A/N: Apologise in advance since I might end up making some mistakes some times, just wanted to say that in advanced. Also, this story will have both dark and also the occasional swearing in it, so if you can't deal with that, then I apologise.

"How did it come to this...?"
The voice of a groaning young male could be heard from within a black endless void could be heard, the male, appearing to be around the age of thirteen, though he had eyes that were far more mature than what you would normally see a child having. He was seemingly staring at a bunch of text in front of his face that was glowing.
He had fair skin and a lean yet decently sculpted build, having a pair of crimson red eyes and also straight midnight black hair with vibrant red bangs. His outfit consisted of tight black pants along with a tight black t-shirt that stuck well to his body, wearing white running shoes along with a black fingerless glove on his right hand. Finally, around his neck were a pair of black headphones with red glowing LEDs on each speaker.
This person was none other than Kazuki Yujimoto, a young man who had unfortunately met his end due to some drunk driver that had ended up making an impact with him by swerving off the road. He had no doubt the man was dead just like him, he had only stayed alive for a few seconds after the impact to see the destruction that was caused, along with the flames.
Though, what he had not accounted for after having perished was to find himself in this void. When he arrived, he had heard a strange voice speak to him, it didn't sound as if it was an actual person, but kind of like an automatically scripted voice. It had spoken about him being reincarnated as something called 'The Gamer'.
He knew it sounded familiar, and after some thought, he had realised it was just like the situation those fanfictions were where the character lives the life similar to that if they were a video game character, it was a strange concept. Now, he has found himself in that very position as he had his arms crossed as he gave a sigh.
He was glad that his life was about to become rather interesting, but did he really have to die and leave everything he loved behind? He wasn't one to blame anyone, so he wasn't going to be angry at the driver despite it being their fault for driving while drunk. He shook his head as he just needed to move on, there was no point moping about it.
When entering and the first hearing of the news, one of the first things he saw were the stats that he had, though it appeared that the categories such as strength, agility, etc were all set to zero. Now, he was being asked to decide on what race he wanted to be reincarnated as, the words and choices in front of him.
Your previous life has been judged and has been decided that you were living a nice and happy life, one that you spent well and helped anyone you could. The races that have been chosen for your own choices have been decided in accordance with this. Please choose now.
Dragon: A race of powerful beasts who rule both the land the sky, capable of all kinds of feats. They're known for their incredible powers and physical capabilities. [+350 STR] [+100 AGI] [+200 VIT] [+250 MAG] [+50 INT] [+600 HP] [Rank: S]
Phoenix: Mystical birds of folklore that are known for their regenerative abilities, creatures that will be born again if killed, but will be reduced to the starting status. [+40 STR] [+200 AGI] [+120 VIT] [+350 MAG] [+100 INT] [+200 HP] [Rank: S]
Ghoul: A race of cannibalistic creatures who prey on the flesh of both humans and their own kind for survival, known for their supernatural capabilities. [+180 STR] [+200 AGI] [+200 VIT] [+0 MAG] [+100 INT] [+50 HP] [Rank: A]
Saiyan: A race of battle-hungry aliens that are known for their limitless potential and the need to grow stronger, a powerful race that once lived on Planet Vegeta. [+450 STR] [+200 AGI] [+300 VIT] [+0 MAG] [+65 INT] [+400 HP] [Rank: SS]
Human: A common race that all reincarnated individuals are prior to being reincarnated, they are a race that are full of unknown potential. Known for being weak but can grow in time. [+0 STR] [+0 AGI] [+0 VIT] [+20 MAG] [+25 INT] [+0 HP] [Rank: D]
Rock (Titanium): A form of earth that's quite durable depending on the type of rock, they can range from being rather fragile to immensely durable over time. [+0 STR] [+0 AGI] [+200 VIT] [+0 MAG] [+0 INT] [+400 HP] [Rank: C]
Reaper: They are creatures that live beyond the concepts of life and death, powerful soul manipulators that are feared in many worlds. [+400 STR] [+300 AGI] [+200 VIT] [+500 MAG] [+200 INT] [+600 HP] [Rank: SSS]
Kazuki looked over all the choices with a thoughtful look on his face as he narrowed his eyes, all of them seemed rather great as all would be cool to be. Except for a certain two, a human and... a rock? He could only stare at the rock option with an incredulous look on his face, what the hell? True, it seemed that the perks were that he'd be really damn durable, but he wouldn't be able to fricking move! That's retarded!
Who the hell would choose that?!
He had enough time as a human, if he was going to be reincarnated, he wanted to be something cool! While he agreed that humans are beings who's potential is unknown, he didn't really want to be human again. Looking at the others, they were all pretty damn tempting, being a badass dragon was cool and so was a phoenix.
They also seemed to be the luck of the draw while whoever was allowing him to reincarnate was judging his previous life, each of the races had some kind of ranking, probably about how rare they were. It was obvious a something like a Saiyan would be SS-Class as they had boundless potential and were easily planet-busters.
Being a ghoul would be pretty damn cool as well, having those wavy tentacles if he were to get the right kind of Kagune, though the idea of eating humans was not something he would look forward to. All of the races were pretty cool and tempting... except for the rock! Each race gave you a certain boost in stats depending on them along with other perks.
But, the one he was choosing is...
"I'm going with Reaper, why the hell wouldn't I? Being able to live beyond the concepts of both life and death? Hell yeah!" Kazuki smiled as he selected his option. If what it said was correct, not only would he have pretty incredible stats at the start, he was pretty sure it meant that he would have some form of immortality, and that was really damn good!
He was not looking to die again, dying once was already enough for him, he would rather not experience such a thing a second time. Plus, the fact that it was an SSS-Class race was just that much more awesome, overpowered for the win, bitch! It would be stupid for someone to turn down being such a race, unless they wanted a challenge though, then they can do what they want. But for him? He's going Reaper!
You have selected [Reaper]!
You have gained skills [Nigh Immortality] [Power Bestowal] [Soul Manipulation] [Shadow Manipulation] [Dimension Teleportation] [Monarch of the Reaper] [Paracausality]
"Huh, a bunch of skills tailored to the race, huh? Awesome." Kazuki smiled as he read that information. It seemed that depending on what race he chose, he would gain skills that those particular races had. He didn't know what else the other races would have gotten, but he sure wasn't going to complain about what he was getting for choosing Reaper!
He then swiped his hand as a screen displaying all the skills he had appeared in front of him.
[Skills]
Gamer Body: You don't require sleep, food, or drink. But, you are able to sleep or eat to replenish your health or for your own personal comfort if you wish.
Gamer Mind: Immunity to mind control and any status effects that directly target the user's mind in any way. You are also able to stay calm in any situation, not freaking out to anything like you would normally.
Observe: Grants the ability to show details and stats of other individuals.
ID-Create: This allows the user to create a dungeon filled with random enemies each time the skill is utilised, available dungeons are [Easy], [Medium], and [Hard].
Nigh Immortality: You stand outside of both life and death, both are completely meaningless to you. When all of your hit points are reduced to zero, then they will automatically go back to the optimal level and all injuries will be healed. Only bypassed by those stronger or as strong as the user.
Power Bestowal: You are able to grant another individual your power for a temporary amount of time, you are able to decide what powers and to what degree of it they will have.
Soul Manipulation: Allows the user to see the souls of other individuals that will allow them to determine whether they are malicious or not, as well as seeing how powerful that individual's soul is. The user can also summon forth the spirits of other beings to command, the user also being able to manipulate the soul itself in ways that allow them to perform acts like taking a soul away or causing the soul pain. Finally, you can contact the dead spirits of the world for information and such.
Paracausality: This allows you to be completely beyond or outside Causality altogether, being unbound by the causal system. This type of Acausality gives the user complete immunity to Causality Manipulation, Fate Manipulation and to a lesser extent probability-based abilities.
Shadow Manipulation: The user is able to manipulate the shadows to do their bidding, giving the ability to create inanimate objects or sentient beings composed of shadow. The user can also travel fast within the shadows as well as teleporting using the shadows.
Monarch of the Reaper: You have been granted the ability to turn invisible as well as the ability to manipulate life and death itself. You are able to drain the life energy of others as well as resurrecting the dead, only resurrecting the dead who have died within the timeframe of a day. Your very being is beyond the concepts of life and death as you are unable to be killed by regular means, and you will not age due to this skill.
Dimension Teleportation: The ability to summon forth portals to different worlds.
Kazuki nodded his head with great satisfaction at what he saw, the skills that every gamer usually got being the [Gamer Body], [Gamer Mind], and [Observe]. All incredibly useful skills, the gamer body making it so he didn't need sleep nor any kind of consumables, though it did seem he could still sleep if he wanted, which was a nice thing.
He doubted he actually needed food since he didn't possess the ability to die with this race due to seemingly any natural causes, if he's assuming correctly. The second skill preventing things like going insane or being manipulated by something like mind control, something he very much appreciated, he didn't want to end up throwing up or freaking out over something.
The [Observe] skill was also very useful, it would allow him to gauge the strength of his opponents that he will face in the future. If he's right, it would also allow him to know the names of them prior, as well as some other things that he might not have accounted for, so overall a very useful skill that every gamer should have in their possession.
The fourth skill was known as [ID-Create], a skill which was used to create a dungeon where you can gather equipment as well as train yourself against a number of randomly generated monsters. It seemed that the skill had levels of difficulty that you could choose from, with [Easy] being the lowest which he was certain he could take out without much of a fight at all, [Medium] probably being significantly harder, though he was not certain if it had enemies that could potentially be as strong and stronger than him. The final one being [Hard], where he was certain he was probably going to get his ass beat if he wasn't careful about how he went about it.
Now, it came to his next few skills that he had gotten after changing into a Reaper race, all seemingly very powerful and useful. First was [Nigh Immortality], just as the name suggests, it seemed that it gave him immortality to a certain degree. Reading it, it seemed that death and life was something he was beyond the concept of. It seemed the skill could also be bypassed, but only by those as strong or stronger than him, which was a major flaw. So, if both dungeons he creates of the [Medium] and [Hard] difficulty had enemies stronger or as strong as him, he needed to keep himself cautious.
So, that just meant he needed to continue getting stronger so that skill will be much harder to be bypassed. Also, it seemed the skill was something that if he lost all his health, he would just regain it afterwards. This also was a potential flaw but also incredible strength, he would take damage and could be hindered in battle by injuries, but, he would end up reviving back afterwards, so it wasn't that bad.
Next was [Power Bestowal], it was as the name implied, he could lend his powers to someone else, though it appeared only to be temporary. Next was [Soul Manipulation], which when he read it, it was quite an incredible skill. The ability to see the souls of others as well as manipulate them to a certain degree? Awesome and creepy.
The skill granting him the ability to summon forth spirits of other creatures that would be under his command, and also contacting the dead spirits of the world. It was truly a useful ability of his now, though the idea of seeing how powerful a soul was, was confusing to him as he didn' t quite understand it right at this point in time. Maybe he will in the future when he actually tries it.
The next being [Paracausality], which is pretty much exactly what it says. He is immune to things like cause and effect of things like the timeline and potential changes, also being immune to people who have the ability to change fate and even possibly affect chances of things happening. It was a really cool skill.
Next up was [Shadow Manipulation], quite straightforward, being that he could manipulate the very element of the shadows. Saying that he could form both creatures as well as things like weapons with the skill, could be really damn useful depending on the situation. The ability to also teleport around and travel fast in the shadows, totally awesome too!
The next one being [Monarch of the Reaper], where he is granted with the ability to both turn invisible and also manipulate life and death. It seemed that he could suck the life out of someone as well as bringing the dead back, freaky... Though, it did seem the resurrecting had a limit as he could only be permitted to bring back those who had died within the timeframe of a day, so twenty-four hours. He won't age either, so he'll stay twelve...
"Not sure how I feel about that..." Kazuki said as he tilted his head and crossed his arms. That meant... he was going to be a kid forever! Never being able to experience the feeling of finally becoming a teenager! Though, he wasn't certain if that was a good or a bad thing! He felt conflicted about if this was good or not! "Whatever, what's this last one...?"
Kazuki raised an eyebrow as he read it, did this mean he could travel to any kind of world like an anime, game, manga and more? If that was the case, then that would certainly be pretty damn awesome! But, did the last part pretty much insinuate that he could travel through time? If it did, then he needed to be careful. While he wouldn't be affected, the world would be, and it could be a disaster.
"Alright, time to check these stats."

"Huh, so I can even convert this 'virtual' cash into physical cash? That'll be useful..." Kazuki muttered as he looked over his stats. If what he was understanding was correct, then that meant whatever would he went into, he could convert the money from this gamer system to any form of currency, very useful if he was going to be travelling worlds.
Other than that, his attention was brought to his others stats, it seemed that he started with one hundred extra status points that you would probably normally get aside from those you get in your stats due to race. He also decided to keep hold of the one hundred extra status points that he had, he never knew, they might be useful for something else.
With basic math, it seemed that he gained five hundred health points for every status point in his HP attribute, and eight hundred mana for every point in MAG, being magic. He assumed that MAG was both his strength of magic and amount of mana, so by increasing it, both his magic damage and reserves will increase as well.
He could only chuckle as he looked at his level, that being of level one. His level and the numbers on his stats were certainly not of that of his level right now, far beyond it. This Reaper race was certainly an overpowered race, like those Outer Gods of that Cthulu Mythos or whatever, though he was certain those gods were far stronger than this race.
If he were to somehow come into contact with them, he can kiss his ass goodbye.
You have no completed the reincarnation phase, you are now able to travel across any world that you wish. Merely think of the world that you wish to travel to and use the skill [Dimension Teleportation] to create a portal, or you can use [ID-Create] to enter into a dungeon.
If you wish to go to a random world, merely use the skill.
"Well, I guess it's time to get going. Not like there's anything else to do here." Kazuki said as he smiled and stretched his limbs. He wasn't really worrying about getting stronger at the moment, he wanted to see just what world he might end up in without choosing, he'll probably try the [ID-Create] skill a little later down the line, he wasn't against getting stronger, not at all. He then held his hand forwards as he was slightly surprised when red energy seemed to appear around his hand, he shook off his surprise as he then declared. "[Dimension Teleportation]."
That was when the red light that previously covered his hand dispersed as a red and black swirling portal appeared in front of him, it appeared to be just as big as he was, though he was pretty sure it was only because the size could be adjusted. He gave a small smile before he began walking towards the portal as he flicked his hair out of his eyes.
"Time to get going."
