"M-Miss Dimitrescu…?" Seline looked around, very confused. "How did I get here?" Alcina sat beside her. "You fainted in the hallway. Are you feeling any worse?" Seline was too tired to lie. "Yeah… My head hurts and I'm really hot…" Alcina held up the thermometer. "Do you mind if I take your temperature?" Seline was fine with it, so she put the thermometer in her mouth. The one-minute wait felt like hours, but eventually, it bleeped happily. "103.2, that's quite high." Knowing that they didn't have any medicine, Alcina would have to leave. "I'm going down to the village to get you something that'll help. I'll ask Bela to sit with you, is that alright?" Seline nodded, and Alcina left the room. "BELA!" The blonde materialized immediately, anxious for news. "Yes, Mother? Is everything alright?" Alcina was buttoning her coat, but she still turned to face her daughter. "Seline has a high fever, I'm going to get her some medicine. Can you sit with her? She's in the spare bedroom." Bela dissipated to inform her sisters, then swarmed back. "Yes, Mother. Please come back quickly and safely." Alcina kissed her daughter on the head, then finished her preparations and left. Bela stared after her mother for a second, then went up to the bedroom, where Daniela and Cassandra were already trying to keep Seline's mind off of how bad she felt. "-so, Uncle Karl brought a ton of Lycans, and Mother had a lot of Moroaică, and they decided to battle!" Bela smiled at the ridiculous story. "And remember, Angie somehow made Aunt Donna and Uncle Salvatore popcorn while they watched the fight, and then she started narrating it…" Everyone laughed, even Seline. "Hey Dani, remember the incident at our swim lessons-" Daniela held her sickle up to Cassandra's neck. "Never mention that again." However, Cassandra wasn't bothered, and swarmed away. "Y'know, when you started drowning in waist-high water~" Bela decided to get in on the fun. "And you thought that a piece of seaweed was a tentacle, right?" Daniela groaned dramatically, and turned to Seline. "Don't believe their liiiiiiiiiiies!" Seline's laughs turned to coughs as she struggled to catch her breath. "Are you alright?" Cassandra asked, with more concern than she had ever shown to anyone. "I-I'm fi-fi-fine." That was obviously a lie. It seemed like the longer she stayed at Castle Dimitrescu, the more lies Seline ended up telling. "I wish we could go find Mother, it seems like she's getting worse…" Daniela said, and Bela sighed. "You know how cold it is. We'd be dead before we made it halfway to the village." She knew that she wasn't being sensible, but Daniela still wanted to do something. "We can't just sit around and do nothing!" For the first time ever, Cassandra had to agree with Bela. "Sorry, Dani, but if we tried anything we could either get in trouble or hurt… Or worse." While the three argued, Seline fell into a feverish sleep. The sisters quickly stopped bickering and tried to be quiet. "What do we do?" Cassandra whispered, and Bela shushed her loudly. "You shush! We're trying to be quiet, idiot!" Daniela huffed, quite annoyed. "C'mon, let's get out of her room." The three girls dissipated, each of their minds filled with different worries.

"Ah, Lady Alcina. To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?" The Duke said as once again, Alcina approached his emporium. However, this time it wasn't for information. "I'm looking for medicine. Do you have some?" Duke raised his eyebrow. "My Lady, have you forgotten your regenerative properties that you and your daughters possess?" Alcina huffed. "It's not for me. Seline's pretty sick." Pausing his search for the medicine, Duke looked up in concern. "Oh dear! Well, I hope this is strong enough. Make sure she takes it with some food, and only once per day." He held up a small pill bottle. Alcina had learned by now not to ask where Duke got his merchandise. Instead, she thanked him and left. As she walked through the village, a few drunk people dared to belittle her. "Hey, Lady Hot D*mn, where're your scary claws?" Not wanting to do anything that would feed these insults, she kept walking as if she couldn't hear them at all. "D*mn, those are the biggest b**bs I've ever seen in my life. HEY LADY, you've got a boyfriend or anything? 'Cause I'm not too bad." The only thing that kept her from killing them in real life was fantasizing about the many ways she could tear them apart. With her head held high, Alcina headed back to the castle. As per usual, the second she stepped into the castle, her daughters flocked around her. "Did you get the medicine? Did you?" Alcina neatly hung up her coat and began walking upstairs. "Yes, I did. Now, can one of you go down to the kitchens and ask them to grab me a bit of bread?" Daniela looked confused, but did what her mother asked. Bela and Cassandra stood nervously by their mother, until she looked down on them. "Girls, it's getting awfully late. Why don't you two get ready for bed?" Bela went without complaint, but Cassandra protested against it. "Mother, can I at least see how Seline is doing?" Even though the request melted her heart, Alcina wasn't going to be persuaded. "No, young lady, you are going to bed. Seline will be better in the morning, I promise. Now please go to your room." Daniela came back with the bread, and Alcina sent her along as well. Finally having everything sorted, she went into Seline's room, where the child was still sleeping. Lightly, Alcina woke her up. "Seline, I brought you some medicine that's going to help you, alright? Will you take it?" Still half-asleep, Seline nodded and took the bread with the pill. Nothing seemed to change, and Alcina realized she had been expecting the medicine to help her instantly. How childish of me. Seline laid back down, and slowly started to fall back asleep. However, she said something before she completely did, and Alcina stifled a gasp. Those four little words would change everything. The question was, would it be for better or for worse? Whatever it was, she knew that Seline Floarea would now be living at Castle Dimitrescu, no matter what.

"I love you, mama."
