Oh my goodness… first off, I apologize for disappearing for like a year or two. So much has happened in this time, and loss and too much madness. However, though I wasn't posting, I haven't stopped writing. I've just been working more and have had less free time to be able to edit and post. I also want my writing to be good so I take a while to analyze and all. Again, sorry for the long wait. I'll be updating as often as I can since things look better now for me, and I hope they continue so I can write more then having to work all the time…
Anyway, here it finally is… a story I had about 5 years ago that I wanted to make a comic but couldn't continue and wrote it all out now. Introducing the Origin the Original the First story that influenced me when writing Deathly Exchange and Multiverse Exchange…
Here it finally is… which I'm getting a bit teary eyed from how much I've gone through to this point to finally at least write it out and make it live…
Here is UT: Resolution
Chapter 1
A beam of light gleamed upon a bed of golden flowers, and among the plants was a child rising up from them. Her hair was dark brown and a little unkempt as she combed her little hands through it, and a dirty bandaged rested upon her left cheek. She stood up on her feet and dusted off her blue clothes, noticing the pink stripes across her shirt, and inspecting her little dusty brown boots. Looking upward, she saw that the beam of light was a long way up the cave, so she figured if she fell the bed of flowers must have prevented her from getting hurt. She decided to explore ahead when she noticed a path she soon followed, and then she entered a purple doorway where a lone golden flower stood. But she soon realized that this particular flower had a face with a smile that was a little too cheerful.
"Howdy! I'm Flowey. Flowey the Flower!" The golden flower said with a little bounce of his head.
+ That's the worse name.
– Yeah.
"Hmmm… You're new to the underground, aren'tcha? Golly, you must be so confused. Someone ought to teach you how things work around here! I guess little old me will have to do. Ready? Here we go!"
After Flowey said this, the child's soul appeared in the shape of a red heart in the middle of her chest, as her body slightly faded in color.
"See that heart? That is your SOUL, the very culmination of your being! Your SOUL starts off weak, but can grow strong if you gain a lot of LV. What's LV stand for? Why, LOVE, of course!" Flowey explained, his smile consistent.
+ I didn't even ask anything!
"You want some LOVE don't you? Don't worry, I'll share some with you," Flowey said with a wink as he stuck his tongue out slightly, and the child's one eyebrow raised.
+ Ugh! I don't want love from you, Flower!
"Down here, LOVE is shared through… Little white… "friendliness pellets."" Flowey said, a few white pellets floating up above him as his eyes shifted to the side.
+ Look at that eye shift! I see it! He's a liar!
"Are you ready? Move around! Get as many as you can!" Flowey said as he sent the little white pellets towards the child's soul.
+ Heck no. Don't touch them!
The human child dodged the pellets as instructed, and the friendly face of Flowey dropped to a more annoyed smile. This reoccurred a few more times until Flowey showed a much darker expression and said,
"You know what's going on here, don't you? You just wanted to see me suffer."
+ Well maybe I do, you seem too aggressive!
– Yeah that's right! Suffer!
A ring of friendliness pellets surrounded the child as the ring grew smaller while Flowey cackled,
"Die!"
Right before the pellets could harm their soul, the pellets suddenly disappeared, and Flowey was struck by a fireball that sent him flying away.
"What a terrible creature, torturing such a poor, innocent youth..." a soft voice said as she stepped forward to reveal herself as a white, short-horned goat monster with purple garments and a symbol of wings and three triangles on the chest.
"Ah, do not be afraid, my child. I am Toriel, caretaker of the Ruins. I pass through this place everyday to see if anyone has fallen down. You are the first human to come here in a long time. Come! I will guide you through the catacombs. This way," She said with a gentle smile and kindness in her red eyes.
+ Oh, she saved us.– Kill her!+ Why? You can't even fight her now.
– She's a creep, and she wanted to keep me hostage as her child! Any moment she'll turn like the flower and attack!
+ You can't blame the flower on everyone.
– Yes I can!
The child followed after Toriel as she led her through the Ruins, and she was intrigued by her, but a little timid considering how much taller Toriel was compared to the other monsters she encountered. She also noticed how intimated the monsters were around her, which made her feel a little safer that she was on her side. When Toriel tested her independence by leaving her to walk to the end of a long hall alone, the human did so fearlessly, and Toriel rewarded her with praise at being able to do so. After giving her a cell phone to keep contact with her, Toriel went ahead and asked the child to wait since she had business to attend to and didn't want her to travel through the Ruins alone, however curiosity got the best of them, so the child wandered through the Ruins alone, but still determined.
+ Hmm, I wonder if it's really possible not to kill anyone…
– Or to kill everyone.
+ Hmmmm…
The child encountered some monsters and spared them along her way while solving puzzles that were present throughout the Ruins. She then came across a block in the road, which she realized was actually a ghost laying on a bed of red leaves. Upon realizing that the ghost was faking to be asleep, the child tried to push him out of the way, which made the ghost gloomily rise up to battle with the child's soul appearing. The child checked to see that the ghost's name was Napstablook, he wasn't eager to battle, and he looked very sad as his attacks consisted of his own tears.
+ Aww, he's so sad.
The child followed instructions as she decided to cheer for him by giving a patient smile. This seemed to make him feel a littler better, so the human decided to tell him a little joke, which helped to improve his mood a little more. Upon wanting to cheer him again, Napstablook decided to use his tears to actually create a neat hat upon his head.
"i call it "dapperblook." do you like it…?" the ghost asked as he eagerly awaited her response.
Upon seeing a thumbs up and a kind smile from the child, Napstablook felt much happier and said,
"oh gee… i usually come to the ruins because there's nobody around… but today i met somebody nice… oh i'm rambling again. i'll get out of your way."
Napstablook faded away, and after a moment, the child continued on her journey. She found two webs and offered some gold pieces since it was for a spider bake sale, and she was given a spider doughnut for the donation. As she continued on her way, she met three helpful frogs along with a tiny one, and met a few other monsters she became friends with and spared along the way.
– Why haven't you killed anyone yet?
+ I just want to see if it's possible to spare them without having to fight.
– Oh, alright.
+ Then I'll kill anyone who gets in my way, or until I'm frustrated.
Eventually the human came across a balcony to see the whole Ruins, which was mostly made of old-looking purple buildings, and a Toy Knife that she picked up and carried with her. Afterward, she found a dark tree with red leaves littered around the bottom of it, and then she heard Toriel's voice as she saw the goat monster walk over to her in surprise to see her there.
"How did you get here, my child? Are you hurt?" the goat lady worried, as she checked over the child to make sure she was okay.
The child ensured that she was fine, and Toriel admitted that it was still irresponsible for her to leave her alone to surprise her, although she became a little embarrassed realizing she kind of spoiled the surprise she had planned for her.
"Well, I suppose I cannot hide it any longer. Come small one!" Toriel said cheerfully, as she lead the child into her house.
+ A surprise? What could that be?
– She's going to stab you!
+ We'll see. If she tries anything, I'll just fight her.
Toriel revealed the surprise to be a butterscotch-cinnamon pie, which would be better than giving her a snail pie since she wanted her first day living there to be pleasant on arrival. Then she brought her down the yellow hallway that was right of the brown staircase when entering the house to a bedroom that Toriel offered for the human to have as her own. As Toriel went to check if her food was burning, the human entered the room to have a look inside and saw that it was a normal child's room that was mostly red and white. The human walked out of her new room and down the hallway to another room that she assumed was Toriel's room, and discovered that the goat lady seems to like puns considering a book that had a pun circled in red. Afterward, the human decided to go to sleep in her room since she was a little tired.
+ Oh cool, we can sleep.
– But the pie!
+ Oh no! I forgot to get a slice!
When the child woke up from her nap, she noticed a slice of butterscotch-cinnamon pie near her bed and took it.
+ The pie! She must have left it.
– Oh good, she left it.
The child walked across the hallway, passed the staircase to the next room, which was where Toriel was sitting near the fireplace while reading a book with her glasses on. The human and Toriel spoke for a while, mostly Toriel since she was explaining a few facts to her and that she was going to educate her and take care of her.
+ Wow, she really wants to take care of us.
– I still say she's evil…
+ But she gave me pie, and didn't fight me like the other monsters.
– Still!
+ Well, I'm going to try to leave now. I want to explore.
When the child asked if she could leave to go home, Toriel grew nervous and tried to talk about other things to ignore the request. But the constant asking to go home from the child finally made Toriel close her book and stand up as she said she had something to take care of and leave the room. The human decided to follow after her to see where she was going, and followed her down the staircase.
+ What the heck?
– Ha! You'll see she's evil now!
The child followed Toriel down a long purple hallway as Toriel would protest every few steps:
"You wish to know how to return "home," do you not? Ahead of us lies the end of the Ruins. A one-way exit to the rest of the underground. I am going to destroy it. No one will ever be able to leave here again… Every human that falls down here meets the same fate. I have seen it again and again. They come. They leave. They die. You naive child… If you leave the Ruins… They… Asgore… will kill you. I am only protecting you, do you understand… Do not try to stop me. This is your final warning."
+ Hey! I go when I say I go! I can handle myself!
– Oh man!
When they reached the end of the hallway to a room with a tall purple door, Toriel said,
"You want to leave so badly? Hmph. You are just like the others. There is only one solution to this. Prove yourself… Prove to me you are strong enough to survive."
The room darkened as the child's soul appeared and Toriel turned towards her with a serious expression.
+ Oh snap! I have to fight her?!
– Oh man oh man!
+ But I don't want to! I just want to go by…
The child stood her ground as she tried to reason with Toriel but she felt like Toriel could see right through her.
+ What can I do?! She's throwing fire balls but I can't talk to her!
– Did you try to just spare?
+ … Oh yeah! Spare powers activate!
- … How did you forget that…?
The child stood her ground more firmly, and she decided to spare Toriel multiple times during the fight, as Toriel realized this and instructed her to attack or run away. However, the human stood her ground from Toriel's instructions and protest, not wanting to fight her but not giving up either. Her expression grew sad as Toriel recognized this and began to feel bad as she said,
"I know you want to go home, but… I promise I will take good care of you here… I know we do not have much, but… We can have a good life here… Why are you making this so difficult? Please, go upstairs…"
The child frowned each time, recognizing Toriel's good intentions but needing to go forward.
"… I know you want to take care of me, and that's very kind of you, but… I feel I need to go. I appreciate what you've done for me and wanted to do for me, I won't forget it… but I can't stay here. I need to go. Please, Ms. Toriel?" The child said, and Toriel's frown grew longer.
After a moment, Toriel sadly smiled and said, "Ha ha… Pathetic, is it not? I cannot save even a single child."
"… Ms. Toriel, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"
"No, I understand. You would just be unhappy trapped down here. The Ruins are very small once you get used to them. It would not be right for you to grow up in a place like this. My expectations… My loneliness… My fear… For you, my child… I will put them aside" Toriel said, and the human's soul faded as their surroundings returned to normal.
"If you truly wish to leave the Ruins… I will not stop you. However, when you leave… Please do not come back… I hope you understand," Toriel said, as she hugged the child and she hugged her back.
+ Wow, this was pretty… dramatic.
– Why is she hugging you?!
+ I guess she feels bad.
"Goodbye, my child," Toriel released the child and walked away, as she gave her one last look and then went back to her home.
The child looked back for only a moment, and then went ahead through the door through another hallway to meet the same flower from before, this time his face had a suspicious smile.
"Clever. Verrrryyy clever. You think you're really smart, don't you? In this world, it's kill or be killed. So you were able to play by your own rules… You didn't kill anybody this time… But what will you do if you meet a relentless killer… What will you do then? Will you kill out of frustration?"
+ Gasp! He read my earlier mind...
"Or will you give up entirely on this world… and let ME inherit the power to control it? I am the prince of this world's future. Don't worry, my little monarch, my plan isn't regicide. This is SO much more interesting," with a cold and terrible laugh, Flowey left by diving underground, leaving the human with the eerie silence of the room and more questions and concerns than answers.
But she felt determined to still move forward passed this.
+ ….
– He's a creep. What is he planning?
+ … Nothing good.
The child continued onward, as they felt a newfound determination awake in them, and then they passed through the door out of the Ruins.
+ … If I kill… would I become like that flower… or worse… No, I won't then. I'll only hunt the flower if I see him again… I won't kill anyone else but him…
Bed of Golden Flowers:
"… Huh. I didn't know flowers could grow down here," A lady from the surface said, as she knelt down to the golden flowers to observe them closely.
Her eyes were purple as they glistened under the beam of light, her hair was black in a high ponytail with blue tips as the hair in the ponytail reached just under her shoulders, and the hair on the sides of her bangs reached her chin. Her clothes consisted of a jean jacket and matching jean skirt with a black shirt and black pants, along with a purple scarf around her neck and purple boots with blue soles. A lone fang poked out from her mouth, as she carefully reached for a golden flower since she didn't want to accidentally cut one with her short black claws, even though they weren't very sharp at this time. As she smelled the flowers, she picked up different scents, but one in particular caught her attention.
"This scent isn't a monster… it's a human… a human fell down here? They must be injured..."
The lady looked up as her eyebrow arched.
"Odd that I didn't catch it earlier, but this scent seems oddly fresh… they just passed through here not too long ago," the lady said as she stood up.
"Considering from what I've gathered, they wouldn't be safe down here… I'd have to find them before it's too late. Maybe I can help them," the lady said, as she walked through the passageway.
:') I've missed writing...
