What if Deku...

Chapter eleven: Deku's needs

The audience that had been summoned by Talespinner69 blinked once or twice, with some shaking their heads. "...What the hell happened?" Toga asked.

"Yeah, we haven't been here in a while, sorry," Tale said from where he stood on the stage with Kotaro. To the surprise of the audience, Tale was eating a slice of some cake that was on a plate he was holding.

"...Where did the cake come from?" Sato asked.

Tale pointed the end of his fork at the muscular sugar lover. "Lego sent it to me, had sent my Naganadel Wyrmscale to deliver it. Luckily the cake was a kind that Wyrmscale doesn't like, as otherwise he'd have most likely eaten it on the way here. Wyrmscale has a Timid nature, so he loves sweets."

Looking at Tale, Kotaro said, "I thought that the Naganadel species was genderless."

"It is," Tale began to explain after eating another forkful of cake, "But I refer to Wyrmscale as being male because his name I gave him sounds male."

Holding up a hand, Izuku asked, "What show is this again?"

"The one with alternate versions of you," Tale answered, having finished his cake. "...Wow, the cake that Lego made to celebrate that one character's death was pretty damn good."

Tenya, looking shocked, said, "Your fellow realmcrafter actually made a cake to celebrate someone dying?!"

Shrugging, Tale said, "It was a really evil character, from what I've gleaned. Hell, I'd bake a cake to celebrate the death of Dolores Umbridge."

Uraraka scowled. "I just hope we don't get a realm here where Izuku is evil. I just think that Izuku and him being evil simply doesn't mix."

"Well we already had a realm where he was a villain, so I don't think you have to worry," Kotaro said, "Especially since we got the next realm ready."

Everyone in the theater turned to look at the big theater screen, with Mirko saying, "I agree that I don't want a bad Green Bean, but at least give us another one who's badass!"

"What she said," Bakugo remarked as the next realm began playing.

...

Bakugo was talking to Mina, Kyoka, and Yaoyorozu in the 1-A homeroom during a break in class as Aizawa was waiting for someone to show up. "So that's the plan," Bakugo said, "You three and the other girls in class here distract that hysteric holler monkey in 1-B so that I can make some moves on Pony, and hopefully by the end of the day I'll-"

Bakugo was cut off when Izuku, a curious look on his face, came walking over to the group. "Ah, is there anything that we can help you with, Midoriya-kun?" Yaoyorozu asked, sounding very friendly towards her green-haired classmate.

"Hey Yaoyorozu," Izuku began, "Can I feel your forehead?"

"So we got Bakugo aiming to get Pony as his girl," Mineta in the audience said, "And Izuku asking if he can feel Yaoyorozu's forehead. Interesting start so far."

"Wait, why would this Izuku ask Yaoyorozu if he could feel her forehead?" Mina asked.

Shrugging, Kotaro said, "We're about to see."

Yaoyorozu, a bit surprised by the request, nonetheless said, "Umm, sure, Midoriya-kun, go ahead." At that prompting, Izuku placed the back of his right hand against Yaoyorozu's forehead, then the front of that hand, then pulled away.

With a mildly annoyed look on his face, Izuku said, "Huh, so Mineta's a liar."

"The hell did Grape Head say, Izuku?" Bakugo asked.

"Did Katsuki actually refer to Inko's son by his actual name for once?!" Mitsuki in the audience exclaimed, taken aback by sheer surprise.

Bakugo himself looked curious about that. "...The hell's going on here?"

Turning to look at Bakugo, Izuku said, "Well Mineta was saying that Yaoyorozu was really hot, which got me worried that she was running a fever. But after feeling her forehead just now, I can safely say that Yaoyorozu is actually running a normal temperature." Izuku turned to look at Yaoyorozu, gave her a small smile and a nod. "You're perfectly healthy."

"Umm, thanks Midoriya-kun," Yaoyorozu said, still a little unsure of things.

Sighing in an understanding manner, Bakugo said, "Izuku, buddy, let me explain something. When Grape Head was saying that Ponytail here is hot, he meant that he thinks that she's very appealing to look at."

"Oh, Mineta was saying that Yaoyorozu is pretty," Izuku said, sounding like he was understanding things now, "Okay." Looking at Yaoyorozu, Izuku stared for a second before he said, "Yes, I do agree that Yaoyorozu looks very nice."

Yaoyorozu chuckled a bit in an appreciative manner. "Thank you, Midoriya-kun."

"So this version of Deku isn't exactly perceptive of metaphors?" Bakugo in the audience said.

Shrugging, Kotaro said, "There's probably more here than what's meeting the eye."

As Bakugo and the girls continued talking to Izuku, Aizawa got up from the floor where he was sleeping in his sleeping bag. He held his phone as he looked at the screen. "Ah, about time." To his class, Aizawa said, "Alright all of you. The person I'm waiting for is going to be here in a few moments, so you all better be on your best behavior."

"Who is it, Aizawa-sensei?" Tokoyami asked while Dark Shadow was out and hanging next to him.

"All Might will be coming in as a special guest lecturer," Aizawa explained, "To go over the history of pro heroes who used capes in their costumes, as well as the pros and cons of having a cape as part of one's pro hero costume."

The class cheered, but not as loud as a whole class cheering normally would be. Bakugo and the girls he was with, as they were likewise cheering, stopped when they noticed that Izuku was so excited that All Might was coming, he was hopping up and down while flapping both of his hands.

"Umm, I know All Might is the greatest, but I wouldn't get that excited," Izuku said, "Or at least that wouldn't be my reaction."

Tale looked up at the big theater screen. "...I think I'm seeing a pattern here."

As Bakugo got Izuku to settle down, Hizashi came barging into the room suddenly, screaming at the top of his lungs, "THIS IS THE TALE! OF CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW! PIRATE SO BRAVE! ON THE SEVEN-"

Hizashi was cut off when Aizawa, pissed at the sudden entrance and loud singing, threw his sleeping bag into Hizashi's face, making him shut up and scramble to remove the sleeping bag. "You could have come in quietly, you know," Aizawa scolded.

"Heh, sorry," Hizashi said, "It's just I'm so excited I got a raise that I just had to sing."

Bakugo rolled his eyes, but he was suddenly alerted when Mina said, "Oh my goodness, Midoriya-kun! Are you okay?" Bakugo turned to see Izuku, with a scared and distressed look on his face, was cowering while covering his ears with his hands.

The explosive boy scoffed as he turned to look at Hizashi, giving him a scolding look. "Izuku's scared because Hizashi-sensei forgot that he's sensitive to high volumes of noise." A lot of the other students in 1-A, as well as Aizawa, all shot accusatory looks at Hizashi, who was cowed by all of the disappointment he was receiving.

(What if Deku was autistic)

"Hoo boy, I had a feeling this was the case," Tale said as he looked up at the big theater screen, "We got a realm where Izuku has autism."

Folding her arms over her chest, Mitsuki said, "That would explain why Katsuki in this realm isn't being a dick to Inko's son. It's bad enough Katsuki gave Izuku a hard time, that pisses me off enough as is. But if Katsuki did all of that to a kid who's special needs, then I'd be sent to jail for having committed filicide."

Scoffing, Bakugo said, "Even I know better than to be a dick to someone who is special needs. You'd have to be a complete fucking monster to be a dick to someone like that."

"I once had a potential recruit to the League of Villains secretly murdered because he decided to target special needs persons because they were special needs," All For One said, "I will not tolerate such morality among those serving me."

Toshinori turned to look at his greatest nemesis. "...You having morality."

...

That evening at the 1-A dorm building, Bakugo and his squad were trying to make Izuku feel better over how he had been given a hard time that day. "I can't believe I missed All Might coming in because I had to be taken out of class to relax after Hizashi-sensei was being really scary," Izuku said in a disappointed tone.

"Don't worry, I'm sure Aizawa-sensei will kick Hizashi-sensei's ass for you," Bakugo said.

"It was hella unmanly for Hizashi-sensei to pop in randomly like that," Kirishima agreed, "It kind of reminded me how I had to set Togaru over in 1-B straight after him playing some heavy metal music way too high frightened my girlfriend because she's also autistic."

"Kirishima is dating an autistic girl in this realm?" Mina in the audience said, looking surprised.

"Gee," Bakugo said dryly as he took a look at where all of the 1-B girls sat, "I wonder who it will be."

As Bakugo and his squad continued to reassure Izuku, Uraraka came over. "Hey Izuku," said the gravity girl, a hint of knowing in her tone, "Someone came here to check up on you!"

Izuku, expressing curiosity, was about to ask who it was. But he got cut off before he could even ask as Toshinori, aka All Might before he retired, came in. "I was told Present Mic had unknowingly given you a rough time, Young Midoriya," Toshinori said, "Are you doing better?"

"All Might!" Izuku exclaimed excitedly, hopping up and down a bit. The retired hero got Izuku to settle down a bit before trying to talk to him again.

"To be fair, I'd react with excitement to seeing All Might come to check up on me regardless," Izuku in the audience said.

Toshinori chuckled a bit in amusement. "Well I'm glad to see I still have the confidence of many."

After Izuku settled down, Toshinori said, "Anyway, I was hoping that you could help me, Young Midoriya. I have to go to some fancy event to help raise money, and I have no idea what I can use to break the ice with the wealthy donors at the event."

"Oh, I got it!" Izuku said before turning to go run to where Yaoyorozu was at. At Izuku's request, Yaoyorozu made something with her quirk, but Toshinori and the Baku-squad couldn't see what it was. A few moments later, Izuku came back with what Yaoyorozu had made for him, which turned out to be a hammer.

Handing the hammer to Toshinori, Izuku said, "This will help you break a lot of ice. Just pound this into the ice and the ice will break easy."

"He took things literally again," Bakugo in the audience commented.

Shrugging, Tale said, "I know some folks with autism, and it's not uncommon for them to take things literally."

"They mean well at least," Kotaro commented.

"Izuku," Mina spoke up, getting his attention, "When All Might said he needed something to help break the ice, he meant that he needed ideas on what to say to facilitate conversation with the wealthy donors who more than likely live in the same area as Yaoyorozu."

"That would explain why Yaoyorozu told me her dad would be at that party," Izuku said. Looking to Toshinori, Izuku said somewhat sheepishly, "Sorry about misinterpreting what you said, All Might."

Chuckling in good nature, Toshinori replied, "It's quite alright, Izuku my boy." Toshinori patted Izuku on the back, which apparently rattled Izuku and made him freeze up, a mildly scared look on his face.

Giving the retired hero a dry look, Bakugo said, "You forgot that he doesn't like being touched in any way unless he either says it's okay or he initiates it." Toshinori apologized for making his protege freak out unknowingly.

Nodding along, Kotaro said, "Yeah, some folks with autism don't like being touched. I once worked with an autistic girl who freaked if someone touched her, even if it was a friendly gesture like the pat on the back All Might in this realm gave to the realm's Izuku."

"I think I know what you're talking about," Tale remarked.

"And he still chose the boy to take his mantle in this realm," All For One commented, "That would be interesting, facing a One For All bearer who is special needs."

...

The following morning, Izuku woke up and went downstairs to the ground floor of the 1-A dorm building to see a number of caterers coming in and out, with Yaoyorozu directing all of them. "Yaoyorozu, why are there so many people here?" Izuku asked, sounding mildly scared of so many people he didn't recognize.

"Oh, Midoriya-kun," Yaoyorozu said, "Sorry if all of these guys being here caught you off guard, but they're actually going to help me and Itsuka over in 1-B with something that not only Itsuka wants, but quite frankly I want as well." A determined look on her face, Yaoyorozu said, "For the bitter feelings between 1-A and 1-B to be done away with."

Izuku nodded in understanding. "Oh yeah, Itsuka wants our classes to be friends and hates how Monoma still tries to keep the classes as bitter rivals."

In the audience, Itsuka smacked Monoma in the back of the head with an enlarged hand. "Yeah, I enabled her quirk solely to let her do just that," Tale explained from where he stood on the stage, "I disabled it again afterwards."

Looking around, Izuku asked, "What are the guys bringing in?"

"I had this catering crew bring in a large spread from that fancy bagel place," Yaoyorozu said as the Baku-squad all came in. "There will be enough for everyone to have two to three bagels. There will also be a selection of flavored cream cheese spreads to choose from."

Looking at what all was coming in, Mina remarked, "Wow, a fancy spread of bagels for everyone in our class and in 1-B to share. Not a bad idea."

"Oh, there's going to be plain bagels," Kirishima began, "And strawberry flavored cream cheese spread, right? It's what my girlfriend likes, and she'll refuse to eat any other kind of bagel, or use any other kind of flavored cream cheese spread."

"Kirishima in this realm mentioned that his girlfriend is autistic," Aizawa in the audience said, "And him describing how his girlfriend is particular when it comes to what kind of bagel with what kind of flavored cream cheese spread reminds me of how folks with autism tend to be particular with what they eat like that, often flat out refusing to eat alternative choices."

Yaoyorozu nodded in confirmation. "Yes, Kirishima. Itsuka actually helped me with ordering everything, and she told me that-"

Yaoyorozu was cut off when Itsuka called out, "Ah, are we a bit early for the breakfast party?" Looking over, Yaoyorozu, Izuku, and the Baku-squad all saw Itsuka lead class 1-B into the 1-A dorm building.

"We're only getting the last of the stuff in, Itsuka," Yaoyorozu answered, "We'll be ready before we know it."

Looking up at the big theater screen, Kyoka in the audience said, "I could go for an everything bagel with onion and chive cream cheese spread."

"I'll have what my apparent autistic girlfriend in this realm is having," Kirishima said, "It doesn't sound too bad."

As the girls from 1-B began to socialize with Yaoyorozu and the others, Bakugo turned to regard Pony. "Hey Pony," Bakugo greeted in a casual but clearly flirtatious tone, "Looking hot as always, I see."

Pony's classmate Kinoko turned to look at Pony, stared at her for a few moments, then turned to look at Bakugo. "...But Pony isn't on fire. How is she hot?"

The other 1-B girls had various reactions to Kinoko's confusion, but they were all understanding of her nonetheless. "Yeah, sorry if she confused any of you guys," Itsuka said to the class 1-A students, "But Kinoko tends to take metaphors literally. It has something to do with how her head is wired differently due to her autism."

"So Kinoko is the autistic girlfriend that Kirishima has in this realm," Itsuka remarked.

Clapping his hands together, Bakugo said, "I knew it!"

Izuku nodded in understanding as well. "It's okay. I kind of mess up like that as well as I'm also autistic. I understand it all too well."

"Well there's no need to worry, because we have bagels to enjoy," Kirishima remarked. Turning to look at Kinoko, Kirishima added, "Oh, Kino-chan, Yaoyorozu and Itsuka made sure to get what you like."

"The bagels don't come pre-toasted, do they?" Kinoko asked, "I don't like my bagels toasted."

"The bagel catering doesn't bring toasted bagels," Yaoyorozu explained, "If we want to toast our bagels, we'll have to do it ourselves." Kinoko let out a sigh of relief, before saying that she won't toast any bagels she has. The rest of class 1-A came down, and soon everyone was in the middle of bagel heaven.

"Sounds like my kind of heaven," Hizashi in the audience commented.

"I'm certain that the lord has bagels in heaven, Hizashi-sensei," Ibara remarked.

Sighing in a mildly exasperated tone, Monoma said, "Seriously, Ibara. Put the bible away."

"I will when you stop being mean to class 1-A."

Monoma stopped short when he realized the perfect counter that his religious classmate had just dealt to him. "...Clever girl."

"She ain't a velociraptor," Setsuna said, "But that would be totally sick if it were the case."

...

As the 1-A and 1-B students all had bagels, the 1-A girls were talking to Itsuka, Juzo, and Yosetsu. "Wow, if the power of bagels can make even Monoma put away his hate-boner for class 1-A AND make Ibara put her bible away, then we should have done the bagel thing ages ago."

"Totally," Juzo agreed. As the three 1-B students talked to the 1-A girls, Bakugo and Izuku came over.

With a mildly amused look on his face, Bakugo said to the 1-A girls, "Hey girls, Izuku needs to say something."

The girls all looked to Izuku, who gulped nervously. "...Umm," Izuku began, "Since I now know what a guy means when he refers to a girl being hot, there's something I'd like to say." Looking right at Uraraka, Izuku said, "Uraraka, I think you're very hot."

"Dudes!" Bakugo in the audience exclaimed, "Deku in this realm just confessed to Round Face!"

"Considering that this version of Izuku has autism, him taking that step must have been a very big deal for him," Tenya remarked.

"Now then," Todoroki said, "How will the Uraraka here respond?"

Giggling a bit, Uraraka said, "Thanks, Izuku. It's nice hearing that from a nice guy, and not one of the idiot jerks from either our class or 1-B."

"Idiot jerks in my class?" Itsuka said, "Ah, you mean Monoma."

"HEY!" Monoma in the audience exclaimed.

"I... I want to go out with you," Izuku said, looking really nervous and afraid he'll be rejected, "Like how Kinoko and Kirishima are dating, and what Kacchan wants to do with Pony. I-"

"Sure." Izuku stopped short when Uraraka gave her answer. She looked at Izuku, the smile on her face warm. "...To be honest, I've actually always liked you," Uraraka said, "Ever since the day I first met you, especially since you saved my life from the giant robot during the entrance exams." Uraraka squirmed a bit out of nervousness. "I've only started liking you more over time, and events like when we won the battle trial at the beginning of the year, and how we were partnered up together in the finals and passed, have only helped."

"Oh yeah, Uraraka," Mina said, "In the battle trial event at the beginning of the school year, you and Izuku were a villain team who beat the hero team of Ojiro and Mineta, and during the practical part of the finals, you and Izuku fought Hound Dog and won."

"Wait a minute," Yaoyorozu in the audience said, "Uraraka and Izuku were a hero team in the battle trial event who won against the villain team of Bakugo and Tenya, and Izuku was partnered with Bakugo against All Might for the finals practical."

"This is a different realm," Tale pointed out dryly, "Things are bound to be different."

As the students talked, Aizawa came over with Sekijiro, with Aizawa munching on a blueberry bagel. "Ah, thanks again for arranging this, Yaoyorozu," Aizawa said, "I've been wanting to tackle the damage between 1-A and 1-B that Sekijiro allowed Monoma to do."

Sighing, Sekijiro said, "Yeah, not my brightest moment as a UA teacher."

"Hey Aizawa-sensei, I've been meaning to ask," Yaoyorozu began, "Why did you choose Hound Dog as one of the teachers to take part in the practical part of the finals?"

"Well at first I thought about using All Might," Aizawa began, "Then I immediately dropped that idea on the basis that having first year students going up against fucking All Might was just asking for trouble. The man back then had no idea how to hold back, and he most likely would have caused major damage to whichever students he faced, even though he had those weights to keep him held back at least a little."

In the audience, Aizawa went a bit wide-eyed with realization. "...I made a terrible mistake."

"Gee, ya think?!" Kotaro scolded from where he stood on the stage with Tale.

Nodding in agreement, Sekijiro said, "Yeah, that wouldn't have been a rational thing for you to have done, Shouta."

Turning to look at Sekijiro, Aizawa said, "...How dare you." The students laughed, and to Uraraka's surprise Izuku kissed her on her left cheek. She blushed with embarrassment, but soon relaxed and smiled a bit. She then, after asking Izuku and he said yes, kissed him as well, drawing gentle cheers from the other students. By the end of the day, Izuku and Uraraka were an official couple.

And no, it didn't bother Uraraka that her boyfriend Izuku has autism.

FIN

"Now that was a good realm," Kotaro said. Looking at Tale who was checking something on a pad, Kotaro asked, "What's up?"

"Lego wants to run an 'Among Us' event, and asked me to bring myself and five random characters from my various realms I've crafted to take part," Tale explained.

"Will we be going on stand by again?" Spinner asked from where he sat with the other villains.

Shrugging, Tale said, "Actually, this show only has one realm left, so after that we're ending things here."

"Really?" Izuku asked, "Huh, that's kind of abrupt."

Tale nodded in agreement. "Here's hoping the last alternate version of you will be a home run."

END OF CHAPTER

Author's notes;

Yeah, I really am going to do one chapter after this. I kind of lost steam for it, and I have other works I want to finish. Anyway, I do intend to make the last one a blast, also despite the 'home run' analogy, the last chapter won't actually be about baseball.

I've got something in mind that's perfect.
