Chapter 10: Coliseum Of Surprises Part 2
-Scene Skip-
With what happened earlier in mind, I decided to take into account what I can do. But, for now… We can enjoy the Coliseum. I told the group what happened and about Emily being an ally we can trust. Somehow, Bradley of all people trusted my words wholeheartedly which made me relax a bit. I didn't need him going off the deep end, chasing after Emily. Man, I am still shook that Emily is here, as well. I mean, it had been in my mind for a while to think Emily had been alive in our world and not in this world. But, that threw me for a loop… Ah, well. While I was in my thoughts, the next match had started and Aqua's name was called. She had an excited look on her face as she rushed out onto the stage and waved to our group excitedly.
"And, with Aqua from Jubilife… We have a challenger all the way from Galar! Please welcome… Asuka Langley Shoryu from Hulbury, Galar!" Histoire called and I recoiled in shock at that. Wait, seriously? Then, from the crowd… A girl a few years older than Aqua with red hair tied in pigtails walked up to the opposite side of the stage and stared at Aqua with a nonchalant look on her face as she folded her arms.
"You don't look like much… This shouldn't take too long," Asuka said as she took an Ultra Ball off of her belt and tossed it into the air. Out pops… A Dreepy. Yeah, if she is from Galar… I expect a Galar Pokémon. And, she's from Hulbury? Man, I should ask if she knows my family? I mean, Nessa ifs a Gym Leader so…
"What the heck is that? I never seen that Pokémon before," Amanda told me as she looked at it.
"It's a Ghost/Dragon type pseudo Legendary Pokemon from Galar. It's one of the best Pokémon when it comes to sweeping potential. Back in our world, this Pokémon became the Bane of my existence whenever I play online matches since it is on EVERYONE'S team in some fashion. I hate it, really," I explained as I scratched the back of my head, "Emily loves this thing, apparently… And, loves to sweep my team whenever she wants even when I have checks for it. Oh, by the way… I am talking about its last evolution, Dragapult. Aqua don't have a good match up against Ghosts… So, she has her work cut out for her." Aqua rubbed her chin for a few seconds before snapping her fingers, making her choice.
"Evan, I need your assistance!" Aqua called as she tossed out Evan's Luxury Ball and Evan sat cross-legged on the ground, meditating as he came out of his Luxury Ball. He opened his eyes as a blue aura surrounded his body. He stood up and assumed a Karate stance as Dreepy hovered around Evan. Aqua's eyes changed to aquamarine blue and she narrowed her eyes, steeling herself. She was undergoing her Serious Mode using Aura, which meant she would take the battle seriously.
"Now, are both sides ready?" Histoire called as she looked back and forth at the 2 women.
"Yeah," Asuka said plainly as she nods her head.
"Ready and able, Miss!" Aqua called as she gave her a thumbs up.
"Right, then! LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!" Histoire called as she stepped back. I clicked on my headphones after she said that. Then, more Shady Cicada music started playing.
-Play Fighting Spirit by Shady Cicada-
"Evan, Bulk Up!" Aqua called and a red aura surrounded the blue aura that was around Evan's body as he cracked his neck.
" Shadow Sneak," Asuka said and Dreepy's Shadow connected with Evan's Shadow, allowing Dreepy to cross over to Evan and smack it across the face, knocking him onto his ass. He got back up and shook his head.
" Bone Club!" Aqua called and Evan calls out a bone quarterstaff and swings it at his side, ready to attack.
" Infestation," Asuka called as Evan raced at Dreepy and a bunch of bugs began swarming around Evan, making him try to bat away the bugs away with his staff. He brought his concentration back to Dreepy and smacked it on the head with his bone staff. Dreepy hovered away and shook its head while staring at Evan.
"Hmm, not bad. I wasn't expecting to take damage in this match. Looks like you are determined to win… Well, let's get serious. Dragon Tail," Asuka said as Dreepy swiped at Evan and knocked him into the air. He crashed to the ground and disappeared into a flash of red light. Dreepy forced a switch with Dragon Tail!
"Hey, what the heck?! I didn't call you back, Evan! What gives?!" Aqua called and Kitorn was forced to come out, "Kitorn?" Her Taillow shook his feathers out and looked back at her.
"Aqua!" I called to her and she looked over at me, " Dragon Tail forces a switch out on contact!" Aqua looked down and nods her head, processing that info. She looked up at Asuka and took a deep breath.
"Right. Time to change tactics… Kitorn, Double Team!" Aqua called and her Taillow took flight and created after images of himself around Dreepy.
"Dreepy, Swift," Asuka said calmly and Dreepy shot green stars around itself and nailed all the afterimages of Kitorn and nailed Kitorn right in the face. He righted himself in the air. Aqua smacked her cheeks at the same time, like she was regaining her composure.
"Okay. I need to focus… Contingency plans," Aqua muttered as she looked at Kitorn, "This Dreepy has that Infestation attack that can harm my Pokémon and do residual damage as long as they are on the field… But, she also has Dragon Tail to force me to switch out my Pokémon. Her plan is to wearing my Pokémon until they are hurt enough to get one-shot by another of her Pokémon if her Dreepy gets knocked out." Huh, she knew the strategy by just looking at it for the first time… That's pretty good.
"Luckily, Kitorn has the one thing that can do a hell of a lot of damage to Dreepy. Kitorn, fly in close!" Aqua called as she smirked at Asuka, who folded her arms. Kitorn flew up and Dreepy frowned, getting ready for the next attack.
"Now, Brave Bird!" Aqua called and Asuka flinched in shock as Kitorn was surrounded in a red aura which immediately switched into a blue aura around its body. It crashed into Dreepy and knocked it out in one hit, scoring a critical hit on it! Damn, son! Kitorn soared into the sky, blue sparks of electricity surrounding its body as it flinched at the recoil. It stopped and flapped its wings to hover in the air. Dreepy laid on the ground, swirls in its eyes and Asuka called it back into its Poké Ball.
"I admit… That threw me for a loop. That Taillow can't normally learn Brave Bird at an early level like that. How'd you get it to learn it?" Asuka asked her curiously as she looked at Aqua as she held Kitorn in her arms and scratched its head cutely.
"I got it in one of those Raid Dens with my friends," she said as she looked at Asuka, "I assume you know what I am talking about."
"Yeah. I didn't know there were Raid Dens in Sinnoh… I have to look into it now… But, now we get serious. I was gonna test you and see if you could see past that strategy," Asuka smirked as she brought out another Ultra Ball and tossed it out to bring out… A Corvisquire. Wow, a pretty powerful Galar Pokémon. If I didn't have Tara, that would be my Flying Type. But, I digress. The 2nd stage Galar regional bird Pokémon flew in the air and hovered a few feet away from Kitorn, who was preparing for the next bout. Aqua and Asuka smirked at each other, like they were respecting each other. Then, the BGM changed to another Shady Cicada song.
-Play Night Time Fever by Shady Cicada-
Both girls stared each other down and called out their next attacks to their birds.
" Aerial Ace! Metal Claw!" Asuka and Aqua called at the same time and their birds charged at each other, Kitorn surrounded in a white aura cone that surrounded his body and Corvisquire lunging forward with his talons at rhe ready. They clashed and flew away from each other to class again several more times. I could see that Corvisquire was slightly stronger than Kitorn and was forcing Kitorn on the back foot. Kitorn wobbled in midair, struggling to stay afloat after the last clash that they had. He panted as his body was covered in scratches. Corvisquire also had scratches on his body. Aqua bit her lip and began to think of something.
"If Kitorn is going down… Then… Kitorn, I know you can do it! Go, BRAVE BIRD!" she called as she looked up at her Taillow. He nods his head and narrowed his eyes at Corvisquire while surrounded in a red aura. He charged at Corvisquire full speed while the aura changed from red to blue.
"Just what I wanted..." Asuka muttered and I looked on in shock as Corvisquire waited for Kitorn to get in close.
"Shit!" I called. This could end badly…
" Double Team," Asuka said calmly and Corvisquire vanished into thin air, letting Kitorn race past him.
"Kitorn, realign yourself in midair!" Aqua called and Kitorn stopped his flight and turned around wide to look around at the multiple Corvisquire clones that surrounded him.
"Now, Swift!" Asuka called. Corvisquire shot off multiple stars at Kitorn and nailed its target, KO'ing the small bird and knocking it to the ground, scoring a critical hit. Ouch… Kitorn laid on the ground, swirls in his eyes as he weakly cooed. Aqua went over to him and checked on him. His eyes went back to normal and he looked up at Aqua sadly.
"It's okay. You did wonderfully for your first battle, Kitorn. Rest easy for now and let Evan and Jack handle the rest, okay?" Aqua told him softly and he cooed again, nudging her hand as she pets him. She returned him to his Ball and went back to her side of the field, pulling out her next ball. She looked at it and took a deep breath, nodding her head.
"Jack, I need you now more than ever. Let's do this!" she said and tossed out Jack's Luxury Ball. Her Starter came out and did a proud stance, ready to battle. He looked up at the sky and saw the Corvisquire as it came down to land on the ground. It stared at him and tilted his head to the side. Jack waved to him and smiled at him. He then brought out his scalchop and held it out at his side, as if he were drawing a sword.
"She still has Evan in the back. Why didn't she go for him? He is her heaviest hitter, after all…" Amanda said as she raised an eyebrow.
"Because despite being her heaviest hitter, he is still Fighting type. And, Aqua knows that if Evan goes down and Jack gets one-shot, she is gonna lose. But, for that reason… Whenever she brings in Jack, things tend to work out," Weiss's voice said beside me and I looked back and saw her walk up beside me and Severa trotting at her side.
"You decided to stay and watch after all," I said to her and she looked at me with a smile.
"Well, yes… I did miss your battle. I heard you won," Weiss told me as she looked at me and I nodded my head, "Not bad."
"Thanks," I told her, "So, you can tell she got a little better?"
"Traveling with you seemed to help her improve quite a bit, actually. Coming up with strategies on the fly was her Forte, though… Even if they were haphazardly planned out," Weiss told me as we watched the battle. Jack was using Aqua Jet to get in close to Corvisquire and crash into it, knocking it to the ground, KO'ing it instantly! Well, she got her revenge KO for Kitorn. Jack lands on the ground and pats his chest confidentially. Asuka smiled as she called back her Corvisquire.
"This is actually a great battle. That Oshawott of yours is pretty strong. You raised it well," Asuka told her and Aqua smiled as she rubbed the back of her head, "All the more reason to win this battle. I don't intend on losing this battle."
"Me either. Bring it!" Aqua smirked as she pumped her fist out in front of her. Asuka pulls out a Great Ball out from behind her and tossed it out onto the field. Out pops… A Thwackey?! Well, that's to be expected if she is from Galar. But, jeez!
"A Thwackey?! Wow, a Galar Starter!" Lola said as she pops out from her Poké Ball. I flinched as I looked down at her. She covered her mouth and realized that she spoke.
"Did your Scorbunny just talk?" Weiss asked me as she looked down at Lola.
"Yes. Yes, she did," I sighed as I slapped my forehead.
"Well, I shouldn't be surprised… There are a few Pokémon that can speak the human language, in fact… In history, there were about maybe… 7 Pokémon that can talk. One of them was a legendary," she said and I looked at her, "We can talk about that later… Look." She pointed back to the battle and I looked back to see Jack and Thwackey dueling with their respective weapons of choice: Jack with his scalchop and Thwackey with his sticks.
"Hit it with Branch Poke!" Asuka called and Thwackey smacked Jack across the face with the right branch and knocked him to the ground. Jack shook his face and shook his head while dodging out of the way of the branch.
"Jack, I know you got this! Keep going!" Aqua called to her Oshawott and he stood up and stared at Thwackey, who motioned for him to come on. Jack got a serious look on his face and let out a battle cry and started to glow! What?! Jack's evolving!
"Jack?!"
"Aqua, Jack's evolving!" I called and she looked over at me and then back at Jack, who grew a few inches and grew whiskers on his face while still in his glow. Then, the glow disappeared and he had evolved into Dewott! I quickly pulled out my PokéDex and looked at it, scanning Jack as he grabbed his scalchops and swung them around quickly. He took a stance and glared at Thwackey.
" Dewott, the Discipline Pokémon. As a result of strict training, each Dewott learns different forms using its scalchops. This Dewott has learned the following moves: Sacred Sword, Aerial Ace, Swords Dance, and Cut (Steel Type version), " PokéDex explained as I looked at the PokéDex. Wow! Sacred Sword?! And, Cut has different type variants?! This definitely has rom hack written all over it.
"Jack, good job on evolving! We can win now!" Aqua said with a bright smile. Jack smirked back at her and then looked back at Thwackey, who was getting excited over this development. Asuka then… Broke out in laughter.
"I admit, that also threw me for a loop. Again, you are really surprising me here, girl. But, don't think this is the end… Let's give the people a show!" Asuka called as she clenched her fists.
-Change to Until My Bones Shatter By Shady Cicada-
"Trust me… I intend to win! Jack, use Cut!" Aqua called and Jack brought out his left scalchop and a blade of energy grew from the blade.
"Thwackey, use Leaf Blade!" Asuka called and Thwackey held out his right branch and it sharpened into a blade of grass. They clashed their weapons with each other and a loud Clang! Was heard. They pushed down on each other and forced each other in the opposite direction, making each other skid to a stop. They glared at each other and smirked as Aqua and Asuka had smirks on their faces. I think Aqua found a new rival.
" Sacred Sword!/Leaf Blade!" both girls called at the same time. Jack and Thwackey charged at each other and clashed their weapons again, gritting their teeth as they did so. This was really intense, and I kinda like it. Then, Jack let out a battle cry and used his left scalchop to knock Thwackey's right branch into the air. He then coats his left scalchop with water and gave Aqua a sideways glance. She knew what he wanted…
" RAZOR SHELL!" Aqua yelled at the top of her lungs and he forced Thwackey back and cleaved through Thwackey in the blink of an eye, landing behind Thwackey and sheathed both his scalchops while standing up straight. Thwackey fell on his back with swirls in his eyes and Asuka looked on with a smile on her face while walking up to her Galar Grass Starter. Aqua raced over to her Dewott and wrapped him in a big hug, in which Jack returned with a goofy smile on his face.
"You were soooo cool! I'm so proud of you, Jack! You always come through for me in a pinch, no matter what!" Aqua said excitedly as she rubbed her cheek against his cheek. Jack chuckled and rubbed her cheek against his cheek. She also called out Kitorn and Evan out of their Poké Balls and hugged them too.
"Of course, you both were amazing. We will go far if we keep up our rhythm!" Aqua told them and they smiled at her. We cheered for Aqua as she looked up at Asuka when Asuka came over to her and held out her hand for Aqua to shake it. Aqua stood up and shook Asuka's hand.
"I was definitely wrong about you, girl. You are one hell of a trainer… Are you collecting Gym Badges?" Asuka asked her and Aqua shook her head, "You aren't?"
"Nah, my friend is," she said, pointing to me, "I am actually from a school in Jubilife City. I am traveling with him to see the world through my own eyes. Experience is the best teacher, after all…"
"And, with the way you battled… You have potential, you know. I'd say you've made the right choice, going with him," Asuka told her and Aqua rubbed the back of her head, "Well, I am off to Eterna. This was a great experience… But, I need to get back to collecting Gym Badges. When we meet again, let's have a battle. I wanna see your progress."
"Deal!" Aqua said excitedly, probably due to the fact that she made another rival and friend, "Good luck on your journey!" Asuka smirked and walked off, waving bye to Aqua before disappearing into the crowd. Aqua came over to me with Jack at her heels, hopping up and down excitedly. I pat her on the head and smiled at her.
"Not bad, girl. I was not expecting Jack to just pull that out of his back pocket," I joked and she smirked, putting her hands on her hips. Jack followed her example and also puffed out his chest.
"Tis nothing for the Auric known as Aqua!" Aqua proclaimed and I sighed at that. We need to have a talk about that…
"Well, we will take a scheduled break after that battle to have our next 2 contestants prepare accordingly. Our next battle will resume after 30 minutes!" Histoire called as she stepped back onto the battlefield. The crowd slightly dispersed and my group met up with each other along with a few extras, like Noire, Weiss, and Ruby.
"I am a bit sad Weiss lost in the first round… But, she kinda got screwed in the placings there," Ruby said honestly and I had to agree with her. Bradley has plot armor up the ass… So, it is to be expected.
"I wonder who is the next battle gonna be," Ranma said as she and I along with Amanda sat down on a bench. Revy stood back from the group and took out a cigarette to smoke.
"You mind sparing a cigarette, miss?" a voice said besides her and she glanced over and saw a black haired girl wearing a white dress shirt with black shorts wearing a heart shaped backpack on her back. She was accompanied by a Grovyle, who had a twig hanging from his mouth. She looked a lot like…
"You old enough to smoke, girl?" Revy asked her coldly and the girl gave her a stink eye, "Whatever. Here, don't choke on it."
"Thanks. I need it," she said seriously as she pulled out a silver lighter with a logo of a skull and crossbones on the side of the lighter and lit the end of the cigarette. She took a smoke and sighed with relief.
"That's the stuff. Thanks, lady… Now, to find Kyoko. I swear, she runs off and does her own thing every time we leave River City." River City? She's from River City? Oh, now I recognize her! She's Misako from the River City games! Holy shit, why didn't I think of that before? River City, was it that obvious that it stated me in the face?! Her Grovyle stared at me and blinked in confusion.
"Hey, Kyoko… Isn't that the guy you were looking for? The same guy that was around the Satome family when her father disappeared?" Grovyle spoke and we all stared at him in shock.
"Satome?" I muttered as I looked over at Ranma and she stared at Misako in shock.
"MISAKO?!" Ranma screamed in shock as she stood up immediately, finally acknowledging Misako's presence, "You're here, too?!" Misako looked at Ranma and gasped.
"Ranma!" she said as Ranma tackled her to the ground, "Ow, shit!! You tackle hard, girl… How are you? It's been a few months, huh?" Ranma got off of Misako and giggled as she and Misako sat up and looked at each other.
"Yeah. Hey, your Grovyle said something about Jamie… Were you looking for him for some reason?" Ranma asked her and Misako nods her head and looked at me while standing up.
"Actually, I was seeking you out for a while… James Scott. You can call me Misako… I am a Ki user, as well," she said as she held out her hand to me. I slowly shook it and she chuckled at that.
"You don't need to be afraid to shake my hand, dude. I only bite people I dislike… My best friend, Kyoko, is more the type to hug you out of nowhere," she continued as we shook hands, "I actually was taught under Mr. Satome when I was younger alongside Kyoko to deal with some bullies of hers, Hasabe and Mami. Both of us moved to River City 3 years ago and met Ranma and her father again a few months before he went missing." Ah, so that explains why I am meeting her for the first time… I wish Ranma would have told me that.
"Okay, I think I understand. Well, I think I will let my friends introduce themselves," I said in a friendly manner and everyone introduced themselves to Misako and her Grovyle.
"Hey. Just call me Misako… This is my buddy, Blade," she said as she points to her Grovyle. It was then that I noticed something hanging off her backpack: an Ocarina.
"You're a Guardian, too?" I said to her and she spots the Ocarina of my backpack.
"Yep. That is another reason I was looking for you… Guardians stick together," Misako told me, "In fact, it was to also help you. If a Guardian were to ever be incapacitated in any way, another Guardian can come help them out. At least that is what my dad told me before he left out of my life when I was younger." Really? That carried over here, too? I remember putting that in my story, too!
"Man, that would have come in handy so much earlier…" I muttered as I began thinking about the gap in my memory. I can feel Him just foaming at the mouth at that thought.
"Misakooooo! Where are you?!" a voice called to her as I looked behind me to see a blond haired girl with a ponytail in her hair walking around with a Marshtomp following behind her. The girl wore a blue and white Letterman Jacket over a white dress shirt with a red tie around her neck, a black pleaded skirt that stopped at her upper thighs, pink Band-Aids all over her knees, white socks that stopped at her knees, and blue sneakers. Yep, Kyoko is here too.
"Hey, Kyoko! Over here!" Misako called and Kyoko looked over in our direction. She rushed over to her and stopped in front of her with her Marshtomp trotting behind her.
"You disappeared on me again, girl. Least you can do is either have a bell on you or tell me where you are going," Misako told her and Kyoko pouted at her cutely.
"Don't be mean, Misako! Wait, is that Ranma?!" Kyoko said as she looked at Ranma.
"Hey, Kyoko… It has been a long while, huh?" Ranma smiled and Kyoko hugs Ranma, "How are things with you and Riki?" Misako visibly flinched at that and Kyoko slowly pulls away from Ranma.
"I assume not well from that reaction from Misako," I muttered as I glanced at her, "Bad breakup?"
"You can say that again. Cheated on her and the confrontation was… Well, let's just say we aren't allowed in Vannolite Ice Cream Parlor anymore due to her beating the shit out of the girl he cheated on her with," Misako muttered to me and Ranma looked at her in sympathy as she heard Misako.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to…" Ranma said and Kyoko sighed while shaking her head while holding her hand up to stop her.
"It's okay. I am still sore about it, but I am getting over him. I just wish I'd just find a boy who can like me for me without going out of their way to cheat on me, you know?" Kyoko said with a sad smile. Oof, I feel bad.
"Well, screw that guy. You got us to keep you company! The 3 Musketeers strike again!" Ranma smiled as she pumps her fist out in front of her.
"You always find the best out of everything, huh?" Kyoko giggled as she looked at her, "So, what are you doing nowadays?"
"Traveling with my friends, looking for my dad," Ranma told her and I glanced at Misako as Kyoko and Ranma caught up with each other.
"So, Misako… Are you collecting Badges? Or are you still in school?" I asked her and she nods her head while pulling out a silver Badge Case and showed me a Coal Badge on the inside of the case.
"Got one Badge so far. Was on my way to Eterna to take on Gardenia," Misako told me and I nodded my head, "You?" I showed her my Badge and nodded my head.
"Got mine a few days ago, myself," I told her and she nods her head.
"Nice," she told me and I chuckled at that.
"So, how long have you had your Ocarina? It seems like it has just been activated," Misako continued as she pointed at my Ocarina.
"Honestly, a few weeks. In actuality, since I started my journey back when I was 12," I said and she raised an eyebrow. She then widened her eyes at me.
"You have 2 souls in your body, don't you?" Misako said and I nearly choked at that, "I can tell how many souls a person have in them. Plus, your energies are mixed… So, I kinda guessed. I'm right, huh?" I sighed and nodded my head.
"Reincarnation?"
"You are good at guessing," I muttered and she smirked at me.
"I'm smarter than I look, dude. Look, I am great at keeping secrets," Misako told me as she leaned into my ear, "Your girlfriend over there has 2 souls too, right? Her energy signature is similar to yours, all jumbled up."
"How are you able to see that?" I told her and realized something. Ki Sight!
"Ki Sight, of course. The ability to see an energy signature and a person's soul, no matter if they are living or deceased," Misako told me and I blinked in shock. That sounds pretty useful…
" Wow. Wish I knew that earlier. My parents never really elaborated that to me," I said to myself and she folded her arms while smirking at me.
"They probably knew very little about it, James," Misako said and I stared at her in shock. Did… Did she hear him?
"You can hear him?" I asked her and she nods her head.
"Ki Sight is very versatile, in fact," Misako said as she took a drag from her cigarette, "I am very adept at it since I was about 7 years old. Ki is MUCH more useful than Aura, in my honest opinion. And, I remember that most Guardians are usually paired up with Crimson Demons to train themselves properly." Huh? Is that what Megumin meant about her history?
"I met a Crimson Demon. She is collecting Gym Badges right now as well," I told her and she raised an eyebrow at that.
"Oh, really? Is she a purebred Crimson Demon? Did she have a Fire Type accompanying her?" she asked me and I nodded my head. Wait, purebred?
"You were a Guardian this whole time?" Megumin's voice said from beside me as she walked up beside me and points to my Ocarina, "Why didn't you tell me?" I glanced at her and held my hand over my heart, startled that she appeared out of nowhere again.
"Don't do that, woman! You startled me… Yeah. Sorry, I still have some amnesia lingering around in my brain," I told her and Misako raised an eyebrow at that.
"Ah, I see what's going on. Amnesia is problematic for a Guardian," Misako said and placed a hand on my forehead, "Hold still. I am gonna take a dive inside." She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. My vision went fuzzy and I shuddered as I sat back down. She knelt in front of me and didn't say another word.
"What…" Amanda said as she came over to us. I held out my hand slowly to her, motioning her to wait as Misako took a look around in my mind. After what seemed like a few minutes, she took a drag from her cigarette and cleared her throat while opening her eyes.
"Damn… Some pretty heavy shit going on in there. But, I found a few missing pieces of your memory. It's the best I could do… Take a look and see what you can learn," Misako told me as she stared at me. I blinked and looked at Amanda before closing my eyes. My memories played back in my head and I found a few pieces of memory planted there. It was from the missing 3 years, in fact… As well as a memory from when I met Vert and Bradley in Orre.
-Scene Skip; Several Years Ago; Flashback; Orre Region; Phenac City; Rose Residence-
Nessa and I followed behind our father as we walked through the desert oasis like town of Phenac City, searching for a longtime friend of my father's that lived in this town. I think their name was something like… Wakeman or something like that. Said something about needing a favor from that person… And, he wanted to show us the sights of Orre. Bolt, my Pikachu, trotted at my side as I looked around at the bustling city around us. I was about 7 at this point of my life, I think… So, I was naïve to the world around me. Nessa, who was 10 at this point, had a Chewtle in her arms while sticking by my left side and was pretty much keeping me safe.
"Hey, daddy… Are we there yet?" Nessa asked him and he glanced back at us with a small smile.
"Just a bit longer, you 2. We are looking for a red stone house with a blue roof. Shouldn't be that hard to find out here," Dad told us and I spotted a red house with a blue roof to our left and I pointed to the left of us.
"Is that it, Dad?" I asked him and he looked to our left and smiled.
"Yeah, that's it. Good eye, James," he told me while rubbing his hand through my hair and I chuckled at him happily. He led us to the house and knocked on the door when we went up to the door. A few seconds passed and a woman with white hair styled in an updo and wore a bright yellow trench trenchcoat from what I could see from my spot, hiding behind my dad. I do remember being very shy at this age…
"Miss Noreen, nice to see you again. I want to introduce you to my kids, James and Nessa," my father said as he motioned to Nessa and myself. Nessa shyly waves to the woman while I hid behind my dad again. She looked at us and then back at my father.
"Well, you didn't come all this way to show me you started a family, did you Jared?" she said with a snarky smirk on her face. He scoffed at that and nodded his head.
"Not the only reason. Look, I wanted to ask you about your… 'Unique situation about Jennifer. How is she?" Dad told her and I looked up at him. The woman sighed and rubbed her forehead.
"I… I don't know what else I can do. Come in and we can talk about it," she said and he nods his head while ushering me and Nessa inside. Bolt hops on my shoulders and Chewtle playfully nibbled on Nessa's blouse. She rubbed his head and he smiled at her. Dad sat us down on a white couch and the woman sat across from us while Dad sat in between Nessa and me. Bolt hops on my lap and got comfy on my lap.
"As I was saying… Jenny hasn't been in the best of health since her… Accident. I put all my time and resources as a scientist to try and fix her… But, I don't know what else to do. It's like I hit a brick wall…" she said seriously while taking her glasses off of her face and rubbing her eyes, "That's why I called you, Jared… Nothing scientific will work. Do you have any sort of medical assistance you can provide with… Your abilities?" Dad looked at the woman and looked like he was thinking about something. I looked back and forth at my father and the woman.
"Unfortunately, there isn't much I can do… Alone. There is a way to save your daughter's life, Noreen. But, I need an experienced Auric's assistance," Dad said seriously and the woman looked up at him with hope on her face.
"Then, it's a good thing I didn't just call you here today…" she said as she looked to the hallway that led to more rooms of the house, "I do have an Auric here, checking on her right now. She is quite young… But, at her age she is a very experienced Auric. The only other Auric that has that much experience is that Riley person that lives in Sinnoh, and I can't get a hold of him. And, I have no idea how to get a hold of another Ki Expert like yourself. If anything, I got lucky." Dad sighed and nodded his head.
"In other words, if I couldn't help you… You have a contingency plan," he told her and she looked away, "I understand. If any of my children got into what happened with your daughter, then I would do everything in my power to ensure their survival. To do this, we would need about 3 days of constant healing and we need to be in a meditated state. Understood?" The woman nods her head quickly as she stood up quickly.
"Please, Jared… Save my daughter," she said and Dad stood up slowly while patting us on the head, "I can provide rooms for your kids to sleep in."
"Dad? What's going on?" I asked him and he knelt in front of me, patting me on the head.
"Miss Wakeman is gonna be babysitting you for a few days while Daddy is gonna save someone's life," he told me and I looked at him in wonder, "Nessa, make sure you take care of your brother. Okay?" Nessa looked at him, as if she understood. Did she know why we were here? Then, a girl about 13 walked into the room with long shoulder length blonde hair and green eyes, staring at the woman with a serious look on her face.
"We need to start immediately if we are to save her life," she said and a boy about my age with a Pichu sitting on his head, holding a Ukulele on his back followed behind the girl. The girl looked at my father and blinked a few times.
"Ah, Vert. This is Mr. Naoko, a Ki Expert. He will be helping you with the procedure," the woman said as she motioned to my father, "And, these are his kids James and Nessa." Vert stared at us and then back at the woman.
"We can introduce ourselves later. I don't know how long she has until it's too late…" Vert said seriously and Dad furrowed his brow.
"Then, let's not waste anymore time. I'll follow you," Dad told her and Vert nods her head and turned around to walk back into the hallways. Dad quickly followed behind the girl and Nessa and I looked at each other while the boy stood in the middle of the hallway, not sure what to do as he swayed side to side with his Pichu on his head.
"Why don't you have a seat here, Bradley? I will go talk with them and see what they need. I made some milk and cookies for you all to eat and drink," the woman said kindly.

Whoa, that was trippy. Why did I get a Flashback like that? Maybe Vert can give me some answers on that… I rubbed my head and looked at Misako as Lola hops onto my head and looked down at me.
"So, what's going on here? Am I missing much?" Lola asked me and I chuckled at her.
"Well, I will catch you up in a minute. I need to talk with Vert… And, Bradley too. I think I might have found out a way to fix Kitty," I said seriously as I looked up at her. Amanda and Misako had confused looks on their faces as I walked past them and went over to Vert and Bradley as they stuck together. They noticed me coming over to them and smiled as I stood in front of them.
"What's up, James? You look concerned," Bradley told me and I sighed.
"I wanna know something… When we first met, there was a woman who we stayed with. Her name was Noreen Wakeman, right? What happened with her daughter?" I asked them and they looked at each other before answering me. It unnerved me that they hesitated before answering me.
"Well, her daughter was in a pretty big event that happened a year prior to that called the Axis Point," Vert told me and I raised an eyebrow at that, "A creature from another world attacked Jennifer and critically injured her to the point that she could not walk or talk. I was called by Miss Noreen to heal the girl… But, there was not much I could do. All I could really do is return her speech and nothing else…" Axis Point? What the hell is that?
"Axis Point?" I asked and Vert nods her head.
"Well, Miss Noreen told me that she found a Ki Expert in the Galar region that could help in Jennifer's recovery. So, that was when we met you…" Vert told me and I nodded my head.
"So, did she survive?" I asked her cautiously, worried that I might be wrong.
"She survived, of course… But, she is gonna be wheelchair bound for the rest of her life. She was paralyzed from the waist down, unfortunately… It was the best we could do for her with the time period we had," Vert said and I scratched the back of my head.
"So, a mixture of Ki and Aura can heal someone from a critical condition?" I asked her seriously. She gave me a look and understood what I was getting at.
"The effects can vary, honestly… Why are you asking that?" Vert asked me and I looked off to the side, going into deep thought.
"I may have a solution for Kitty… But, we would need several days to do it. And, I can't call my dad to come here, so I would have to do it," I told her and she shook her head.
"Even if that were the case, you would need a healing chamber to keep Kitty in. And, there isn't many of them to go around," Vert told me and I glanced at her in confusion, "Those aren't mass produced, like Poké Balls."
"I have heard of the Yayorozu family having a few in their pharmaceutical company in River City. Besides, the city isn't called the City Of Brawls for nothing," Misako told Vert, "All we need to do is get a healing chamber and have either you or your brother and either me or James do the Auric Ki Rejuvenation Enchantment. We can do what we need to do and help Kitty."
"Yeah, buy there is still a looming problem… The varying effect. What if it makes Kitty's condition worse?" I said worriedly, "If anything else happens to her, I will die by Cynthia's hands. I promised that I would keep her safe along with Bradley…"
"I'll do it," Bradley told me suddenly, making me look at him in surprise. I wasn't expecting him to go along with it that easily.
"Look, I am afraid of the varying effects… But, if it is to help Kitty… Then, what choice do we have?" Bradley told me as he folded his arms across his chest.
"Fair point. Okay, so we have a plan… Now, the next thing. How are we gonna acquire one of these of these machines?" I said as I looked at them, "I doubt that the Yayorozu family is just gonna give those out willingly and I ain't gonna steal it…"
"You could just call me and ask me," a voice said behind me and I stopped as well as Amanda as a girl with black hair styled in a spiky ponytail walked up behind me and folded her arms under her breasts, "We are family friends, after all…" I looked behind me and gasped. It was MOMO YAYOROZU. Dawg, This is like something out of an anime. How do I even know Momo? Well, thank God for Me. Apparently, another piece of my memory from Orre showed Momo and her unnamed father appearing and working on a healing chamber for Jennifer Wakeman as Dad and Vert helped heal her. I met Momo during that time and we actually became friends… Huh, go figure. In fact, another tidbit about this world: Quirks are a thing. Well, to a certain extent. You see, in this world: Quirks originate from humans learning how to use Pokémon Moves. Quirks like Electrify come from humans learning how to use Electric-Type Moves; but, it has a negative effect like shorting out their brain cells, just like with Denki Kaminari. Well, Quirks like Creation actually is hereditary, which is from the Yayorozu family and are learned from Pokémon that can transform or can use the move Present. However, One For All is a mystery, just like the anime and what I expected.
"Oh… Well, this is a surprise. Hi, Momo," I told her as I scratched the back of my head, "This is gonna be an awkward conversation…" Erica suddenly teleports in front of my face and I was taken aback for a second before hugging her in my arms. Vergil teleports on my head and waves to Momo.
"Hello, Vergil. How are you?" Momo told him and he smiled at her. She know Vergil?! Wait, let me think… Oh, that's interesting. Vergil originally belonged to Momo and she gave me Vergil as a present for my birthday.
"I wasn't expecting to run into you here, Momo…" I told her and she giggled as she shook her head. Vergil teleports onto her shoulder and I tilted my head to the side as he rubs his face against her cheek.
"Don't worry about it. I heard a little of your conversation… You know that if you need anything, you can just call me," Momo told me with a smile.
"Well, that's what I wanted to talk to you about…" I told her and she raised an eyebrow. I motioned for her to sit down beside me and she and I sat down to talk. After our conversation, she had wide eyes and a concerned look on her face as she looked at Bradley.
"I see… Well, when the Coliseum is over, my limos can escort you to River City immediately and we can start on the procedure that will surely help Kitty," she told me seriously as she tilts her head to the side. I nodded my head at that and stood up.
"Thanks, Momo. This can help us immensely," I told her and the rest of the group came up to us to meet our newest additions. It was then I noticed that we had quite a large group of friends with us. Huh, well that's interesting… I dig it. Then, we heard Histoire's voice coming from the battlefield.
"Can I get everyone's attention over here?" Histoire called from the battlefield, "Now that the break is over, we can get back to our regularly scheduled battles-"
"Yeah, no… Let me put a moratorium on that!" a voice called from above us. What the fuck? I looked up and saw a large blimp with a huge black Balloon with the logo PHK etched on the side of the Balloon floating above the crowd. Oh my God… Why now? These idiots don't get the hint, do they? I thought Emily warned these idiots to stay away. Are they that interested on this place? Kitty froze in sheer horror as she looked up at the logo and Bradley and I gritted our teeth in rage and anger. Bradley got in front of Kitty protectively as I moved Erica into my bag, keeping her safe. She hid her head in my bag as Alexis and Lola rushed to my sides and got ready for battle. Then, my phone started ringing and I scrunched up my face in confusion as I looked down at my pockets. Amanda and Ranma looked at me in confusion as I pulled it out and answered it.
"Hello?" I said in visible confusion.
" Sorry for calling you on such short notice. Thank God I have your original number etched in my brain," Emily's voice said on the other line and I looked at Amanda, " Those blowhards decided to not heed my warning and decided to try and get revenge on what happened earlier. They are solely targeting you… God, these guys are a pain in the ass to keep under wraps…" Ah, damn it. Well, I could have predicted that… Looks like I am gonna have to handle this personally.
"Is there any way to lead them away?" I asked her and Amanda leaned in towards the phone to listen better.
" No. They are pretty stubborn bastards… You will have to rely on brute force. Looks like they sent in the Honor Guard, a rank higher than the peons you dealt with earlier. They are trained in martial arts, so be careful," Emily told me, " I trained them, after all… Not proud of it, let me tell you…" Well, that's a problem… Emily was a 3rd degree black belt in her previous life, so a bunch of men and women knowing that will be a bit of a hassle. But, I have a bunch of friends who can definitely fight hand to hand.
"No Pokémon battling?" I asked seriously and some of the group looked at me.
" Well, not straight fighting with a few of them. They have mainly Fighting Type Pokémon; so Flying, Psychic, or Fairy Types would mess them up good. I can't really interfere since you know… But, you have told your friends about me already?" Emily told me and I smirked.
"Yeah, don't worry. Thanks for the update," I told Emily and I heard a chuckle on the other line.
" I will kick their asses later… But, I will bail them out when you beat their asses. Good luck, and do me a favor… Don't get hurt too bad," Emily said and I snorted at that.
"No promises," I replied and I heard the distinct sound of her laugh.
" I'm serious… I might spill their blood if they remotely hurt you," Emily said and I nodded my head.
"I got more than enough coverage, Em… Believe that," I told her with a smile, "Gotta go."
" See ya, Brother," Emily said and hung up. I put my phone away and looked at my friends.
"We got a big event on our hands. To those who can't fight without their Pokémon, stay back. To those who can fight hand to hand, get ready… We are about to go to war, defending this town," I told them seriously and my friends agreed. Then, we heard some thuds and we looked ahead and saw several men and women dressed in the Poke Haters Klan garb had landed while I was talking to Emily on the phone. Then, 2 individuals landed in the large group of men and women. A girl with dirty blonde hair and a male with short black hair with half his face covered in stitches were the 2 that landed in the middle of the group. Oh, come on… Yeah, that's Dabi and Toga. Toga took one look at me and squealed.
"You're the boy from the Oreburgh Gate video! The one with the out of control Steelix!" she said and I couldn't help but actually gulp. If Toga has her Quirk, we might have a problem…
"Oreburgh Gate video?" Bradley asked me and I scrunched up my face.
"I'll tell you later," I told him and Amanda stepped forward in front of me.
"Toga… He is my boyfriend. Back off," Amanda told Toga and Toga gasped again.
"Mandy, how are you? I wasn't expecting to run into you so soon!" Toga said with a smile and pulled out a switchblade, "If you could just step out of the way, I can collect some delicious blood from him…"
"Wow. You really do attract ALL the pussy," Revy said with a mischievous smirk on her face.
"NOT HELPING, REVY," I said to her through gritted teeth.
"Well, you do attract all types…" Revy joked and I groaned at that.
"I'm going to punch you when this is over…" I muttered and she snorted.
"She is so getting this work…" Amanda said seriously as she looked back at me.
"Not from me, obviously… You remember when we discussed about her Quirk back in Oreburgh?" I told her softly and she frowned.
"Ah, that's right… Hmm, what do you want to do?" Amanda said as she looked ahead.
"I take Dabi and you and Ranma tag team Toga," I suggested and she gave me a confused look, "Trust me, this is a better course of action. If Toga tries to do anything, Revy can interfere and snipe her."
"I like that plan," Revy said with a smirk.
"We can handle the cronies," Blanc offered as she looked at me, pulling out her large hammer, "We got your back, James. Promise."
"Bradley, you take Kitty and hide her. Don't want any of these jack-offs try any hostage situations again," I told him seriously and he nods his head in agreement, "Vert, Misako, Kyoko… Keep him company."
"Aww…" Kyoko said.
"Before you start, Kyoko… I understand the planning he is doing. We will keep them safe," Blade stated as he took a twig in his mouth and nods to me.
"He can talk?! Cool!" Lola said and saluted to him, "Nice to meet a fellow translator!" I sighed and prepared myself. I turned to Dabi and walked up beside Amanda.
"Hey, stitches! You guys here for me, right?" I called and Dabi glanced at me without any emotion. It slightly unnerved me but I kept my composure.
"That would be correct. You have some history with my boss, Hoyt… As well as the girl behind the Indigo Champion. We are here for you both," Dabi told me and I gave him a serious glare. Kitty hid fully behind Bradley, trembling up something fierce. I looked back at Bradley as he tried to comfort her. I looked ahead and called out the sword from my bag and spun it at my right side for show.
"Yeah, no… You got me here. Let's not involve anyone else… I intend for you to not take anyone I care about away from me again. You assholes took a lot from us… We ain't gonna let that happen again," I said as I held the sword at my side. Despite not having much training with a sword, I needed to stay calm.
"Figured we would run into resistance," Dabi said nonchalantly as he ran his left hand through his hair, "We can do this the easy way, or the hard way. Your choice."
"Not changing my mind, no matter what," I snarled as I shook my head. The sword was surrounded in a white aura as I brought it in front of me and pointed it at Dabi.
"You want us? Come and try to take us… I guarantee you, fuck it up…" I told him and suddenly a blue fireball was shot towards me. I subconsciously slashed the blue fireball in half and it exploded on contact, making me step back in shock.
"And, you'll regret it? Was that what you were gonna say?" Dabi said seriously as blue fireballs surrounded his head. Yeah, that's different from the anime… Well, there was a reason for that. Out of nowhere, 2 Lampent surrounded the flames and hovered around Dabi.
"Kinda," I said as I stood up straight and walked ahead of the group "Cutting off my speech was kinda rude, though."
"I heard that type of speech a few times before… Killed all those who said it, though," Dabi said venomously, "Even the fucker who Scarred my face."
"Then, let's skip the small talk and get to the main event," I said seriously, " Sucker Punch." Then, Lola reappeared in front of the Lampent and double kicks them away from Dabi and lands in front of him. She hops backwards away from him just as he shot a blue fireball at her. She lands in front of me and looked up at me and gave me a thumbs up.
"Cheeky," he said and rushed at me. Right then, the war for Honore began. I quickly then played some BGM for the occasion, and my phone knew exactly what to play.

Ducking under a Swipe from his hand, I swept him off his feet with a Low Sweep and kicked him away from me quickly, causing him to be launched back several feet. Ever since I unlocked my Ki channel, I got stronger. Dabi quickly got to his feet and shot several blue fireballs at me. I quickly held my left hand out and summoned up a red Ki shield in front of me, making the fireballs hit the shield and explode on contact.
"Lola, get behind me!" I told her quickly and she got on my left shoulder, "Lex, divert the fire! Shock Wave!" Alexis quickly ran out behind me and her fur sparked and several large blue bolts of electricity shot out from behind the shield and collided with the fireballs, canceling them out.
" Shadow Ball," Dabi called and both downed Lampent got back up and shot multiple black balls at my shield. I quickly ran out of the way with Alexis at my heels, shooting more bolts at the balls and shorting them out. I quickly leaped over a small stack of hay and hid behind another barrel. I stopped and pulled out Wukong's Poké Ball. I called him out and he swung his fists out.
"Wait for my signal with Alexis. Lola, I need you to use as many Embers as you can, making him keep his attention on you," I instructed and they nodded. I could hear the other battles taking place and know that this will not be easy to pull off.
"Roger that, boss!" Lola said as she saluted and rushed out, spitting some small fireballs in the direction of Dabi and the 2 Lampent. That won't take long, and we had a little window. I waited for a few seconds and rolled out of my cover, shooting a yellow Ki orb in Dabi's direction. He was slightly distracted by Lola but he noticed that I came out of cover. He shot a blue fireball at the orb of Ki and the 2 attacks canceled each other out. I quickly sent out Tara to have her carry me into the air by digging her talons into my jacket hood, knowing that she can keep me in the air for a prolonged period of time. She flew out of range of Dabi's fireballs and I shot off a red Ki fireball of my own at him. It collides with another of his blue fireballs and Tara shot off some Swift stars at him. One of his Lampent deflected the stars using Protect and I quickly gave Wukong a signal, whistling to him and he dug underground. Alexis ran out of cover and shot off multiple Shock Wave bolts at the Lampent. Dabi calmly deflects the bolts with his blue fireballs and fired off more fire at Alexis. Lola absorbed the damage, getting in the way quickly and making sure that Alexis didn't get hurt. However, Lola sustained some heavy damage from it and rolled to a stop several feet away from Alexis.
" LOLA! " I yelled in horror as I looked at my Scorbunny. Then, I heard a hard THWACK as I glanced back and saw Wukong dig up from under Dabi's feet and get a mean right uppercut, knocking him off his feet. He looked royally pissed that Lola took a big hit like that. Dabi crashed to the ground, Blood starting to drop from his chin and Wukong roared in anger at him, landing next to him. Then, he was hit in the back by a Dark Pulse and crashed to the ground. He rolled to a stop, getting upright quickly and glared at a Houndoom that was standing there on all fours, glaring at Wukong. Then, a man with silvery Grey hair walked up to the Houndoom's left side and pet him on the head. He looked up at the sky at me and Tara and laughed.
"Ah, I figured you would show up sooner or later, James. You can never just stay out of the business of PHK, could you?" he said and Tara landed on the ground and I looked at him with so much venom and rage in my body. Yeah, I knew exactly who this was: Hoyt has finally shown himself. He was dressed in a black blazer with a white dress shirt underneath, black dress pants, and black loafers.
"Hoyt. Why am I not surprised to see you slither your way here, undetected? Trust me, I intend to send you to an early grave," I said with a hint of venom in my voice. He chuckled at that and nods his head.
"Oh, please boy… You are years from killing me," Hoyt told me as Wukong cracked his knuckles.
"You killed my Raichu… You broke my best friend… And, you kidnapped my girlfriend's father. You aren't getting away with that shit anymore," I told him, clutching my sword in my right hand.
"And, how are you gonna do that?" he said seriously as he folded his arms behind his back. I charged at him in a blink of an eye and was intercepted by an invisible force, almost like some sort of psychic blast has froze me completely.
"Always the one to use brute force… Like I said, years," Hoyt said as he walked up to me, "I think another year in solitary confinement will suit you. And, This time… No way out." I gritted my teeth and looked off to the side and saw a Slowbro using Psychic with its eyes glowing blue. I couldn't reach my Poké Balls since I couldn't move… God, maybe I should have thought of a Psychic resistance or something…
"Any last words to your friends before you never see them again in this life?" Hoyt told me sinisterly as he pulled out a gun from his suit jacket and points it to my chest. I sighed and smirked.
"Something funny?"
"Yeah. Duck," I told him with a chuckle. He raised an eyebrow as I suddenly feel my body fall to the ground. Suddenly, he was kicked straight in the jaw and sailed into a wall of a nearby building. Ranma lands on the ground and panted in relief as she hugged me.
"Thanks, girl. You saved my ass," I told her and she trembled in fear. She was afraid that I was gonna get taken like her father. I rubbed her head and kissed her on the top of the head.
"Sorry about that… I let my guard down."
"Don't you scare me like that again, asshole… I nearly had a heart attack…" she told me with a sniffle and I rubbed her back. We stood up and Dabi had chosen that time to get back up and was surrounded in fireballs. Gousei hops over to Ranma's side and puts up his hands in a defensive stance.
"That was rude, child…" Hoyt called as he walked out of the rubble and dusted off his clothes and glared at Ranma. Houndoom snarled at Ranma as she wiped the tears from her cheeks and got a serious look on her face as she got ready for battle. I picked up my downed sword and I could feel my bag get lighter for some reason. Suddenly, Erica hovered in front of my face and held out her hands in front of her, a pink energy generating from her hands. She wagged her hands side to side and suddenly, multiple meteors rained down on Houndoom, knocking it to the ground! She had just used Metronome, and it became Draco Meteor! Wow! Suddenly, she was surrounded in a bright light! She's evolving?! She had evolved into a Clefairy! She called out her species name and looked over at Alexis and Lola and held out her hand towards Lola. Suddenly, a familiar yellow ring appeared around Lola and began healing her. That was Heal Pulse! I remember when I was in the Sandgem Town Pokémon Center when Chansey used Heal Pulse that it created a yellow ring around my bed when it wanted to work on my body. Lola opened her eyes and rubbed her chest and groaned.
"Ouch… That felt like a Take Down," she said in annoyance as she stood up, "Boss, you okay?" Alexis got down and put Lola on her back. She raced over to me and stood at my side.
"Cute… Your little fairy evolved. Not like it will save you… Sludge Bomb," Hoyt said as he points to us. Houndoom smirked and spat a large blob of purple Sludge at us. Alexis prepared to use a Protect bubble but was interrupted by a large fireball racing past us and incinerated the Sludge Bomb on contact and slammed into Houndoom and knocked it away into Hoyt, knocking him to the ground. Vergil flew past us in a rage, surrounded in a yellow electric dome. He was royally pissed for seeing Hoyt again and was using Fusion Bolt to harm Hoyt. Vergil stops a few feet away from Hoyt, the electricity dissipating around him and was being absorbed into the new Pokémon that was out, a large Rhyperior coming out of the kicked up dust. Vergil hovered back a few feet and glanced back at me as Wukong came up to his side.
" James, we got an issue… I don't think Hoyt will leave willingly. We need finish this!" Vergil told me and I nodded my head. Hoyt's Slowbro got back up and flared its Psychic at us. At that moment, Alexis used Protect and kept us safe.
"Lex can only keep that up for so long… What do you want to do?" Ranma told me and I pulled out Rapier's Net Ball.
"Tara, assist Rapier!" I called as I called out Rapier, my Beedrill. Both my fliers flew ahead and I looked at Vergil and Wukong.
"You 2, take care of Rhyperior and Houndoom! Lex, keep up the Protect!" I ordered and my Pokémon obliged. Vergil and Wukong directed the now awake Houndoom and Rhyperior away from the battle as Tara and Rapier distracted Slowbro. Hoyt looked on in annoyance as he dusted himself off and rubbed his now bruised cheek.
"Bravo… That actually hurt. But, that will only work once…" Hoyt snarled as he held up his left hand and a black Ki orb appeared in the palm of his hand. EXCUSE ME?! HOW CAN HE USE KI?!
"You… You can use Ki?!" I yelled in shock. He nods his head and threw the Ki orb at us. I quickly conjured up a Ki shield to hold up with Alexis's shield and the Ki orb collided with our shields, breaking both of them and nailing Alexis head on. She crashed into me and I held her as she shook herself off. She looked up at me and licked me on the cheek.
"Can you keep going?" I told her and she nods her head. I got up and Alexis hops out of my arms. She had electricity sparking from her fur as she bared her fangs. Erica hovered over to me and waved her hands in front of my face. I pet her on the head and looked ad I saw Ranma weaving out of the way of more Ki blasts coming her way with a serious look on her face. I then used my Ki Sight to take a look at Hoyt. His Ki network was different than mine… It seemed to swirl around inside of him, kind of like a tornado. Weird… It's almost like it is gonna spiral out of control any second. I then had an idea.
"Hey, Pedo! Over here!" I called to Hoyt and he glared at me evilly as I conjured up a Ki Blade over my left hand.
"You came here for me… Why not make this one on one? Or are you afraid?" I asked him seriously as I pointed my red Ki Blade at him.
"I fell for that once, brat. And you cut my left ear off," he said seriously as he pointed to his left ear.
"Good, you aren't stupid. Let's keep this between us," I said seriously as I walked slowly towards him. Then, I stopped as I sensed something coming behind me and I glanced back and saw an orb of pink energy flying towards me. I moved to the side and the orb crashed into Hoyt head on, making him stagger back.
"Now what?" Hoyt said seriously. I looked back fully and saw Kitty with a scared look on her face and her hands held out in front of her.
"Why did you come out, Kitty?! This is a dangerous situation!" I told her in a panicked tone.
"Bradley has his hands full with more PHK members and told me to go find you… He was worried that one of them would take me again," she told me and I slapped my forehead. Damn it, this is just getting more out of hand…
"Well, this is my birthday today… My little Kitten has come crawling back to me," Hoyt said sadistically and Kitty shrank back in terror. Now what? Kitty pretty much came into the furnace with Bradley's decision. Haa…
"Stay back. Do not come help me, understand?" I told her and looked back at Hoyt, "If he takes you again, Cynthia would kill me…"
"I called her when I was coming here. She should be here with reinforcements soon," Kitty said softly and I looked at her with hope.
"Good, we need it," I said and felt something whizz pass my face. It was a bullet and it grazed my cheek. The bullet pierced Hoyt in the shoulder, causing him to yell in pain. Revy came up behind Kitty with a smirk.
"Hello, silver mother fucker," Revy snarled, "You got some answers for me?"
"Rebecca Lee… Why am I not surprised? The Black Lagoon company always finds a way to fuck up our plans…" Hoyt smirked darkly as he held his bleeding shoulder, "Tell Balalaika I will be waiting for our inevitable war…" He brought up his left arm up and rolled down his sleeve. A watch was on his wrist.
"We are pulling back for now, Marine. Get the others rounded up immediately," he said into his watch and I heard Emily answer over the other side.
" Roger that, Father," she said and a click was heard. Hoyt whistled for his Pokémon and they came to his sides, all bruised up and exhausted. All my Pokémon came to my sides, slightly bruised and tired.
" What's going on? Is it over? " Vergil asked me as he landed on my head. Erica hid behind my leg and looked up at me. Then, Hoyt returned his Pokémon and Emily's Aerodactyl landed beside Hoyt. He hops on the back of the Aerodactyl and smirked.
"I will return for you both… Promise," Hoyt told us and Kitty hid behind me as I glared at Hoyt. Dabi had got on Aerodactyl without a word, glaring at me.
"We will have our rematch, brat… Remember that," he said seriously.
"Trust me… It won't be much of a rematch…" I told him seriously as I sheathed my sword and folded my arms across my chest.
"Get out of here while you still have your life, Hoyt…" I told him and Aerodactyl flew off into the sky. Then, multiple explosions were heard behind us and Kitty and I looked back to see a large layer of smoke rise into the air.
"Did they lay a bomb?! What the hell?!" Revy said in anger as she reloaded her guns and rushed off to the layer of smoke. Ranma came over to me and looked at me as I returned my Pokémon besides Vergil, Alexis, and Eric's and raced off to the layer of smoke with Kitty and Ranma rushing behind me. What the hell happened in the village?!

-HOLY SHIT, A CLIFFHANGER! Yeah, I know… But, I can explain this time. So, This chapter was delayed for several reasons. For one, Sinnoh Remakes got announced! YES! But, seriously… I was planning to bring this chapter out when they came out, but nah… This and 2 more chapters will be brought out at the same time. I am already making the next chapter as we speak. Now, the delay on chapters is entirely my fault… I have been dealing with some personal stuff and am trying to get into the mood for writing. Good thing is I played some more Pokémon rom hacks and might put some more references and other stuff in the story. Next, I decided to have PHK show up again in this chapter and have Dabi and Toga debut here. However, Toga got a little debut since she will have a role next chapter. Not joining our group since she is gonna have a special job for later. Next, Hoyt… His debut has brought to this chapter since it was too perfect to pass up. Also, Kitty… Well, I was discussing a method to cure her with a user and we settled on something interesting. I think you guys noticed by the little Flashback in the middle of the chapter… Now, finally: Misako and Kyoko. Yeah, to those who didn't realize… The Next mini arc is gonna take place in River City. SO MUCH SHIT is gonna take place in River City. Kitty's healing; the backstory in full detail of Ranma, Misako, and Kyoko; Misako and Kyoko's lives in River City explained; Satellizer L Brigid being introduced; the connection between the Yayorozu and Naoko family explained… Yeah, a LOT. But, bear with me… I have a lot of leeway here until Eterna. And, it will take a while until we get to Eterna. And, fun fact: I was planning to have Mega Evolution show up in this chapter in the battle between James and Hoyt. Buy, decided not to. Instead, I had Erica evolve and learn Heal Pulse.
