Hi, everypony! And welcome to the next chapter of "The Day I Went to Equestria". If you read Chapter 21, Kaleb said he was going to help his friends with their work. The story also said that helping his friends would put a strain on one of his friendships. Which means (Spoiler Alert) he will eventually get into a fight with one of his friends. Who will it be? Read and find out. Disclaimer: I DO NOT own "MLP: FIM". I only own Kaleb.
Chapter 23: Tensions
"So this is the field behind the apple orchard?" King Ragnar asked.
Applejack nodded.
"Yep. This is it." She said.
King Ragnar put a hand on his chin.
"It looks... big."
"It does." Kaleb said, "With a big field like this, you'll be able to grow your own food. Potatoes, tomatoes, corn, you name it. That way, you'll have more than just apples to eat."
Bjorn smiled and nodded.
"Well, I think this field would be a good place to plant our food. Don't you think so too, father?" He asked his father.
The viking king turned to his son and nodded as well.
"Yes, Bjorn. I think this will be a great start." He said.
"Now you're talkin'." Applejack said as she winked.
"Let's go tell the others." Said King Ragnar.
As the king lead his son, the wolf person, and the orange earth pony to go tell the other vikings and shield maidens the news, Kaleb was glaring at Applejack. When they were in the orchard, the vikings and shield maidens were helping Applejack's family get some apples. Some kicked the trees while others handpicked the apples off the trees. Yui and Tomoko also kicked some of the trees. The king cleared his throat and they all turned to him.
"Everyone, I have an important announcement!" He began, "Applejack has agreed to let us grow our food in a field behind the apple orchard. We will start by growing our wheat and fermented honey."
Applejack tapped Kaleb's leg and he knelt down to her level. She whispered in his ear.
"What does fermented mean?" She asked.
"Fermented means rotten." Kaleb whispered back.
Applejack stuck her tongue out in disgust.
"But if we do that, how are we going to get fermented honey? I mean we can plant the wheat, but how are we going to find fermented honey?" Asked Tomoko.
King Ragnar turned to Applejack.
"Are there any beehives near you?" He asked her.
The orange earth pony nodded.
"Of course. There are some beehives in the other trees." She said.
King Ragnar smiled and nodded. He turned to the other vikings and shield maidens.
"Then we will get fermented honey from them. But be careful."
Everyone cheered. Sometime later, the vikings and shield maidens were planting the wheat and getting the fermented honey. Kaleb, Applejack, Big Macintosh, and Applebloom helped too. As soon as they were done, King Ragnar shook Applejack's and her family's hooves.
"It was a pleasure and an honor to be working with the Apple Family in helping us plant our wheat and getting fermented honey for our mead. We greatly appreciate it." He said.
"Anytime, King Ragnar. Anytime." Granny Smith said.
After that, Kaleb then decided he was going to help Rarity next. He then looked at his fingers and winced.
"Oooooh. I really hope I don't end up pricking my fingers with any needles." He thought.
He then heard a voice behind him.
"Kaleb?"
He turned to see it was Yui.
"Are you alright?" She asked.
"Oh. Yeah. I'm fine." He replied.
Meanwhile, at Twilight's castle, Spike was just finishing rearranging Twilight's books. He stepped back and admired his work.
"Well, Spike, you really outdid yourself this time. You pretty much rearranged every book on the shelves. Twilight's gonna be proud." He said to himself.
"I sure am, Spike." Said a voice behind him.
Spike quickly turned around to see it was Twilight.
"Woah! Um... Hey, Twilight. You kinda startled me sneaking up on me like that." He said, a little surprised.
"Sorry about that, Spike. I just wanted to tell you that I'm proud of you for being a good friend and my number one assistant. Now that you're through rearranging my books, what are you gonna do?" She asked.
Spike put a claw on his chin and snapped his fingers.
"I know! I think that I'm gonna see Rarity today." He said.
Twilight laughed a little.
"You see her everyday, Spike."
"I love her what'd you expect?"
"You keep saying that. Are you sure it's not just a silly crush?" Twilight asked.
"I thought that too." Spike said, "But then it developed into something even bigger and my feelings for her became real."
Twilight thought about it for a second.
Hmm. Eh, I guess I'll take your word for it." She said, "Well, have fun at Rarity's. What are you gonna do over there anyway?"
Spike held up one claw.
"First thing I'm gonna do is see if she need supplies to work on new dresses. Then again, considering she runs a boutique, I bet she has plenty." He said.
"And what are you going to do after that?" Asked Twilight.
Spike then held up two claws.
"Oh that's easy. The second thing I'm gonna do is tell her something that I've been wanting to tell her for a long time. I am finally going to tell her I love her." He declared.
Twilight was surprised.
"I thought you already told her."
"Not yet. But I will."
"Okay. See ya later, Spike!" Twilight said as she waved to her friend.
Spike waved back.
"See ya, Twilight!"
And with that, Spike went off to Ponyville to see Rarity. Spike walked through the town humming a tune to himself until he was stopped by a man. This man was wearing a poncho with a hood covering his face.
"Who are you?" Spike asked, a little nervous.
"Who? Me? My name is Johnny Black. I am the brother of Red-eye Xaxa. And I come to you with some horrible news." Said the man.
"What news?"
"I hate to tell you this, but... the pony you love has found someone else to love."
The dragon's eyes widened.
"Wh-What?! What do you mean? What kind of proof do you have?" He asked.
Johnny Black then took something out of his pocket. It was a little blue crystal. Spike raised his eyebrow.
"Is that a crystal."
"It's not just any crystal. It's a record crystal. One of the things it can do is record people's conversations. All the proof is on here."
The man hands Spike the crystal and walks away. Little did Spike know, the man had a psychotic smile on his face. He then looked at the crystal in his hands and put it up to his ear. He could hear a conversation between Kaleb and Rarity. Rarity was thanking Kaleb for helping her with her dresses. Spike then heard the unthinkable; he heard Rarity kiss Kaleb. He then heard Kaleb say if he thought Spike wouldn't approve of it and Rarity brushing it off as a silly crush.
When he heard that, he dropped the crystal and ran away from Ponyville. Meanwhile in somewhere far away, Johnny Black was talking to Queen Chrysalis on his com.
"Do you think Spike will kill Kaleb? He is a baby dragon after all." He said.
"Dragons are one of the most powerful creatures in all of Equestria. He should be able to. And when he does, nothing will stand in our way." The changeling queen said.
We cut to Spike who was running. He then stopped and dropped to his knees. He looked at the ground with tears in his eyes.
"I can't believe it." He thought, "Rarity doesn't think I love her, but loves Kaleb instead. What... What am I gonna do?"
He then rose to his feet and clenched his fists.
"I know what I'll do. I'll fight him for him for it! Maybe then he'll learn what happens when he messes with somepony else's girl. I may not kill him. But I will kick his ass." He said.
Huh

But in the end

Spike started running again.

He then imagined Kaleb and Rarity kissing which made him mad even more.
After all the stealing and cheatin'

Spike blew fire at the images. We then see him walk through the fire.
'Cause if it wasn't for all that you tried to do
I wouldn't know just how capable I am to pull through
So I wanna say thank you
He then punched and kicked at the air

Spike then started remembering all the good times he had with Kaleb.
Never saw it coming
All of your backstabbing
Just so you could cash in on a good thing
Before I realized your game
He took out a picture of Kaleb and looked at it in anger.
I heard you're goin' round playin' the victim now
But don't even begin feeling I'm the one to blame
'Cause you dug your own grave
He threw the picture away and walked towards us.
After all of the fights and the lies
Guess you're wanting to harm me
But that won't work anymore (no more aha it's over)
'Cause if it wasn't for your torture
I wouldn't know how to be this way now and never back down
So I wanna say thank you
He started punching and kicking again, but this time, at the camera.

The area went dark and a spotlight shined on Spike.
How could this man I thought I knew
Turn out to be unjust so cruel

He then started running towards the camera.
You tried to hide your lies
Disguise yourself through living in denial
But in the end you'll see you won't stop me
He jumped in the air and started kicking and punching again.

He then saw an image of Kaleb.

He jumped up really high and punched it in the face as hard as he could. He brought his fist on to the ground.

He slowly rose to his feet and started walking forward. He had his eyes closed.

He opened his eyes and looked forward.

Spike then blew fire at the camera. We cut to Kaleb who just got back to Rainbow's after helping his friends. He wiped the sweat from his forehead.
"Whew! Talk about a hard day's work. Well, time to go in and help make dinner. I wonder what we're having." He thought.
A few minutes later, Kaleb, Rainbow, and Gilda were eating homemade hay-fries and homemade hay-burgers. Rainbow asked if he ever had one and he said no. The girls then told him to try some. After he did, he was surprised at how good it tasted. While they were eating, they heard a knock at the door.
"I'll get it." Rainbow said.
Once she opened the door, she looked around to see if someone was there.
"Anypony here?" She asked.
She then looked down and saw an envelope with Kaleb's name on it. She picked it up, looked it over, and took it inside. After closing the door, she flew towards the kitchen.
"Hey, Kaleb."
Kaleb turned to her.
"Yeah, Rainbow?"
"I just found a letter outside on the front porch and it's addressed to you. Do you know anything about that?" She asked, a little suspicious.
Kaleb was confused.
"That's strange. I don't remember sending for a letter." He said.
He opened it and began to read.
"Dear Kaleb." He read, "I am glad to tell you that you have won a trip to Manehatten and a date with one of the most beautiful ponies in all of Equestria! Meet me in the field outside Ponyville to claim your date and your prize!"

Kaleb was even more confused. Gilda took the letter and began looking it over herself.
"I didn't know I've won something. Heck, I didn't even know I've won anything ever since I got here. But nice to know." He said.
Gilda got an unsure look.
"Uh, Kaleb. I get kind of a weird vibe from this letter." She said.
"What do you mean by 'weird'?" Asked Kaleb.
"I mean weird as in bad."
"I'm sure it's probably nothing."
Kaleb walked to the door and opened it. He glanced back at the girls and winked at them.
"Wish me luck." He said.
After he shut the door, the duo waited a couple of seconds before Rainbow checked outside to see if he was gone.
"Is he gone?" Gilda asked.
Rainbow shut the door and turned to the griffon.
"Yeah, he's gone." She replied.
Gilda put the letter down on the table and flew towards the door.
"C'mon. We're gonna follow him."
"What? Why?"
Gilda looked at her friend seriously.
"Because I know whoever wrote that letter isn't exactly 'anonymous'. I instantly recognized the writing." She said.
"Who's writing is it?" Asked Rainbow.
"It belongs to a certain dragon. A baby dragon."
Rainbow thought about it for a second and her eyes widened.
gasp* You mean it's... Spike?"
Gilda closed her eyes and nodded.
"That's right, Dash."
"But... Why him? Why would he lie?"
"I don't know. But something's going on and I don't like it. I have a feeling he's gonna do something rash."
"How do you know for sure?" Rainbow asked.
Gilda pointed at her friend knowingly.
"Trust me, Dash. I've seen this happen before. I know how these things work." She told her.
Gilda opened the door and flew out with Rainbow following her. The pegasus started to fly too.
"Are ya ready, Dash?" The griffon asked.
The pegasus nodded with a serious look.
"Ready when you are, Gilda." She said.
They both flew off to see if their friend truly was in trouble.
Author's Note: I know I said Kaleb was going to get in a fight, but that will be in the next chapter. I promise. Also, what did you think of the song choice for Spike? Originally, I was going to go with Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" but then I thought Christina Aguilera's "Fighter" would be a better choice, so I went with that. I DO NOT own the song by the way.
