Lightning God of the Hidden Sky Island
Chapter 1
An entire continent atop a cloud.
If one were to suggest such a thing existed – even in the world of chakra and tailed beasts – others would think they were insane.
But it was real and a well-kept secret out of a desire to get away from the annoying power struggle of the world down below. The island on the clouds refused to be involved and, even long before the times of the shinobi villages, they stayed to themselves hidden up above and over the majority of the eastern side of the Elemental Nations.
Of all the Hidden Villages only Uzushiogakure was privy to their existence and when they learned of its destruction it made them dislike the world below even more.
For the most part everyone stayed away from looking at the world below them except for one girl, a simple girl named Conis whose best friend was someone from Uzu before it had been destroyed.
Conis was a sweet and beautiful girl, relatively tall with fair skin and long blonde hair that she wore in two braided pigtails and two styled antennae sticking up out of the top of her head and – like all Skypians – two small white wings on her back.
Normally she was always seen with a warm smile but, right now, her face was thick with worry and fear as she tried to push past the guards of the God of Skypiea.
"Please you have to let me see God! He has to know what has happened down below!" Conis yelled as she tried to push through, the guards worried for her but also knowing they had to do their job and keep her back.
"God! Please! Kushina has died!" Conis cried out, sobbing before the massive doors of the building across the way opened up.
"Let her in, now" the man inside declared, his guards instantly letting her continue on and run towards the temple beyond the walls they guarded.
The man was Gan Fall, the 'God' of Skypiea – a title used for the ruler of Skypiea. He was an old man with long white hair, mustache, and a beard. He had been the God for several years where even in his advanced age he was thankful to still be considered well enough to be their God.
"God Gan Fall, K-Kushina. S-She's dead" she cried out as she was brought into his arms, allowing her to sob into his arms while he did his best to ease her sorrow.
"Shhh my child, be at ease and please tell me what happened" Gan Fall told her softly, letting her cry for a bit before she composed herself.
"The cloud fox that I gave Kushina was sent back with a letter" Conis choked out as she held out a piece of paper to him, Gan Fall noticing two foxes by Conis' side, a white one that was always there with her wherever she went, and a red one that she hadn't seen in ages before he accepted the letter.
"Dear Conis,
If you are reading this then that means Kyu arrived back in Skypiea after my death, most likely due to complications during my delivery. Giving birth was a danger, I knew being a jinchuriki but I was overjoyed at the idea of being a mother.
I want you to know that I am sorry I couldn't fulfill my promise of bringing my child Naruto up to Skypiea to show him the wonderful home of the woman I consider my sister.
I won't ask of you to break any laws to enact your role as his godmother but please, I hope you will be able to watch over him from up there.
Please, give that old man Gan Fall I'm sorry he couldn't be the grandfather he wanted to but to please keep staying strong.
I hope that one day my son is able to come up there and visit you both
Love,
Kushina"
Tears nearly threatened to break free with Gan Fall, pinching the bridge of his nose as he took a deep breath and handed her back the letter. "I'll open the vision dials and aim them for Konoha. We'll find him with the help of Kyu who I figure knows what he looks like" Gan Fall told her, getting a yip from the red fox as Conis smiled and began to cry again, this time in joy.
"Th-Thank you God Gan Fall, thank you so much" she cried out with a smile as she had just come to tell him the somber news so to have him want to help make her spirits lift at the hope of watching over him.
"No need to thank me, I promised Kushina long ago to help should something happen to her….I just wished it never would have been" Gan Fall somberly muttered before he put a hand on Conis' shoulder to stop her from moping as well since now they had a duty to do for Kushina.
"I will have it set up tomorrow, just come and we shall find him" he reassured her, getting a nod before she stood up straighter as her worry was lessened now that they'd be checking on him tomorrow.
Gan Fall watched with a smile as a happily crying Conis left his temple, the two sky foxes happily yipping alongside her before his main priest, Alexander Anderson walked in.(*1)
Anderson, as he liked to be called, was a man who took his job very seriously both in terms of obeying his orders but also caring for the people of Skypiea. To the children of the land he was a smiling face who would spend any free time he had to play with them while to the enemies - what few ever showed up - he was a monster incapable of being stopped.
He was also someone whose advice Gan Fall took seriously.
"Are you sure this is wise God? Spying on the blue sea nations below is dangerous. They have a bad habit of noticing when eyes are on them for too long. They could try and investigate and find us somehow" Anderson asked as he understood their God's bond with Kushina and the son she left behind but he was worried about endangering their home in the process.
"I understand the worry but there is no need. Whenever we have spied in the past we have been cautious and only done so in small bursts and this won't be any different" he assured him as he calmly walked past the tall man. "Kushina was one of the only people who knew of us and someone I considered dear to me. I have a duty to look out for her son and I will ensure I can do so while keeping our home safe" he told him, a look of conviction in his eyes which got Anderson to smile as he nodded.
"As you wish God, I shall have the dials brought up and set up for use early tomorrow morning" Anderson assured him as that look in his eyes was all Anderson needed to know that their God would ensure he protected them while sticking to his promises to someone dear.
Gan Fall smiled, the smile not lasting too long as he had a fear in his gut that he couldn't quite snuff out. His fear was how they might treat Kushina's son given what he felt he might have been forced upon him.
He knew of the Tailed Beasts and how harshly those of the world below treated them. At most they were ignored utterly and at worst they were forced to live out of the village on their own. Personally he hoped for neither but the former - while harsh for a kid - would be better than him not even having a village to consider home.
'Kushina….I'll do my best to look out for your son…..I just hope your village is kind to the boy' Gan Fall thought with a sigh as he went back to his temple, worried for tomorrow to see how things would begin.
-Five Years Later-
For once Gan Fall had hoped he was wrong about the people below in the Blue Sea. His age though gave him wisdom of how they tended to act and over the five years, each and every time they checked in on Kushina's son Naruto, he and Conis were reminded of how poorly they behaved.
"How is he holding up? What's happened" Gan Fall asked as he walked into the room in his temple that he had dedicated to turning on the vision dials to peer down at Konoha. As he walked up to the screen Gan Fall was a bit worried for his Priest Anderson, seeing a rage in his eyes as he grit his teeth while he stood apart from them near a wall to seemingly compose himself.
It hadn't taken that long to find Naruto as with their Mantra they were easily able to hone in on the Kyuubi that was sealed inside the boy. They also made sure not to spy on them for too long or too frequently since there was the danger their sensory ninjas might notice.
"That damnable man is heartless that's what happened!" Anderson yelled out, slamming his fist against the wall in rage before Conis gently put a hand on his shoulder to calm him down.
"The Third Hokage came by to give Naruto his allowance and when he asked about his parents and what kinds of people they were…." Conis started before Anderson quickly turned around, rage still burning in her eyes.
"He told the boy that there was no use asking! That it won't bring the dead back! What man tells an orphaned boy that!?" Anderson yelled out, Gan Fall frowning as he knew how much this stuff affected Anderson - especially since he had adopted many kids and was a happy father to them all.
"Each time we look at him he is either being ignored by everyone, badmouthed from people who aren't even trying to hide it, or having to suffer the sights of his two only friends forced not to interact with him. The boy is soldiering on but….its obvious he's getting near his limits" Gan Fall recounted as he looked at the screen, seeing an image of Naruto sadly walking through the streets.
"God, I know you have been careful and cautious but….is there anything we can do to help him?" Conis asked, the sight of her godson and the son of her best friend being like this was painful to watch every time they looked in on him.
Gan Fall could only sigh as a part of him agreed with Conis, wanting to do something to help the boy but also knowing it would be dangerous to try given how - as a jinchuriki - they would have eyes on him at all times.
His gut told him to try while his mind fought back….
"Leave for now, you two go and calm down….I need to think things over" Gan Fall told them both, thankful as the two left without saying anything to allow him to stay in his thoughts.
Once alone he pulled out a key from around his neck, the key was ancient and made of a rare stone that was nigh indestructible from the depths of the blue sea. It was a key that was passed on through all the Gods of Skypiea and it allowed him to open a secret door to a long staircase that led down to another locked door of a room deep underneath the temple.
The room the stairs led to was the house of Skypiea's greatest treasure, and while it may just be one single thing atop a large pedestal, that singular fruit that - according to ancient texts - gave the one who ate it the power of the sky's rage.
The room itself was made of the same material as the key, ensuring that it would remain and stay locked no matter what happened to the rest of Skypiea above. But more often than not this was the room he sought solace in when he had a big decision to think over given it was a room that all past Gods have visited.
"To risk our land's safety for the safety of a single boy, no matter my connections to his mother….is it really worth the risk?" Gan Fall asked out loud to himself as he sat down on the floor in front of the pedestal.
"Uzushiogakure were our only allies due to their knowledge and peaceful nature, Kushina was the only one who knew of us, and Naruto is her son which myself and Conis have promised to look after….What am I to do?" Gan Fall continued to question, staring down at the floor with a sigh before he heard something rolling towards him and as he looked up he was shocked to see the fruit rolling at him.
What confused him the most was how it fell since the pedestal was large enough to ensure such a thing never happened.
"Is this a sign? You want me to use the fruit?" he asked as he kept his eyes on the stationary fruit. "Or maybe give the fruit to someone?" he continued his line of questions and watched as it rolled forward a bit.
"Okay, I'm to give it to someone but who?" Gan Fall asked, confused at what the spirits of past Gods were trying to say as he picked up the fruit. The second his hand touched the fruit his eyes instantly widened, a singular name instantly screamed into his head.
Naruto.
Gan Fall had no idea what all was happening but, if he was getting signs like this he wasn't about to ignore them.
'I better consult Anderson and form a plan as this isn't going to be easy….' he thought as he slipped the fruit inside his cloak and locked up the door.
Konoha was one of the most guarded hidden villages and one of the strongest, second to Kumo, in terms of manpower. He knew it'd have to be stealth but even then he wasn't sure how it'd go.
Then again, if the past Gods were urging him forward he would have to trust they would help the outcome, otherwise they'd be out a national treasure….and a powerful one at that.
-Few Weeks Later-
"Go over the plan again" Gan Fall ordered as he watched Anderson and Conis prepare with Pierre, his bird that would act as their transportation, standing by.
"We are to enter from the east gate, that area being closest to where Naruto lives. We are to act normal and don't draw attention as we make our way to Naruto" Conis started to state as she would be the one mainly carrying things out while Anderson was her protection in case something went wrong. She even had to undo her antennae hairstyle while both of them had to wear normal looking clothes with jackets over their wings which was something you just didn't do in Skypiea.
"I'm to carefully approach him and try and get his trust by mentioning I knew his mom and show him her picture in hopes he subconsciously recognizes it and then ask him if he likes where he is" she added, getting a nod from Gan Fall to show she had been correct so far.
"If he wants to leave like it seems he does you are to offer him the fruit, telling him it'll help keep him safe as they escape. Make sure he takes a good sized bite as only one bite is needed according to the texts I've read. You are to bring the rest back with you as I refuse to risk the Blue Sea experimenting to replicate it" Gan Fall reminded her, Conis nodding along to show she knew all of this as well. He knew that the fruit would only grant the first person who ate it its powers but he also didn't trust Konoha not to try and experiment on the smallest crumb they could find of it.
"After that we are to immediately retreat back to Pierre to head back right away" Conis finished before Anderson stood up with a frown.
"This mission will most likely take all day, not only to find the boy but also to try and carefully talk with him. We'll be noticed right away the second we meet him so you need to really get him to eat the fruit quickly so we can get him out of there" Anderson said, pointing out the small timeframe they had for what had to be the most ambitious mission imaginable.
At first he wasn't certain about his God's orders but when he had explained everything that brought him to it, from the fruit moving in response to questions to Naruto's name screaming in his head once he touched the fruit, he couldn't go against his and the past God's wills.
"Right, hence why this is our only chance so be careful" Gan Fall reminded Conis as he handed her the fruit.
"Understood….we won't fail. I promise you" Conis told him, looking Gan Fall in the eye as she accepted the fruit from him and carefully placed it in her bag.
"I have faith but it doesn't mean I won't worry" Gan Fall replied, a look to Anderson being all he needed to see to know he'd keep Conis and Naruto safe if something was to happen. "Pierre, sorry to have you wear a cloak like that but a sky dot pegasus would stick out too much" he said as he turned towards his bird friend who was covered for the most part in a brown cloak with a hood that that kept most of his body hidden and only letting his wings poke through.
A mix of a caw and a whiny was all Pierre gave as he shifted forms, him being a mythical being of sorts as he was a rare type of sky bird that could naturally shift between a regular bird to a pegasus.(*2)
"Stay safe and guide them well my friend" Gan Fall asked of him, Pierre nodding as Anderson got onto him with Consis sitting behind him, her arms going around his waist to steady herself.
"We'll be back as soon as we can, may God watch over us" Anderson spoke out, getting a nod from Gan Fall before they flew off into the air.
'May the past Gods watch over you as well, you'll need all the luck and guidance you can get' Gan Fall thought to himself as he watched them fly off. The prospect of infiltrating a Hidden Village was a dangerous one but at the same time, if the past Gods had guided him to this path then he felt it would be safe in the end….or so he hoped.
-Konoha-
As they landed on the ground a bit away from Konoha, since dropping by too close would get them spotted instantly, they were quick to start off towards Konoha since the sun was already halfway to the horizon by the time they arrived.
Pierre though had to wait behind a good distance but Anderson assured her he'd be able to carry the two of them back fast enough to ensure a quick retreat.
Once at the gates of Konoha they were thankful it didn't take them that long to actually get there or get into the village as they were easily able to sign in as visitors.
Conis was a bit nervous though as, to keep them both safe, they separated a bit before they arrived so that Konoha wouldn't think they were potentially partners. This was done to ensure Conis could slip through the city unnoticed to find Naruto.
Konoha was so much more bustling and active than Skypiea though, as she looked around, it felt a bit claustrophobic. She was thankful for Anderson as, even if he wasn't near her, she could feel him nearby with what little Mantra she could manifest.
She brought her worry down as she remembered Anderson's words to focus on the task at hand and to pay no mind to anyone else.
Anderson couldn't help but smile a bit as he felt Conis continue along, proud that she was focusing on the task at him. His smile died down a bit as he could feel a lot of eyes on him he walked through the village.
'Careful with visitors? Can't say I blame them though as I definitely stick out' Anderson thought with a smirk as he continued on, already having figured he'd get the majority of the eyes given his seven foot tall stature.
It was actually part of the plan given how unassuming Conis looked, allowing her to slip through and quickly find the boy so long as no one looked her way.
Conis, as she walked through Konoha, remembered Gan Fall and Anderson's advice: stay calm and walk normal but use her Mantra to search everywhere.
Given the size of Konoha it took them til the afternoon until Conis felt him nearby. She almost ran to him but stopped herself as she had to remember that if she acted out she could have the village's guards on her in an instant.
The fact that he was in a public park helped things in their favor as it wasn't anywhere that they'd draw suspicion by going into.
Seeing Naruto for the first time in person his resemblance to his mom and dad was uncanny as he a balanced mix of the two of them, his mother's red hair with his father's hairstyle, indigo colored eyes - it being a mix of purple and blue - and his father's skin tone.
The cutest part of him was by far his whiskers, reminding her more of Kyu which was so adorable.
She frowned though as she watched him play by himself, sadly kicking around a ball as other kids seemed to go out of their way to ignore him. It seriously hurt her heart to see it in person but she did her best to stay calm.
She subtly watched him as he played until the ball bounced off of something and started to roll her way. She smiled as she picked it up, about to hand it back to the timid looking Naruto before a nearby adult stomped forward.
"What do you think you're doing? Don't bug this poor lady just because you can't play with your toys without bothering other people" the adult said before they glared down at Naruto, getting him to take a step back before he ran off.
"I'm sorry about that, he's a real problem child that our Kage seriously needs to deal with" the adult said only to raise an eyebrow in confusion as Conis walked off after Naruto, doing her best to hold back her tears and keep from running after him.
She had seen the worry in his eyes when his ball rolled over to her and his slight fear, as if afraid she was about to yell at him like that adult just had done to him.
'A kid shouldn't be afraid like this, this is too much' Conis thought to herself as she wiped the tears out of the corners of her eyes and continued after Naruto who she could feel hurrying off with her Mantra.
Thankfully he didn't go too far, seemingly going off to an empty street a few streets over and into an alley where - as she walked down it - he was crying until he noticed her and quickly wiped his tears.
"L-Look, I-I'm sorry I bothered you with my ball. I-I didn't mean to" he choked out through the tears he worked to stop before he noticed she was holding his ball out to him with a smile.
"You didn't bother me, if anything that lady should apologize for yelling at you like that when you were just playing" Conis gently told him as he carefully took the ball from her before quickly taking a step back from her as if afraid of her.
"My name is Conis and you don't have to be afraid of me Naruto, I'm actually visiting here to see you" Conis told him, surprising him as he took another step back.
"How do you know my name?" he defensively asked, clutching his ball close to his chest as if it was something to hide behind.
"Because I knew your mother and….when she died I got a letter from her that she wrote to me in case she died that told me all about you. She wanted me to look out for you" she told him, getting him to frown as he looked down at the ground.
"Then where have you been?..." he asked, getting a frown from her as well while she crouched down to his level.
"I haven't been here for you and I'm sorry, it's just because I live very far away and somewhere that not many people can visit….but I've been watching over you" she told him, his eyes looking up to meet hers as she smiled and nodded at him. "I've been keeping an eye on you and after seeing how hard you have it here I wanted to come and help you as you don't like living here….do you?" she asked before he once again looked down at the ground.
"Look, I promised your mom I'd look out for you so a friend of mine came with me to help get you and take you to my home. I want to help you Naruto, Kushina was a sister to me so I can't let her son be all alone here" Conis told him as she pulled a photo from her bag.
"T-That's my mom?" Naruto asked with eyes sparkling with a childlike curiosity that made her giggle as she nodded.
"Yes, her name is Kushina and we were best friends before she moved here and we could only exchange letters over the years. You look a lot like her" she told him, watching as he looked over the picture of the two of them.
"My mom is so pretty with red hair like me" Naruto said in awe as he grabbed a bit of his hair and smiled.
"Your mom had the most beautiful and vibrant red hair, she'd be happy to hear you call it pretty" Conis told him, getting an even warmer smile from him before she gently put her hand on his arm to get him to look up at her. "Your mom asked me to look out for you so I'll ask you again and you only have to nod if you don't want to say it out loud but, do you want to leave?" she asked, seeing the nervousness in Naruto's eyes before he slowly nodded and stared down at the ground.
"Then do you want to leave with me?" she asked him, getting him to quickly look up at her as if shocked that she was offering him something like this.
"S-Seriously?" he stammered out, almost not believing her as she nodded.
"I have a friend who will help us get out of here but first you need to take a bit of this fruit" Conis told him as she pulled it out of her bag. "I know it seems odd but please, it's to keep you safe. My village leader gave it to me to ensure we could get you out of here safely" she explained after she could see his confusion but she did her best to assure him and get him to believe her with the look in her eyes.
"I-If eating this helps me leave, then okay….I'll do it" Naruto told her, still a bit unsure as he wasn't sure how this would help him leave here.
He had to grimace at the taste, the fruit tasting like wax as he took a bite of it as he forced himself to swallow before he handed it back to her, thankful that he only had to take one bite of it.
"I don't know how that will help but if that's all I needed to do can we leave? Please?" Naruto asked with an urgency to his voice that showed he wanted to leave immediately and personally she didn't blame him.
"Yes, we are leaving right now so stay close to me" Conis urged him as she put the fruit and picture back in her bag before she grabbed his hand to hurry off.
Her Mantra might not be as wide ranged or be as strong as the Priests but she was able to use it enough to help avoid people as she guided them down alleyways and across abandoned streets.
"Wait, what about your friend?" Naruto asked as Conis guided him down another alleyway.
"His Mantra is much better than mine, he'll be able to find us before we find him. We just need to get out of the village first" Conis hurriedly told him as they hurried out of another alleyway only for Conis to barely have a second to react before a group of people appeared around them and separated them, holding her arms behind her back while they yanked Naruto away by his arm.
"Got them Fugaku-sama, it's just like you said. The ANBU are too focused on the strange man that showed up earlier today" one man said as Conis tried to struggle out of the man's grip on her arms only to get pulled back harshly.
She looked away from him for a second to look towards Naruto beside her, trying her best to convey to him that it'll be fine as she could feel Anderson heading their way.
"I don't know who you are woman but I guess I do have to thank you for giving us this opportunity" the man she figured to be Fugaku said as he stepped forward, his red tomoe eyes looking down at her as she glared up at him.
"Leave Naruto alone!" she yelled as she was yanked back again to silence her.
"Oh so you actually know the Nine Tailed brat? That is a bit surprising but then again a stranger wouldn't just randomly try and take him of all people" Fugaku said, smirking a bit as the woman continued to glare at him despite being in a hopeless situation.
"Fugaku-sama, all she has in her bag is some weird looking partially eaten fruit and a picture of her with the late 4th Hokage's wife" a man behind her said, getting Conis to quickly turn to look behind her with a glare as she saw a man go through her bag but thankfully they only took the picture out.
"Oh, so you have a connection to the boy. Makes sense for why you'd come for him then" Fugaku muttered as he looked over the photo before tossing it to her feet. "Shame you coming here is going to help us turn her son into our puppet" he revealed which got another fierce glare from her only this time Fugaku allowed it as he held up his hand to stop his man from trying to stop her again.
"You see, we've been waiting for a chance to get the Nine Tails under our control and today we will. It'll help us with our plans for taking control of this village in the future so I'm thankful for you and whoever that man who showed up for diverting attention for us" Fugaku revealed, smirking once again while Conis struggled more.
"Leave Naruto alone! He's suffered enough by the hands of everyone else!" Conis yelled out before Fugaku walked towards her and roughly grabbed her chin as he glared back at her.
"The Uchiha have suffered more than one little brat and a woman like you should be grateful you aren't dead where you stand" Fugaku hissed out before he pushed her away. "Knock out the brat and bind up the woman. We can kill her and drop her in a ditch later" he ordered, looking over to his men around Naruto only for him - and all the other Uchiha - to watch in utter confusion as the hand that they went to chop at the back on Naruto's neck with went straight through him.
As the hand went through it seemed the part of Naruto's body that they phased through became electricity that quickly zapped them with a powerful crackle which knocked him out.
"W-Whats going on?" Naruto asked out in shock before he looked her way for answers.
"It's okay Naruto as this is why I made you eat the fruit, to protect you as we escape. That fruit turned you into the rage of the sky incarnate and now nothing can hurt you now that you are pure lightning" Conis calmly told him, nodding to him in hopes to ease his worries as he looked at his crackling hands.
"You damn bitch!" Fugaku growled out as he stomped over to Naruto and tried to grab him by the collar of his shirt only for his hand to go through it. "Get the fruit out of her bag! If it turned him this way we can use it as well!" Fugaku ordered only for Conis to laugh at him with a smirk.
"Only the first person to eat it gets its power so now its just a terrible tasting waxy fruit" Conis told him as she smiled up at him, not worried anymore as Naruto was safe and she could feel Anderson speeding their way.
"Then we'll just take you to get the boy to come with us" he growled out once more, walking over to her before Naruto appeared in front of him in a quick flash of electricity.
"Y-You won't hurt her. I won't let you" Naruto told him, his tone shaky but still standing strong as now that he knew he was safe he could finally protect Conis as she had come to save him.
"You won't let me? You can't even act as a shield to her so what good will you be able to do?" Fugaku asked as he walked forward a bit with a smirk. "All it takes is a kunai to phase through you and she's dead" he pointed out as Naruto started to crackle with more and more electricity.
Conis grew a bit worried as Naruto grew brighter and brighter, feeling as if something big was about to happen. Her worry went towards something else as she saw two kids hiding behind some trash cans to her left, not out of getting caught in the crossfire but what she felt they might end up seeing.
"I won't let you! S-She's here to save me and take me away from here and I won't let anyone hurt her! I won't let anyone hurt her, not you or anyone else!" Naruto yelled out, glaring at Fugaku as he started to glow so bright that Conis had to look away before proverbial hell broke loose with a loud roar and a blast of lightning. (*3)
Once the light died down and her hearing returned she was stunned and worried as she saw the abandoned building across from them destroyed as well as the buildings on the two streets beyond. The charred bodies of the Uchiha left in the path of destruction were unrecognizable as they smoldered from the intense - and point blank - blast of lightning.
"Well, the boy definitely awakened the sky's rage all right" Anderson said, bringing Conis out of her shocked stupor and surprising Naruto as he hit the Uchiha who was standing behind her - him having let her go a bit ago - and knocked them out.
"It's okay Naruto, this is my friend I told you about. His name is Anderson" Conis quickly told him as she saw Naruto, despite being a bit woozy, squaring up to fight.
"Yes, I am a friend but you both need to leave. Now" Anderson told them as he picked up Conis's bag and handed it back to her while she quickly stuffed the photo back into it and frowned as they both sensed more people showing up.
"I'm afraid I can't allow that" an aged voice spoke out as Anderson quickly got in front of Conis and Naruto, a hand held protectively in front of them as he saw several masked people appeared in front of them and on the nearby rooftops while a man wearing a white cloak with a red hat stood in front of them all.
From all their times watching over Naruto they knew who this man was and it was safe to say neither of them were a fan of the Third Hokage.
"I don't know what happened but wanton killing of the Uchiha like that wasn't smart of you. We have been following you since you arrived in the village and it seems we made the right choice to be cautious of you" the Third Hokage said before Naruto quickly shook his head.
"He didn't do that old man, I did! T-They were hurting her and tried to hurt me! They wanted to kill her!" Naruto yelled out, getting angry and not wanting Anderson to get blamed for it before Anderson put a hand on his head with a smile.
"It's true, the boy did this in a fine act of protecting someone newly dear to him but at the same time these men were the instigators. They said some very worrying things so, as leader, I'd look into your village more" Anderson told Hiruzen as he ruffled Naruto's hair as he kept his eye on Hiruzen and various ANBU nearby.
"We can talk about this later Naruto but you need to step away from these people now" Hiruzen ordered with a stern voice that made Naruto shiver before he clenched his fists and shook his head.
"N-No….No! I'm not leaving! I refuse to stay in a village I hate!" Naruto yelled out while Hiruzen could only watch in shock as those words were ones he hoped never to hear from Naruto. "I-I've only known Conis for a few minutes but she's actually told me about my mom! She's done more for me than you have in years!" he continued before Anderson started laughing.
"You've been holding that in for a long time haven't you boy?" Anderson asked, getting a nod from Naruto as he kept his eyes focused on Hiruzen. "You see Sarutobi, that's what happens when you refuse to console a kid and ease his worries. Now stand aside as this boy has a new home to get to" he told him with a smirk before he held his fingers to his mouth and let out a loud whistle just as his other hand pulled out a bayonet from his jacket to show he was ready to fight.
Conis focused on holding Naruto close to her to ensure they didn't get separated as Anderson blocked and deflected several kunai and shuriken sent his way. Anderson knew that - as trained professionals - they wouldn't endanger Conis or Naruto but Anderson did have to keep them from trying to grab the two of them.
"Don't worry you two, our ride is here!" Anderson said with a smirk just as something crashed down, causing the ANBU to scatter. "Conis, you and Naruto get on Pierre and get out of here" he told them, giving Conis a look that told her not to argue.
"I'll call Pierre back once I'm done with these guys so hurry, now!" he yelled out, mainly for Naruto who he could see was worried for him.
"Don't worry about Anderson, he's strong and can handle himself much better if we leave so he can focus on the fight and not protecting us as well" Conis assured Naruto as she quickly put Naruto on Pierre only to quickly turn around with her hand pointed towards one ANBU that rushed at her.
"Impact Dial!" she quickly yelled, aiming the shell on her hand towards the ANBU before it released all the force she had stored in it and sent the ANBU rocketing back and through a nearby building.
The Impact Dial hurt to use but she had worked hard enough to be able to handle firing it at least once to help aid in their escape.
"Now hold on as tight as you can and don't let go" Conis instructed him as she got on Pierre, Naruto nodding as he quickly did as she asked while Pierre flapped his wings down fast to take off.
Pierre had to quickly dodge to the side to avoid kunai and shuriken thrown their way, the pegasus giving Conis a look that she understood and held out her other hand towards the ANBU. "Smoke Dial!" she quickly yelled as the shell on her other hand started to shoot out a massive blanket of smoke.
It was a bit difficult to hold onto Pierre with one arm as she kept her other hand stretched out to spew out smoke in every direction and it was quickly made more difficult as Pierre had to swerve and dive to avoid kunai.
As they burst out from the top of the smoke cloud Conis widened her eyes as she saw an ANBU with a dog mask leaping across at them from a nearby building at them.
Pierre seemed ready for it as, just as the ANBU was about to grab his front leg he instantly shifted back into his pure bird form, making the ANBU miss and allow them to keep flying higher into the sky and safe from further pursuit as they headed far out to wait for Anderson.
"There, that gets rid of the distractions so now I can focus on you" Anderson said with a smirk as he stared down Hiruzen and pulled out a few more bayonets to arm himself.
"I want you all to cordon off this district and try and track the bird" Hiruzen ordered as he threw off his cloak, revealing his black armor underneath before unsealing a black staff. "Also take the two kids out of here, they shouldn't have been here in the first place" he added, finally acknowledging the two Uchiha kids who were hiding behind the trashcans nearby.
"Going to fight me yourself? I'm glad cause I have a few choice words for you as a father to a group of orphans" Anderson declared as he watched and waited for the kids to be taken away before he dashed at the man, his bayonets clashing with his staff and neither offering any leeway.
"You do not know the situation so I recommend staying quiet" Hiruzen warned him before he leapt back just as Anderson sliced through his staff.
"I know all of the situation, I've seen all of it. You don't do anything for the boy other than give him allowance" Anderson told him, Hiruzen noticing that the blades of his bayonets had all turned black and somehow allowed him to cut through a pure metal staff. "The boy asks for some reassurance as to why he doesn't have parents and time and time again you rudely brush him off. Now he'll be somewhere he can learn about his parents and be raised with care that you should have given him" he continued before he started launching bayonets at Hiruzen while completely unphased and effortlessly weaving through attacks of countless ANBU, even from those who attacked him from behind or from blindspots.
It seemed not a single ANBU was able to strike him with either their swords or any assortment of tools launched at him, all either dodged or blocked and deflected like they were nothing. He just continued to throw more bayonets out, always more appearing from his sleeves to block and attack.
Hiruzen watched as he tried to find an opening or a weakness in the man's fighting style but he couldn't see anything as his style was strong and fierce but still allowed him to keep a defense with no holes.
He almost couldn't believe he needed to do this but, with Naruto gone and his ANBU being taken out like they were essentially nothing, he wasted no more time before he unsealed another staff. As much trouble as this man was causing he decided to rely on a staff that he used when he had to seriously fight and didn't feel it was worth bothering Enma.
The man seemed ready for him as he moved to block his swing with a bayonet in a reverse grip behind him without even looking.
"Done sending your men to be struck down? Good, now I can work on being done with the lot of you so I can leave" Anderson said as he quickly turned around and began attacking, his bayonets turning black again.
The wounded and injured ANBU watched in awe as this random stranger matched blows with their Kage, the man able to handle everything and be surprised by nothing. The balance in the battle was quickly turning the man's way, them all noticing him getting more and more cuts and nicks on Hiruzen as the battle continued.
The man was a one man flurry of blades, the relentless onslaught giving their Kage no chance to pull away to weave even the slightest hand sign. Everyone knew just from watching that if the Third Hokage let up on blocking, dodging, or pushing back even slightly that this stranger would pounce on that window. Hiruzen tried to give himself more space, leaping back a few times but even then Anderson was always right in his face.
"Let's finish this, shall we?" Anderson asked as he threw out his hands releasing two sets of chains from his sleeves that had countless bayonets hanging from it.
Hiruzen found himself a bit trapped as the chains were wrapped around his staff and stabbing into the walls behind him. His eyes instantly widened as the pommels of each bayonet instantly grew red, him seeing Anderson holding a shell in his hand with a smile.
"Remote Dial" he simply said before several powerful explosions instantly went off just as Anderson leapt back just as the building behind Hiruzen crumbled and fell.
He stood and watched as all his other bayonets detonated, knocking out the ANBUs they were near to ensure they didn't get back up.
"Earth and Fire Style Combination: Earth and Fire Dragon Bullets!" Hiruzen yelled out as Anderson weaved through the flaming orbs of mud shot out from the smoke and rubble.
"Fighting through your injuries, commendable but stupid" Anderson told him as he watched a staff extend from the smoke aimed at him, suddenly growing thicker before Anderson let it slam full force into his palms.
He couldn't help but smile as the staff suddenly transformed into a monkey and Hiruzen appeared behind him. "Next time don't underestimate those from the White-White Sea. Impact Dial" Anderson told the man as he extended both hands towards each of them before firing off his Impact Dials and sending both of them flying back.
As Anderson stood up he sighed as he saw Hiruzen lying on the ground injured, blood leaking from his lips as his arm hung limply at his side with his clothes heavily damaged. He could see a lot of metal shrapnel
"Relax summon, I'm not going to kill him. I have someone waiting for me" Anderson told the monkey as it forced itself up while he let out another loud whistle to call for Pierre.
"Why did you attack the village?" the monkey asked, on guard but not attacking as Anderson stood in wait.
"I didn't attack anything, I came to save an orphaned boy and get him into the arms of his godmother. The boy attacked to protect her and I had to defend myself to allow them to escape. Tell your master to keep an eye on the Uchiha, they mentioned dangerous plans" he explained as Pierre arrived again, the monkey making no move to stop them as he got on and flew out of the village.
-Skypiea-
Naruto was amazed with the sights as they flew through the sky once Anderson returned safely. As they flew Conis told him it'd take flying through the night and some of the morning before they arrived and - as he grew tired - Anderson assured him that he would be able to stay awake through the night and Pierre would fly softly to ensure that he and Conis wouldn't fall.
It was a bit odd at first but, as Conis held onto him, Naruto couldn't help but softly smile as the feeling of being hugged by someone like this was something he hadn't really ever experienced before. It actually made him sleep better than he ever has before, even if it was sitting up on the back of a horse.
As he woke up, the sun somewhat waking him, the moment he saw what all was in front of them his eyes were wide in awe as he saw what Conis told him was Skypiea.
When she had told him about islands on top of the clouds he thought she just meant somewhere high up but, as they got above the clouds, he was shocked to see she had meant what she said. He could see what looked like a crescent moon of normal land connected to a smaller island that was made entirely of clouds.
"Welcome to your new home" Conis said with a happy smile as they landed, helping him down and holding his hand as he nervously tested it out with a foot of his despite Conis and everyone else standing on it just fine.
Naruto couldn't help but stare as he watched the two of them remove their jackets, revealing their white wings underneath that he had noticed in her picture with his mom.
"Come on Naruto, the leader of Skypiea - our God - wants to meet you" Anderson told him, surprising Naruto a bit before he nodded and followed them, making sure not to let go of Conis' hand as she was someone she felt safe around in this new place.
Naruto felt a bit worried as he could feel a lot of eyes on him as they walked through the town, even with it being early in the morning he could feel them looking out their windows as he tried to ignore them. It wasn't bad like back in Konoha but it did make him feel a bit embarrassed as it felt like they were unsure why he was here.
"Heso Priest Anderson! What is going on here?" a man wearing a weird outfit of super puffy cloud print pants asked as other men in the same outfit stood behind him.
"Just coming back from a mission that God sent me on with the help of Conis" Anderson explained, looking back and frowning a bit as he saw Naruto hiding behind Conis a bit.
"And that mission was to bring back someone from the Blue Sea?" the man asked with a raised eyebrow as he looked down at Naruto. "You know the strict laws of nothing from the Blue Sea allowed up in Skypiea, especially not people" he continued before Anderson put a hand on his chest to stop the man from walking towards them.
"He is an Uzumaki and this is a direct mission from God so please, stand aside" Anderson warned, his tone growing colder which got the men to take a bit of a step back before the main guy straightened up and cleared his throat.
"A-And why would God want someone from the Blue Sea brought up here?" the man asked before a throat cleared behind the men in cloud pants, getting them to move to either side to reveal an old man in a robe and cloak.
"McKinley, it is because the spirits of the past Gods made themselves known and decided for Naruto here to be the next God, even granting him our treasure" the old man told them before he looked over to Anderson.
"G-God Gan Fall, are you serious?" McKinley asked as Gan Fall herely held up a hand to silence him before Anderson crouched down and put a hand on Naruto's shoulder.
"It'll be okay Naruto, I'm just doing this to show them your new power" Anderson assured him, Naruto closing his eyes and nodding before he felt something go through him and heard crackling of electricity with the gasps of others sounding out around him.
Feeling things phase through him like that was something he'd definitely have to get used to but he was just happy it didn't hurt when it happened.
"I thought long and hard on this but Naruto was the son of one of the few people who knew of us and who I considered like a daughter to myself and who picked Conis here as his godmother so in the end he has ever right to be here even if he wasn't picked to wield our nation's treasure" Gan Fall told them, looking around to them all, looking them in the eyes as he showed them the resolve in his eyes.
"His home in the Blue Sea was harsh to him, a mere child, so I implore you to treat him as a Skypiean as that is what he is from this day forth" Gan Fall continued as he smiled down at Naruto nodding as he held a hand out towards him, Conis encouragingly nudging him forward before Naruto accepted his hand and his face slowly changing to a smile.
He couldn't help himself as his eyes got a bit teary as for the first time in his life he felt like he was somewhere that could be a home to him.
-Konoha-
As Jiriaya absorbed all the info from his heavily injured sensei and his summon Enma all he could think of was how he didn't believe something like this had actually happened but he knew Enma wasn't the kind to exaggerate or tell lies.
"Any updates on this man named Anderson and the….pegasus he flew off on?" Jiraiya asked before Enma shook his head.
"The ANBU lost track of him quickly and haven't heard anything from any of the border guards throughout the Land of Fire" Enma said with a scoff. "Though, with a pegasus there is only so much they can see if he flew high enough and before you ask, there are no horse summons that I know of so that route has been exhausted as well" he continued, answering Jiraiya's question before it was even asked.
"I've sworn the ANBU to secrecy, all mentions of Anderson and Naruto's seemingly new electric powers as well as the deaths of the Uchihas involved have been marked as a high rank secret" Hiruzen spoke up with a groan while Jiraiya looked him down with a frown.
"And of the two kids who watched all of it go down? Sasuke and Sarada, right? The two youngest children of the clan head….who Naruto ended up frying. How are they handling things?" Jiraiya asked as he personally wanted to ask them about what they saw but definitely needed to know how they were beforehand.
"Sasuke is taking it the worst, seeing Naruto as a murderer while Sarada seems to understand things a bit better as I think she overheard more of what her father said than compared to her brother" Hiruzen told him, a shared look referring to the whispers of a coup that they had talked about a bit as it had been 'rising up' in these last few months. "Itachi, the new clan head effective immediately, and their mother Mikoto are helping us with keeping them quiet about things for the most part" he added, getting a nod from Jiraiya with a sigh.
"Her being friends with Naruto before her father forced her to stop probably helped her be so understanding" Jiraiya commented as she was one of the few friends that Naruto was able to have for a while before the majority of their parents forced them to stop due Naruto being the 'monster child'.
"Let me get to the real reason I called you here for: I need you to take over as Hokage. I already have approval from the Daimyo to assign you as temporary Hokage until I can suggest a solid replacement" Hiruzen told him as Jiraiya, despite not wanting to be Hokage, nodded along since he knew the alternative would most likely be Danzo trying to put himself in control.
"Fine but don't expect me to be here for too long so you better find your replacement soon" Jiraiya reminded him as he got up from his seat beside his sensei's hospital bed, a nod being all Jiraiya needed before he left the room.
As he got out into the hallway Jiraiya couldn't hold in his tired sigh any longer as everything was a mess and his head was bouncing around all the questions he had. 'Lightning powers, an unknown godmother I've never heard of, White-White Sea, Dials, and a pegasus. If I wasn't certain it was real due to Enma I'd say this has the makings of a book that could sell well if it was my cup of tea to actually write' he couldn't help but think before he shook his head, deciding to hold off things for now and just focus on settling in and calming things down as best he could.
'Don't worry Minato, I'll find him….I promise' he thought before he followed nearby ANBU to guide him to his new office where he could eventually begin the search for his abducted godson wherever this 'White-White Sea' might be.

**Attention!**
I have officially started a discord server for my writing that anyone can join!
If you wish to join drop me a PM and I'll give you the link or you can ask alongside your review and I'll give it to you. Originally I was just gonna have the link here but that could be a tad bit dangerous if a troll got it or if someone I have blocked got it lol
Keep in mind people have access to channels with stuff equivalent to the tiers they are pledged to. BUT, even if you aren't pledged you have access to all the basic stuff of the server :)
Before I get to the story notes I would like to remind everyone I do have a pat reon which includes rewards like seeing progress updates, notifications to new stories I plan to do, voting polls, and early access to chapters before I post them on FF.
Simple go to pat reon and paste:
/user?u=4783680
At the end of pat reon's url and you'll find my page.
You don't get anything that everyone here won't get aka there will be no "pat reon exclusive stories" or things where I have to get a certain amount of money before I work on something as both of those are shitty practices.
It is solely "hey, you want to support me, a disabled unemployed writer who survives off my disability checks? Thanks, I appreciate it" and nothing more
So yeah, check it out if you want, now onto chapter notes!
*1 = I am using some characters from other animes and whatnot like Anderson and those in the pairing. I won't be doing that many, just a few here and there
I tried to stick to characters I felt could work as Priests/Priestesses of Skypiea and Anderson was the first with the others following alongside. I won't really be adding characters down below in the Elemental Nations other than bringing Sarada over from Boruto
*2 = Given I don't want to make Devil Fruits too much of a thing I've decided to make Pierre's shifting between bird and pegasus to be a natural thing, no Devil Fruit involved
*3 = Essentially Naruto let out an 'El Thor' in a burst of emotions. He still needs training of course but this was an emotional high that allowed him to use it just now
I hope you all don't mind a new fic since, with how wonky my drive to write is, I'm going to go anywhere I feel I can get progress with.
I don't have much I want to really say in these notes other than how I've been wanting to write a Logia fic for a while and honestly Lightning Logia is my fave one since its powerful and has a 'defense' that attacks since if you punch through it you get zapped and hurt by it.
The set up for this fic is interesting as it seemed to really click when I finally sat down to think about it. There will be some characters from other animes in this fic but they are only in Skypiea and they are very limited. Also, Robin and Nami (and their families) are the only ones I honestly feel could fit in Skypiea since that is the only place I really want OP characters at
I have a lot planned with this fic, next chapter will mainly be setting things up and having Naruto train and grow before the plot really starts
Also, in regards to how Anderson can go toe to toe with Hiruzen you need to remember is that this is Alexander Anderson, the man who can fight with Alucard. He's a monster so I feel it'd carry over in this fic as well. He also has 2nd Haki - hence the color of his blades. Haki will be a thing in this fic just by different names given they have a different name for 1st Haki
Until Next Time
