Chapter 6: Sorting and bullies.
All of the first years had gotten out of the boats after they floated into a cave. Hermione and Draco stood next to each other well behind the large group.
"We can't mess with Time, Draco," Hermione whispered to him.
"But if I was in Gryffindor, it would help me, being just right there," he whispered low to her, glancing over his shoulder every now and then.
"No. You have to be in Slytherin. I know it's not going to be easy down there, but to keep things simply on track, you have to be in Slytherin," She whispered back, looking over his shoulder too.
Draco heavily sighed and whispered "Alright, but"
"You two! Over here!" Hagrid yelled at them as the group was now going up the long stair case.
Hermione took Draco's hand; lacing her fingers with his and they walked through the cave to the staircase. Draco didn't know what to think of their hands being joined liked this.
"Don't you fall in love with Weasley?" He whispered very, very low to her as they were in the courtyard now.
Hermione didn't say anything, for she herself was trying to just get through the events of this first new year of school.
Draco looked confused but didn't push it.
WHAM! WHAM! WHAM!
It made Draco jump in fright as he saw Hagrid pounding, again, on the solid massive wooden doors to the castle.
"Got yer first years, Professor," He said to whoever was on the other side of the door.
"Let them in, Hagrid," he heard the woman's voice.
The doors opened as everyone waited around where Professor McGonagall stood at the top of the stairs.
"Please come here, students. Thank you," She said to them.
Everyone walked up to her nervously.
"Welcome to Hogwarts. The start-of-the-term ceremony will begin shortly but, before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sorted into your houses. The Sorting is a very important ceremony because, while you are here, your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your house, sleep in your house dormitory and spend free time in your house common room," Professor McGonagall began to tell them all. "The four houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Each house has its own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your house points, while any rule-breaking will lose house points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the House Cup, a great honor. I hope each of you will be a credit to whichever house becomes yours. The Sorting Ceremony will take place in a few minutes in front of the rest of the school. I suggest you all smarted yourselves up as much as you can while you are waiting,"
Her eyes lingered for a moment on Neville's cloak, which was fastened under his left ear, and on Ron's smudged nose. Harry nervously tried to flatten his hair.
"I will return when we are ready for you," said Professor McGonagall. "Please wait quietly,"
She walked behind another massive set of wooden doors.
Everyone waited, and waited, and waited.
'It took us forever to get into the Great Hall the last time too. Merlin, why can't they just hurry up?' He scolded silently.
Draco stared uninterested at the ground; he wanted to go inside as he was hungry.
"You really need to get a hold of his attention!" They all heard one female's voice.
"And exactly how can I do that?" another female asked back.
"Well…Oh! First years!" the first woman said when she spotted the large group.
"Who are you two?" a student among the group asked.
"I am Monika, the ghost of Hufflepuff. This is Lady Clare Regina of Keet. She's in Ravenclaw," Monika said back to them.
"But there are no female ghosts of Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw?" Hermione spoke up, looking confused at them.
"The history books have painted us a different in names but, welcome to Hogwarts first years!" Lady Clare Regina of Keet said, floating through the walls.
Just then Professor McGonagall came back out and said "We're ready for you now. In twos, follow me please,"
So in twos they walked as the huge double doors opened to the Great Hall. Everyone was in Awe as Draco and Hermione were bringing up the rear.
"What do you mean that they aren't real?" Draco whispered low to her, bypassing other older students.
"Nowhere in Hogwarts, A History, does it state their names. I've read Hogwarts, A History before we came to the castle," She whispered back, having some difficulty as they were walking.
Draco took that row, pushed Hermione over to his left and they kept walking. It was nothing to him, but he knew that something would happen within this timeline for Hermione then him.
"Gather around here. When I call your names, I will place this hat on your head and you will sorted into your house," Professor McGonagall told them all as she took out a very long scroll that was settled on the stool next to the old dirty hat.
So, the sorting began with Susan Bones.
"Remember, Slytherin, Draco," Hermione whispered low to him.
"I won't, now shush. I want to hear this," Draco whispered back, holding her hand.
Hermione was a little unsure of what was going on, with her and Draco, but they did say that they were a couple.
'What about Ron? Haven't I had feelings for him? But in this time line he's a complete stranger and we're only 11 years old,' she frantically thought to herself.
"Hermione Granger?" she heard her name.
Draco gently pushed their way to the front of the group as Hermione blinked to the present and then walked over to the stool. Sitting down, the last person she saw was Draco who looked hopeful?
"Hmm…interesting. Plenty of knowledge I see…wary of your talents? My dear girl you will be more confident of them as you grow. Oh yes…now…which house to put you in?" She heard the hiss in her ear.
"Gryffindor, please," she thought to the hat.
"Gryffindor? But Ravenclaw is where you belong…though if you're sure….GRYFFINDOR!" the hat then screamed the last word loudly.
She took off the hat, handed it to Professor McGonagall who smiled a little more at her. She walked over to the table where her fellow Gryffindors were at.
"Nice of you to join Gryffindor. I'm Percy, a Prefect," he said, shaking her hand.
"Nice to meet you as well, Percy," she said, looking over to when Draco's name was called up.
Hermione nervously bit her lower lip when the hat fell onto his head.
'It didn't last time,' she thought, wringing her fingers.
"If he doesn't get placed here, it will be ok," An older girl whispered to Hermione.
"Thank you," Hermione whispered back, forcing a failed smile but, looked at the boy who had the hat on his head.
"SLYTHERIN!" the hat yelled finally.
Hermione saw that Draco had paled a little, stood up and walked over to the house of Snakes.
"Harry Potter," Professor McGonagall said to the next person.
Everyone whispered to each other excitedly. When harry nervously walked up to the stool, sat down with the hat over his eyes, everyone waited.
It was a lot longer than Draco's as everyone was waiting for the house that Harry would be put in.
"GRYFFINDOR!" The hat finally shouted to everyone.
There was a loud cheer from the Gryffindor table with the Weasley twins shouting "WE GOT POTTER! WE GOT POTTER!"
Hermione's stomach twisted when she heard Fred's voice.
'Not now, memory,' she scolded to herself.
Her eyes scanned over on their own, towards the table where she saw Draco ignoring someone who was talking to him.
His eyes looked up and locked with hers.
So much had happened within minutes of being at Hogwarts but it feels like life time already.
Draco raised his empty goblet to her. Hermione gripped the bench that she was sitting on to keep her from getting up and walking over to him. She forced herself to take her empty goblet and raised it back to him.
The action didn't go unnoticed by the Slytherins.
Did Hermione suggest of him being in Slytherin was the wrong advice to say? She knew that from tonight onward, Draco will have the most difficulty of just getting through this year and the others to come.
Harry walked over to her, sat down and whispered "I'm sorry for Draco being in Slytherin,"
"He can…." She began but failed to say anything more.
Harry nodded in understanding and gently patted her shoulders.
After the last student was sorted into their house, an older wizard with long white beard stood up. Hermione looked at him closely.
He had softer features, kinder blue eyes; almost looking like Santa clause, but it was Dumbledore through and through.
"Welcome to those who are new to us. And Welcome to those who have been here before. I would like to state, that Forbidden forest, is forbidden. And on the 3rd floor corridor, on the right hand side is strictly out of bounds who don't want to wish a most painful death. Without further ado, let the feast begin," Professor Dumbledore simply said and the food appeared.
Gasps from the first years could be heard but, that was quickly forgotten as they all started to eat.
Hermione watched as Draco stood up, catching everyone's eye.
'What are you doing, Malfoy?' she desperately thought as she saw him walk closer and closer to her.
"Draco, you can't" She whispered low to him.
"Who bloody cares," He grumbles back, sitting down and gathering his plate up.
No one said anything. No one did anything for they didn't know how to go back to eating.
It was then that they all heard something like that of rip. Everyone turned to the Sorting Hat.
"In times of old, when I was new,
And Hogwarts barely started,
The founders of our noble school
Thought never to be parted.
United by a common goal,
They had the selfsame yearning
To make the world's best magic school
And pass along their learning.
"Together we will build and teach"
The four good friends decided.
And never did they dream that they
Might someday be divided.
For were there such friends anywhere
As Slytherin and Gryffindor?
Unless it was the second pair
Unless it was the second pair
Of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw,
So how could it have gone so wrong?
How could such friendships fail?
Why, I was there, so I can tell
The whole sad, sorry tale.
Said Slytherin, "We'll teach just those
Whose ancestry's purest."
Said Ravenclaw, "We'll teach those whose
Intelligence is surest"
Said Gryffindor, "We'll teach all those
With brave deeds to their name."
Said Hufflepuff, "I'll teach the lot
And treat them just the same."
These differences caused little strife
When first they came to light.
For each of the four founders had
A house in which they might
Take only those they wanted, so,
For instance, Slytherin
Took only pure-blood wizards
Of great cunning just like him.
And only those of sharpest mind
Were taught by Ravenclaw
While the bravest and the boldest
Went to daring Gryffindor
Good Hufflepuff, she took the rest
And taught them all she knew,
Thus, the Houses and their founders
Maintained friendships firm and true.
So Hogwarts worked in harmony
For several happy years,
But then discord crept among us
Feeding on our faults and fears.
The Houses that, like pillars four
Had once held up our school
Now turned upon each other and
Divided, sought to rule.
And for a while it seemed the school
Must meet an early end.
What with dueling and with fighting
And the clash of friend on friend.
And at last there came a morning
When old Slytherin departed
And though the fighting then died out
He left us quite downhearted.
And never since the founders four
Were whittled down to three
Have the Houses been united
As they once were meant to be.
And now the Sorting Hat is here
And you all know the score:
I sort you into Houses
Because that is what I'm for.
But this year I'll go further,
Listen closely to my song:
Though condemned I am to split you
Still I worry that it's wrong,
Though I must fulfill my duty
And must quarter every year
Still I wonder whether sorting
May not bring the end I fear.
Oh, know the perils, read the signs,
The warning history shows,
For our Hogwarts is in danger
From external, deadly foes
And we must unite inside her
Or we'll crumble from within
I have told you, I have warned you…"
No one knew what to do after this either.
Hermione looked over at Draco who went back to eating his dinner.
Slowly, so slowly, everyone copied Draco as Dumbledore was the only one who clapped for the Hat's song.
"What did you do?" Hermione hissed low to Draco.
"Nothing," he said, wiping his mouth with a napkin.
"No, you did something otherwise the sorting hat wouldn't have said that song from year 5!" She hissed ever lower to him.
Draco looked up at that and asked "Year 5?"
"Yes! Now, what did you do, Draco?" Hermione whispered, looking around her as everyone started to speak but also get up and move to other tables with their friends.
Hermione was now at a complete loss of words or thought. During her time, everyone stayed within their houses. Now, after what Draco had done, with the sorting hat stating its song, everyone started to mingle.
Draco leaned closer to Hermione and whispered "It wanted to know why I kept a much closed door image to it. It kept asking and wanting in, until I let it see. I guess it took matters into its own hands and said that song if you will, to us now,"
"Draco, that-"
"The other counterparts of us are not here! We're not seeing our other selves, Granger! Admit it, this is the timeline that we are in. We can change things, probably for the better or worse. But this is it," Draco cut her off, almost glaring at her.
Hermione sighed, slowly eating her food again. Draco put more food on her plate.
"Then what can we do?" She asked him, trying to think things through now.
"Go through the events, like we know them to but when it comes to the very bad ones…maybe, try to change them for the good," Draco suggested to her.
"If the outcome of it is something far worse," she began but shook her head.
Draco nodded.
They all ate what they could, the meals disappeared and desserts popped up in their places.
Hermione has taken some chocolate bars and put them in her robe for later. Draco had vanilla strawberry shortcake.
"Here," he said, handing her another spoon.
"But-?!"
"Eat it," He interrupted her, holding the spoon.
With a heavy sigh, Hermione took the spoon and put it into her mouth. It was very rich in flavor, but also tart from the strawberries.
"Good yeah?" he smiled at her.
"Hey Percy. Who's that sitting beside Professor Quirrell?" Harry's voice cut into their little world as Hermione snapped her head to Harry.
"That's Professor Severus Snape. He teaches Potions and head of Slytherin," Percy answered him.
"Harry, are you alright?" Ron asked him then.
Harry felt the pain shoot through him when he stared at Professor Snape directly.
"Yeah…I'm fine," Harry told him with determined eyes locked on Professor Snape.
Draco looked at Hermione and whispered "What's up with Potter and his scar? I know it's not a normal cut,"
Hermione looked around then whispered very, very low "Lord Voldemort's soul is in Harry. It's the reason why he went to the forbidden forest, so that Lord Voldemort could kill that hidden horcruxe within him. So that when Neville killed the snake that Lord Voldemort had with him at all times, Lord Voldemort was finally deemed mortal enough to be killed,"
"What is that?" Draco asked her, his eyes locked on her.
"A horcruxe is where you do something horrible in order for your soul to be ripped and attached to an item or object. In Harry's case…the murder of his mother before Lord Voldemort tried to kill him when he was an infant. So in order for it to attach to something that night, it attached to Harry instead," She explained it very simply to Draco, looking at her plate.
"That's why you and Potter with Weasley….That night when you were brought to the manor…" He whispered back, paling.
"We were there to hunt and destroy them. Just can we do it again is the thing," Hermione continued to whisper.
Draco took some chocolate bars and put them in his robes for later as he was a little pale.
Just like dinner, the desserts were gone too as Professor Dumbledore stood up and said "Now, just one more thing before we go off to bed and start a new term. The School song,"
"Oh no," Hermione moaned, hiding her face in her arms.
"Picked your favorite tone? Then off we go!" professor Dumbledore said, smiling.
"Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts,
Teach us something, please,
Whether we be bald or old,
Or young with scabby knees,
Our heads could do with filling,
With some interesting stuff,
Now they're bare and full of air,
Dead flies and bits of fluff,
So teach us things worth knowing,
Bring back what we've forgot,
Just do your best, we'll do the rest,
And learn until our brains all rot,"
Draco leaned over the table to Hermione and whispered "They could have picked betters words for it,"
"For once, I agree with you, Draco," She said, when they all heard it.
Tears sprang up in Hermione eye's as she looked at Draco: The Twins were singing a very slow funeral tone to the song.
Professor Dumbledore helped them by conducting their tone. When it was finally over; after Draco was glaring pointedly at the twins.
"Ah, music. Ever beyond that of magic of its own. Now, off to bed!" Professor Dumbledore said to them all.
Hermione was doing alright for the first week of school. The students here were highly stranger than she remembered of them in her time line.
They always had friends. Always talked down if someone wasn't within their "clique". Something Hermione hated from her muggle school.
Whenever Hermione saw that they had Slytherin, she would always try to figure out how Draco was doing. So far, he only sits down with her at meal times.
She had found the Transfiguration classroom without a problem and sat down. Everyone else who saw the tabby cat at once looked for their seats and started to do their school work.
Someone slid in next to her as she glanced up.
"Draco!" she whispered low, but it got the tabby cat to look in her direction.
"Shush, later," Draco barely moved his lips.
Rolling her eyes, Hermione went back to writing on her parchment.
What happened next had Hermione glancing up at the chalk board but then going back to her parchment as she pulled something under it.
"Granger,
We need to meet. Somewhere that isn't in the dungeons.
Later tonight, please.
Draco"
WHAM!
It made all students look up and behind them as Ron and Harry run into the classroom.
"Phew! We made it!" Ron exclaimed smiling.
It was then that the tabby cat jumped into the air, but Hermione whispered low "Where? The Room of requirements?"
"Yes," she heard Draco whisper faintly back.
"Then perhaps a map! I trust you know where to find your seats!" Professor McGonagall words cut in.
Her mind raced with questions and she couldn't help but whispered "What's going on?"
"Not now, Granger," Draco hissed in warning.
Professor McGonagall saw this interaction; she wasn't going to interrupt it by any means as she saw the two students work together. However, she will step in whenever it deems worthy.
For the rest of the classroom and that afternoon, Hermione wanted to know. What was going with Draco? Why was he wincing every now and then or stop breathing? What happens down in the Snake pit where she isn't with him?
Hermione had to wait, there was nothing more that she could do.
When she tripped and fell flat on her stomach; her arms full of holding her books, she let out of "Oof!"
Laughter. That's all she could hear was laughter.
"Well, well. What do we have here boys? An ugly little mudblood," she said the smooth voice of a boy.
She glanced over her shoulder and saw that it was Zabini. Ignoring him, she got up but was knocked down again.
"AH!" She yelped, falling again to the ground; hitting her forehead.
Crabbe and Goyle laughed harder as Blaise Zabini just smirked at Hermione.
What happened next just made things even worse.
Someone had walked right up to him, wand directly under his chin.
"Get away from her," Draco's calm whisper seethed with hatred for them.
Kids of all years stopped and watched. The Prefects that were around were watching.
Hermione tried her damnest to not cry, but a tear had welled up and trickled down her nose as she slowly got to her feet. She forgot her books for a moment.
"And if we don't, blood-traitor?" Blaise dared Draco in front of everybody.
"Look around, Zabini. Do you honestly think that the prefects; who are watching us, would actually help you if you did anything to us?" Draco hissed low, sneering at him.
Zabini glanced over his shoulder and saw that the Prefects were getting their wands out just in case.
"Apologize to Hermione," Draco glared at the boy in front of him.
"What is going on here?" They heard Professor McGonagall's voice rang out.
It snapped everyone out of this weird spell as they all hurried away; except the prefects.
"Mr. Malfoy," Professor McGonagall said in shock "Please lower your wand,"
"I will if he won't hurt Hermione like he did and called her that foul name of her kind," Draco said back, not looking away.
"Is this True, Mr. Zabini?" Professor McGonagall then looked hard at the Slytherin.
"Malfoy has it all wrong, I was just-"
"You liar! Professor, I was here, I saw the whole thing. This brat of a first year, tripped his peer here and called her a…a …a mudblood. And when she ignored him, he tripped her again for the second time!" a 5th year witch stepped forward, glaring Blaise.
"You what? Mr. Zabini, you will follow me at once. Mr. Malfoy, thank you," Professor McGonagall looked at him with gratitude and then ushered Zabini out of their sight.
"If you need any of us; probably not the Slytherin Prefects, but if you need us, we're here first years," The 5th year witch told them both, smiling.
"Thanks," Draco said to her, nodding his head.
"Thank you," Hermione whispered low, not looking at anyone now.
The prefects left the two be.
Draco put his wand away and honestly didn't know what to do. It was always Potter who handled these kinds of things.
'Ah, but Potter isn't here,' his mind hissed at him.
Shaking his head a little, Draco walked over to Hermione and then did what he knew Potter would do: he hugged Hermione.
Now, of all the times that Draco had stood up for Hermione on the Train to Hogwarts, it was him saying it. Just, he always thought that Hermione and Potter would be best of friends where, Draco didn't really need to step in.
Though, Draco was mistaken. He couldn't understand why Potter wasn't here to protect Hermione from Zabini.
"I hate them!" Hermione said, not like last time.
"Granger, why aren't you friends with Potter yet?" Draco asked her, worriedly.
"Huh? What? What do you mean? Draco…." She asked, then looked around them.
The courtyard was empty.
She walked over to him and whispered "Harry, Ron and I weren't friends until Halloween night. When they saved me from that cave troll. After that, yeah, we were thick as thieves, but now, no. I'm on my own,"
Draco was stunned!
"What? What do you mean that you're not friends with him?" he asked her.
"I just told you. We were not friends until Halloween night. When Professor Quirrell was trying to get to the 3rd floor corridor," she whispered more to him.
With a glance around them, Draco then whispered "Come on,"
"What? Now? Draco, we can't!" Hermione said to him.
He waved his wand; nonverbal, her books moved up and into her arms again.
Hermione stared at him and then said "If you or I do this"
"No one has seen us yet. Now, come on. I can careless of classes right now," Draco cut her off, pulling her to the staircases.
When they got to the 7th floor, walked down the hallways and to where the Room was at, Draco halted. Hermione was nearly out of breath from just keeping up with Draco.
The door appeared and Draco gently pushed Hermione in first.
Hermione looked around and asked "You picked this for the room?"
"Granger, no one comes here unless they are up really late at night. Besides, it's not just me who is in on this," He said, looking pointedly at her.
Hermione walked over to a couch and just sat down on it.
Biting his lower lip, Draco wondered on what to do.
"I know that you're just trying to help, Draco, and I do appreciate it, but…." Hermione trailed off, tears trickling down her face.
"Granger, I hate to admit this aloud, but, you're all I got from our world," Draco said to her, slowly walking over to her. "I may have a change of ….thinking…of you and others like you, but if you die….what can I do?"
Hermione looked at him and then said "You go on. You make sure that you try your damnest to get back to our timeline. If it were the case, you make sure that you keep going, Draco,"
Draco softly rubbed his forehead and said "That's a tall order, Granger. Alright, I'll keep going even if it's going to kill Potter of hearing it,"
"Why did you stop them, Draco?" Hermione then asked, changing the subject a little.
Draco then stood right in front of her and knelt down. He was buying some time because he had to get his thoughts in order.
"Granger…what I'm about to say cannot leave these walls. Out there, we can act a little like our older selves, but in here….those reminders per say, are gone," He said, locking his pale grey eyes with her warm brown eyes.
Hermione slowly nodded, listening to his every word.
"I can't let History repeat itself with you. I know that the mark that my demented mad aunt is still on your forearm. I know that if they ever see that….all bets are off when it comes to bullying you. Trust me when I say, I know you can handle yourself damn well against bullies," He told her, resting his knee on the ground.
"But when they see that someone of pureblood has already marked me…." She continued, looking into his eyes with pure worry and a touch of sadness. "They will come at me with full force,"
"Exactly. What I can do, if it's possible, is to go to Diagon Alley this holiday and buy you some long sleeved clothes," He said, standing and then sitting next to her.
"Draco you don't have to do that for me. Don't get me wrong, I thank you whole heartedly for standing up for me and wanting to buy the clothes, but…." Hermione trailed off.
"It's not how I act? Granger, unless you have forgotten, we both have been in this war since our First year. I saw and heard you get torture by my aunt, in my very own home. And you honestly think that wouldn't change my way of thinking of you or anyone else who is muggleborn?" Draco said back to her.
Leaning completely back against the couch, Hermione closed her eyes and whispered "In many ways I wish this didn't happen. I wish that Tom Riddle never exist,"
Draco smirked and then said "So do all who see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us,"
"You read a muggle book?" Hermione asked in pure shock.
"What was I suppose to do all summer, Granger? Twiddle my thumbs?" He retorted back, still smiling.
"I'm utterly speechless," she said, trying to wrap her mind around it.
Draco chuckled and then leaned against the couch, closing his eyes.
"Draco…" Hermione began, biting her lower lip in worry "Why are you wincing?"
"I'm fine Granger," he mumbled, not opening his eyes.
"Come on, you practically dragged me up here to see if I was ok from the bullies of your house. What is going on where I'm not there to help you?" she pressed for more.
His eyes slid open and then said "Nothing you need to worry about. Professor Snape knows what is going on. So please, just leave it alone,"
Standing up, Hermione paced and said "I can't do that, Draco. I know that you are"
Draco stood up and slowly walked over to her. Hermione took a step back until her back hit something solid.
Draco wasn't letting up until he was inches from her face and whispered "Leave it be, Granger. I know you want to save me and I know that what goes on in Slytherin has been on your mind; I see your worried glances and questionable face, but I am asking you this time: leave it alone,"
Hermione swallowed with slowly nodding to him.
Draco then sighed before he wrapped his arms around her and whispered "I'm sorry if I scared you there. It's not what I meant to do to you. Just please, please, leave it,"
"If I see you limping or whatever Draco, I will bring it back up and I will not heed to your requests. My warning to you in the future," she said, wrapping her arms around him in their hug.
"Duly noted, sugar," he teased her.
"Uhg!" she smiled.
Draco chuckled and then said "Want to get our homework out of the way?"
"Since we're here, sure," she said, pulling out her wand and doing non-verbal spells to get a bookshelf with some books with a desk for them to work on.
Draco felt bad for Hermione. He knows that she was just trying to help him, but how could she when they were in different houses?
His mind went back to the sorting hat of this timeline.
"You do not belong in Slytherin, not anymore," The sorting hat had hissed in his ear.
'But I need to be sorted into Slytherin, sorting hat!' he thought back to him.
"Then, show me what you are hiding," the sorting hat had whispered.
And so, Draco showed the hat through his memories everything. How Lord Voldemort had slowly gained his power back a second time; the school taken over by Death Eaters several times over before the battle within it. How student was against student; teacher against teacher. Everything.
"My, my…" The sorting hat whispered in sadness.
'I have to prevent this from happening again, Sorting hat. At least change some things,' Draco confessed to the sorting hat.
"You may do that, but in order for you to succeed now…you are right. SLYTHERIN is your path," the sorting hat told him.
Draco wondered what else the hat actually saw of him. What other house would he be in?
Shaking his head, Draco got the books as Hermione started writing their homework.
Author's Note:
Hello! Hello! Liked this story so far? Give it a follow! I update every Wednesday's, so don't miss out! Is it your favorite? Why thank you, you are too kind. No, really, you are too kind for favoriting it. Want to tell me what you honestly think of it. I got my shields ready, so don't be afraid to give me a review! (Don't forget, if I miss an update on Wednesday, you can in a joking manner, Blast me in a review for being late)
Dear god this was close to impossible on what to do with Draco and sorting him. I know that many of you are like "KEEP IN CANON!" and I'm just thinking of how Draco was after the war. He changed a lot since then and even in the Behind the Scenes of making the last 2 movies, you see Draco throw a wand to Harry because he knows that siding with Voldemort was the Wrong choice to make.
So, I kept Draco in Slytherin. HAPPY!? Uhg. But I also know that this is a fanfic.
If you find any errors, I will come back and fix them later.
Hope you all like this,
