Drabble Summary: In which Ichigo proposes a question, and Harry questions the question.

Chapter One: Drabble One — "Runaway" Ichigo Kurosaki/Harry Potter

"Runaway with me."

For a moment, Harry thought Ichigo had been joking. As their eyes met, noting the seriousness on the other's face, the lack of jest in his eyes and the other's posture. His throat went dry. The question had been serious. Straightening his composure placing the book onto the table, Harry gave Ichigo his undivided attention. The question came out of the left field. What exactly brought this on in the first place? It seemed unlike Ichigo to ask out of the blue.

"Runaway?" Harry asks confused and mildly curious.

Ichigo nodded shortly. He promptly took the seat next to him. "Runaway with me," He repeats.

"Not that I'm not flattered." Harry pauses and focuses on Ichigo. There was no hint of hesitation, no hint of regret and nothing that showed possession. "And, I mean, it's not like I haven't thought about it before. Running away, I mean. Going somewhere else and…" Being free. A desire that Harry learned never to voice. Hiding deep inside. His head shook. "What brought this on?"

"I'm not happy."

Harry noticed the distance between the other and his friends.

"You aren't happy either," Ichigo points out.

"I can't deny that." It was not like Karakura Town had not been a peaceful place. It was relatively normal mostly despite the creatures with white masks showing up every now and again. The spirits he came across time and time again, plus the weird looks that Inoue kept sending him when passing through the halls. The people were friendly. Unlike Privet Drive and Hogwarts. Harry kept to himself until Ichigo shoved himself into his life, practically–saved him from assault. Some did not take kindly to Harry upon his arrival. While quick on his feet Harry might have been, physically he lacked the means to throw a decent punch. Thankfully, Ichigo came along before things took a turn for the worst.

For that, he'd always be grateful.

There had been an underlying understanding between the two that both noticed. The same loneliness, the same feeling of loss and abandonment, feeling lost and aimless. It had been what drew one another to each other.

"Where would we go? Do you have a place in mind?"

Ichigo nodded and pulled out a pamphlet. "Canada."

"Canada?" Harry repeated, bewildered in surprise.

"No one would ever think about looking for us there. They'd expect us to head to America. It is the very last place they'd ever think about looking for us," Ichigo points out. "It's a good place too. We can get student visas and work towards citizenship. And…"

Harry leaned in the chair. "For University?"

"We can go to the same University. And share an apartment and dorm together," Ichigo adds pulling out papers, spreading them on the table. "I've made enough money hiring myself with the sports teams."

Harry thought the plan structure was fairly decent. What remained was the location and where to go from there. The thought of University felt like a distant dream, one out of his reach, believing his destiny laid in the path of the auror as his eyes widened to the world around him and doubt settled within. Now the path laid empty.

"I don't even know what I want to do." It's the honest thing Harry has ever said.

Ichigo shrugged. "And I do? We'll figure it out."

"Let's say we go with this plan of yours. What about the expenses? The execution date? Where'd we go and how long it takes to get there?"

"I don't know." Ichigo's scowl deepened.

Harry resisted his urge to sigh. Was this how Hermione felt whenever Ron and he never planned things out completely?

What goes around, comes around, he supposed.

"We'll figure it out," Ichigo repeats firmly, confident in his words. "We have time."

It had been a nice thought. Life taught Harry nothing went as expected. "I say we move the plan up."

"Move up?" Brows furrowed together, confused. His frown deepened further. "Why?"

"Insurance."

"I don't really get it. If you think moving the plan up is a good idea, let's do it."

Harry blinked owlishly. "And you're okay with that?"

"Well, yeah." Ichigo folded his arms. "If it's you, it's fine."

Was that a compliment? It had been an odd one. Oddly enough, his cheeks burnt slightly, bowing his head.

"Thanks."

The sound of the chair stomping the ground snapped Harry out of his thoughts and felt the gentle caressing of Ichigo's hand against his cheek. Fingers played with the dark locked intensely brown hues gazing back, watching in breath-taking awe witnessing Ichigo's scowling expression fade into a gentler, softer look.

"You look better when you smile," He whispers. "And cuter when you blush."

The blush on Harry's face grew brighter. Instead of pulling away from the touch, carefully his hand rested on the other's hand, averting the gaze momentarily. Emerald eyes slide back connecting at the warm brown staring back. "I'm not sure cute fits. As for the smile," a faint one trace the corner of his mouth. "Maybe, I'll smile more. For you."

"For me, huh?" Ichigo leered forward, smirking. "I can get behind that."

"I'm sure you can get behind a lot of things," Harry quipped back nonchalantly.

The expression manifested on Ichigo's face was hilarious. The indignation that erupted with loud protest accompanied with the fits of laughter from Harry, anyone who noticed gave them odd looks although proceeded on their way.

If there was anyone that Harry would run away with, it would be Ichigo.

Now the question was, how were they going to pull this off?

Chapter End.

So this is a set of drabbles that's been on my mind for a while now that I've wanted to write. It's also to help get back into the writing game, so chapters might be sporadic and short, or longer depending on the idea.

Feel free to send in suggestions. Please note that I will not be shipping or writing drabbles of Harry and Sirius with guys from the HP series.
