I really do not want to abandon this story! I really want to try my best for everyone who has taken the time to read it!

Thank you so much for staying with me over the years.

I own nothing

Merlin moved swiftly along the corridors after completing his duties stables, he had to find Lyanna after seeing Blachfleur's outburst at Percival earlier that day, he liked that the queen had a strong interest in the serving staff of Camelot.

He headed round a sharp corner only to almost bump into Gaius, expecting a harmless scolding he found the elderly man with a grin plastered across his face.

"Merlin?!" the white-haired figure exclaimed! "How lovely to see you on this joyous morning, well lunchtime now, I suppose early afternoon, I am not sure! Well: this joyous, joyous day anyway"

Merlin stared at his long-term friend and guardian; a look of confusion washed over his face. Last time Gaius had grinned so hard was when he was previously possessed by a goblin a few years ago.

"A joyous day? You haven't just had to polish the royal saddle for the royal backside Gaius" he gapped back still mystified about what could make today so joyous, "Had a visit to the tavern this afternoon, or is there another reason for you high spirits?"

Gaius placed a hand on Merlin's should and gave it a light squeeze and raised his eyebrows, "I'm sure the king will be keeping you far busier from now on! Enjoy your duty's while they only impact your daytimes." With that comment Gaius gave a large chuckle and headed off in the direction Merlin had just previously appeared from.

The young wizard just shook his head and flashed a bewildered look as his friend moved further and further away then brought his attentions back on finding the queen.

Merlin entered the chambers to find a horrifying sight. Lyanna was hauled over bucket heaving loudly with Arthur whispering soft words into her ear. He was curious at what had caused such an illness, he panicked thinking that the sweating sickness must have returned.

"Arthur!" he exclaimed announcing his presence in the royal bedchamber! "Shall I fetch Gaius? I just saw him only a moment ago!"

The couple both looked in the direction of the servant who was pointing back out at the corridor with a look of distress plastered across his face!

Arthur shot Merlin an angry glare about to say something before being cut off my Lyanna waving her hands at Merlin. "No" she coughed, "No I'm fine!" she declared through heavy breaths while still leaning over the well-placed bucket on the table.

Arthur's eyes burned into Merlin, a stare that clearly said, "Get Out!". Merlin ignored him and continued "My Lady, you are unwell please let me fetch him"

"Merlin please," she panted "I have seen Gaius,….. I am tired… but I will be fine soon." Her look started to match Arthur's expression and he took the hint and turned from chamber.

So many thoughts were running through Merlin's had as he took the steps back towards the door. What had caused Lyanna sickness? If Gaius knew the queen had fallen in why was today "joyous"? Was Gaius back under some enchantment? Why were Arthur and Lyanna almost calm about their situation as he entered the room

"I think…. We need to wait…to…. tell people" He heard Lyanna expel through her struggling tone.

Merlin had to find out! He had to know what was going on! Something was happening and he needed to know.
