Promptober Day 17 - A Prank and Racing Hearts

"Eeeehhhh~ Why does Kasumin have to be the seeker?!" Kasumi complains as she pouts her cutest pout.

"Well…you are the one to suggest to draw lots to decide the seeker." Karin comments; while she looked calm on the exterior, she was a bit worried about how this Hide & Seek: Anywhere in Nijigasaki will go.

Kasumin glares at the end of the stick she drew – a bright red indicating she got lucky. "Fine, fine. Kasumin is going to start counting now so you all better start running! Don't make it hard for your cute junior and friend to find you, kay!"

As Kasumin covered her eyes and begun counting, everyone dispersed to look for their hiding spot on the school grounds.

Ai and Rina jogged off in the same direction, the blonde grinning endlessly.

Rina looks over, her Rina-chan board on a passive expression. "Is something up? Rina-chan board: Hm? [:)]"

Ai nods as she pulled Rina behind a wall, even though they have not gone far yet since they could still hear Kasumin counting. "Ai-san have an idea to make this game of Hide & Seek even more fun! Do you want to join in, Rinari?"

Rina was not going to say no, it was especially hard to say no to Ai's blazing with passion orange eyes and heart-skipping smile. Rina nods.

"That's great! I'm thinking it'd be fun to play a little prank~" Ai excitedly whispers her plan into Rina's ear. "Okay?"

Rina nods again in affirmation and peeked over her shoulders to the seeker, feeling sorry for her fellow first year that she had to go through this. But that is also, if she actually believed the prank…

"…98…99…100!" Kasumin pants, exhausted from counting. "Alright! Ready or not, here comes your cute idol Kasumin! You can make a sound or leave some hints of where you are~~"

Kasumi looks around her, shrugging that there would be not a single soul who remained at the starting point and she jogs off to find her friends. She decided looking at classrooms would be easier to mark off the map.

Approaching the third years classroom, she hears a loud scream and jumped. "Eh!? A-Ai-senpai's voice?"

Kasumi runs towards the scream and was met with a piece of Rina-chan board: [? m !] and right beside, Ai's outerwear splayed on the floor. Kasumi gulps. "Ai…Ai-senpai..? Rinako..? Don't tell me… This is a case of missing students because they came back to school during vacation to play?!"

"AAaaahhh, Shizuko! Emma-senpai! Ayumu-senpai! Yuu-senpai! Helppppp!" Kasumi picks up the evidence, runs a bit before running back and placing it back down. With shaky hands and fingers, she snapped a shot of the crime scene, classroom and picked it back up to look for help, her eyes teary and worried she'd be next.

Inside the classroom and hiding in the broom cabinet, the second year prankster was doing her best to hold back her giggles and laugh that Kasumi fell for the prank splendidly.

Trusting that the first year has ran off, Ai laughs, smiling widely at Rina and holding out a hand which Rina touched a high five to. Her Rina-chan board: [≧▽≦]

Ai was happy that Rina reciprocated the gesture, however, she noticed that Rina has been holding onto her Rina-chan board rather tightly, and not letting it up even though Rina usually would around her.

"Is something the matter, Rinari?" Ai asks gently.

Rina's small fingers on the sketchbook jolted slightly. And it took a while before Rina shook her head. "No…"

"Hmm…"

Ai's relentless stares made Rina fidget where she stood, back against the metal and Ai extra close in this closet.

"Did you not like the prank..?"

"No!" Rina shook her head quicker this time.

"Mm… A fever?"

"Eh?" Rina-chan board immediately switched to [? m !].

Ai moved a hand that was placed beside Rina's head towards her forehead while she leaned closer too, pressing her forehead to Rina's, her gaze gentle. "Doesn't seem like you have a fever, Rinari… That's good."

Rina drops her sketchbook and Ai's bright orange hues meets Rina's nervous topaz eyes. Rina hopes that in this darkness Ai would not be able to tell she was embarrassed, excited, nervous, and that her heart was going at an In Love beats per minute.
