How a Dimitrescu Heart Beats

Chapter 1:

The Getaway

Dimitrescu Property

Romania

August 1940

"Another page complete, oh my god how many more to finish," the eldest Dimitrescu muttered to herself annoyed, with her hand held onto her forehead. For there sat in front of her such a large ledger of numbers, contacts, and other information that Lady Dimitrescu had entrusted her dear daughter Bela to handle while she was out involved in some meeting with the god like deity Mother Miranda and the other family members, the four lords. Bela longed to distance herself away from this work, even though she praised the idea of pleasing her mother by assisting with her work when she could, still the idea of being out of this castle during the most beautiful of days in the summer season.

"If I can just complete a couple more pages, I can get the hell out of here, thank god Daniela and Cassandra are still out for their morning hunt." the blonde vampire woman said quietly to herself. As if almost on cue, all of a sudden a large bang from downstairs from Lady Dimitrescu's study crashed, indicating someone had arrived back at the castle. It didn't take long for bela to recognize the shrieking, angered, yelling voices that belonged to her dearest sisters who had returned from their hunting games.

"Could you be anymore fucking obvious to the rest of the animal kingdom with how noisy you move when you hunt and use that sickle, you clumsy oof I found that prey first that was mine, and you scared a whole herd of deer when you could of fucking swarmed in with me at the same time and taken them out." yelled the middle child Cassandra at a quite visibly upset redheaded youngest Dimitrescu, Daniela. The redheaded Dimitrescu glared at her sister Cassandra, spewing a venomous growl towards her screaming, "I'm the oof? Your the one who decided to fly at them with crazy stupid speed, not giving me time to get into position and prepare my sickle after I said, "Hey Cassi, can ya hold for just a minute so I can help ya out!" No, you decided to this hunt without me." The redhead was so upset that she began to tear up and even went so far as to throw her sickle at Cassandra, which made a loud clang.

Bela heard the argument and with a frustrated sigh, dropped her mother's ledger and left the study, transforming into her swarm of insects and flying down the hall towards the main hall downstairs where the two sisters were fighting. Once at the bottom, Bela transformed back into her human form, which she quickly jumped into a position between her two bickering sisters with her two hands spread as if a traffic cop were stopping all vehicles in an intersection. "Will you two for once in your existence in this castle, stop fighting, you two are complete children, uncontrollable children and you wonder why mother doesn't want to spend long days at home."

The middle child Cassandra Dimitrescu could only glare at daggers with her golden deadly eyes at her youngest sister opposite Bela, before now setting those eyes as if holding nothing but a strong grudge at her older sister trying to stop the fight, finally speaking in a very annoyed voice "Really Bela, miss goodie two shoes decides to join our little gathering. Please save us your lectures dear sister, your not mother in fact I think you should be getting your fake pathetic ass upstairs and working the books, you don't give a fuck what me and Daniela do every day, always shoving your stupid nerd head into mother's ledgers or some bullshit boring books." Daniela across from Bela upon wiping the tears from her eyes, also began shouting at her blonde sister, "Yeah Bela, you never want to join our hunts, spend any time with us, your just books and books and more books, like they've taken over your life, you would've loved this hunt today if Cass didn't wreck it flying before thinking" as she glared back at Cassandra.

Cassandra merely laughed out loud before speaking towards the redhead, "You clearly ruined the hunt with your fucking idiotic noise, you didn't think about that one did you. Oh but that's the thing Dani, that Bela chose not to join us, right? She wanted to continue being mommy's little suck up." Bela felt absolutely flustered at that comment before turning to look into the daggering yellow eyes of the brunette sister and had just parted her dark lips as if to respond to Cassandra's accusations, the brunette interjected loudly practically screaming at Bela, "See that's the thing that sets us apart from you dear Bela, your always hunting down mother to seek her approval or good praises, while not thinking about others and how they feel. It's as if you were born with no desire to love anyone but fucking fake self, and the worse part is that you won't admit it constantly seeking to be better than everyone around you. Well that's not gonna work forever now is it? If your not careful, you'll never get anyone to appreciate your feelings because you don't give a fuck about anyone but yourself, and I hope that you end up just having yourself."

As if Bela was stabbed by her sister's sickle into her heart if she were a mortal and not a blonde mutated person, the pain she felt from that last comment was so intense that all the blonde Dimitrescu could do was give a saddened teary eyed look with her yellow orbs directly at Cassandra and then Daniela, before in the blink of an eye transformed into her swarm of insects and flew at practically the speed of light out the open door away from this depressing moment. All Cassandra and Daniela could do was look towards the door that their sister flew out of clearly upset from what had just happened, and then to each other staring although Cassandra gave an annoyed sigh, Daniela began to tear up before approaching the brunette and picked up her sickle before looking into Cassandra's eyes and softly speaking, "You didn't need to go that far and deep Cass, she does have feelings and obviously feels bad she didn't come, you don't need to stick into her that deep. I think sometimes you enjoy watching everyone's pain to cover up something deeper you feel but won't say." And with that the redhead walked away towards the stairs likely to her favourite spot, when depressing times like this came or after fights to escape into her home of imaginative moments, the library with a harsh slam of the door.

--

It was mere seconds before Bela's insect form reached almost near the end of Dimitrescu property outside when she reformed, near a set of stone steps that were seemingly cracked and somewhat damaged but could be walked on as if been here on the property for centuries but lack of maintenance had caused the apparent damage to show. The blonde woman had begun to walk down the steps, huffing and feeling such anger, outstanding rage. She went into deep thought over such harsh words from her sister, although she was never blind to see that they have had such arguments and fights and generally Cassandra would say sometimes really upsetting words or vulgarity. There was only truly so much one could take before one's feelings could no longer take the verbal abuse, and Cassandra was never one to truly consider those times before seeing the eldest Dimitrescu or the redheaded sister break down, in silent thoughts to herself..

Really Cassandra, you didn't need to do that, I do other people than myself including mother, Dani, Aunt Donna and Angie, Uncle Heisenberg, and even during these days...you..

Bela came out of that thought, as soon as she realized she was now walking by the most serene, beautiful spot on her family's property that she did not know even existed, as the castle was situated on such a massive amount of land which gave more than capable space to explore, garden, hunt, just to enjoy as much as what well humans could enjoy doing. The weather outside was quite warm, even the blonde could admit, and lowered her hood of her dark robed dress revealing Bela's beautiful golden blonde hair to shimmer under the warm summer sunlight. The location around her was also reminiscent of a picture she might've seen once or twice in the castle, consisting of a fair sized sparkling lake, vast amounts of pine trees going some ten feet maybe higher, even some were for sure taller than Bela, even Lady Dimitrescu possibly. Nature was clearly heard from the sound of frogs, insects and birds making their clicking or chirping. Never had Bela felt so relaxed, it was the exact….getaway she had envisioned herself wanting to fly to for such a long period of time, being stuck in the castle having stressed herself to the core from all the chores she had forced upon herself to do for mother and all the breakups she had to do with her sisters nearly killing each other. Even the screams, begging and pleading from the castle's staff from the slightest infraction being dragged into the dungeons below, watching countless numbers it seemed mutilated or drained of their blood and turned into mindless walking creatures or the wines that her mother is ever so distinguished for bringing to the region and land.

Bela finally found a spot near the lake, near the shore line where she slightly lifted her caped robe and sat, staring her yellow eyes into the lake and taking in the incredible relaxed moment. Again the blonde woman went into deep thought of her sisters, mother, family, even some of the victims that were made up of once castle staff that didn't seem all that bad, many were nice and never asked to be treated with such indignity that her sister Cassandra would bring upon. Even some of those..what were they called man things, Bela had watched those being sliced to pieces, devoured down the last bone or piece of human flesh, didn't have to die. Many were young, well built, handsome even men but chose a foolish decision to challenge anyone in the Dimitrescu home. Again put into such deep thought over the matter…

Am I truly the weakest link of this family? I am feeling sorry for the humans that are being killed left right centre of the village...why all they do is come to our home and try to harm me, my sisters, my mother….to tear our family apart...I just want all this pain, all this death to end….let people live...

It was at this moment that the emotions overtook Bela, who at first began to softly sob, began to turn into a deeper, overwhelmingly display outpour of emotions and anger. Bela was crying so hard and visibly shaking, holding a close fist, pounding the sand around her as if she were a child again. "I am so sorry everyone for letting you all down, I am not worthy to hold Dimitrescu in my name, please can anyone forgive me." As if someone heard Bela's cry out for forgiveness and her display of emotional breakdown, did she notice something a few yards from where the blonde woman was sitting, begin to cause the bushes near the shore to rustle. Bela at first considered it could be her mother returning from Mother Miranda and other family members, she may have possibly heard the fight that had just ensued and coming to check and see how she was doing, that thought caused Bela to start to feel slightly nervous as she had made it a habit of holding a lot of her emotions in and not over expressing her anxiety around anyone including Alcina Dimitrescu. But she was prepared nonetheless, breathed in deeply and wiped her eyes of any tears even though she knew she would run and ball all her emotions out into her mother's warm embrace.

What caught Bela completely by surprise, was that it wasn't her mother but a strange sight indeed, it was a young man, fairly tall though not as tall as she. The man had dark brown hair, a soft face, a young adult, well built, wearing a while sleeved shirt with rolled up sleeves, dark pants with suspenders around his shirt, and dark shoes. But the most striking feature the man had were such incredible, deep striking blue eyes almost as if the colour of the ocean that such a look into anyone could mesmerize that person into a deep, relaxing, warm state of mind. The man seemed to be whistling to himself a unique but almost jazzy sounding tune, as he walked down towards the slope of shore line towards the lake, carrying a small satchel bag and a brown light coat.

The eldest Dimitrescu could only watch in both fascination, but eventually turned into anger that here was a man she had never seen come onto the Dimitrescu property, her thoughts came together..

What the hell is this man thing doing here? How did he get into this place or how did he know about this place? Is he devoid of all common sense, has nobody in the village warned about what happens if you dare step on or into the Dimitrescu property? He must be here to plan some sort of attack, that's it….

Once that thought had passed, Bela started to slowly stand up while placing her hand on her trusted sickle. Although she greatly detested killing in reality, unless trying to prove to either her mother Lady Dimitrescu or her sister Cassandra, she always kept her sickle on her person in case. There had been times, foolish men have tried to sneak onto the property and even the castle with plans to end the Dimitrescu bloodline, but those plans would fail quite quickly ending with such victims to be the main dishes belonging to the Dimitrescus or to have their insides empties out and stuffed with hay and turned into an eerie sight placed around the Dimitrescu property and even the village as scarecrows.

Bela's thoughts were completely stopped once the man was now out of sight, blocked by a fair sized formation of rocks along the shore of the lake. But the blonde woman refused to succumb to losing sight of the man, and instead took it upon herself to get closer to see what this person was planning to do, hand gripped tightly to her sickle. She did know she could call upon her blowflies to transform into a swarm to which point, she could amass a quick strike and leave the man dead in seconds but felt that would cause unwanted attention and perhaps there could be more men lurking on the property as if luring Bela towards some sort of trap. But something in Bela's gut gave the feeling of ease not alarm, and she felt a sense of curiosity as to what this strange man was doing. Against Bela's judgement to be smart, cautious and careful she took it upon herself to start to climb the formation of rocks that had obstructed her view, they were mostly easy to manage, and she was able to maintain a good sense of balance doing her best to avoid ending up in the lake. It was truly the last thing she wanted to do, as never in her life had been taught let alone seen any purpose to need how to swim since she would generally form into her insects and fly over formations of water, but the thought did cross her mind what would it be like to feel the flow of water over one's body. Uncle Moreau had always gone on whenever the blonde Dimitrescu paid a visit, what being in the water was like, being around the creatures of the lake, the peace and serenity of the water, just absolute divine freedom.

The fish- like being, although largely grotesque to the human eyes, was in some ways like Bela, caring, loyal, committed to his family as well. And much like the blonde vampire, if Moreau who was devoted to such an ideal towards Mother Miranda with every inch of his core, if there was any moment where he felt disappointment he would go to great lengths to shut down and shut out the entire world around him, as if he felt his being to exit no longer mattered. Such depression and anxiety was something Bela would come to feel from time to time with Lady Dimitrescu, her mother.

Bela continued to focus on her task at hand, edging closer and closer towards this man who had stopped whistling but made no movement, nor could she hear any motion of the water being disturbed indicating that this man-thing had come to swim in the lake. She did smell something very familiar, bringing her to thoughts of her back at the castle and mother. The smell of burning tobacco, something that the blonde woman came to see her mother do, and even her Uncle Heisenberg. It wasn't anything she quite understood people to do, it did smell atrocious but came to accept it, despite the fact that Lady Dimitrescu would let hell raise before she considered any of her daughters to take up such a filthy habit. The eldest dimitrescu finally got to a point where another rock was much bigger than it looked, and forced her to now get on her tiptoes to peer over it just to get enough of a view of the man who was sitting on the shore line peering out across the lake, with a large pad of paper, holding a pencil and smoking a cigarette. This man was clearly sketching something according to Bela, as to what she could not be sure, she watched for something as he continued to sketch, while bringing his cigarette out of his mouth to remove it to flick ash off the tip and return it to his mouth and continuing to smoke, as well as humming while he did his work.

The truth is that the moment seemed very senile, peaceful, relaxed but Bela could not be sure as she went into a sense of preparedness and cautious thoughts to herself…

Is this man-thing seriously thinking of this property like some tourist destination?Or is he planning something more?He must be planning something, perhaps drawing what the property looks like to pass onto hunters and plan an attack, I bet that's it. But something is telling me otherwise..maybe I'm wrong.

Again Bela snapped out of that thought process, continuing to watch the man cautiously but something put her mind as such ease what the striking features he carried about him, the dark brown hair, the well built frame of a man, and those incredible blue eyes anyone could lose themselves in, this man was very handsome before the widened golden amber orbs, mouth slightly agape of the eldest Dimitrescu. While distracted so much, Bela finally acquired the first contact of this handsome young man as he glanced in her direction making the contact with those incredible blue eyes to her golden eyes in which she lost her concentration of attention to not slip, when all of a sudden her foot did so and she began to fall with a high shriek into the water. The man watching this, grinned and watched what appeared to be a comical moment of a silly woman who just accidentally slipped into the water. But what the man saw next was no longer funny, and his grin disappeared in a second as he watched large amounts of splashes send water in every direction, and the panic shriveled voice told him this woman was in serious trouble.

For Bela, it was absolute sheer terror for the blonde Dimitrescu for she could not focus on anything but her survival through whatever means, including splashing, screaming but her panic induced mind made her think of nothing else. She felt as if the water gripped her whole body like a massive hand grabbing its victim to devour, Bela had no idea how to get out of this mess, to swim, other than scream for help from her beloved family, she continued screaming and crying out, "Mama, MAMA, CASSANDRA, DANIELA, PLEASE MAMA, PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME, I DON'T WANNA DIE, I don't wanna die." Bela couldn't help but begin to sob hard, as she was beginning to tire from flapping and screaming, as she went into more panicky and depressive thoughts…

Mother, Cassandra, Daniela they aren't coming are they. No this can't be, this must be a bad dream, they love me. Still I have been a disappointment, all my time focused on doing chores, never doing anything with my sisters, always focusing on acquiring mother's praises, never caring about anything but myself. I guess this must be the fate that awaits a failure like myself. I am sorry everyone for being such a disappointment, for so many fights and arguments we had. I hope you forever find the peace you all deserve.

At this point Bela was exhausted and drained of any further energy to try to survive, and felt her body begin to sink under the water which brought her to a point of resignation and accept that death shall come whether the water drown her or even caught her insect form to die off due to the slightly cool temperature of the water. She closed her eyes and was now prepared to accept her fate as she began to sink deeper and deeper. When her thoughts and emotions were interrupted by a set of two arms grabbing her and bringing her out that watery grave.

It was none other than that strange man, that Bela presumed was spying and sketching plans to prepare an attack on the Dimitrescu property and castle who grabbed Bela's body from under the water and pulled her up, holding and speaking in a moderate, firm but warming soft voice "Hold on miss, you will not drown out here, I have you, just try to kick your legs if you can hear me and I'll get us back to shore as quick as possible." Bela could only make out so many words from her man-thing of a rescuer as she was semi conscious but did as the man guided her to do so by kicking her legs slowly, but with being drained of so much energy could only move so much, this man was doing most of the work moving his strong arms and kicking reaching the shore line in seconds.

By the time they both reached the shore, Bela and the man were both so exhausted, the blonde vampire all but collapsed on the sand on her stomach barely breathing. The man that rescued the eldest Dimitrescu, took no rest after this harrowing save of this woman from the lake who clearly saw she had no idea how to swim, and quickly approached the woman collapsed on the ground and rolled her soaking wet form onto her back. What the man saw was astonishing, a woman in a unique black robed dress, unusual but beautiful rose shaped marking on her forehead, necklace with assortment of what could be some forms of bones, a beautiful chain with bright red ruby around her neck, but the skin so pale, grey, but some way to the man was absolutely beautiful, the blonde hair, slender hourglass-like frame, gorgeous blonde hair with locks, and the man did see his eyes wander down her frame and saw her soaking wet chest and busty chest couldn't help but blush. Snapping out of the trance like thoughts off looking over this woman in mere seconds, began to check Bela's breathing which was ragged and very rapid. The man sat the blonde Dimitrescu slowly up, to which point she began to cough hard and lurch both water and other things onto the front of her dress and sand, as he kneeled with one hand on her shoulder and back to keep her balance.

Bela began to gain her consciousness for a moment before she felt something, shivering and cold although the season was late summer, a wind came into play and she began to feel a drop in temperature and feared the worst. The man watching this moment began to fear, this woman could be suffering hypothermia and spoke in his soft warm voice, "Miss hold on I'll get you something for the cold" and dashed off back to his spot, grabbing his jacket before running back in a second to a confused but frightened woman. The man took his jacket and wrapped it around Bela's soaked body, before coming around and making eye contact directing his blue eyes into her golden ambers, both staring into each other for what seemed to be a minute of complete silence, as if the whole stopped in that incredible moment between the two strangers to one another.

But all peace and serenity between the two came to a complete cessation, once Bela's realization of what was standing before her, she felt anger and rage rise into her and her frown and yellow eyes turned into daggers glaring into the man's wide blue eye gaze, immediately stood up and shoved the man a good couple feet away almost knocking him over and still shivering, then screaming at him, "Get the hell away from me you filthy man-thing!"

The man wide eyed and mouth slightly opened, began to softly chuckle and then laugh out loud at the blonde's words before speaking, "Man-thing? I've been called a lot of things in my life, but never a man-thing, I didn't expect that kind of gratitude from your rescuer, I was just looking to see if you're fine miss?"

Bela could still only glare daggers, while tightly holding the coat which was warm and smelled of what seemed to be unique things she could think of back home such as Daniela's paints, pastels, and even some cologne. Her thoughts ceased and she spoke loudly shouting at the man across, "You wish to know the name of the woman before you, that could end your life in an instant? What in the hell are you doing here creature trespassing on my family's property? Have you not listened to the village below of what happens to anyone who dares step onto the Dimitrescu property, do you not fear the fate that awaits you?"

The man could just stare into the face of someone incredibly gorgeous, seemingly young, but those yellow golden eyes, despite their appearance of what a cornered trapped animal would look like, were quite alluring. Finally the man laughed softly and said, "No miss. I meant to simply ask the name of the woman I just rescued. What I am doing here I am simply enjoying a beautiful day such as this and taking in the gorgeous scenery and drawing it. I did hear it was your family property, and also heard of rumours of death and blood and other scary creatures, but I can more than hold my own. I don't believe such a beautiful place to be the home of such vile evil things the village claims your people to be, and I don't sense any danger coming from you, before I came here I could hear someone faintly crying, was that you? Are you okay? Do you wish to talk about it? I am a good listener."

Bela gave the man a quizzical look with her yellow eyes, and frowned, "I am not here to be pouring my private business into someone like you man-thing, you have no right to be here I don't care what you were doing, you will gather your things and leave, before I slice your throat out and stuff it with worms." The man once again just stared and grinned with a warm smile, and spoke "As you wish miss, I am sorry for upsetting you I will take my leave, don't worry you can keep the jacket, I was getting awfully warm it is a beautiful day isn't it, well stay well. By the way to make things easier, if we meet again, I can make my name easier to remember than just man-thing, it's Anton, Anton Raddu." And with that the man turned away from the puzzled but angered blonde woman before returning to gather his drawing and things and picking up his satchel bag.

At this point the eldest Dimitrescu stomped her foot on the sand, before raising her hand and shouted, "Stop Mr. Raddu, I wish to see this drawing you say you were doing, I wanna make sure you had no other intentions like drawing a plan of something nefarious for anyone foolish to come to this place." Anton stopped immediately, and turned with his blue eyes, grinning before speaking to Bela, "Of course miss. Please see for yourself, I don't plan on hurting you or anyone here. How could anyone desecrate a place of such beauty, or harm someone as pretty as you." That flirtatious remark set Bela's stomach from instant rage to what felt like her insects tickling every last part of her inside, causing her to blush brightly at such a compliment.

The eldest Dimitrescu wasn't a fool to know she did carry some beauty to her but had never been on the receiving end of it other than from her mother complimenting on how she looked many days when Bela didn't feel like she was that beautiful. She never considered anyone to carry any such compliments about her since she felt her family was to always be feared and despised for their nature and actions towards the other villagers. That they were to forever be monsters, evil, dark heartless, cruel creatures to hunt and prey on the people to be drained of their wretched lives and turned into the family's wines forever. But here was a man she had never met in her life and put her into such deep thoughts…

He thinks I'm pretty? This man-thing thinks I'm pretty? He's flirting with me, I thought I was a monster to these people but this man thinks I'm something more, in Mother Miranda's name is his plan? I must see if he speaks the truth, for if he's toying with me, he'll be tonight's main dish.

Snapped again out of her thoughts, Anton approached the blonde woman with his drawing, holding the page towards Bela in which she quickly grabbed out of the man's hands, while giving an annoyed glare and made an annoyed face towards Anton. Bela snapped the paper straight and began to glance as to what the man-thing was doing and could never have been more wrong than what she was guessing Anton was doing. What laid before the eldest Dimitrescu's eyes was an incredible drawing of such accuracy of the property including the lake, pine trees, and even the towering spires of Castle Dimitrescu in the property well shaded but still lightly drawn as clearly was rough sketched. Anton was telling the truth and Bela couldn't help but feel slightly embarrassed for harshly accusing the man of conjuring up a sketch of battle plans to attack her family and the property. She was in a complete trance, running her gloved fingers over the parts of the sketch and combing the picture with her eyes with such fascination and admiration.

Anton snapped Bela out of her thoughts before speaking soft and warmly beside her, "I have more where that came from, would you like to see?" Bela simply turned her head into Anton's blue eyed gaze with her mouth slightly open, their faces mere inches from another as both could feel the warmth from each other's breathing, causing Bela to blush again before slowly nodding her head. Anton smiled softly at the blonde woman before placing his satchel bag onto the sand and opening a pouch to pull out a couple pages and standing up to hand Bela his workings.

Bela began to look at the drawings dazzled at the accuracy and depiction of scenes that could be almost reminiscent of some of the paintings that were placed on the walls of Castle Dimitrescu. She came across places she had read or seen in pictures in books such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, The L'Ouvre in Paris before Anton spoke quietly, "I remember Paris in '37 so well, so many incredible magnificent places, people, wine, food of course the hardest part of drawing these places you see, was that well it's very hard to get a spot because some of the French men planning to paint these places were not very giving to have let up a spot for me to do any of my work, the words they said I didn't understand but probably quite harsh, so you see man-thing isn't the worst thing ever said to me." As the man laughed softly, Bela couldn't help but giggle softly to herself.

Both Bela and Anton began to laugh soft and then louder at that humorous moment together, before glancing at each other once again deeply, Anton then cleared his throat before speaking "A pity it isn't the same free place as it once was back then, since well..the times have changed for this wonderful place." Bela could only frown and give a puzzled look towards Anton before saying, "What happened to Paris?" Anton could only glance back at Bela with the same puzzled look with his blue eyes into her golden eyes before asking, "Miss, are you sure you're okay, you didn't bang your head or something? You do know that there is something called a war going on or has been doing so for the last year and half." Bela could only give an annoying glare with amber orbs before scoffing a reply, "Of course I knew there was a war going on, I would hear the odd radio broadcast of it on the radio, but mother would just regard it as immature children with their toys and stupid ideas."

This was a half truth, as the real fact was Bela was not really aware of the situation that gripped Europe with war that had broken out. She did however sometimes while spending time with her sisters and mother in the study would listen to music on the radio only to be interrupted by news of the war in Europe. Lady Dimitrescu however did not spend the time to go into deep discussion of what had transpired since 1939 up to this point as she didn't feel it was a topic that would interest her children into knowing that it wasn't there issue to be involved in nor would it make its way into the Dimitrescu or Four Lord's home land.

Anton merely nodded, before pulling two pages from the collection of drawings that Bela was holding onto, showing the confused blonde woman. What Bela saw before her in the first page was a picture of a fair sized street with old fashioned buildings with hanging large bright red crimson flags, carrying a white circle in the centre with a weird shaped cross that she had never seen. Also seen were a fair amount of people raising their hands in a straight angle while watching a large number of men carrying some arms, wearing helmets marching down the street. Bela seemed mesmerized by the sight, it seemed quite mysterious but yet beautiful to her of a large gathering of people seemingly honoring their people doing something heroic, causing her to smile. Anton was more content than smiling this time, and began to turn to the second page, which now the blonde woman could understand why Anton didn't seem very enthusiastic unlike his other pictures. The next one was a picture drawn up of a family of one man, woman, and small child standing outside what appeared to be some kind of store, holding each other in an embrace while watching a uniformed man paint some sort of unusual star and writing on the window. Bela could only look confused at the picture before turning to Anton and asking in a quiet soft voice, "What does judden verboughten mean?" Anton looked into Bela's eyes with a depressed face and replied, "It means Jews forbidden, it means a group of people who are something different to these people cannot live like human beings in freedom able to go where they want, love whoever the want to love, eat where they want, but just be titled and hated. That is what these people went through when I visited Berlin in '39 before the war broke out. They do appear to be delightful, but they also have a strong hate for Jewish people and want a world without seeing or hearing from them. I have seen violence happen around these people, it is truly scary what these immature children with their silly toys and stupid ideas are capable of."

Bela could only frown and glare at the picture before speaking with a hated tone, "I hated stupid men." Anton could only glare before responding to Bela's statement giving a slight chuckle "I do too and this form of stupidity has dragged this long and caused a lot of suffering but." Anton's voice trailed off as he looked towards the ground, while Bela gave a curious look while trying to read Anton's emotions "But Mother Miranda shall forever protect us from moments like this happening here right? I doubt this country will join this rubbish, so we can continue to enjoy days like today involving wandering man-things trespassing onto someone's property or saving a beautiful damsel in distress." Bela could only blush at the last part before giving a playful smirk back at Anton.

Anton cleared his throat before speaking softly "Well I should be heading back to the village miss. I do thank you for seeing my work and appreciating it. Don't worry I won't return. I understand that this is private property. I apologize for my intrusion." As soon as Anton had spoken, he started to gather his drawings that Bela passed back quite passively, while merely staring again into his deep blue eyes to him before Anton placed them back in his bag. Something in Bela forced a response she did not expect to come, "Please I want you to come back Mr. Raddu, I want you to draw our beautiful home, you will get no hassle from me." Anton merely returned a wide eyed stare with mouth slightly agape again but replying, "Thank you miss, I would love to return to the property and continue my work, I look forward to coming back." Bela gave a giggle before saying, "Bela, please you can call me Bela." Anton smiled widely and glanced into the eldest Dimitrescu's golden eyes before replying quietly, almost whispering out "Bela. Bela. A beautiful name for a beautiful woman." At this point Bela nearly jumped out of her skin at such a compliment like a child who just got something they always wanted, but merely blushed and said cleared her throat before saying, "Please Mr. Raddu I think you should take this with you home, I do welcome your return" to which Bela removed Anton's coat off her body slightly damp but in much better condition, handing it back to the man.

Anton reached across, before saying back to Bela, "Please Bela just Anton will do, easier than man-thing or creature wouldn't you say?" As he grinned into Bela's yellow eyes. Then a moment where Anton and Bela happened to experience everything came to a halt, both felt the touch of each other's hands over one another, causing the eldest Dimitrescu to nearly faint over the affection she was receiving. Bela, after staring into Anton's eyes for what seemed like forever, simply responded in a soft and quiet manner, "Agreed Anton, agreed."

At that point, Anton gave Bela one more smile before taking his coat and satchel and made his way again whistling some tune and disappearing into the bushes leading towards the exit of the Dimitrescu property. Bela could only stare, smile, and run a hand brushing strands of her hair out of her face and began to slowly turn and walk back towards the castle, thinking to herself of quite the getaway she found herself.

Authors Notes:

-So I do apologize that this became quite extensive and long, I did actually put it up before but didn't like how it was done. I do plan on doing more chapters as this story will take place in a semi-historical ww2 mixed with the RE Village characters, the primary pairing of Bela and the original male character Anton Raddu.

This is my first fanfiction and have been inspired by works from Noexterna and Deepestfathoms as well as others on the site. I look forward to feedback as we continue this unique story of love, adventure, tragedy.
