Author's note: Hello everyone this is my first fanfic so I hope you like it. Also this series is inspired by crashguy01 the creator of the smash life story updated every Friday. Recommend you read it. It's a good story. This will also be a documentary. And if you want to share an idea of what I should do for future episodes feel free to let me know. This will include all characters so far revealed for Smash Bros. Ultimate. Along with a few extra characters of my choice. This episode takes place two weeks after the August direct. I do not own any characters, they all belong to Nintendo, Capcom, Bandai Namco, etc. There are head segments in bold this idea came from the story that inspired this. Along with a few other things. I'm not trying to copy ideas, I'm just showing that I'm a huge fan of crashguy01's work.
Season 1 episode 1: The Arrival
(August 22nd, 2018)
Ever since the smash direct at the beginning of the month three more fighters had joined the other residents at the mansion. Two of them being Simon and Richter Belmont, a pair of monster hunters from two different points in time. The third one is Dark Samus who Samus, much like Ridley, will be wary of at the mansion(1). Two new fighters that had been revealed were approaching the mansion for the first time too. One was Chrom, a prince from a kingdom known as Yillise, who is also Lucina's father. The other was King K. Rool, an old time arch enemy of Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong.
Chrom (Exalted Prince(2)): Personally, I'm glad to finally be here. I'm sure Robin and Lucina will be thrilled to have me here. I am also thrilled to be a part of the upcoming tournament.
King K. Rool (The Kremling Leader): Same here Chrome.
Chrom: *annoyed* First off, it is Chrom. Like the last five times I told you! And secondly, really? You struck me as someone that didn't want to be here.
King K. Rool: Well you're wrong, because now that I'm here I can finally crush those two Kongs. *maniacal laugh*
Chrom: *slightly worried look at the camera*
Eventually the three walked past the driveway, Kapp'n's bus and up a pathway to the porch. Once on the porch and over to the front doors Chrom held out his hand to knock on it. Only for King K. Rool to push the prince out of the way entirely and proceeded to punch the doors off its hinges. "WE'RE HEEEEEEEERE," King K. Rool screamed for all the mansion to hear.
Chrom got himself up and looked into the foyer to see no one was there. "For two new fighters arriving I would've thought there'd be something," Chrom remarked as he and King K. Rool walked in.
"This is not how a new place greets a king," King K. Rool said, crossing his arms in anger. Though in truth, he didn't really have the status of a king while on Smash Island. They two then watched as one of the now fallen doors moved and was pushed over, revealing a familiar blue penguin in a red robe.
Chrom, recognizing the individual due to his visit last tournament, ran over to him saying, "Dedede! Are you okay?"
"Chrom, actually nice to see you again," King Dedede said as Chrom helped him up. "Don't you worry none, that actually happened to me before." Once King Dedede dusted himself off he faced King K. Rool with a hard glare.
King Dedede (King of Dream Land): Ridley also knocked the doors down back in June, those doors hit me then too. Master Hand told me to greet Chrom and King K. Rool when they arrived today. I was a bit nervous of Rool coming here at first due to what happened to me in the trailer. But then, I realized that this was the perfect chance for me to intimidate him so he won't mess with me. *Leans back on the couch, putting his hands behind his head* After all, I'm the greatest villain there is.
Meta Knight (Masked Warrior): *walking by* Said no one ever.
Keeping up the hard glare, King Dedede walked over to King K. Rool saying, "Listen here, new guy. Just because of what you did in your trailer does not mean you can freely do it here There are rules, so you better not mess with me. Capiche!"
The miracle in itself was the fact that King K. Rool was actually intimidated. He might've peed himself too, but he wasn't that intimidated. The kremling king put his hands up in a mock surrender replying, "Don't worry triple D I'm not going to harm a fellow villain. I am actually looking for two people myself."
"Donkey Kong and Diddly Kong," King Dedede asked, calming down. He also somehow knew what Rool was talking about. "They're in the game room, if you want I can show you… where… it… is…." The reason the king of Dream Land had trailed off was because King K. Rool took off, running to wherever the game room was.
"And he's gone. To be honest, I didn't really like him anyway," Chrom said. He then turned to King Dedede asking, "Did Master Hand want you to give me a tour of the mansion?"
"I would say you wouldn't need one but yes he did. Fact is the building has expanded a bit since the last tournament so we'll need to show you where everything is now located," King Dedede explained. Chrom would forever question why did Master Hand have Dedede give the tour instead of Mario. "May as well get started."
"Honestly, I was hoping to find Robin and Lucina," Chrom said as the two began to walk away from the foyer.
"I can promise you we'll at least run into them at least once during the tour. You'll most likely see them at dinner," King Dedede said as they began walking down the hall. Towards the first room of the tour.
Meanwhile, in the theater room were a few more residents of the mansion. These residents were assigned with deciding which movie the mansion would watch as a whole. Only reason there's a movie night is because Isabelle wrote it into the schedule. One of the residents helping out was Richter, a monster hunter from the past. Right now, he was toying with the projector screen and remote in his own fascination.
"The fact that this remote can control this screen is incredible," Richter said as he continuously hit the button to drop and retract the projector screen. Just when it seemed like it was about to fall off a waddle dee with a bandana jumped up and snatched the remote. "Hey! I was using that."
"Richter there is a difference between using it and breaking it," said a certain wooden puppet as he walked over. "This is expensive stuff right here. Master Hand will not be happy if we break it, I can tell you that." The puppet was none other than Geno, an old time friend of Mario(3).
"Sorry Geno," Richter said sheepishly. The monster hunter then gestured to the projector saying, "I just can't get over the fact that this mansion has all this fancy tech." Bandana Waddle Dee gave Richter a comforting pat on the… erm, leg while Decidueye put the remote back on the shelf.
"I'm not faulting your excitement. I'm sure anyone from the Fire Emblem worlds felt exactly the same," Geno stated.
Richter (The descendant): I must say the future truly is amazing. I just wish Simon, my ancestor apparently, would feel the same way. However he's been mistaking a ton of the residents for monsters, most notable being Bowser, Meta Knight, the pokemon, and some green dinosaur.
Geno (The Mario Character not Owned by Nintendo): I'm glas Richter is enjoying his time here, I really am. But he needs to control himself. Just last week he broke the dishwasher, and it took Palutena a couple days to find and replace it.
"Now that I think about it, how many residents here are from like the past or something like that," Richter asked as Geno continued to search the shelves for movies.
"Like I said, anyone from the Fire Emblem worlds, or just anyone that doesn't really have this kind of technology in their world," Geno answered.
At this point King K. Rool poked his head in through the door and looked around the room. Once he realized this was not the game room he asked, "Does anyone know how to get to the game room from here?"
Sighing, Geno walked over to the door and pointed down the hall. "Down the hall, up the stairs or elevator to the third floor, make a right, and it should be the big door on the right."
"Thanks wooden puppet," King K. Rool said before dashing down the hall once again.
Geno turned around and noticed the questioning look from Decidueye. "What? Something wrong, he was lost," Geno asked the archer pokemon.
"(Wasn't he supposed to be given a tour by King Dedede,)" Decidueye said. Most residents can't understand the pokemon but Geno was an exception(4). Geno just shrugged before he began searching for a suitable movie again.
Geno: I don't really care for why King K. Rool needed to know where the game room is. I'm just focusing on finding a movie everyone in the mansion would be fine with watching tonight.
Chrom's official grand tour of the mansion would take him and King Dedede to the kitchen. In there was Palutena, the goddess of Light in her world. She was currently making dinner for the residents of the mansion. Others in the kitchen were Mario, who was in the pantry, and Link. The champion was currency watching videos on his sheikah slate and wasn't really paying attention to anything.
"The is kitchen is a bit bigger than I last saw it," Chrom remarked as he and King Dedede walked into the kitchen. "How many people even live here now anyway," Chrom asked Dedede.
"With you and Rool being here now that number is close to eighty, there are some non-fighters living here that Master Hand decided to invite to live here," Dedede said as he looked around to see what was for dinner tonight.
While Chrom was looking around he noticed Link just leaning against the wall next to the window partition into the dining room. "Hello Link," Chrom said giving a small wave. Link did the same but he didn't really look up from the slate. The young exalt then noticed the goddess of light, Palutena at the stove and walked over. "Lady Palutena, it is an honor to see you again," Chrom said, kneeling down.
Palutena turned around and saw Chrom kneeling. She then gave a short giggle saying, "And I remember telling you last time you did not have to address me so formally here." Chrom then quickly stood back up after being told that. "Both Lucina and Robin have been happy to know you were finally coming as a fighter."
"As you probably already know Chrom, Palutena is our main cook for the mansion. Sometimes replaced by the Mario brothers if necessary," King Dedede said. He then noticed exactly what was boiling in a pot on the stove. The king of Dream Land crossed his arms asking, "And if I remember correctly wasn't spaghetti and meatballs their specialty?"
"I'm not replacing them mind you. Mario just asked for help this time since Luigi was busy getting Chrom and King K. Rool's room set up," Palutena replied. The three then heard the door to the pantry opening up and a certain red plumber stepping out of it. "There he is now."
The iconic plumber with overalls and sentient red cap was currently carrying a couple boxes of meatballs over to the counter. "Palutena, get-a these meatballs in-a the oven we only have one… hour," Mario said, eventually trailing off as he noticed Chrom in the room with Dedede pointing at him. Mario quickly got the boxes onto the counter before walking over. "Chrom, nice to-a see you again. And as-a fighter this-a time too, congrats." The red plumber shook Chrom's hand.
"Nice to see you again too Mario. Sorry it took me a while to get here. I had to find someone to handle duties in Ylisse while I was gone. Hopefully Sumia will be fine," Chrom said. It was hard indeed since Robin wasn't around to help him decide what would be the best option.
"As-a long that Frederick fellow is-a there I'm sure he can-a help keep an eye out," Mario replied.
"Anyway as I was saying, you'll find that Palutena's cooking has improved a bit since the last time you were here. Not sure if that's saying much though," Dedede said, he then received a very cold glare from the goddess of light. "Either way, I just love to gobble all that food up." Mario rolled his eyes at Dedede's words.
Palutena (Goddess of Light): He pretty much just described what he does every day at every meal. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It takes people like Wario and Kirby to beat him to the food, or Corrin and Ganondorf to restrain him so the others can get their share.
Ganondorf (The Great King of Evil): I may be a villain, but that doesn't mean I'm a monster. I don't do evil deeds if there's nothing to gain from them. I try to set that example for the other villains here too, but it usually goes in one ear and out the other.
"Well I'm-a positive you will enjoy the meal here Chrom," Mario said. The red plumber then went back to the meatballs saying, "You can continue your tour now. Help me with the meatballs Cappy."
"You got it," Cappy said as he flew off Mario's head.
Chrom looked at the floating cap in shock and held his finger out towards it, speechless. "Yeah, he's been with Mario since last year, come on," King Dedede said as he grabbed Chrom by his shirt and dragged him out of the room.
It was at this point Link finally decided to look up from the slate before asking, "Did I miss something?" Mario and Palutena didn't pay him enough mind to answer his question and it was left unanswered.
In the game room there were a lot of activities available for the residents. Going from arcade machines to multiple consoles set up on one TV. The consoles on it ranged from the N64 to the Switch. A good portion of resident were in the room right now including, Pikachu, Fox, Falco, Ness, Lucas, Kirby, Pit, Dark Pit, Red the pokemon trainer, Popo and Nana, Wolf, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Shovel Knight, and Zero. Also in the room was Lucina and Robin, both waiting for Chrom to eventually show up. If Dedede's tour ever takes them to the game room that is.
Lucina was looking at the phones given to her when she entered the mansion saying, "It's said that father has arrived by now, but I don't see him yet."
Robin, who was with her then said, "Well don't forget he's currently being given that mandatory tour by Dedede. We may not see him until dinner."
"I just hope he's okay," Lucina said. The future witness and chief tactician then watched as King K. Rool came into the room, out of breath. "Who is that?"
"Finally, after five wrong turns I made it," King K. Rool weakly said. Wonder how he made five wrong turns?
King K. Rool: As embarrassing as it is, I have a semi bad sense of direction. It's that wooden puppet's fault, he should've just brought me here instead of giving me half-minded directions. I'm gonna squash him if I see him again.
Rool was scanning the room until his eyes fell upon the two he had been looking for for nearly an hour. He then pounded his foot on the floor and got the attention of pretty much everyone in the room. "Donkey Kong! Diddy Kong! I've been looking for you two," Rool said menacingly.
Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong both turned to face King K. Rool, both giving him glares. 'Well," DK began to say, "look who finally got into smash after about three games of being turned down." More residents were stopping their games to see the growing rivalry in the room.
"That doesn't matter, not anymore," Rool said, changing the topic quick. "What does matter is that I can finally challenge you two to a 2v1. A battle to show who's really boss around here."
"After all the times we already defeated you," Diddy Kong questioned with an eye roll.
Donkey Kong was more focused on what Rool had said. "We accept the challenge. We can fight after dinner, which is soon. I'll admit you have some new tricks up your sleeve that I would like to put up to the test." Diddy Kong looked at his uncle in great shock. He wasn't actually expecting for the kremling leader's demands to go through.
"Then, I'll be seeing you two after dinner," Rool said. He then laughed maniacally as he walked out.
Falco (The Wingman): Dude, there's going to be a battle. Think we can get jobs as commentators for it.
Fox (Leader of Starfox): I don't know buddy. Probably have to pull a couple strings for that.
Shovel Knight (Shovels...man) Personally, thou is a bit concerned for thy battle, but it could still be a joyous fight.
"Are you sure about this guys," Zero asked, walking over to DK and Diddy Kong. "We all saw the attacks Rool could do in the trailer. He might just beat you."
"I'm sure we'll be fine Zero, after all it's Rool. What could happen," Donkey Kong said, struggling off the concern. He may end up regretting that.
Geno and his group were still in the theater room looking for the movie that the mansion would watch. The wooden puppet eventually decided that enough was enough and had split the movies into three piles. One that was too violent for the younger fighters, one that was a bit too childish for the older fighters. And ones that were just right.
"(Okay everything is in separate piles, now what,)" Decidueye asked Geno. The bird acher pokemon scanned all three piles, they apparently had a lot of movies.
"I guess I just make an executive decision," Geno said as he looked through the movie that were just right. He then grabbed one out from the pile and turned around to face the others. "If you're okay with this movie, raise your hand," Geno asked. All four raised their hands. "Okay good then let's get to the dining room. I imagine dinner would be out by now."
"And last but not least the dining room," King Dedede said as he led Chrom into said room. "Looks like everyone's having dinner. Oh look there's Robin and Lucina." The king of dream land pushed Chrom towards their direction before walking away. "Have fun."
Chrom: Dedede as a tour guide… was actually pretty good. He knew his way around the mansion well, and gave decent descriptions. He even introduced me to some of the fighters I didn't meet yet. And I learned I'm echoing Roy.
"Father," Lucina said. She then ran over and hugged Chrom, "It's so good to see you again.
"Likewise, Lucina," Chrom said. The young exalt then walked over to Robin and shared a handshake with Robin. "Good to see you too Robin."
"Good to see you Chrom," Robin said as Chrom and Lucina sat down. The chief tactician then forked soem spaghetti and rolled it up.
Chrom looked at the food in confusion before asking, "Is this the spaghetti and meatballs Dedede talked about when he took me to the kitchen?"
"I would hope so," Lucina said with sligh concern for Dedede's memory. "Try it father, it's actually pretty good."
Chrom did so and shared an approving nod. "I'll definitely take your word for it. I'll have to thank the cooks behind this later."
In another part of the dining room was Richter and his ancestor Simon, the latter staring at a certain green dinosaur from across the way. "I'm telling you Richter, there's something about him that makes him a monster," Simon said to his descendant, gesturing over to Yoshi at another table. "Is it the hump, the huge nose, or the fact that Mario rides him. Does that make Mario a monster too?"
"I really wouldn't worry about it Simon," Richter nervously said as he continued to eat his dinner. "You have some of this yet, it's pretty good."
Simon (The ancestor): I am dead serious about the fact that Yoshi is a monster of some kind. Just look at him!
Yoshi (The green dinosaur): *Gobbling food with his hands*
Simon: Despicable...
Right now though, the event in the dining room that was dragging the most attention were glares King K. Rool and Donkey Kong were sending back at each other. There was to be a battle after dinner and only one would come out on top.
Most of the residents were now in the mansion's entrance to the stadium, which was behind the mansion. The ones that did not come most likely had better things to do this night.
Falco: Fox and I were not able to secure jobs as commentators. Marth said it wasn't going to be necessary since it wasn't an official match. Still stinks though.
"Okay so this match is going to be one stock only and for about three minutes. Only the smash ball will be turned on," Marth said. He was in the booth where Master Hand would be, putting in inputs for the simulator. Eventually the door to the room would open and the hero king would turn around to see King K. Rool behind him. "King K. Rool? You should be in the lower levels, why are you here?"
"Why I'm here is very simple actually," King K. Rool said. The kremling leader then proceeded to grab Marth by the tunic. "I need you to turn off the damage protectors on the simulator."
Marth did not like where this went at all and was trying to reason. "But, if I turn off the damage protectors, you or Donkey and Diddy-"
"Why do you think I called this battle into order." King K. Rool then proceeded to toss Marth away and somehow did the work himself. He hit enter on the ruleset so it couldn't get changed back. Without the damaged protectors someone could actually die in a fight. "There, now was that so hard. Enjoy the fight," King K. Rool said as he left the booth.
Marth quickly got on his feet and hit the intercom button. "Master Hand, we have a problem," said the hero-king.
Link was currently in the many stands throughout the stadium with Zelda(5) and his toon counterpart. "Hopefully no one is going to get hurt from this," Link told Zelda as he watched Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong walk out.
"I'm told the simulator works so that no one actually gets hurt since a lot of us have weapons that can easily kill anyone," Zelda said. Both she and Link were from different worlds than the last ones. "Mario may want to change in his doctor clothes though just to be safe."
Everyone watched as King K. Rool finally made it onto the stage. The simulation, without the damage protectors, then activated and the stage was transformed into kongo falls.
King K. Rool Vs. Donkey Kong & Diddy Kong
Music: Gang-Plank Galleon (Ultimate Remix)
The Match started with Diddy firing peanuts at King K. Rool, who easily dodged them and proceeded to fire a cannonball at DK's face. Donkey Kong dodged away from the cannonball but then got sucked up and fired at Diddy.
Diddy was able to monkey flip at Rool and hit in the face and did a side smash on him sending him back a bit. King K. Rool then threw his crown boomerang. DK saw his chance and did an aerial down smash on King K. Rool's head. The ape jumped back and started to charge up his giant punch. While he was doing that Diddy was attacking King K. Rool. Then the kremling leader did a side smash and punched the spidermonkey far back. Diddy was able to rocketbarrel. DK went at King K. Rool with the giant punch when the unexpected happened, and King K. Rool countered the punch and sent DK flying.
As the match continued more and more residents began to notice multiple cuts and bruises showing up on the three. This caused worry that something went wrong with the simulator, the ones fighting were too focused to even notice. This went on for a couple of minutes and the residents in the stand weren't really cheering for either King K. Rool or the Kongs, they were just worried. Time was running short, all three were weak and the smash ball had entered. DK nearly got it, but then King K. Rool jumped on his head and grabbed the ball and unleashed his final smash. He caught both Kongs in it.
Just before the laser could hit them Master Hand came out of nowhere and used his power to cancel the attack. Everyone was shocked.
(end music here)
Master Hand floated down to the stage as King K. Rool was left in shock of what had just happened. "Marth, turn off the simulator," Master Hand said, everyone that's been around Master Hand long enough could tell he was mad.
Marth quickly poked his head out of the booth saying, "But Master Hand if I turn it off now-"
"I SAID TURN OFF THE SIMULATOR," the disembodied hand shouted in fury. Marth then did so and the stage reverted back to the normal stage in an instant. An electrical pop could be heard from the booth, it would have to be fixed later. "Now Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, King K. Rool. Why are you doing this? Answer!"
"He's the one that challenged us to a fight in the first place," Diddy Kong said pointing right at the kremling leader. Mario could now be seen running onto the stage in his doctor uniform.
Mario (Mr. Nintendo): Rarely do-a I have to pull-a out this uniform. But-a when I do, that's-a when you know things are-a bad. Where's Cappy? Well-a he doesn't have this-a kind of-a form, so he's just floating around-a somewhere right-a now.
Master Hand then turned to face King K. Rool. "Is this true Rool," Master Hand asked the kremling leader, still very, very mad.
This was King K. Rool's very first time seeing Master Hand, it would make sense that he was completely frozen in fear. Trying his best to form a coherent thought, the kremling leader said, "I just wanted to prove that I have the strength to be here like a lot of people don't think I do."
Even Master Hand knew that this was a flat out lie. Knowing how to handle this sort of situation he asked, "Okay, has anyone ever told you about the number 1 rule of this mansion?"
"There was a rulebook?"
"We really need to get those handed out," Isabelle muttered from her seat.
"Yes, we have a rulebook," Master Hand said. "Mansion rule #1: If one harms another be it rival, or through petty revenge, that resident will be banned. Temporarily if you're a fighter but you get the gist."
King K. Rool's eyes went wide at this one. If he actually succeeded his one-time opportunity of living at the mansion for a good portion of time would be thrown out the window. "So you saying I would've been banned temporarily!"
"Yes, since your new here and didn't know I'll let it slide this time. But, I like to try my best to make sure everyone here gets along. So shake hands you three," Master Hand said. The three then, with much reluctance, shook hands. "Good. Mario get them all to the infirmary for the time being. Due to events we will unfortunately have to cancel the movie night very sorry." Master Hand then teleported away as some residents showed some disappointment with the cancellation.
Geno: It took us three hours to find a movie and the whole thing got cancelled in the end. Do these kinds of things happen all the time Luigi?
Luigi (The older brother): Well, not-a all the time, but-a we do get into some-a interesting situations. All it-a takes is some getting used too.
Geno: Well, at least I'm not the only one. Anyone that actually watches this is going to have to get used to it too.
(1) Samus and Zero Suit Samus are one person in this story. And Samus will stay in her zero suit unless said otherwise.
(2) These are titles to go along with each resident in the head segments. Each title will only come up once though per episode. If you want to see all current residents titles you can view them on my profile. Any temporary residents that get added will not have these unless they are a permanent resident in a later episode of this series.
(3) There are some extra residents that I threw in to start this off. They aren't official fighters in any way, they were just invited to live in the mansion. The base invite residents are Geno, Bandana Waddle Dee, Decidueye, Shovel Knight, Zero, Impa, Isabelle, Tails, and Shadow. More will be added as time goes on.
(4) Any lines from Pokemon are translated by either Mewtwo or Lucario.
(5) Zelda and Sheik are one in this story and will remain as Zelda alone unless said otherwise.
