Chapter 12

"Something New Emerges."

"My name's Kazuma and today I'm gonna be your substitute teacher, Mr. Dic said he had to leave the class for the time being, and I, for a year, would be your classroom teacher. Questions?"

"How old are you?"

"I'm 13 years old."

"Haah?! And you teach our class? The Devil-Intermediate?!"

"Yes."

"Are you powerful?"

"Yes."

"Proof! We need proof!"

These little maniacs, is power all they thought? A teacher had to be wise too. So a show of power huh? It was easy for him to do so but…

"Fireworks EX."

Maybe a little trick would convince them, yeah, a 'little' tri-

BOOM!

They jumped in shock and looked out the window, in the sky, fireworks were everywhere, they were literally everywhere! Every inch of the sky is covered by them. The sky is colourful now. This… this is just a mere Fireworks spell?!

They snapped their heads at their teacher, who blinked at the sky.

'EX is a little bit too much, maybe SS is enough. Oh well.'

"Teacher! You're so cool!"

"Wow! Amazing! This prideful one is amazed by you, teacher!"

Praises were thrown at him and he just waved his hand. Of course, a few of them were still unconvinced and shot him a contemptuous look. There is even ridicule in those gazes of them!

How unscrupulous.

Most of them are the younger ones, or the ones with light red eyes. A pair of eyes the members of the main clan only had. The vital members of the clan attained pink eyes. In fact, there's one here.

Ah yes, Prodigies, arrogant ones. How typical.

"Tsk, a mere sub-spell he trained to such a degree? What is he? A clown?"

"A sheer branch member dared to teach us? Insulting!"

Well, at least they did not question his qualifications as a teacher. Ah, as expected of the Devil-Intermediate class, their intelligence did not betray his expectations.

He did not understand why these 'active' arrogant people exist. To be honest, he was arrogant, but only when someone brought him up by badmouthing him, or when someone provoked him that overstepped the boundary. He was never active about it, always passive. As long as no one disturbs him, he wouldn't randomly boast.

Isn't that common sense though?

Flaunting their parent's possessions and insulting someone 'lower than them'? Come on! Such an attitude is more pathetic than those beggar children's! You showed off with the position your ancestor attained! How sad is that?

And what is worse? There are grown-ups, gods who acted the same way as these kids. He understands these kids are arrogant because, in the end, they are kids. But those grown-ups?

Man, he didn't know that the 'eighth grade syndrome' aka chuunibyou, a problem where one thinks they are involved in sort of mystifying occurrences is possible for grown-ups. Usually, it occurred to preteens.

How amusing.

Anyway, as long as they don't step over the boundary, then he doesn't really care.

Among them, he noticed a particular looking girl. Why? She looks exactly like E-02. What is this? A coincidence?

Yeah right.

'Hmm… such an intentional intent, that ambitious kid.'

He chuckled lightly, shaking his head and straightening his posture. Adjusting his glasses, he streamed a tiny amount of mana to the tip of his index finger and sculptured some words onto the manatite board.

Three words, and the kids' attention have been brought to him.

The Grand Magician.

"What do you know about The Grand Magician?"

For the first subject, he brought up the person that has the most impact on his life other than his family.

The Grand Magician, Kseudon.

As soon as he stepped out of the way from the board, their eyes lit up. It's understandable, after all, this is The Grand Magician, a person with the most powerful, destructive ability in the continent, even adults would be excited hearing such an influential figure.

"Oh! Teacher! He trained a group called Future Overlords!"

One of the students exclaimed out, raising her hand rather vigorously. He glanced at her and gave her a thumbs-up, receiving him a beaming smile.

The students narrowed their eyes at each other, their gazes staggered each others' back. And he just smiled slightly, even for this trivial question caused a spark of competitiveness within this class.

Having been in such a high place for so long, he might be underestimating these students.

"The Grand Magician is a legendary figure who could turn a country with a mere wave of his hands!"

"He could placed his feet onto the sky without even struggling!"

"He's the one who's absolute!"

Some exaggerating, some surprisingly accurate, and some just… randomly came across. He snickered and raised his voice.

"Alright! I'm satisfied with your knowledge of the subject. Let me start to explain, The Grand Magician is the one who eradicated the evils within the Dark Canyon in the remains of the kingdom infamous for its self-destruction, The Norse Kingdom, and…"

And from there on, the class went smoothly.

Cafeteria #7.

"Waaah! Onii-chan! I missed you!"

"Me too, Megumin, me too."

"I love you!"

"Such strong words, I love you too, my little sister."

Snickering at the way her face distorted, he pushed her away by her shoulders and took a peek at her robe. Ah, 4 black stripes? As expected, she ranked up again. A voluptuous silhouette appeared behind Megumin and he was surprised to find out who it was.

"H-Hello, Kazuma-Kun! It's been a while."

How surprising, a meek person was granted with a rather shapely figure. Is this the way this world works? Oddly, it always happens anywhere. An unexplainable phenomenon that seems trivially happened.

He nodded at her and replied.

"Yunyun, you grow up."

Unlike his little sister who he met constantly, Yunyun doesn't meet him often. Rivals were made when he visited the Transcendent Realm and he couldn't stay here too long, remember the time gaps? Yeah, it sucks.

"Y-Yep! Now, I could manifest it smoothly! All thanks to you!"

"Don't give me too much credit, your hard work plays a big part."

A hand tugged his robe, he peered at the owner of it and saw a pair of crimson eyes staring at him in confusion.

"Onii-chan, where's Komekko? I heard she came today."

"She will come, don't worry."

Two hands hugged his middle, and the said person appeared.

"Baa! Onii-chan, the class was so easy! I have so much fun!"

He brings her forth and a reunion between sisters occurred. It… didn't happen as he expected.

"Waah! Your boobs are so small Onee-chan!"

"...you little devil, come here!"

Of all things she could say, 'those' are the first thing she said? What happened to her? Even he was shocked. What happened to the innocent little Komekko? What kind of monster would introduce her to it? Despair filled his heart, but he hid it.

Innocent Komekko is gone.

Such a cruel truth.

Besides him, Yunyun just stared at the reunion blankly, a drop of sweat trailing through her forehead.

"...what? You're serious? They started moving?"

A distant voice invaded his ears, it was one of the students that gathered around behind the pillar of the Cafeteria. While his female companions bickering with each other, he tried eavesdropping on their conversation. Who knows, maybe he could find something interesting?

"Yeah, you know, the rival of transcendent races, the Anti-Beliefs? Whom rumoured could compare with our races in terms of strength?"

Anti-Beliefs? Odd. Do they have something that could match the power of those popes?

"You know something about them?"

"Yeah, yesterday I heard from my father who's a General that a strange phenomenon happens within the church that worshipped the Goddess of Fortune in the Capital of Brydle Empire. A maniacal man with tattered clothes forced himself into the church and started to scream bizarre things."

"What he said?"

"He said "The King of Hell shall descend and bring utter destruction upon this world! No one could stop his unstoppable march! His spear penetrates all! His strength is unmatched! Doomsday shall arrive within! HAHAHAHA!"

"Wow, that's creepy."

"Yeah, I know."

"Anyway, let's meet up with Khrüshan."

"That guy often spouts some shameless exclamations through…"

"Who cares?"

"I do!"

They scattered, ending the conservation.

A pair of glowing eyes unknowingly spectating them. An apathetic complexion in the dark distorted, his eyes stared vaguely and he scoffed at nothing.

'Whatever.'

As long as it does not involve outward threats, then he doesn't concern himself in such a conflict. Let the occupants of this world handle it. King of Hell? King of Space? King of Time?

As long as it does not involve the Transcendent Realm, it would be fine. After all, other than the Transcendent Races, there's another group that holds the ungodly amount of strength.

The Association of Beliefs.

A group made by assembling all of the beliefs that exist in this world. If they think they could bring destruction upon this world, then they are pretty foolish. An association made out of hundreds of beliefs across the 4 continents is waiting for them if they keep persistent about it.

And a being who always stands above all.

The Demon King.

Oh, and don't forget about The Grand Magician.

He wanted to see how they would puncture such a lineup. Hehehe.

He's pretty curious about them though, what cards will they play for such enemies? He has some vague ideas, but let's keep them for the time being.

"Where are you, Nii?"

He heard a voice calling him out, and as expected, the owner of the voice would be his little sister. He appeared from the dark region of the Cafeteria and smiled lightly.

"I'm here, I saw something intriguing and I just had to check it out. What's up?"

"Did you know that the 19380th anniversary of the academy would be celebrated by holding a competition between 4 races?"

"No."

"Aaah… what a straightforward reply…"

Yunyun said slowly, blinking her large eyes and bringing out something from her pocket. Huh, a brown sheet? Megumin, who was chasing Komekko the whole time, widened her eyes in surprise when Yunyun pulled it out.

"Y-Yunyun! How could you not tell me such an important matter! You traitor!"

"W-wait Megumin! It is not what you think it is! It's just that yesterday you said that you don't want to be disturbed because Kazuma-Kun would come today!"

"ARGH! Y-YOU MAKE IT WORSE!"

"Huh? Onee-chan, Onii-chan, what's wrong?"

Standing stiffly at the sideline, he just watches as the chaos unfolded. Smiling slightly, he stared at the sky with half-lidded eyes, crossing his arms over his chest.

'Just like the old days.'

Moments like this are very important, he realized, so he gotta make the best out of it.

Borderline Between Continent X and Y.

Within a dark valley that separates two continents, two silhouettes were standing before a massive circle on the wall, within it are numerous fragments. It looks like a puzzle. Currently, the progress of it is approximately 84%.

The taller silhouette turned its head to the one beside it and stated in a cracky, old voice.

"How many fragments have we managed to gather?"

The figure beside him replied with an emotionless, but a surprisingly feminine voice.

"There are 149 fragments, Sir."

"Hihihi… 29 more, and our objective will be within our reach… Wonderful!"

"Sir, there's a report from one of your subordinates, it said that our moves have been leaked to the Brydle Empire at the Central of the Continent X."

"Tsk, so what? They are too late anyway, the rest of the fragments are below this very land, and they don't even know about it."

"But sir, they said that almost all of the Kingdoms and Empires in the Continent X have created an alliance with each other. To make it even worse, Popes and the Overlords are starting to watch our every move."

"All of them are nothing in the face of it! Destruction shall descend upon this world! Tell me Syvren, tell me, what is our goal?!"

"To be dedicated to the Destructor and remove all of the nuisances within this world."

"WHY?!"

"Because we wanted to show the world that we are not some weaklings living just to survive. We have purposes! We wouldn't let our pride be trampled just like that!"

What an unreasonable reason to cause chaos throughout the world.

"Wonderful, Syvren, wonderful. Now, dispatch 249 assassins to patrol every of our territory."

"Affirmative, I shall- WHAT?!"

The feminine outburst surprised the old one. He stared at the frozen figure of the female voice and asked with a mix of confusion and annoyance.

"Urgh, Syvren, why did you have to scream like that? It hurts my ears."

"I-I A-Apologize Sir, I-I, B-But Bu-"

"Just tell me."

"T-The Demon King."

"Huh? Why did you bring that person up now?"

"One of your subordinates reported that The Demon King had killed the group of assassins that were dispatched to the West."

"...Fuck."

"...with a single spell."

Continent X, West.

"Revolving Sky, SSS."

"Argh!"

"Oof!"

In a forest full of trees and bushes, screams and screeches could be heard, they sound terrifying. But what makes the situation more terrifying is the swirling air that punctured the sky itself, bringing the earth and cloud within it with mere wind force. Absolutely terrific. A sole figure in the sky standing before the swirling air, not even moving a single bit of inch despite the force and pressure the tornado generated.

Two dots of green penetrated all, if someone was near, they clearly could witness the intense flash two dots emitted. Raven hair moves constantly as the harsh blow from the swirling air keeps trying to threw his form.

The figure seems to be moving his hand upwards, and fascinatingly, with a wave of his hand, the disaster disappeared, like it did not even exist in the first place. When all of the harsh wind disappeared, several dozens of corpses laid down lifelessly on the soil of the earth were revealed. They were camouflaged within the soil and the collapsed trees.

"Next."

Two dots moved to the left, and with just a mere gesture, the figure disappeared, leaving destruction to those who against him in his trail.
