I'm going to try and keep writing while I am on a roll

I own nothing and thank you for staying with me reading along

As Arthur entered the great hall the first to greet him was Geoffrey of Monmouth who quickly snapped into conversation with the king: "Sire, we have received word. The King of Westeros will not be able to come to your tournament, The Seven Kingdoms however send their apologies and their congratulations on your recent marriage. It is my understanding that Lord Eddard is a great friend of King Robert and would not turn down your invitation lightly." He gently placed a small piece of parchment into the King's hands.

Arthur's eyes skimmed the text, that reiterated everything his counsellor had just informed him. He nodded, not showing his disappointment. He thought of Lyanna, bringing another piece of her land here may have helped her settle even more than she already had.

However it meant they could bring the date forward, maybe before the queen even begins to physically show her pregnancy. When would her belly start to swell? Arthur mentally asked himself. He realized he knew very little about the female anatomy, just the women had the babies, he didn't even have a mother while growing up to care for him, just wet nurses and nannies until he was old enough to start an education of combat with his father's knights and politics with the kings counsellors, a position that Geoffrey held even in Arthur's youth.

"Sire?" Arthur's slightly distant gaze was distracted hearing the address from the elderly gentleman.

"Thank you Geoffrey, set to work letting the court know that we will not be expecting any guests and bring the tournament forward for a week's time my uncle will help you with the preparations."

"Very good Sire!"

Arthur next turned his attention to his knights, they sat together on a long table laughing and joking between them, drinking merrily. Leon, Percival and Elyan facing Gwaine, who had been joined by Robb on the opposite end leaving a seat spare. Arthur had noticed since inviting Robb to join the kings guard he had been spending more and more time with his men.

He sat down swiftly filling the gap between Gwaine and Robb bringing the party total to 6, rather than seating himself at the large top table where he would have sat had he been escorting Lyanna tonight.

The men greeted him warmly as he poured himself a tankard of ale from the jug placed in the center of the group.

"Sire, how is the Queen?" Asked Sir Leon.

"What is wrong with Anna?" pipped in Robb. The mood suddenly fell flat before Arthur had a chance respond Leon had announced to the group about his encounter with Athur before the feast explaining that the queen was current poorly. There was a bit of shocked chatter amongst themselves as Robb fired more questions towards his new brother-in-law about Lyanna.

"She didn't mention she didn't feel right, and I only saw her last night? What is wrong Arthur? Is it serious? Is it the heat? It's much hotter here in Camelot than we are used to back in Winterfell. How was she when you last saw her? Has she seen the physician?"

Robb was panicking, Arthur had never seen him like this this, He calmed everyone by informing them that the queen was tired and just needed rest Gaius had already visited them and she would be well soon. The knights nodded with acceptance, all except Robb his face now red and sweating holding the same expression of fear.

Arthur noticed something wasn't quite right by Robb's reaction.

He stood and offered his brother-in-law and opportunity to move to somewhere quiet to ease his distress which Robb accepted. They found a small alcove just as a plate of food was place down in front of each of them by a passing serving girl, they both nodded thanks both expressionless for a moment. Neither knowing how the conversation between them was going to go.

"You love your sister" Arthur started, "I can see that, a blind man would be able to see that. I promise you; she will be just fine. But something bothers you?" Arthur promoted "Something tells me that you do not believe me."

"I am sorry your Grace, but you don't know Anna the way I do." Robb replied.

Arthur furrowed his eyes. "What do you mean?" He questioned.

"Anna is strong, she doesn't do rest, she doesn't slow down. At home she is part of the reason the coughing travels round so fast each time a chill comes. Maester Luwin was forever ordering her back to her chambers for bed rest but she is wild and free of spirit. She has always gone about her day sickness or not."

Arthur looked back at Robb still confused from his disclosure, "I still don't understand" said Arthur slowly "You don't believe Anna is going to be well because she has stayed in bed this evening?" He questioned, feeling almost foolish as he did so. He had a feeling Robb could be protective, but this was borderline madness, getting so distressed that she hadn't come down to dinner one evening. It didn't make sense to him.

"She was sick once." Robb's eyes went dark "We almost lost her"

There was a pregnant pause, Robb unsure whether to continue and Arthur unsure whether to ask.

"Tell me" Arthur finally almost commanded breaking the silence between the two of them.

Robb sat back and faced Arthur a look of despair washed over him and he began:

"Winterfell is very different to Camelot, as I'm sure Anna would have told you. Even travelling here felt like crossing to the other side of the world. It's different, but it is home. It's a hard life in the castle even the rich feel the chill sometimes through our furs and round our fires. Sometimes it gets so cold your eyelashes freeze and collect the snow. One winter a traveler from the south brought in the pox. No-one knew at first, we all carried on as normal. Anna and I everyday would cut through the little market in the courtyard to great gate, playing with our wooden swords. Jon always trailing behind in the same fashion he always did. Then one night Jon was the first to be hit with the sickness. We were not told much, mother sat with him all night and we were left in the nursery chamber with the Septa. I was woken to a sight I will never forget. Lyanna was in the next bed along to me, her face was covered in sweat, her skin was red raw it looked as if it had been burnt. She was shaking, not shivering but her body was shaking violently her breathing was what had actually woken me in the first place. I can only compare her gasping to that of a squealing pig, desperate just completely desperate for air. I called for Septa Mordane and that was the last I saw of her for weeks. We were taken from the nursery and not allowed to enter, only Mother, Father and the Maester. Every day I placed myself against the door desperate to catch a glimpse of her. I could hear my mother cry for hours and hours every day. Father would disappear into the God's Wood to pray. It was the world was stopping as Anna lay dying."

Robb paused, he felt for a moment like he was reliving the emotion. He took a deep breath and continued.

"When she finally woke up and I was allowed to visit her bedside, mother had covered the room in shrines she had made. Anna looked so weak almost like a skull. Her pale skin was ashy and grey, her eyes we dull and barely open. This is what I was told was getting better, the frail shadow of my sister was going to get better felt like the impossible. It hurt me to see her so broken. I don't know how she kept fighting, how she held onto life. Jon and Anna were the only two survivors of those who fell ill. Everyone else were buried within the first week. Father ordered a stone coffin to be made for Lyanna. Her statue memorial still sits down in the crypt next to our Aunt Lyanna's tomb. I go down there sometimes to think, I suppose I will visit more now that she will be here in Camelot knowing that it will never be her final resting place. The likeness of her is caught perfectly, she looks happy in the statue. But after that episode, we promised each other to be well. It's why she fights against bed rest. It's part of the reason she shows herself as strong"

Robb was now sat with his head in his hands, his elbows resting on his knees. Arthur placed a supporting hand on Robb's shoulder. The two men gave each other a look of understanding and ate the rest of the dinner in silence.

Once the meal was over and their plates were taken a question was asked.

"Can I see her?"

Arthur still remaining silent, imagery of a very sick Lyanna filling his mind, imagery of what he imaged his mother to look like also lay dying also crossed his mind again.

He was conflicted he was concerned about how sick Lyanna had been today even though both and her Gauis had assured him that she was okay and just needed to rest.

He was concerned that she had been so close to death's door before and understood Robb's concern.

Having him took his mother away from the world.

But he also felt so much joy at the thought of becoming a father.

He loved that the Queen's face beamed with a heartwarming glow earlier as he had embraced her during some of their time together today.

He thought back to Lyanna's previous comments about always wanting a large family of her own.

This filled him with confidence slightly, her mother is strong and had bore lots of children, he has only seen strength from Lyanna herself, they would get through this.

Arthur's thoughts suddenly jumped back to the present moment, just nodded and simple said "Follow me".

With that Lyanna's husband and brother both headed off side by side along hallways of Camelot.
