when it came to this individual, who's name is Grey.

Venta also saw sitting close by was Nebra.

She hadn't said anything since she came, and simply just sat there, staring at Yami who did the same thing right back.

"Am I missing something?"

Venta asked, Nebra shook her head.

"Nothing darling."

Venta blinked and thought "Did she just call me darling?" while Vanessa furrowed her brows at Nebra.

"Okay..."

Venta was going to let it go, but Nebra sighed dramatically.

"If you must know darling-"

"Why do you keep calling him darling?"

"-I witnessed a horrid sight a few weeks ago, and I cannot look at your Captain without remembering it. Such disgust, and...ugh, I cannot bring myself to speak of such things."

She ignored Vanessa's question while Venta looked at Yami.

"She saw you on the toilet?"

"She saw me on the toilet." Yami confirmed, as his eyes looked towards Finral. "Where is everyone else?"

"Busy I guess."

Replying like that, Finral stretched his arms.

Charmy raised her knife and fork.

"Venta-kun~ Venta-kun~ Lets eat together even more!"

"Haha, of course~ Ooh yeah, I've also got a mission in a few days."

Vanessa showed a cute expression on her face.

"You have? What are you doing?"

"Just looking into something's, that's all. It shouldn't take me long to do it."

"That's a coincidence, as I am going that way as well."

Nebra brought up, Venta glanced at her curiously.

"I didn't say where I was going."

Nebra coughed into her hand, and didn't answer, instead giving a serene smile that seemed to end the conversation to the confusion of everyone in the room.

As they ate together, they felt three new presences coming. Venta was surprised to feel them together, at least two of them. So when they came around the corner, with Mimosa looking annoyed, Kirsch giving off a strong smile, and Dorothy beside him, sleeping away as normal, they walked inside.

"Oh, sleepy head, what are you doing here? It isn't time for our scheduled rematch."

Yami asked, as Venta looked towards Mimosa.

"Mimosa-san, what's going on?"

Mimosa shot a look at Kirsch who cringed.

"Venta-san, I'm sorry, my brother said..."

"As I said, I cannot allow a commoner to date my sister Mimosa!"

"You're dating Mimosa-chan now?"

Vanessa asked while Nebra's brows furrowed at the young Vermilion girl, Venta sighed.

"Kirsch-san seems to think we are."

Vanessa slowly nods, seeing the redness on Mimosa's face growing.

"So, you're ruining dinner because you don't want Venta to date your sister?"

Yami demanded an answer from Kirsch who froze under the harsh gaze that he was giving.

"A-Ah well...y-yes..."

Admitting it to the Captain of the Black Bulls, Yami's brows furrowed even more than ever before, causing Kirsch to cringe and feel intimidated inside.

But Dorothy shuffles forward, and produces a note to Yami.

Yami looked down at it, and read it quietly to himself.

"So, your squad member wants to fight my squad member? And if your Vice Captain wins, then Venta has to leave..." Yami gestures to Mimosa who waves timidly. "...this girl alone?" Dorothy nods. "And if Venta wins, not only can he continue seeing this girl, but he gets to join your squad?" Venta raised an eyebrow at that, as Dorothy nods. "Seriously sleepy head?"

Dorothy takes out another piece of paper with the single word [Seriously.] being written on it.

Yami sweat dropped.

"Geez, anything to get your favourite pillow isn't it? Well, it ain't up to me, though I highly encourage Venta to kick this guys ass."

Venta blinked as Kirsch's mouth hung open.

"Captain?"

Yami smirked, his eyes going to Dorothy, who though still asleep, showed a challenging look on her face.

"This is a good chance, I didn't win our last card games, but if my squad member beats her Vice Captain then it's a victory for me. Plus if you do it, I'll make you Vice Captain."

Venta thought that Yami probably added that for an incentive, but even then Venta wasn't sure if he should do it. Not that he didn't want to fight, as he was up for the challenge, but he didn't know how Mimosa would feel about her brother fighting someone she had become friends with, he didn't want to make her feel upset about anything.

"Wait, he isn't the Vice Captain already? I thought he was."

Vanessa asked Yami who laughed.

"Well, basically he is, he does all the work for it."

"Erm, but what about Na-"

As Venta went to say a name, Yami waved his hand.

"I'm sure that you've got enough skill to be a Vice Captain on any squad anyway and the other guy would be fine with it, besides you already basically do what a Vice Captain does, so lets make it official. So do this for your Captain. I can't lose another thing against this sleepy head Venta. I can't do it."

Most wondered who this 'other guy' was, but quickly forgot it when Kirsch let out a cry when Yami's dark eyes fell upon him.

Venta stared at his Captain, as Nebra looked between them.

"If Venta-kun does beat Kirsch, then others would recognize his talent, even my elder brother, then he'd be more inclined to having Venta-kun join the Silver Eagles, it is alright if they change Squads, I've heard it has happened before, so it can happen now. Yes, we will soon be together, this is fine with me."

Nebra was quite excited for this.

So she turned to Venta and nodded.

"Defending ones honour would be how a noble would approach this situation darling."

Mimosa blinked and like Venta, she thought "Did she just call Venta-san darling?" while Venta looked curiously at her.

"He's your cousin and you're saying for me to go ahead and fight him? What if he loses?"

"While it is true that Kirsch is my cousin, as a Magic Knight, it is a challenge that I believe you should accept. He is the one that is proposing the challenge, so why don't you take him up on this offer for the time being? I am sure that with your wit, and power, you'll be able to combat this foe. So what do you say?"

Venta looked unsure, so his eyes went towards Mimosa.

"Mimosa-san, are you okay with it? I don't want to do something that would cause you trouble."

Mimosa glanced at her brother who was shaking at the look Yami was giving him, before she dismissively shook her head at her elder brother, and looked back to Venta.

"Big brother is causing us trouble anyway...so, if this makes big brother leave us alone. But Venta-san, can you beat my brother? He is a Vice Captain for a reason, he is strong."

Venta glanced at Kirsch, assessing the young man before turning back to Mimosa.

"I can see he's got incredible levels of Mana, but I've got some tricks up my sleeve."

Mimosa glanced at her elder brother, and sighed.

"Seriously, going this far because Venta-san and I are friends..."

"Mimosa, I'm just trying to protect you!"

Venta did like that about Kirsch.

Even if Kirsch's logic was questionable and was unreasonable at times, the fact that he did wish to make sure Mimosa was safe was a good thing in his eyes, and if it took this to stop Kirsch from driving a wedge between Mimosa and Kirsch even further, then Venta didn't mind doing it.

"Protect me? Venta-san is doing the same thing, he's teaching me all new sorts of things."

"You don't have to learn from a commoner Mimosa, I can teach you!"

"You're only saying that so Venta-san and I wouldn't be close..." Mimosa's face turned bright red when she realized what she said and how it sounded. "T-The point is that Venta-san and I are really g-good friends, and I w-want you to stop with this foolishness..."

Venta could see the frustration on Mimosa's face.

He placed a hand on top of her head, her eyes going towards his own.

"Venta-san..."

"Don't worry, it's going to be okay."

Mimosa believed what he said to be true.

She had seen all of the things that he had done, and how he had helped people before, so she didn't have a reason to doubt him now. Especially with the fact that this was a challenge from a Vice Captain and the Captains of both squads were giving the okay for it, she also wished for her brother to stop bothering them for the time being.

Venta took in a deep breath before turning his eyes towards Kirsch once more who had a mixture of curiousness and unsure mixed into one expression.

"I presume you've got an arena set up?"

Kirsch nodded.

"Yes, tomorrow at one in the afternoon. I'll leave the details. Then we'll see who's stronger."

"I never questioned that to you, but sure, if this is what you want, and my Captain wishes for it, then I'll fight you tomorrow at one."

"Great! Then commoner, tomorrow be prepared to lose to a beautiful royal like me!"

Venta slowly nods, as Dorothy moves closer.

She holds up a piece of paper that said [I'm going to your bedroom, come quickly.] towards Venta, before shuffling off up the stairs.

Kirsch blinks, and calls out.

"Eeh, where is my Captain going?"

"To my bed."

Venta replied, perplexing Kirsch.

"Eh?! Y-You and my Captain are...d-doing things together?!"

Venta gave him a curious look as Mimosa blushed hard at the thought of Venta and Dorothy being together. She also seemed to have a cute jealous look pass through her eyes, even Vanessa had to admit that she did feel slightly jealous also of someone like Dorothy.

"Your Captain likes sleeping here, using my...body as a pillow."

Kirsch looked super surprised while Mimosa's thoughts ran wild within her mind.

However, that was quickly replaced with the young female Captain coming down the stairs, and took Venta's hand, before walking back up the stairs once more, perplexing Kirsch even more.

The next day rolled on by, and now Venta stood within a field, with Kirsch staring at him from a distance. A good distance away, Venta saw his Captain and Kirsch's own sat together, with some of the squad looking on. Some couldn't make it, but some like Vanessa cheered Venta on together with Charmy, and Mimosa looked between the two of them, wondering what was going to become of this.

Venta saw even Noelle had come, and she was standing off, hiding behind a tree.

When noticing her, he waved, but she looked shy, and hid by the tree even more so she was nearly out of view, only her hair could be seen.

Venta thought it was rather cute for her to do such a thing.

Even Dorothy held up a flag that had 'Team Venta' written on it as she was still in her sleepy state, something that stunned Kirsch.

"Captain! What about me?!"

Dorothy brought out another flag that had 'Team Kirsch' written on it, something Vanessa found really funny.

Kirsch wasn't sure how he was supposed to feel about that.

Venta looked towards Nero who rested on top of his head.

"Nero, it's time."

Nero took off from his head, and went towards Mimosa's hair.

Mimosa looked up to see the bird casually resting on top of her head, and simply staring out towards the arena.

Venta then turned his eyes to Kirsch.

"Are we doing this like a three strikes you're out? Or are we doing this until one of us is unconscious?"

"Hmmm, well to give you something of a chance, we'll do it until one of us, you, is unconscious." Venta rolled his eyes as Kirsch continued. "You agree to the rules? If I win, then you'll leave Mimosa alone?"

"You're really determined about that. Why is it so bad that commoners and royals mix together?"

At the posed question, Kirsch paused, while Mimosa gently smiled.

She always thought the same thing.

She didn't get why it had to be different to how royals and royals act, or commoners and commoners act together.

"B-Because, it is different! Commoners and royals don't mix! The beautiful and the ugly-"

"Okay, I get it."

Venta cut him off, seeing Kirsch was going to go into a rant, something Mimosa found rather funny.

But she also saw that Kirsch looked serious, as if he was going to be fighting for his life.

"Then, whenever you're ready..."

"Do you agree to the terms?"

Kirsch asked, Venta shrugged.

"If you do."

"Of course, then I'm ready."

As the fight was going to begin, Venta saw that some other people had appeared. He saw Nebra pulling up together with her two brothers. Solid looked condescending as he usually did, and Nozel, the eldest of the Silva Siblings, looked on with mild curiosity.

When Noelle saw her brothers, she made sure to stay even more out of sight, though Nozel caught her but didn't say anything as she made it over to Yami's group, and stayed behind them.

"Geez, it's that weird guy again from that village! Big sister, why did you drag us out here?"

Solid demanded, only for Nebra to glance at him.

"Because I have something to show big brother Nozel. Hm, even if he is a commoner, this one has talent. And I believe he'd be great for the Silva Eagles, so please watch big brother, and then I'm sure you'd come to the same conclusion. Think of your Magic, and his blending together. And his Magic is a rare type, not many people have such Gravity Magic that I've ever met, in fact I can't think of anyone that does have Gravity Magic."

Nozel didn't seem amused and kept a stoic gaze upon the arena before him.

Venta's eyes glanced at Nozel, who kept up his stoic gaze.

But within a few seconds, his brows furrowed ever so slightly.

It was barely noticeable, but it was there.

Venta shook his head, turning his eyes back to Kirsch.

Or he would have done if he hadn't noticed a good distance away, what seemed to be an old lady was spying on them. Covered by a large cloak, it was clear to Venta's eyes that this was the Wizard King in disguise.

He didn't say anything, the other Captains in the area also noticed and they didn't say anything either.

It seemed that he wished to see the fight go down.

Venta then truly shifted his eyes back to Kirsch this time, focusing deadly on the form before him.

"I'm ready now then."

Kirsch nodded, and waved his hands energetically before him. As he did, cherry blossoms began to appear. They danced all around his form, while Venta watched with a keen look in his eyes.

"Then lets do this!"

Kirsch summoned tons of cherry blossoms around his form, and then they shot for Venta in a strong wave of them. Many tiny pieces of cherry blossoms came at him, trying to flank him from all sides as Kirsch moved his hands.

Mimosa looked on with worry, but Yami laughed.

"Seriously? That's the attack he starts with?"

Mimosa glanced at Yami, seeing that he didn't have any concern.

"Aren't you worried?"

Yami glanced at Mimosa, before smirking.

"No."

Hearing that, it was clear that Yami had immense confidence in Venta's ability to fight, and deal with this.

Kirsch continued summoning his cherry blossoms until they finally formed a dome around Venta's firm. Leaving no openings, no one in the area could even see Venta's form thanks to the fact that the cherry blossoms numbers were high.

"Aren't you even going to try? That's fine, I presume someone like you would be worried about someone as beautiful as I am and my beautiful Magic as well, ready to slice your body up into something very unsightly."

With a snap of his fingers, Kirsch sent all of the cherry blossoms towards Venta's form.

Mimosa clasped her hands together, wondering what was going to happen.

Noelle also looked on with worry with what was going to happen.

But to their astonishment, as the cherry blossoms all swarmed Venta's form, they suddenly fell down to the ground. A purple field around Venta, as he murmured "Gravity Magic, Weighted Field." which caused all of the attacks to weigh more than they could stand, falling down to the ground.

The cherry blossoms scattered around Venta's form, looking like a field of cherry blossoms that caused even Kirsch to believe for a few moments that the scene before him was rather beautiful to gaze at.

Nozel looked mildly surprised, and intrigued that each little cherry blossom had been stopped. They were so small that they could go through the tiniest places for them to get by the enemies defence, but not one even came near Venta's form at all.

Nebra did a silent cheer while Vanessa raised her hands.

"Yahoo! Ven-kun, counterstrike him!"

Venta glanced at Vanessa who waved energetically.

"Y-You stopped my beautiful Magic!?"

"That's right. Now you can have it back."

Venta waved his hands up into the air, and caused all of the cherry blossoms to float. The smallest pieces all came together, and formed what seemed to be a giant fist made out of Kirsch's own Magic, something that astonished him, and excited Nebra very much.

"See big brother Nozel? Isn't that skilled?"

Venta then moved his hand down, so the giant fist of cherry blossoms came down, Venta added weight to them so they'd come down a good deal heavier than normal cherry blossoms would be, Kirsch's face turned sour as he blasted many cherry blossoms up at the fist, but only managed to cut a small part of it away as Venta's Magic held it all together in a beautiful display.

Kirsch allowed cherry blossoms to run below him, and shoot him off into the air to dodge the attack.

But as he did, Venta appeared before him.

"Aaaah!"

Venta punched forward.

Kirsch tried to block with a wall of cherry blossoms, but Venta used his own Magic in a shockwave pulse that dispersed them all around them, as his fist slammed into the man's face, his physical strength being enough to send the young man flying deep into the ground where he went skidding for a solid five seconds, catching the ground up, dirtying his clothes as well as having cuts appear across his body, before stopping.

Kirsch lays there, injured from the punch while Noelle looked shocked.

"A punch like that, Kirsch couldn't stop it either...Kirsch isn't weak either, so for him to land such an attack already is amazing..."

As she thought about it, Nozel raises an eyebrow.

"That far with no Magic aiding in his physical strength? He has gotten stronger."

Nozel comments to himself, while Nebra silently cheers, Solid on the other hand looks stunned by what was going on.

"H-How did he punch Kirsch like that!? Isn't he a commoner?!"

Solid couldn't believe it, as Yami waved towards Nozel.

"Heh, see that?! My Venta is going to be kicking your cousins ass!"

Vanessa glanced at Yami, seeing him smirking in a semi playful manner.

Nozel didn't look amused, and tossed a hand through his hair.

"Perhaps he got in one lucky shot, he wont get in another."

Having said that aloud, he thought that the fight was going more in Venta's way than it was Kirsch's right now and he'd have to step it up if he was going to be able to win this fight.

"Hahaha! Venta, step it up!"

Venta glances at his Captain, seeing a strong thumbs up coming from him.

Venta gave a curious expression, before turning back to Kirsch, seeing that he hadn't gotten up.

Venta thought it was a mixture of pain and being paralyzed with the fact that he actually got damage from someone that he thought was just a commoner. He didn't hit Kirsch with all of his might, he didn't want to seriously damage Kirsch, and he wished to see what Cherry Blossom Magic could truly do as well.

Kirsch lays on the ground for half a minute, unbelieving that he actually got hit, and the fact that even he saw that it wasn't enhanced by Magic either, he knew that he'd have turn up the power or he'd end up being defeated.

Kirsch, bleeding from his mouth, pulls himself up.

Placing a hand to his face, he gasps.

"Blood! I am actually bleeding! A commoner made me bleed!"

"Yes you're bleeding, it's what happens when you fight sometimes."

Kirsch stands up fully, feeling the pain erupting from his face due to the attack Venta gave.

"Not when it is royal blood such as myself. It is a trick, a commoner couldn't do this to me!"

"It doesn't matter who you are on a battlefield, it matter what you're going to do. Commoner, royal, it's all the same to me."

Venta, as he spoke, pushed his Magic into his legs, and shot off towards Kirsch.

The ground erupted when Venta pushed off from it, causing Yami to smirk at the sight.

Closing the distance quickly, Kirsch became desperate, and fired off wave after wave of his cherry blossoms to try and cut the boy up before he could get in close.

But to his amazement, Venta dodged each and every assault.

The cherry blossoms sliced through the ground, where Venta had previously been.

Each time.

"Wow...he's dodging them so elegantly. Big brother Kirsch might be arrogant, but he is a Vice Captain for a reason. He is skilled, and his Magic is rather fast. So the fact that Venta-san is dodging them all without receiving injury is fantastic..."

Mimosa was impressed to say the least.

Yami though seemed to expect it, and looked on calmly.

Kirsch placed a hand to his chest, seeing Venta coming in towards him, causing him to become even angrier than ever.

"That's it, you want to fight me common boy? Then I'll show you some Magic!" Kirsch's Grimoire flies open and lands on a certain spell. "Cherry Blossom Magic, Magic Cherry Blossom Blizzard!"

As he said it, surrounding Kirsch, thousands of cherry blossoms emerged. Floating around in the wind, they began swarming out. More than before, and more than some were expecting, the thousands upon thousands of cherry blossoms scattered around, creating a field of them where even Venta had to admit that he was finding it difficult to see just using his eyes.

"This is one of big brothers strongest spells...he's intending to make sure that Venta-san can't attack him and stop his Mana Sensing as well."

Mimosa stared out at the ocean of cherry blossoms, wondering what Venta was going to do about this kind of attack.

Noelle looked on, and then turned towards Mimosa, seeing the worry on her face.

"Don't worry, lets see what happens."

Mimosa turned to Noelle, and gave a small smile.

"Hm, so he does have some interesting Magic's up his sleeve."

While saying it, Yami's eyes glanced at Dorothy, seeing the same sleepy expression that she usually had on.

Venta, standing in the centre of the cherry blossom storm, looked around. His vision obscured, Venta also tried to use Mana Sensing, but found that it wasn't getting through at all, so he presumed that the spell was also disrupting that kind of sensing.

"Not bad, it seems that while I'm like this, I'm cut off. Most likely, he's going to try and launch a surprise attack of some kind, and because of the fact I can't sense, he's going to take advantage of that. He's definitely smart if he's going for that kind of attack. Now this is what I wanted to see from Kirsch-san. But, it wont work with me."

Venta tightened his fists, as gravity energy swirled around him.

More and more, gravity condensed around his hands, as Kirsch flew on his cherry blossoms.

He went above Venta, and began readying his Magic to fire off in a strong single burst to rain down cherry blossoms to cut Venta up to the point that he'd not be able to compete in the fight anymore, something that Kirsch thought would be best as he didn't want to prolong the fight, knowing that up close Venta was more than he was, even he could see that for himself.

However, before Kirsch could, Venta raised his hands.

"Gravity Magic, Repelling Shockwave!"

Releasing it from both hands, two shockwave's of repelling force ripped through the area. As they did, the cherry blossoms all were repelled from around him. Even though the spell was meant to block attacks also, Venta's attack was able to bypass that and caused all of the cherry blossoms in his area to shoot high into the sky, dispelling them from the ground.

Nozel, and particularly Solid looked surprised.

The Wizard King smiled to himself, and thought "Thank you for putting on such a great show Venta-kun, Kirsch-san!" as he was enthralled by seeing the Magic clashing together.

Kirsch saw his cherry blossoms fly away into the air, and his face turned rather pale.

"No..."

Kirsch watched Venta on the ground, stare up at him.

"I see you."

Kirsch began to shake side to side.

He couldn't allow Venta to come close.

"Cherry Blossom Magic, Clones of Beautiful Me!"

From his cherry blossoms, clones of Kirsch began to appear. They looked so life like that they could be mistaken for Kirsch himself. Even some of the less experienced Magic Knights were perplexed as to which one was the real Kirsch as they all swarmed around, even Kirsch was using his cherry blossoms to fly around to try and distract Venta.

"That's a very interesting name for your spell."

Kirsch gives an elegant bow of his body.

"Naturally~ Beautiful, just like me~"

Venta gave a curious stare and shot off towards Kirsch.

Kirsch sent his clones to attack Venta, as he summoned masses of cherry blossoms.

Using the clones as a distraction, Kirsch came down from the right as his clones swarmed from the left, and up above.

Venta coated his hands in gravity as he slams forward with sharp punches, slamming into the clones and dispelling them immediately, but thanks to the time, Kirsch released a sharp blast of his cherry blossoms to try and cut through Venta's body.

Sensing them in time, Venta bends his body while in the air, avoiding the attack all together, and then shot for Kirsch.

Kirsch panics, swinging his arms down and releases thin waves of cherry blossoms that looked like crescent moons, but Venta manages to avoid them, then places his hand out, releasing a shockwave of gravity for Kirsch.

He blocks with his cherry blossoms forming a wall, but they were scattered away, revealing Venta up close and personal, something that made Kirsch nervous, even worried about what was going to happen next.

"No!"

Swarming cherry blossoms all around himself, he caused them to form a dome to protect his body, as he prepares another spell.

"Hah!"

Venta blasts them all away, and the shockwave this time catches Kirsch up, sending him flying down towards him.

Wincing as he went flying down, Kirsch creates many cherry blossoms below himself to cushion his impact, something that Venta thought was a very smart thing for him to do.

Though even with the cushioned impact, Venta saw that he coughed up some blood, as he came swinging down with his fist.

Kirsch cries, and causes his cherry blossoms to carry him out of the way while creating more clones to fire at Venta long enough to distract him.

"Blow away."

Venta smiles as he uses his Gravity in a pulse wave, dispelling the clones away from his body and then augments his fist in gravity.

Swinging it down, his fist slams into the ground so hard, releasing the gravity through the ground and on the top surface level of the arena as well, uprooting it to the point that even Kirsch's cherry blossoms were blown away thanks to the initial shockwave of the fist.

Landing on the ground, Kirsch pants, seeing the battlefield being destroyed by the fists shockwave. Even those that weren't on the battlefield felt the area beginning to shake, with Nozel looking on with more intrigue, as Nebra could see that Nozel seemed to be getting more interested, exactly like she had wanted.

"Ooh Ven-kun..."

Vanessa places a hand to her face, seeing how Venta was enjoying himself.

Yami smiled at the performance that Venta was giving. He wasn't trying to destroy the pride that Kirsch had, but to see that his birth didn't mean everything in a fight. Yes, it gave him incredible levels of Mana, but he shouldn't believe he'd succeed due to that alone.

Mimosa could also see that Kirsch was looking worried…

No, he looked scared.

He didn't know that Venta would be this good.

He thought his Magic would be more than enough for him.

But every attack that he sent out, Venta was able to destroy it.

He wasn't getting through at all.

Kirsch himself also realized this fact.

His attacks weren't reaching Venta.

Even though he was royalty and as far as he knew, Venta was a commoner, it just didn't make sense to him.

"No...I wont lose to you! I can't lose to you!"

Venta looked on, before channelling his gravity through his hand.

"If that's how you feel, then I'll end it with this fist."

Kirsch didn't believe him, so he wrapped cherry blossoms around himself, as his Grimoire flipped to another page.

"End it with a fist? You think I'll go down that easily?"

"You're royalty, you do have great levels of Mana, and how you use your Magic as well is quite good. That spell that blocks attacks and even obscures Mana Sensing, for someone that relies solely on their Magic, that would be a devastating kind of attack. But you also shouldn't just rely on your higher Mana, as you might meet people that can counter that. Also, you shouldn't judge people for where they come from, you should see who they are before you make any judgements. If they're good, bad, Mimosa-san is someone that does that, and it's why I really like her. She doesn't see status, she sees people, and that's wonderful."

His words brought some perplexity to Kirsch who thought about what he said.

Nebra also thought about it, while Mimosa understood what Venta was saying.

He wasn't berating Kirsch.

He wasn't trying to humiliate him.

He was trying to show him that not everything in the world revolved around who had the higher Mana and where you were born and what family you belong to. Intelligence played a factor, fighting experience did also. Higher Mana was a good part of it, but it wasn't everything. And Mimosa could see that despite having a few good chances to cause real harm to Kirsch, he didn't, as he didn't want to injure Kirsch to the point that he'd suffer, only so he'd win.

She also heard when Venta said "I really like her." and that caused a massive blush to erupt across her face, and she poked her fingers together so shyly and cutely that even Yami understood what Mimosa was feeling at that moment.

"So, you've got a crush on Venta."

Mimosa did a spit take at Yami, and shook her head side to side.

"N-No! It isn't like that!"

"Why not? I think it would be nice if he had a girlfriend, date him. Though beware of the Prickly Queen, she's got her eyes set on him too, even if she denies it."

Mimosa was confused if that was an order, or a suggestion, as the tone sounded like it was a little of both.

Noelle looked to her cousin and blinked rapidly, but then she adopted a smile.

"You do, don't you Mimosa?"

"Noelleeeee! I-I don't!"

Noelle didn't believe her, and lightly laughed, causing Mimosa to look on with an embarrassed face.

Vanessa looked on, seeing that Yami was putting Venta and Mimosa together, bringing a good deal of perplexity to her thoughts at that moment in time.

Kirsch thought about what he said, but then shook his head.

Gathering his cherry blossoms, he readied his spell.

"Cherry Blossom Magic, Dance of the Million Cherry Blossoms!"

Kirsch creates a large folding fan made of cherry blossoms.

Swinging the fan launches multiple streams of cherry blossoms towards Venta, which he deduced are extremely sharp and can invade any defences with small openings.

Even Venta was happy with the spell, so he readied his body once more, and got into a fighting position.

"Lets do this. Gravity Magic, Annihilation Fist!"

Venta charged forward as the multiple streams converged on his form. The sharp and deadly waves that came for him, Venta punched them in one massive attack, releasing his gravity before him, which transmitted through all of the cherry blossoms and caused them to scatter around.

Kirsch couldn't do a thing to stop it as he was briefly stunned by the intense wave of gravity that pushed against his body, and he then received a straight punch to the upper body, sending the young man flying away at super speeds.

Bouncing off the ground several times, Kirsch's body received a good few injuries before coming to a halt on the ground.

His eyes couldn't stay open anymore, and he fell unconscious.

"Well, it seems that Venta won the fight." Yami's eyes went to the sleeping Dorothy who didn't even respond. "I might not have won in the game of cards we played, but my Vice Captain, managed to defeat your own! What do you have to say to that?"

Vanessa saw the smile that was on Yami's face.

It seemed he truly was happy to finally win in a bet against Dorothy, even if he himself hadn't actually done anything for said bet beyond make it, and that it was Venta who managed to win the bet for him.

Dorothy didn't respond, but held up a piece of paper that said [Venta-kun can join my squad.] which caused irritation to Yami.

"No, that's not how it works. I might occasionally bet him, but I never give up my squad members!"

Dorothy just kept holding up the piece of paper to Yami's irritation.

Nebra looked on, pleased that Venta managed to beat Kirsch.

Not that she hated Kirsch, but she thought that this would be a good way to see what Venta could do, which she was quite happy about, and then saw that Nozel looked on. His expression hadn't changed from stoic, but Nozel could see what Venta had done, and managed to beat Kirsch in a straight one on one fight, and thought about what happened deeply.

Venta watched as Mimosa came running down, and made it to his side.

"Venta-san, you managed to beat big brother…!"

Venta smiled, but saw the look in Mimosa's eyes.

One of worry and concern for Kirsch.

"Your brother, he fought admirably."

Mimosa's face began turning red.

"But what he said...and how he acted..."

"He's still your family, you can't choose your family, and I don't think he's genuinely a horrible person, I think his views might be misguided but certainly not horrible deep to his core. He seems to be a bit too obsessed with his own, as he calls it, beauty, but he genuinely cares for you Mimosa-san and to me, that's the best thing I've seen from him."

Mimosa agreed with what Venta said.

"Yes...big brother is like that. During the fight, I saw him becoming more passionate, and to use his beauty fascination, that fight was more beautiful than he's ever been."

Venta smiled at what she said.

"Yeah, I can understand that very well."

"Yes...but, I'm glad you won Venta-san, we don't have to worry about big brother for...maybe about a month."

Venta laughed to himself.

"Yeah, that sounds about right."

Mimosa giggled to herself, as she noticed the smile that Venta gave her.

One of kindness, one that she really did like.

One...that she felt like she wished to see everyday.

A small time later, Kirsch finally wakes up, with his wounds healed. Venta hadn't done serious damage as he promised to himself, Mimosa sat by his bedside and watched on as her brother lifted his head.

"Ow...why does it feel like I've been hit by a mountain?"

Mimosa giggled awkwardly.

"Well...you lost your fight big brother."

Kirsch let out a small cry.

"No...that means you're going to be able to spend more time with him..."

"Venta-san is a good person, big brother. I really...I really like him."

Admitting that in a casual way, Kirsch was surprised Mimosa said it.

He could see that she had a blush on her face, and she looked rather shy in admitting to it also.

"M-Mimosa...he could be a commoner though..."

"Even if he is...why is that bad?"

At that, Kirsch didn't know how to respond.

He didn't have any answers for her.

"...So, you're going to keep seeing him?"

"Yes, big brother. I will be keep seeing him."

Kirsch didn't know what to think.

He thought back to the fight, and how...he didn't win.

Even though he was royalty, he didn't win the fight.

He presumed that he had higher levels of Mana, but he didn't even manage to do any serious damage to Venta.

"W-Well...it wasn't like he was completely ugly during the fight. H-He fought with grace, and elegance in some fashion and it was kind of beautiful that Magic he wields."

From Kirsch, that was a good compliment.

"Yes...you're right."

Kirsch stayed silent after that.

For a few minutes, neither said anything.

Then Kirsch tightened his hand.

"N-Next time, I'll be prepared! I will train hard!"

Mimosa blinked in surprise.

Kirsch thought the idea of training would be beneath him.

But because of his fight with Venta, it seemed that he wished to better himself.

Even if it was just for the chance to fight Venta again, Mimosa was glad that he was trying to improve himself.

Mimosa looked at her brother for a few moments, before standing up.

"I'll leave you to get some rest."

"Are you...going to see that Black Bull?"

Mimosa couldn't tell the tone that he was using.

If it was good or bad.

Kirsch was surprisingly being rather stoic so it was hard to discern.

"Yes, why?"

Kirsch didn't face Mimosa as he said what he did next.

"...Be safe, and have fun."

Though the words weren't anything special, Mimosa could hear that there was slight acceptance to what Mimosa wished for.

Even if Kirsch didn't believe that Venta and Mimosa could be together...for the moment Kirsch believed in Mimosa's thoughts and how she felt.

And for the moment...that was enough for Mimosa.

End chapter!

So this chapter focused a bit on Kirsch and what he tried to do, getting into a fight, even going as far as to go to his Captain. Venta and Julius had a brief meeting and seem to get along rather well, Julius of course being quite intrigued by his Gravity Magic. Venta's also keeping up with teaching Mimosa and Noelle, who's progressing a good deal.

Venta and Kirsch fought, with Kirsch trying his hardest, and though he didn't win, Venta respected how hard he did try and even complimented him on his magic and how well he used it.

Then Mimosa and Kirsch had a small moment together, while Kirsch still seems to be unsure, it seems that he might be coming round to the idea of Venta and Mimosa, and it seems he wishes to train and face off against Venta again in the future.

Finally, thanks to everyone that voted! It seems that Demon Light Magic edged out the victory, so yeah, it's gonna be fun exploring that and Gravity Magic together.

Well, until next time, thanks for reading!
