Chapter 3 - Confrotation
Ayanokoji's Pov:
I expected the opening ceremony for this school to be special in some way, judging by what I knew how the school worked, but it was actually pretty generic. But too boring...
And if I found it tedious, imagine Victorique... I could have sworn she was going to fall apart at any moment right there. During the opening I could see she was doing her best to just not lie down on the floor right there. Lelouch also looked pretty bored like he was going to sleep, but not as much as she was.
Well I can't blame them. Imagine being 2 hours straight listening to shit with shit from these people's mouths. Even I found it a total waste of time. I think this was the first time in my life that I felt like cursing the person who was talking, to make them stop talking. Well you can't blame me can you? Try to be happy with someone taking 2 hours out of their life with a lot of bullshit about school this, school that, prestige this. I really hope I never hear that person's voice again in my life. And I'm sure Lelouch and Victorique must be wanting the same.
After the ceremony, 70-80 percent of the students returned to their dorms, as we have nothing else to do at school for the rest of the day. And it won't be long before it's over. Damn this school for holding students for 2 hours and forcing them to listen to small talk. I decided to visit the convenience store on a whim.
I was a little lost in my thoughts as I walked. I was thinking how much I should hold back at this school, if I should. Normally, I would do my best just to blend in and become a completely normal student, allowing me to have the peaceful life of a normal student that I wanted so badly.
However, this is practically impossible now. I was assigned to Class E - the supposed 'experimental class' which is a small group of unique talents in the eyes of the school, and based on what I've seen of them, I completely agree. The one that caught my attention the most, Victorique, she seems to have eagle eyes. Even when she's no good at something, she can still see without any problems. Your analytical insight and deductions are very good too.
Still a solid sight for my classmates, so I shouldn't be thinking that much. She really got me interested huh?
Next month, when Class E is revealed to the rest of the student body, my prominence will be unavoidable, even if I try to act like an ordinary student.
The question then becomes just one. How much should I hold on? If I somehow become the weakest link in the group, I'm sure to be the center of attention, at least in that room. On the other hand, if I set myself up as a superior student, I would probably be challenged often and maybe even end up with a target in my back born of jealousy.
My mind also thought of another possibility.
What if I just hit the fuck and go all out from the start?
I mean, I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to test myself against my classmates. I actually feel excited. All of them are geniuses or have excellent talent in a certain area. Apparently we have 3 people who are very fond of games. Shiro, Sora and Jabami.
I'm not counting Lelouch, because it looks like he just played chess to make money, I don't think he really found pleasure playing. Jabami is also a bit unusual in this, the question she asked Sensei earlier still intrigued me. It made me think that maybe what she really enjoyed was gambling.
Why do I have the impression that many people will go broke because of it?
The others I still need a better view as I haven't interacted with them much.
My colleagues decided to keep the E-Class a secret until May 1st. The person who wanted this was Sora as we went to the entrance ceremony. His answer was that he would find it fun to see other people's expressions when class E is announced. I honestly didn't understand him.
10 elite students allocated to a single class. I still can't help but think of something more than just an 'experimental' project. This is all very suspicious.
But... would I really be accepted by the rest of the E-Class if I revealed all my capabilities? I couldn't be sure at this point. After all, I only met my classmates on the same day. For now I'm just going to do my part and sit at the middle of my class. Of course, the average level in Class E is probably far above even the best of students in other classes. I can't help but wonder what these 'class wars' will be like.
"You again?"
A high-pitched voice cut through my thoughts and snapped me back to reality. I looked towards the voice. It was the girl who sat on the other side and Miyuki and me on the bus. She seemed to be staring at me with a hint of... curiosity?
"Hello again. Yes it's me, but no need to be so on guard like this it's just a coincidence. I'm not following you or anything." I quickly say that. I don't want to be labeled a stalker on my first day because of some weird coincidence.
"My name is Ayanokouji Kiyotaka, nice to see you again." I introduce myself to her. It's the second time we've met, but I have a feeling we're going to see each other a lot yet.
The girl was looking at me deeply thinking about something. I scanned the shelves of various necessities, like shampoo, and thought about what I should buy. Cheap products are the best choice and option for me at the moment, as I don't have exact information on how much points we're going to get in the next month it's best to play it safe.
"Horikite Suzune." she answered me, but soon amended with something else.
"It's my name. But don't get the wrong idea. We're not friends. I don't have a need for things like that." she answered me. But I can see a hint of anger in his voice. The curious thing is that it wasn't aimed at me. Maybe it's her class? She probably didn't like her or something? It was the only conclusions I could reach.
"I see..."
But seriously, I thought I started off badly at school, but Horikita seems to be doing worse. I couldn't call my colleagues friends other than Miyuki, well at least for now. But our group seemed to get along well, I can imagine the kind of insane conversations we'll have in the future given our intelligence, well apart from Suzaku. But our group seems to be very interesting.
I took a basket and put some basic necessities in it. I opted for the cheaper options because I didn't feel the need to be overly luxurious. I looked in Horikita's direction and realized that she had also taken the cheaper items.
I would normally say something like 'I thought girls usually made a fuss about what kind of shampoo they bought'. But I chose not to. Horikita seems to be quite different from them, and our relationship now doesn't seem to be that bad. Of course I can see she's still angry about something I assumed was her class, but let's leave it for now.
"The opening ceremony was tedious, as was my classroom. Everyone decided to do the introductions, so I left quickly." she spoke out of nowhere. Huh? Is she trying to carry on a conversation? This was certainly unexpected.
"I see you seem to be quite dissatisfied with your class, but I think you'd better try to get around it, after all you're going to be with them for the next three years, are you sure you'll be fine just by yourself?"
"Don't even remind me how long I'll have to be with them. *sigh* If I'm going to be alright? Yeah, after all I've been almost all my life alone. Three years mean nothing to me." she told me a rather depressing fact. But I think I'm a bit like her in that respect, after all I've also been almost alone my whole life. Only the memory of a person I considered special to me remained.
My mother.
"Is that you? I assume you've made a lot of friends in the double digits, and that's why you're here trying to lecture me?" she kept pulling me out of my nostalgic thoughts. His tone sounded a little annoyed.
"Well I wouldn't say that, I've just made a friend so far." I answered honestly.
"The girl you were with, isn't it?" she asked, but it felt more like an affirmation.
"Yeah, even if she turns out to be the only friend I'll have at this school I still consider myself lucky. It's better to have just one real friend than a lot of superficial friendships" I reply giving my honest opinion. I still think I'll be able to make friends in my class, but I'm not confident in my social skills so it's best to keep expectations low for now.
The girl seemed to look at me thinking a little before answering.
"Well I have to agree with you on that statement. But unfortunately my class is full of retards so I guess I'm not as lucky as you were," she replied. Your answer to be honest surprised me. I thought she was going to say things like, friends are useless or something. But... it looks like she herself wants some friend she can trust.
The sound of the shop door is heard by me, so when I looked at the entrance, I could see someone from my class walking towards me. Not one but two people.
"Hello Ayanokouji-kun"
"Hey, Ayanokouji. So you're here too?"
"I think I was just curious," I replied to both people. These people were Light Yagami and Yumeko Jabami from my class.
They took a few seconds to look between me and Horikita, before Light spoke again.
"Am I intruding on a dating scene here?" he asked. I could see Horikita frowning in my peripheral vision. Seriously, Light. I was having an almost friendly conversation here and you have to say that.
"Me, with this guy? Even if he looks decent don't play." Huh? So she thinks I'm decent? This was unexpected. I could see Light and Jabami raised an eyebrow at that.
"You don't have to be so hard about this and deny it so quickly," I sighed exasperatedly.
The male newcomer smiled at our antics and turned to Horikita.
"I'm Light Yagami, Ayanokoji's classmate" he introduced himself.
"I'm Jabami Yumeko, also Ayanokoji's classmate, it's nice to meet you." Jabami also introduced himself with an excited smile. I could see Horikita frowning. That was bad. I imagined she would say something like 'Why does everyone feel the need to perform at every opportunity?' but then I was surprised again.
"Horikita Suzune. But don't think we're friends or anything," she snapped. She introduced herself huh? I think she must find us more tolerant than her classmates.
Light looked at me with a mischievous smile before speaking. Somehow I could see what he was going to say, and I really didn't like where this was going.
"You've got yourself a very interesting girlfriend, Ayanokoji. Horikita Suzune, really interesting?" he spoke to me. Speaks seriously! You're having fun with it aren't you? I'll be sure to give it back to you 10 times multiplied.
He had clearly purposely said to piss her off. And as I expected it seemed to have worked, as Horikita's expression turned to irritation. I just gave up and decided to join the game together. But I will definitely remember that in the future and make him pay. I could see that Jabami was watching everything with a smile without saying anything. She looked like a spectator in my vision. She didn't say much other than that question she asked Sensei.
"She looks like an Ice Queen right?" I answered.
"What could you two idiots be talking about, I wonder?" Horikita said, clearly annoyed.
I was about to respond when something caught my eye. Some toiletries and food had been stored in the corner of the convenience store. At first glance, they appeared to be the same as the other items, but there was a big difference.
"Hey, what is this?" I said, pointing to the cleaning box in the corner drawing their attention.
"Without cost?" Light's voice echoes.
Horikita obviously found it strange too. His annoyed expression was replaced by a curious one. Light, on the other hand, just kept his smile relaxed. He probably already had an idea why a store on campus would have absolutely free necessities. Jabami certainly noticed that too, I could see his eyes looking at the items curiously.
"They must be emergency supplies for students who have used up all their points. This school is so tolerant ." I told them.
"What kind of idiot could burn 100,000 yen in a month?" Horikita asked dumbfounded by the idea.
My eyes met Light and Jabami's and the three of us apparently understood the same thing. Despite the air of superiority surrounding Horikita that seems to have fallen a bit compared to the first time I met her, she hadn't noticed anything suspicious about System S yet.
"Hey shut the fuck up you fucker! Wait a sec! I'm looking now!"
A sudden loud voice drowned out the store's peaceful background music.
"Come on hurry up, you've got a line of people waiting for you! I should throw you to the end of it again just for talking bad, where are your manners!?"
"Oh yeah? Well if they have any complaints they can come and say it to me!"
Apparently, the problem was brewing at the cash register. A dispute broke out between two young men who were facing each other. I didn't recognize any of them, but one stood out as a well-built man with red hair. He had a totally grumpy look on his face and his hands were full of noodle cups.
I was about to approach him and speak, but Light grabbed my arm and stopped me. I could see that Jabami was watching everything carefully.
"He clearly forgot his student ID. You were about to do something stupid like offer to pay for it, weren't you?" he asks me.
He realized my intentions huh. I didn't think it was a big deal though.
"It's a few cups of noodles. They only cost 150 yen each," I replied.
Light just looked at me and shrugged as if to say everything you do and with you.
I walked up to him and I spoke and then I spoke.
"What's going on here?"
"Huh? Who are you?"
I wanted to look friendly, but the red haired guy scowled at me. Apparently, he was under the wrong impression that I was an enemy. Sigh. How troublesome.
"My name is Ayanokouji. I only asked because it seemed there were problems.
"Oh, I get it. I forgot my student ID. I forgot that it's also our money from now on."
I looked at his empty hands. I just set out to pay him, he thanked me for everything. I could feel Light and Jabami next to Horikita looking at me from behind. He told me your name, Sudo. Horikita sighed.
"You've been acting like a failure from the start. Do you intend to become his servant? Or are you doing it to make friends?" she asked.
"You know, people sometimes do things just to help someone else." Light intervened.
"That's right. I wasn't just thinking about becoming your friend."
"You shouldn't make assumptions without knowing the details Horikita" Jabami spoke calmly with a smile.
"You don't look scared." Horikita watched.
"Afraid? What would I be afraid of? Because he looks like a delinquent?" I asked. Even if it was and there were 10 of them I would just slaughter them all anyway.
"A normal person would try to keep his distance from someone like him."
"But Horikita, he doesn't seem like a particularly malicious person, he just seems a bit grumpy. Besides, you don't look scared either" Jabami spoke in his calm voice and with the same smile as always.
"Obviously, that's because only helpless people would be scared. If he acted violently, I could easily keep him under control."
"Easily, huh?" Light said with a raised eyebrow.
"We'd better finish here. We'll be a nuisance to other customers if we take too long." I said before Horikita had a chance to cling to Light's comment.
Both agreed and then we presented the students' ID cards to the machine near the cash register. As we didn't have to deal with small change, our transaction was quick and efficient.
You can really use it like money huh...
Either way, this school was certainly scary.
What merit could each student have to guarantee such a large allowance. Considering there were about 160 people enrolled in my grade, that means the school had shelled out 16 million yen for the first few years this month. Even for a government-supported school, that amount seemed quite excessive. I thought to myself as the four of us prepared to leave.
"How does this school benefit from giving us so much money?"
"They don't benefit," Light said nonchalantly.
Horikita, having just paid her things as she prepared to leave, cast a questioning look at him.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I could see Jabami smiling at this interaction. Strange...
"Exactly what I said. This school probably doesn't benefit from giving each student 100,000 a month."
It seemed that Light was giving Horikita some subtle hints, but it seemed she had no interest in looking for a hidden meaning in his words. She just looked at him like he was an idiot. I sighed at that. It really is a disappointment.
"Oh, whatever. Forget what I said," Light sighed.
"I won't tell you what to do, but I advise you not to waste money." Did she really say that to us? I could see even Jabami looking at her like she was some kind of alien. Glad she didn't notice.
I had no intention of wasting my points on different garbage and had no doubt that Light and Jabami were the same. After I paid and left the store, I found Sudo sitting outside, waiting for me. When I saw him, he nodded gently at me. I waved back feeling a little embarrassed but happy.
"Are you really going to eat here?" I asked him.
"Of course. It's just common sense."
Sudo baffled me with his practical response. Horikita sighed in exasperation. She was about to say something but it was not possible thanks to the new arrivals.
"Hey, are you first year? This is our place." a voice echoed.
While Sudo sipped his ramen, three boys called us. They looked like they'd just left the same store and were carrying the same brand of noodle cups. Light, Jabami, Horikita and I look at them.
"Who are you? I was already here. You're on your way out," Sudo barked.
"You certainly have a way with the words Sudo." Light said sarcastically.
"Are you listening to this guy? 'Fuck off,' he says. What a cocky freshman punk."
The three laughed at Sudo's face. Sudo fired slamming his noodle cup to the floor. The broth and noodles spread everywhere. I heard Light muffle a laugh beside me. Jabami was similar, since Horikita was just looking disgusted. I knew he would make fun of me for buying this noodle later, but I ignored it for now.
"First year punk, huh? You're trying to make fun of me, huh?" He screamed. I see Jabami reaching for a part of his uniform. I raise my eyebrows at that. She catches my eye and just smile pointing her finger at her lip telling me to be silent...
"You're awfully chatty considering we're sophomores in class C. We've packed our bags here already, okay?" the one in the middle spoke.
Plop! With these words, the so-called 2-C students dropped their bags and laughed out loud. Got it... this is their game. So she...I think looking at Jabami out of the corner of my eye. This will be interesting .
"See, our stuff is here. Now get the hell out of here," one of them said.
"You have a lot of courage, idiot."
Sudo didn't flinch, unfazed by being outnumbered. It looked like the fists were going to fly out at any moment. I, of course, didn't want to be a part of it and I'm sure Light didn't either. But that is not her case.
"Oh wow, scary. What class are you in? Wait, it doesn't matter. I think I know. You're in class D, aren't you?"
"Yes, is it from there?" Sudou spoke.
The seniors exchanged glances and burst out laughing. Seeing this, Light and I also exchanged glances, as if to say this wasn't just a hunch, right?
"Did you hear that? He's in class D! I knew it! It was a deadly revelation!" Deadly revelation? Horikita is just looking at everything curious about what they were talking about. She was also a Class D, but she didn't seem to mind the insults.
As Sudo barked at them, the boys smiled and backed away.
"Oh, you poor things. Since you guys are 'defective', let's take you off the hook, just for today. Let's get going, guys." They were about to go further then they heard a voice.
"So~ Guys, I'm kind of a newcomer here, could you explain to me about it? If so, I would reward you later" Jabami's voice echoed between them. They stopped and turned to see a girl with black hair and pretty brown eyes standing next to them. I saw their faces blush...
I think I was right when I had that thought earlier in the opening ceremony.
"Hohoho, miss, what class are you in?" one of the three asked.
"I'm A-Class, but no unfortunately I don't have any friends, and the girls seemed to distance themselves from me like they were jealous of something. I was buying my groceries at the store right now," she said a little sadly. Wow. She really was good.
I could see Horikita and Sudo looking at this strangely. Only Light and I had an idea of what was going on. Sudo looked like he was going to have one more fit so I grabbed his shoulder and whispered. "Calm down. That's her plan, just watch," I said confidently. Sudo just looked strangely and nodded. I think Horikita also listened and started to pay attention too.
"Very well miss, as we were saying, the 'defective' over there, is allocated in class D the class known to be made of only the 'defective' they will practically go through hell on the first day of next month, hahaha" the boy in the middle replied laughing while the other two also...
You guys are fucking idiots.
I couldn't help but think. Hell, even Light had a puzzled face that they'd fallen for it. Horikita seemed to be pondering everything he heard, while Sudo looked confused. Jabami showed a sinister smile on his face.
"I see... if I'm not mistaken, older students are forbidden to give out any information about the S-System right? What would happen if one of them said something about it to newbies?" She asked in a beautiful smiling voice, but her face... her smile was something completely different from any smile she'd ever given so far. I could see Light looking surprised by this too. Horikita was watching everything. Sudo looked a little scared of her.
The three boys then stopped laughing as they pondered their words. She then reached into her uniform and pulled out a cell phone. She turned the audio on, and left it until she got to the end. The three boys who had a smile before now had eyes full of dread... well it's their fault for letting their libido get in the way of their reasoning.
"You...you bitch, give me your cell!" One of the three screamed.
"Ara-ara, why should I give you my cell phone?" She asked with the same voice and smile as before. I sighed. I think I needed to help out here. Maybe she'll reward me with some food or something later when she's done what she's doing.
"You bitch!" One of them yelled as he ran towards Jabami trying to grab his cell phone by force. Jabami didn't move. When the man reached her with his hand, his hand was stopped by someone else. He looked at me in shock as I held his hand tightly with my golden eyes looking deep into him.
I could see out of the corner of my eyes, the three of them including Light himself perplexed by what they saw. Light and Horikita were looking at where I was and then turned back to where I am now as if they had grown a second head, well given the speed I don't blame them, I'm holding this idiot's hand. I could feel Jabami laughing at me behind my back.
I sigh at that. I will have to explain some things to them in the future.
I then start to squeeze his hand under mine with a little force.
"ARRRRRGGGGGGGG!" he screams in pain as he slowly starts to fall. I purposely loosened my grip for him to speak the magic words.
"Arg- Let go of your burglary! I'll tell the superiors about it!" He yelled as his friends did the same. I sighed as I prepared to speak.
" Listen here you idiots. "
I started with my voice sounding unlike anything they've ever seen. I could now feel Jabami's look of curiosity and excitement for some reason, and Light's more puzzled looks, along with looks of...fear? That seemed to come from Sudou and Horikita. I turned to them and could see them a little scared. Well, I don't think she wants to be my friend anymore.
I turn my gaze forward and see the person who is slumped with looks of full fear. I think I overreacted a little... let's take it easy.
"Look left you imbeciles" I said and as I spoke they reluctantly began to turn their heads slowly to the left as they froze. Just to the left above a post was a camera.
"Now, do you understand? This camera is taking everything. Even if you say something to it you will be the ones to blame. You tried to use violence on a helpless girl, I just protected her, so I ask will you tell exactly who?" I watch them run out of words. A laugh echoes in our ears.
"Now, Ayanokouji-kun. That was certainly interesting. I was more interested in you, but can you let them go now? I'll make them a proposal," she said to me. I just obeyed and released my grip and let go of his hand. He quickly started massaging her. It was possible to see a visible mark of my hand on his skin still.
I positioned myself at Jabami's side a little in front of her, as if ready to protect her at any time as I watched the situation.
"Okay boys, tell me exactly how many points the three of you have~" She started in a cheerful voice. The boys quickly said.
"II have 143.00"
"97,500"
"Tch, I have 120.00"
360,500 points huh? They have a lot of points for people in Class C, one rank only above D. So they've probably done the same tactic with other people before, hence the high points. I was sure Light and Jabami also came to the same conclusion. Sudo seemed to be looking perplexed at the scene with Horikita.
"360,500 points huh? I'll make you a proposal... let's play a game. If you beat me I'll not only delete the video but I'll also give you all my 93,000 points, while if you lose you just give me all the your points and I'll still delete the video, how about that?" Huh?
"Huh?" I heard Light's voice behind me. She sounded surprised just like I am now. What the hell is she doing? She can just take the stitches and they can't do anything with it. So why the hell is she giving them the chance to choose?
"Game? If we win you we'll give you all your points along with deleting the video right...?" asked one of them a little skeptically.
"Of course~ I don't go back on my words," she replied cheerfully as ever.
The boys looked at each other and nodded.
"We accept" they said. Jabami showed an even bigger smile.
"Horikite! Can you come here please?" She yells at Horikita taking her out of her stupor. She snaps back to reality and then starts walking towards Jabami. She comes up to us and gives me an appraising look, probably thinking of the speed and strength I've shown. How troublesome.
Jabami takes a deck of cards from his uniform. Cheap? Did she have this with her from the beginning?
"Let's play a simple game, I'll even give you an advantage. You'll get three cards each while I only take four of them. Those whose card sum is higher wins the game. I called Horikita here because she's not from our room, then she will shuffle the deck and deliver the cards, one by one to each of us until we have all our cards, you together have 9 cards to add up while I have only four of them. The jokers are not in that deck. any questions about the deck, you can come and analyze it yourself." Jabami finishes his explanation.
It's really a pretty simple game. But why put yourself at such a disadvantage? Does she have some kind of plan? I could see that Horikita and Light were also thinking about this. Sudou looked confused as he looked at everything. As said, the boys went to look at the deck, and after confirming that there was nothing suspicious, they did.
I can't help but think about what the hell this girl is doing. She already had their stitches in her hand. Why the hell make this game and bet all your points on it? It's clearly a game of luck, because the cards are random. Horikita would deal a card to each one and then return to the original sequence giving one more card until they complete all three and Jabami the four.
I was now very interested in what Jabami was thinking. She clearly had some kind of trick if not why do it? I was sure Light shared the same thoughts as me. Horikita begins to shuffle the cards with some mastery. Intriguing.
It ends and then begins dealing one by one to each one until everyone has their cards. Jabami with their four cards and the others with their combined 9 cards. They clearly have the advantage here because they have more cards, so the chance of coming something good for them is way higher than the chance of coming something good for Jabami. She downloaded her cards. Damn I couldn't see it. And it seems the others don't either.
The boys get together and start counting their cards. A smile appears on all of them. They must all have taken a relatively high number. Or adding up is already relatively high
"Hope you get your stitches ready bitch! Check it out!" He exclaims and they all turn over the cards.
The first had a queen (12) one (10) of diamonds along with one (6) of spades = 28
The second then showed his cards: a 5 of diamonds plus a 3 of spades plus a 2 of heart = 10. This second got a pitiful number. but all together there are 38...
The third party's cards were a 5 of heart along with a (4) of diamonds and (4) of clubs. Only the first one had anything decent but still... Putting all these cards together you have exactly the number 51.
In other words... the only way for Jabami to win this game is to take all four kings from the deck. She is clearly in a dangerous situation here. And then the three stop smiling when they hear a sinister laugh.
"Fufufu, Hahahaha HAHAHAHAHA!" Jabami starts laughing madly. Did she go crazy? It doesn't seem to be the case. Then she...
Jabami turns his cards over for everyone to see...
The 4K (kings) of the deck. She got a number 52 one more than they did. They went blank. Did she foresee this from the beginning?
"II-That's impossible! You clearly cheated!" One of them yelled at the other two in agreement. Then Jabami starts laughing even more scaring them.
" I cheated you say? HAHAHAHAHAHA! You guys are funny, it's impossible for me to have done that you saw with your own eyes, the game was fair. I was completely outnumbered here and could lose all my points if it wasn't just passing luck but that's what makes it exciting! " she exclaimed out of nowhere in a sinister voice. And then she stops after a while and makes a pretty cool pose in my opinion...
I could have sworn I saw his eyes glow red for a split second. I took drugs and am hallucinating? No, that's impossible. It must have been an impression. But I'm curious how she did it. Clearly it must have been luck. I don't believe it, she made a big disadvantage bet for her, even if it ended up winning more points it was still crazy.
Light seemed to have my same thoughts while Sudo and Horikita looked at her like she was crazy. Well I can't disagree with them on that.
"B-but still ass-" one of them was about to say when I stood in front of him and looked at him with my cold eyes. He stopped and shut up with the other two.
"Not anymore. Pass the points to her, or she'll publish the audio along with the evidence from the cameras we'll ask for," I told him, not letting them stay with us and wasting more time than we've already wasted here.
They grunted and cried a lot until they surrendered all their points, and Jabami deleted the audio in front of them when they did. She basically bankrupted them.
Coupled with their points plus winnings, she now has 453,500 points. All of this basically on the first day of class...
I was really right when I thought she was going to bankrupt people here. Scary. Under no circumstances will I bet anything against her. And I'm sure Light has the same thinking as me.
"You...what was...the trick?" Horikita still speaks perplexed about what happened. Light and Sudo come to us. Well I'm also quite curious for the tactic she used.
It sure must have been something ingenious.
"I'd also like to know" Light spoke in a surprised tone to her. She then looked at us and tilted her head before speaking.
"Trick...? What trick?" She asked frankly.
"..."
"..."
What? What do you mean what trick? Of course it was the trick you used woman!
I can see Horikita also perplexed by what she said along with Light and me. Sudo still looks confused. Seriously, he doesn't have a brain?
"Haha, of course we're talking about the trick you used to get the four kings from the Jabami deck" Light said laughing as if she had made a joke.
"But... there's no trick. I got lucky." She spoke even more confused by Light's statement.
"..."
"..."
What? She is kidding right? But not fucking that could have been luck!
"Y-Are you serious Jabami?" Light asked her even more perplexed. Horikita looked at her the same way.
"Yes, I said didn't I? The game was fair!" She squealed happily.
"Wait, that doesn't feel at all," I say for the first time in a while. She looks at me like she's telling me to continue.
"Have you seriously risked all your points in a game based on luck? You could have taken their points without having to go through it. So what's the point of the game anyway?" I asked honestly. I could see that Horikita and Light had this doubt too.
"What would be the fun if I just took their points without something fun?" She spoke as if it sounded obvious.
"Fun? How so?" It was Light who asked this. Jabami looked at him.
"Where's the fun taking their points when I can make a bet to do that? Especially when they couldn't refuse."
"But that could have made you lose all your points if that's the case..." Horikita spoke weakly to her. Jabami looks at her with the same expression as before when he was playing. I see Horikita and Sudo pull away a little.
"But... that's where the fun is! The excitement where I can lose all my points in one game! It's amazing!" Huh?
"Huh?" Light blurted out.
This girl... she made a bet where she could lose all her points with the advantage at all times to her enemies only...
For the excitement of losing to them?
What the hell? Is she serious? I could see that Light and Horikita also had looks that would look like they were going to pop out of their sockets.
This woman... is just... insane .
She kept laughing until she stopped and turned to talk to us.
"I have to go to my dorm now, I'll see you tomorrow, Light, Ayanokouji" she waved at us and ran. We just waved at her in complete shock.
"Your class... have more people like her?" Horikita spoke weakly.
"Don't ask me that." I replied without hesitation. She just looked at me before sighing.
"I'm leaving. I have a lot to think about right now." She said as she left. Plenty of stuff. Probably what you heard from those 2-C students. After a while Sudo and I said our goodbyes. He also said goodbye to Light although it was a bit forced. Light and I started walking.
"Hey Light," I get his attention.
"Yes?"
"Don't you think all the girls in our class apart from Shiro so far have turned out to be scary in their own ways?" I ask curiously. He seems to think for a moment before answering.
"Yes, I agree with you on that." He agreed with me.
"I know it's probably impossible but... do you think Shiro has a scary side like that too?" I ask him. He looks at me with a little shock on his face before returning to normal and talking to me.
"I think it's completely impossible for someone as cute as her to have a side like that...don't tell Sora I said that," he quickly adds. I nodded my head. As we were walking we noticed two very beautiful women coming in the opposite direction.
One of them had bright blood red hair long enough with blue eyes, with boobs, which if you may allow me to ask if they're really real, why don't I think so. The second woman had long black hair with violet eyes. And their breasts too... what the hell is going on here?
I take a look at Light and also realize that even if it looks like he doesn't want to, there's no way he can't not look at it. It's just unreal.
"Ara ara, are you our kouhais here?" the black-haired woman asks. Light and I look at each other and shrug.
"Yes ladies, I'm Light Yagami and this one next to me is Ayanokouji Kiyotaka, it's a pleasure to meet you" he says with his typical smile that would make any normal woman fall in love immediately. I nod my head when he introduces me.
"It's nice to meet you, I'm Rias Gremory, and next to me is Akeno Himejima. We're 2-A" she says with a big smile.
Rias Gremory and Akeno Himejima huh. Those are a little weird names if you ask me.
"It's a pleasure. I'm sure my friend here would like to talk more with you as well as me, but we need to go somewhere to meet our classmates." Light speaks with a smile.
"Ara ara, are you leaving? This is sad. Well what gang are you guys from?" She asks. That was the question we wanted to avoid at all costs.
"What gang do you think we are?" I ask quickly as Light looks at me.
"Well, if I had to guess from the way you guys walk and talk. I'd say the most suitable class would be Class A" Rias replies with a hand on his chin.
She's pretty perspective huh? I look at Light out of the corner of my eye and he seems to think so too.
"Well you're right Rias. Now if we'll excuse you we need to go." I speak quickly. And Light seemed to understand what I said and so we ran for a bit.
"How long before they notice?" Light asked.
"I do not know." We ask which class she thinks we are suitable. She said it was Class A. And I agree with her, that's why I said her assessment was correct. But we didn't confirm the gang.
"They're pretty cute," I muttered, which Light heard and flashed me a smile I know.
"Oh, why not ask one of them out then?" he asks me with a smile. I just sigh at it.
We started walking.
First Jabami Yumeko, who I finally gained a little bit of appreciation for from what she showed today. What do I conclude with this? I must under no circumstances bet anything against her. And now these two women have appeared. Rias Gremory and Akeno Himejima.
It seems this school is more interesting than I initially thought.
