Challenging oneself is good but spreading more love for your OTP is better XD

You can speak to owls, work with owls, fight alongside owls, and even transform into an owl, partially or fully.

She always thought she'd tell Chika about it in a cool and glamorous way; like bringing her flying over the sea of Uchiura, or showing off her night vision (she may have done that a lot of times already but Chika just thinks it's a You thing) and holding an Owl performance of dance and song just for Chika!

But... Fate had other plans as she bestowed upon You a high fever till the ash-brunette grew delirious and when her worrywart owl pal said they should consider the worst-case scenario, You agreed to call Chika over to her mansion where she lived with her family of owls and never had anyone over with the excuse that it was far and her parents were strict on visitors.

Chika was visibly sad which hurt You so much to have to be attacked with Chika's upturned eyes, large and pleading, her lips quivering in the most adorable pout You has laid her eyes on and the hugs and tugs to her arm and attempts at showcasing how harmless she was when wanting to appeal for a sleepover at You's - but..! She had to keep her identity and origin a secret.

And yet, here we are, You breathed heavy laboured breaths as her eyes blinked away sleep and the pain of staying awake, her hands shaking as she tried to think of a message to write to Chika for one of her Owls to deliver.

One chipped in with a hoot and a few others echoed the same sentiment. You nodded, writing down the message before her already flushed face explode into a hotter blush and she dropped the paper to the floor protesting feverishly.

A wiser owl told You to calm down as they handed You another paper which the ash-brunette mumbled her gratitude, sighing, she writes again, ignoring a majority of her fine feathered family conversing amongst themselves that the initial idea was better.

When You was done, she sulked and panted as bleary exhausted eyes stared up to the high ceiling of her room, all the better for flight. Her worrywart owl pal patted her shoulder, hooting that it will be okay now that two of the messenger members have flown off to look for Chika.

You wanted to question why two but she pushed the thought aside as she glanced around her room. Various breed of owls perched about. The ceiling not normal for a normal house. And her Owl Suit (designed like a Magical Girl outfit) out on display right beside her wardrobe in plain sight. As much as she wanted to hide it, she was felt too hot and cold at the same time to move. Resigning to Fate, You closes her eyes to rest as her heart thumped loudly in anticipation for the truth to be known to the girl she loves.

Chika never would have expected an owl to fly into her room. And definitely not guess that when one left, two will return and bantered with each other for a short while before dropping a message that seemed to be meant for her.

Chika let out a surprised exclamation when she read the note – "I love you, Chika-chan."

The owls started hooting noisily, it almost seemed like they were laughing and having fun with this turnabout of events. Before one of them dropped another note on Chika's table to read.

Chika's eyes were wide like saucers as she panicked and followed the owls before realizing she could not fly through the window like the birds could so she hollered for them to wait, rushing down the stairs, apologizing to her sisters on the way.

Running after owls was another thing she did not expect to be doing, but she could not help but smile and felt excitement coursing through her veins – she was going to visit her best friend's house and it would seem that her unrequited love was not unrequited after all.

I intend to write a continuation and also a version with all the fun dialogue XD

You know much I love writing for animals conversing with humans from stories featuring Cat!Chika or Honoka-bat XD Now, we get owls XD
