'Thoughts'

Izuku Yagi was a cheerful, 4-year-old boy with only one dream, to be a great hero. He had always hoped to get a really powerful quirk in order to achieve his dream and walk in the footsteps of his idol, All Might.

Today was the day that he would finally get his quirk tested by the quirk doctor. He and his sister were so excited that they woke up really early and started to annoy their mother to also wake up.

Izuku: "MOM! MOM! GET UP FAST!"

Izumi: "YEAH! WE"RE GONNA BE LATE FOR OUT QUIRK TEST."

Inko: "alright alright, we'll get some McDonald's (not sponsored) for breakfast"

Izuku and Izumi: "YAAAAAY!"

After having breakfast, the trio quickly heads over to the quirk doctor they had set an appointment with. Izuku was holding his favorite All MIght action figure, while Izumi was holding an action figure of the number 12 hero Magnet (Basically it is the hero identity of Inko).

Doctor: "So, I have some good news and some bad news about each of your children's quirks"

Inko: *gulps*" The bad news first please"

Doctor: "Well, your son Izuku will not be developing a quirk."

Izuku: "W-What?" *drops the action figure*

Doctor: *shows an X-ray of Izuku's toe* He has 2 joints in the pinky of his toe, which is a feature that has not been found in the people who develop a quirk. Having the extra joint is most likely a sign that your child will likely be 'quirkless' and never develop a quirk.

Izuku was desperately holding his tears back as he did not want to worry his mom or sister.

Inko " That is really sad. And what is the good news?"

Doctor: The good news is that your daughter Izumi has inherited a better version of you Telekinesis quirk"

Inko: "Oh, hear that Izumi you can become a really strong hero," she says as she picks Izumi and Hugs her daughter, while Izuku is left to sit on the chair in complete shock at his test result.

Izumi: "Yeah! I will be the best hero"

(Time skip to when they reach home)

Toshinori has been walking around the house with tension in his mind.

Toshi: 'what's taking them so long? They should be home by now'

Suddenly the door to the house creaks open and Inko, Izuku, and Izumi come in. Both Inko and Izumi were happy, while Izuku kept his shocked expression and is still holding back his tears.

Toshi: "So, how was the test? Why were you late? What are the children's quirks?"

Inko: "Clam down Toshinori. Kids, please go to your room, for now, I have to talk with your father"

Both the children comply, Izumi practically ran to her room in excitement, while Izuku was much slower and was barely holding onto his All Might action figure. Izuku laid on his bed and finally let out all the tears he was holding back. Eventually, he fell asleep.

(back with Inko and Toshi)

Toshi: "Now can you tell me what their quirks are"

Inko: "Yeah, about that, Izumi has inherited a better version of my telekinesis"

Toshi: "That is great news, she can probably be a better hero than you in the future. What about Izuku, what quirk will he get"

Inko: "He won't have one, the doctor diagnosed him as quirkless"

Toshi: "Oh, that is quite sad, how is Izuku feeling about all this?"

Inko: "I-I don't know, he hasn't said a word ever since we got his test result. Hey, can't you give him one for all, then he can be happy"

Toshi: "I can't let my emotions take over me and just give him one for all, I need to find someone who is truly worthy, plus, we can't burden him with all this at such a young age, same with Izumi"

Inko: "I understand, but what do we do about Izuku?"

Toshi: "Let's just leave it for now and give him some time to figure it out" Little did they know that leaving him alone is a big mistake, they will regret after a few years.

After that day, Toshinori and Inko started giving more attention to Izumi and encouraging her to follow her dream of becoming a great hero, while poor Izuku was left alone. His parent started spending less and less time with him, as they thought they were giving him his personal space to figure things out. Inko even started training Izumi to use her telekinesis properly.

(In the kindergarten playground a few days later)

Izuku was pretty much isolated from everyone else, only his 2 best friends Iida, Uraraka, were playing with him, but he wasn't really having much fun.

(With Izumi, Bakugou, Todoroki, Momo, ) (some of the Class 1-A goes to the same Kindergarten)

Izumi: "I'm really worried about my brother"

Momo: "Why is that?"

Izumi: "He says he wants to be a hero even though he is quirkless. I saw in the news how a pro hero with a pretty strong quirk was easily beaten by the villain. He can't defend himself properly without a quirk and will get himself killed on the battlefield"

Todoroki: "Then we must somehow convince him not be a hero or he could really get hurt"

Bakugou: "How about we beat him up with our quirks and make him realize that he cannot be a hero without a quirk"

Though reluctant at first, Izumi agreed to the 'great plan' given by Bakugou. The then went over to the group of Izuku, Uraraka, and Iida.

Izumi: "So, brother, do you still want to be a hero even though you are quirkless"

Izuku: "Yes, I will train harder so that I can be a hero"

As he said this, Izumi used her telekinesis to hit him with a pebble while Bakugou used his explosions on him and knocked him far away. Iida and Uraraka get in between them and stop the fight.

Uraraka: "What the hell are you guys doing?"

Iida: "Stop this at once, hitting a fellow classmate is against the rules and hero code"

Momo: "We are just trying to teach him a lesson so that he stops trying to be a hero"

Izumi: "Y-Yeah! Just get out of our way and let us do our duty"

Iida and Uraraka: "NEVER"

Bakugou: "Okay then, I've heard if you are near a quirkless person, then you start to lose your quirk as well"

Uraraka: "Y-you're lying"

All of them then left thinking that they had beaten enough sense into Izuku, but even with their powerful quirks, they could not even scratch Izuku's drive to be a hero. That day Izuku went home and searched the Internet for ways to train and get stronger, he then came across a full diet plan with exercise and sleep schedule included. He did not want to ask his parents for money so as to not trouble them. He found out about Dagabaoh Municipal Beach and decided to use the trash there as training equipment.

(note: He did not clean the beach, he just used the trash instead of dumbles)

The next day in school was pretty bad for Izuku as he was so exhausted from lifting all the trash. During the recess, he noticed that his 2 'friends' Iida and Uraraka had not talked to him yet, in fact, they had moved away from his seat in the class. Being pretty smart, he knew that the previous day's events had influenced this. This made him really sad, and when he got home, he ran straight to his room and started crying again.

(Timeskip to when Izuku is 10 years old)

Over the years, Izuku had achieved the best physique in his school and also the most intelligent person in his class. He would probably be the most popular kid in school if it weren't for him being quirkless.

Izumi, Shoto, and Bakugou still beat him up whenever he mentioned becoming a hero and he never really tried and defend himself as he feared that the bullying might get worse. Some other kids also beat him up with their quirks, though most chose to stay away as they thought that 'quirklessness' is contagious. Even though he was pretty strong physically, mentally he was depressed, though he was happy with the results of his training. He had a lot of scars and burn marks on his body and arms from the beatings.

His mom and dad had dedicated their time to training Izumi and making her telekinesis stronger and more versatile. She is now able to create barriers to defend herself, though that puts some pressure on her head. Izuku, being really smart, had noted this down as one weakness.

He had met and befriended a retired pro hero, named Rugu, who was the only person to encourage him. He had an Energy Manipulation quirk and taught some basic combat skills to Izuku, which he learned quickly, but never really used them to defend himself.

Rugu played a very important role in Izuku's life and even brought him out of depression. He was more of a family to him than even his real family.

(With a 14-year-old Izuku on the dinner table with his mom and sister, on the last day of summer vacation)

Izuku was quietly writing stuff in his notebook, while Inko and Izumi were talking about Izumi's progress on her telekinesis training, now she could handle some more pressure on her head before reaching her limit. Izuku, who was secretly eavesdropping on their conversation, wrote some of the things from their conversation into his notebook.

Toshinori was the one who was cooking today, he was making some curry with rice.

Izuku was never close to anyone in his family, the only person whom he considered a real friend was Rugu. He had never really had a proper conversation with his parents ever since being diagnosed quirkless. He was scared of Izumi, as he thought that she might hit him with something using her powers. His parents never really paid attention to any of the bandages he always had on. They just shrugged it off as kids 'playing rough'.

Toshinori had already told Izumi about Their secret identities and that she was a candidate for inheriting One For All. They hadn't told Izuku about any of this, as they never expected him to be a worthy candidate because he always kept to himself and didn't really have any friends, which, according to them, was a sign that he might become a villain.

Toshi: ' Maybe it is time to pass on One For All to Izumi, Can't really be a hero with this kind of injury'

At this moment All Might was completely willing to pass on his quirk to someone. He did not notice that one of his hair had fallen into Izuku's plate while he was setting his plate.

As soon as they got their plates Izuku took his to his room. He had done this everyday for over 5 years. Inko and Toshinori just thought that he wanted to eat while studying, so didn't give it much thought. Izumi thought the same thing.

The real reason Izuku did this, was because he felt vulnerable while eating, and felt that Izumi might attack him if he sat with her on her table. In his room, he felt relaxed alongside all his All Might merch, he quickly gulped down all the food with some water and went to sleep. He ate so fast that he failed to notice that there was a strand of hair on his plate and swallowed it.

Little did he know that the next day was going to be full of events that would change everything.
