The red, yellow, and orange surrounds Ruby and Hanamaru for as far as they looked into the distance. At a cosy spot among the fallen autumn leaves, the two first-years were baking sweet potatoes; a huge favourite of Ruby's as her eager grin that never faded told.
Ruby sniffles and sneezes unexpectedly, making a cute "uyu…" sound after.
Hanamaru looks away from the small flame she was handling to observe her girlfriend; nose growing red, her fingertips a similar rush of red against her pale skin indicating the coldness it felt. A gust of wind blows by which made Ruby close her eyes and shiver.
The brunette's hazel eyes stared at Ruby's neck, naked and exposed to the season's harsher sides. Thankfully, the booklover tends to be prepared for the cold or perhaps she simply enjoys dressing warm.
Hanamaru shuffles closer, the leaves rustling and crunching under her feet until her shoulder bumps with Ruby's.
"Maru-chan..?"
The small brunette grins up at Ruby as she unravels her red and dark green checkered scarf and wraps it around the redhead's neck, with a whispered, "Here we go~" when she finishes.
"H-Hanamaru-chan…" Ruby holds the scarf around her now much warmer neck, the smell of the leaves, cold air and baking sweet potatoes under the expert care of her girlfriend filled her senses. "Thank you…"
Hanamaru's lips curled higher, her eyes smiling as she returned her attention to the smoking pile of leaves, anticipating that she will soon get to feast her eyes on a jolly Ruby munching on sweet potatoes with nature as their backdrop.
Ruby's cheeks pinkens and heart thumped in her ear as she stole quiet glances at Hanamaru's side profile, her long brown hair tucked behind her ear as she concentrated on cooking, her ears…to her jawline… and back to her rosy, soft cheeks.
Ruby swallows subconsciously, letting out a breath of hot air which turned to vapour in the cold air, the usually conservative and shy redhead leaned over and pressed her lips to her girlfriend's cheek.
Hanamaru jumps in surprise, falling onto her butt which Ruby was brought along as they were connected by the shared scarf. "R-Ru-Ruby-chan?"
Ruby's mouth was left agape a small gap as she realized what she did, but she giggles as she gazed lovingly at her girlfriend sitting on the autumn-covered ground. "Hanamaru-chan…"
"Yes..?" Hanamaru was the sight of a beautiful blushing teenager looking up at her girlfriend.
Ruby breaks into a wide smile. "Thank you. I love you!"
Hanamaru's lips jutted out in a pout as she shakes her head while taking Ruby's offered hand to be back to a squatting position. "Why so suddenly..?"
Ruby nuzzles into Hanamaru's side like an affectionate bunny. "Just because~"
Hanamaru shakes her head again, her heart full from Ruby's love and she prods the autumn leaves that hid the sweet potatoes that was as sweet as her Ruby.
