Hange opened the door to her office at the Survey Corps HQ.
The day went down a "shit" direction, as Levi would say.
She walked to her work desk and took a seat.
Her head plopped down on her desk and she released a deep guttural groan.
She had tried to pry for information from Eren but he didn't budge. She had mentioned Historia in an attempt to get him to say something but he didn't seem to care.
He just wanted solutions, solutions she couldn't find.
She felt so useless as the same thought passed through her head. Erwin shouldn't have picked her.
"Damn it. Think Hange think." She murmured to herself.
Her mind raced as she tried to find a solution.
But all she came up with... was nothing.
Maybe she should approach this from a different angle...
Perhaps she can't offer him a solution but she needed him to talk.
She knew he didn't seem to care about his other friends as he put them in danger during the Liberio raid. That reckless brat...
Then there's Historia...
Hange suspected he might have had feelings for the blonde queen but she wasn't sure. He was super quiet for so long...
Yet when she mentioned Historia to him, he had exploded into anger...
Maybe it was a ruse...
Hange sat up, closing her eyes, letting her mind recall memories.
"Because I was concerned about Historia. I couldn't allow her to become a Titan based only on my own uncertain information. I didn't want that."
'Eren held vital information for a year when it could've been instrumental for Paradis, because the queen was involved. Just how long would he have held it if Zeke hadn't told us about the requirements to activate the Founder's power?' Hange mused.
'Probably forever.'
Hange brainstormed more, rubbing her temples in concentration.
She remembered him smiling at Historia. She remembered him standing up for the queen at the meeting with Kyomi. She remembered him keeping his mouth shut when he had the chance to tell the truth about activating the Founder's power.
But it's not enough. She needed more information.
Hange's thoughts shifted to Historia.
She knew the queen was already willing to go with the Zeke Yeager's plan. Hange remembered what the MP's told her when she and the Scouts came back from the Liberio raid.
Historia had announced she had gotten pregnant when the Scouts had left for Marley. Hange and everyone else were initially surprised but they couldn't do anything about it.
The father of Historia's child was a farmer and his story checked out.
But what if...
Hange shook her head rapidly.
It's impossible.
Eren was with them the entire time.
Unless...
Did he meet with her in secret somehow?
Hange took a sharp inhale.
"No way..."
