Happy Amourshipping Day everyone! Glad I managed to get this done just in time. Kind of a race against the clock towards the end there. Don't really have a lot to say this time. I don't own Pokemon or the characters. If I did, I 'd be rich. :)

Good afternoon passengers. This is the pre-boarding announcement for flight 140 from Lumiose City to Jubilife City. We are now inviting those passengers with small children, and any passengers requiring special assistance, to begin boarding at this time. Please have your boarding pass and identification ready. Regular boarding will begin in approximately ten minutes time. Thank you!

The airport employee put her intercom down with a smile and went back to tapping and clicking on her tablet in front of her. Gradually a line began to form in front of the attendant, people eager to begin boarding onto their flight. It was the beginning of the holiday season, and excitement was written on everyone's faces as they patiently waited for the next call for boarding to come.

Serena Yvonne adjusted the heavy backpack on her shoulders and straightened out her suitcase. Glancing over to the large set of windows nearby, she could see a light snow beginning to fall. It was getting colder with every day, and as much as she loved her home region of Kalos, she was thankful that she was getting away for a bit to visit some of her friends. She had caught the travel bug a few years back when she first started out her journey, no doubt influenced by a very special person in her life.

She didn't necessarily like flying, but she recognized that it was the fastest way to get from point A to point B. The end of the flight was always her favorite part, as that meant she could get off the plane.

She felt her phone vibrate in her pocket and let go of her suitcase to grab it. Sitting down in one of the chairs lined up in front of the boarding area for the plane, Serena pressed the button on her phone to let her see the notification.

You board the plane yet?

Serena smiled and quickly typed out a reply.

In a few minutes I will be! I'm excited to see Sinnoh!

Serena put her phone back in her pocket and looked around. People were lining up to get ready to board the plane, and she figured that she might as well join the line before it got too long. The flight to Sinnoh thankfully wasn't supposed to take too long, but it wasn't like a walk in the park. It still would take quite a while.

She was going to visit her friend Dawn over in Sinnoh for the holidays. She had met Dawn through May when she was in Hoenn participating in contests, and she bonded with the two of them very quickly. Turns out, they all had the common bond of traveling with Ash Ketchum through their region on his quest to become a Pokémon master.

When the topic of Ash came up, Serena was very careful to hide her true feelings towards him from Dawn and May, lest they teased her relentlessly for it. All her friends knew was that she traveled with him throughout his time in Kalos, and they were close friends. That's all they needed to know, for the time being, at least.

That all was a moot point though. In reality, it had been two years since Serena had even spoken to Ash, let alone seen him. She had spent those two years working on herself, just as she promised, and felt like she was making good progress. She had a relatively successful run as a coordinator in Hoenn, losing to May right at the very end, and was practicing for the next performing season back in Kalos. This time, she would beat Aria and become Kalos Queen. Nothing was going to stop her.

Good afternoon passengers! Regular boarding has begun. You may now board for flight 140 from Lumiose City to Jubilife City!

Serena quickly whipped out her phone and typed a quick text to her friend.

Boarding now! I'll be there soon!

Putting her phone away, Serena adjusted her backpack and luggage and waited patiently for the line to move forward. Doing one final check to make sure she had her identification ready; she took another step forward as the line began to move.

After a bit of time, Serena was at the front of the line and showed the airport attendant her ID card and ticket. The woman nodded, stamped the ticket, and handed it back to Serena with a smile.

"Thank you!" Serena said as she raced down to the plane to get to her seat.

It was a little chilly in the tunnel to the plane, but Serena was not deterred. She fast-walked down and arrived at the plane in no time at all. Ducking her head slightly to get into the door and flashing a smile in greeting to the pilots and flight attendants, Serena waddled her way through the rows of seats, looking for her own.

Glancing down at her ticket, she read the number printed neatly on the front of the paper.

Seat 15B

The plane only had two seats per side, and since she had seat "B", that meant she was sitting on the aisle side. That worked for her. That meant she didn't have to ask to get up when she needed to use the bathroom.

Another few rows down the line, and Serena was in front of her seat. Her seat-neighbor was an elderly man, and they acknowledged each other with a nod of their head and a hearty greeting. Serena threw her small suitcase overtop of their heads and closed the carry-on shelf with a click. Then she sat down and put her backpack between her legs on the floor.

"Hope you're ready for a good flight." The old man leaned over and said with a chuckle. "I plan on sleeping the entire time."

Serena smiled at him. "I am ready, although I'm looking forward more to the destination than the flight!"

"Aren't we all." The man said, before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a sleep mask. "See you in Sinnoh." He said as he put the mask on and leaned back.

Serena briefly wondered why he was deciding to sleep so early when they hadn't even taken off yet. But she also realized that he was old, and probably was fine with sleeping extra on the flight.

Minutes passed and people boarded the flight. Slowly the plane filled, and Serena occupied herself by thinking of all the fun things she was going to do with Dawn and May over in Sinnoh. To say she was excited was an understatement. She had never been to Sinnoh before and missed her friends. Her hopes were high for what this trip was going to be.

The line of people looking for their seats gradually slowed down and the flight attendants looked to be gearing up for take-off. Serena took out her earbuds and was ready to start playing music in order to pass the time on the flight. She put one earbud in and was right about to put the other one in when she heard a voice that made her freeze.

"Wait! We're coming!"

She knew that voice. She knew that voice well. She knew that voice so well actually, that her cheeks turned pink at the memory of the last time she had heard its soothing tone. At the very airport she was departing from two years prior, at an escalator.

Her breath hitched in her throat as she waited for the owner of the voice to appear in the doorway and confirm what she had heard. Her heart began to beat out of her chest at the thought of seeing him again, both in a good way and a bad way. Of course she wanted to see him! She had missed him dearly, and was forced to admit to herself that she still liked him over and over again. But then again…her departure from him left her feeling very…nervous…at the prospect of seeing him again.

Her departing kiss was the crowning achievement of the confidence she had gained since starting her journey with Ash all that time ago. She never could have even come close to doing something so brave back when she first started her journey! Despite how proud of herself she was for finally kissing her crush and revealing to him how she felt, there was still bits of anxiety associated with it too.

She never did find out exactly what he thought of the kiss. Sure, he didn't back away when she kissed him, and he even smiled afterward. But he didn't make some grand confession of love for her afterward, nor had they even spoken since the event. That had left many questions for Serena's anxious mind over the few years it had been since she saw him. Questions that she had no answers to, nor the ability to get answers to.

Or so she thought.

Because Ash Ketchum himself, in all his handsome glory, barreled into the plane, breathing heavily from a likely run to not be left behind.

He was wearing different clothes than when Serena had last seen him, which made sense. They had both grown in the two years it had been since they walked Kalos together. He wore a blue vest over a white t-shirt with a red stripe through the middle, and oddly, shorts, despite the snow. Serena never would have thought that the look he was wearing would have "fit" him, compared to what he wore when they traveled through Kalos, but she had to admit, it did.

Serena herself was wearing a tan sweater, black pants, and had traded out her pink fedora for a green beret. She was prepared for colder weather, unlike Ash, it seemed.

Ever faithful Pikachu was holding on for dear life to Ash's shoulder, and wiped a bead of sweat off his forehead.

He was accompanied by another male, it seemed, who looked more prepared for the winter than his companion. He had black hair, like Ash, and tan skin. He was wearing a dark grey sweatshirt and black pants, and apologized quickly to the flight attendant for their tardiness.

Without a moment of hesitation, the two boys began looking for their seats by coming down the aisle. Ash's bright eyes began scanning the seat numbers, unaware that Serena's heart was about to explode from anxiety. Torn between wanting to hug him and tell him how much she missed him, and hiding away forever, Serena realized that she had to make a decision, and fast.

Just as Ash was about to look at her and her seat number, Serena threw herself down and pretended like she was getting something out of her backpack. She waited nervously, deciding that if she was going to hug him, she wanted it to be in a better place than on a plane, and silently begged him to walk a little faster.

"Seat 14, 15, 16, and 17! Goh, I found our seats!" Ash said loudly as Serena heard him plop himself down two rows back from her.

Two rows back…

"Let's sit quickly then so we can get a move on!" His companion, Goh, said, and he took his seat too.

Serena wiped a bead of sweat off her brow and attempted to calm her breathing.

"He almost saw me…" She whispered to herself, willing her heart to slow down.

It had been a long time since she had felt this way about him. The thought crossed her mind that she likely wouldn't be so nervous if it wasn't for the fact that they hadn't spoken in two years, and the last time they saw each other, she kissed him!

The flight attendant began speak then, going over basic flight rules and procedures, but Serena wasn't listening at all. She had flown before and knew what to do in case the plane began to crash. She was more occupied with her crush sitting two seats back, and what that meant for her.

This was her chance to reconnect with him. Her chance to find out what he thought of her kiss. At the very least though, it was the chance to see an old friend. Whether he liked her back or not, she still was interested in being friends with him. Sure, she would be more than a little disappointed if he didn't feel the same way, but she had already established in her mind that Ash Ketchum was someone she was interested in being friends with at the very least.

The flight attendant finished her speech, and within a few minutes, the plane started to take-off. The sudden ascendance into the sky upset Serena's already anxious stomach, but she attempted to not think about it too much. The last thing she wanted to do was throw up with Ash two rows behind her.

As the plane was steadily rising now, Serena leaned her head back in her seat and attempted to close her eyes for a moment. She realized that she had almost forgotten to take the other earbud out of her ear, and reached up to do that. She removed the earbud, but heard someone talking a few rows behind her, and pressed her head as far into the seat as it would go in order to hear better.

Ash was always a loud talker, and at this point in time, that was to Serena's advantage, as she strained to hear what he was saying to his friend.

"I had a lot of fun in Kalos, Goh. It was good to be back." He said.

Serena had to listen harder to hear what Ash's companion was saying. He spoke a bit quieter, but it wasn't inaudible, thankfully. "It was really fun, and I caught plenty of new Pokémon!"

"Yeah, you did! You're that much closer to your goal now, Goh!"

Serena briefly wondered what Goh's goal was and what catching Pokémon had to do with it, but didn't have time think about it too much, as their conversation continued.

"You know, you only talked about Kalos a little bit before we got there." Goh said. "It was such an awesome region! How come you don't talk about it more?"

Now this was something Serena was interested in hearing. She turned her head so that her ear was facing them in hopes of listening in better. She felt a little guilty about eavesdropping on their conversation, but the prospect of answering two years' worth of questions was too much to ignore.

Ash waited a moment to respond. "I guess it just never came up!" He said. Serena could picture him embarrassingly rubbing his nape. He was very predictable.

"Why didn't we meet any of your friends when we were in Kalos? We met Dawn and Iris before, so what about your Kalosian friends?"

"Well, I already checked with Bonnie and Clemont, and they were busy. And I didn't have a way to contact Serena."

That was right. Serena didn't have a phone when she was traveling through Kalos, and had no way of getting her phone number to Ash when she did get one.

"Serena? You've never mentioned her before." Goh said. Serena was unable to stop herself from getting disappointed when she heard that. "How come you've never talked about her?"

"No reason!"

"Hey!" Goh said, a little louder. "What was that?"

"What?"

"You blushed there! What was that?"

Serena fought the blush on her own cheeks away and continued listening.

"No, I didn't!"

"Yes, you did! And now you're trying to deny it!"

"No I'm not!"

"So what's up with this Serena girl, and why are you blushing so much, Ash?"

"No reason!"

Serena heard some shuffling come from behind her. She couldn't tell if it was the people separating them, or if Ash and Goh were moving around back there.

"Tell me!"

"Nothing happened!"

"Come on, Ash! It's obvious that something did. I won't stop bothering you until you tell me."

Ash was quiet for a few moments. "Fine. But only because I know you're serious."

Serena did not hear a reply at first, and moved her head so that she could hear whatever was going on back there. Several moments passed in silence, until she heard Goh finally yell loudly.

"SHE KISSED YOU!?"

Serena saw a few people irritatingly turn around and glare in Goh's direction, and the old man next to her stirred. She, on the other hand, sank into her seat, face blazing red.

"Aw man…" She said out loud, and attempted to pull her beret down to cover up as much of her face as she could. "Did he really have to yell it that loudly?"

"Not so loud!" Ash replied. Serena heard the shuffling intensify and knew that that time it was probably them.

"Well, how else am I supposed to react when you tell me that a pretty girl kissed you!?"

If Serena had thought that her face couldn't get any redder, she realized then that she was wrong. Her face felt blazing hot, and must have been a deep shade of pink at that point.

Ash told him I was pretty…?"

Now Serena was faced with a dilemma. When should she reveal herself? It wouldn't be right for her to be two rows from her crush and not make him acknowledge the fact that she was there.

But after that situation that just unfolded, Serena didn't quite know what to do. The last thing she wanted to do was reveal herself, but she knew it needed to be done eventually. She knew what she had to do.

Mustering her willpower and courage, Serena told herself that she would rather reveal herself now than wait until they were in Sinnoh. It was for the best. She would deal with the embarrassment later. They could talk after the flight and catch up. But something in her heart was telling her to reveal herself now, so she prepared herself to do it.

She took a deep breath, and slowly raised her head over the seat. Turning her face around, she got a look at the other half of the plane. The two people in the row between Ash and Serena were both sound asleep, wearing something over their ears to keep out noise. Ash and Goh were looking at each other and whispering something, both gesturing animatedly. Ash did indeed have a slight blush on his face, and Goh had a massive grin as he looked to be eagerly listening to whatever his friend was saying.

Serena steeled herself and took another deep breath. "Ash…" She said, loud enough for him to hear, but not loud enough so that people glared at her like they did to Goh.

Goh looked over at Serena, a questioning expression written all over his face, but Ash froze. He slowly turned his head, and his eyes met Serena's.

Blue met brown.

Serena's mind went blank as she gasped when Ash looked at her. Both stared at each other for a few seconds. Ash, likely from not realizing that he was in the same plane as Serena, and she, from finally getting to look at the object of her affection again.

"Who's that?" Goh asked, nudging Ash with his elbow. When he didn't reply, Goh looked over at his friend, and noticed that he was staring at Serena in the same way that she was staring at him.

He looked at Serena, and then at Ash, and then back to Serena, and seemed to put the situation together in his head. He gasped, and grabbed Ash and brought him down below the seat so that Serena couldn't see them.

Serena was freed from her trance and immediately bolted down to her seat as well, her hand on her ribbon that was still tied to her chest. She was breathing heavily, and completely at a loss for what the next step was. She could hear the boys frantically whispering, but couldn't hear what they were saying. It was too loud in the plane. She mulled over her options in her mind for a few minutes, until Ash seemed to make the decision for her.

"Serena!"

Jumping up, Serena looked back at him. He had a great grin on his face and was holding up a crumpled-up piece of paper. In a smooth motion, he lobbed the paper towards Serena, who not-so-smoothly failed to catch it. It fell to the ground, and she scrambled to pick it up. As she reached down to grab the paper, she felt something lightly hit her head as well. Seeing a pen drop into her seat, she eagerly grabbed the paper and uncrumpled it, revealing a message scrawled onto it.

-Hi! We can pass notes so we don't disturb anyone. Did you hear anything?

Serena debated lying about having heard what Goh yelled, but there was no way she could get away with that. The entire plane surely heard his yell. Uncapping the pen and tapping it on her lip, she quickly decided that she had to be honest. With a giddiness at being able to talk to her crush finally, she hastily wrote down her own message and tossed the paper back at Ash. Thankfully he managed to catch it, unlike Serena.

-Hi Ash! Yeah, I did hear that

Serena waited patiently for Ash's reply, which took much longer than she had hoped. A few minutes, and a lot of shuffling from behind her later, the paper plopped into her lap again. She wasted no time in opening it and reading its contents.

-Sorry about that. Goh got a little excited. How have you been?

Straight to small talk. Serena sighed, but admitted that she would be willing to take any talking with Ash, even if they had to break through the small-talk barrier. She had waited two years for contact with him, and wasn't going to pass up the opportunity that was quite literally thrown to her.

-That's okay! I'm doing good. Heading to Sinnoh to see Dawn and May! I'm sure you remember them?

She tossed the note back towards Ash, who caught it a little less gracefully than before. A minute passed, and he sent his reply over the seat.

-Of course I remember them! I could never forget great friends like them. How did you meet them?

Serena scribbled down her reply and threw the paper back.

-I met May when I was in Hoenn after I left Kalos, and I met Dawn through May. They've both been a great help to me. I'm sure they would like to see you too!

Serena sent the paper back, and this time Ash didn't catch it. It fell into the aisle, but he quickly bent down and caught it. The speed at which he did so made Serena giggle. It seemed he was just as eager to talk with her as she was with him. Maybe…

A few minutes passed, and Serena patiently waited for Ash's reply. When it didn't come, she turned around and tried to get a peek at what the boys were doing. Goh was animatedly pointing in Serena's direction and whispering, while Ash was shaking his head fervently and whispering back. He glanced up and saw Serena looking at him, and gulped. His face got a little redder, and Goh seemed to take the opportunity to do something, and swiped the paper from Ash's hand. Using his leg to hold him away, Goh scribbled something onto the paper and tossed it towards Serena just as Ash yelled out "Hey!"

Serena, this time, managed to catch it, and wasted no time opening the paper. The words written on it were very messy, thanks to the speed at which Goh wrote them, but they set Serena's face on fire.

-I hope that I can see them too!

Then scribbled off to the right of the previous message. -Do you still like Ash?

Well, that certainly wasn't the way that she had expected the subject to be brought up. Sighing and shaking her head at herself, she knew that she had to tell the truth. Serena carefully wrote her words down on the paper and threw it back at the boys, avoiding the worried gaze of Ash as he peeked his head over the seat, and begging her heart to calm down.

-Yes, I still do

She heard Ash and Goh clamor over the note and shuffle around violently. Twiddling her fingers in anxiety, Serena impatiently awaited her reply from the boys. She just confessed to liking Ash directly to him, and couldn't get her heart to stop beating like she was sprinting. She was simultaneously proud of herself for admitting to him through words this time instead of implying it through her actions, but also incredibly nervous of what his reply would be.

A few minutes passed, and Serena's heart beat harder and harder with each second. She heard the boys whispering intensely, but received no reply through their paper note.

Roughly five minutes later, Serena felt the paper hit her head. It fell into her lap, and she opened it quickly.

-What do

Why did you

When did you

Why didn't you say anything?

Serena was stumped. That was a question she had asked herself a thousand times during their journey together in Kalos, and then a thousand times afterward when she was in Hoenn. She knew the answer. She was scared. But how did she convey that to Ash, who was now asking?

Taking a few seconds to think over how she was going to word it, Serena wrote her answer and tossed the paper back to Ash, who failed to catch it again. The old man next to her stirred.

-I was scared of what you would say. I didn't know what would happen if you rejected me

A few minutes passed again. The people across from Serena on her right gave her an intrigued look. They were probably watching the entire note-passing event go down.

The paper hit Serena's shoulder, and she bent down to pick it up.

-Nothing bad would have happened. I wish you had said something

Oh? This was beginning to head a direction that Serena wanted to explore further. She quickly wrote her reply and sent the note back.

-Why?

A few minutes passed and she received her reply.

-I liked you too

Serena gasped, and without thinking, turned around and looked towards the boys. Ash was resting his chin on the top of the seat and giving her a guilty smile, his face holding a slight blush. Goh was holding up his arms and silently mock-cheering, and gave Serena a thumb's up. She found it within her shock to reply with a giggle and a wave.

She kept facing Ash, and wrote her reply on the note. She threw it back to him, and he managed to catch it this time.

-Why didn't YOU say anything?

They were nearing the end of their paper, and Ash reached around in his seat for a new one. He reappeared with a fresh sheet and wrote his reply on it.

-I had never liked someone before, and was also scared. I didn't really know what to do

Serena giggled to herself again as she read the note. She was going to have a lot to talk about if she appeared in Sinnoh with Ash. Dawn and May would never let it go. Still though, she wrote down her reply and sent it to Ash.

-So does that mean you liked my "parting gift" back in Kalos?

Serena heard Goh laugh a few moments after throwing the note. He must have found something comical, either in what Serena had said, or in Ash's reaction. Soon, she got her reply.

-I did. I wanted to tell you I liked you too, but didn't know what to say. I just figured I'd see you eventually and tell you then

Serena took the note when she got it and wrote her reply.

-You don't know how long I've waited to hear you say that about the kiss I gave you. Would you have said anything if Goh didn't force you?

Serena heard Goh laugh again, and Ash loudly whispered for him to quiet down.

-Yeah, I would have. I just wanted to do it on my own. Sorry.

-That's okay. The last thing that I expected was to see you on this flight.

Ash waited a few minutes before he replied, but Serena was not nearly as nervous as she was before. After going over the hurdle of confessing her feelings and having them finally reciprocated, all she had to do now was ride the wave of the great mood she was in.

-I didn't expect to see you too. I'm glad I did though.

Serena smiled and wrote on the paper.

-Me too. What now?

She heard the boys whispering again. The flight attendant walked by offering snacks and drinks to people, and Serena just accepted a cup of water while she waited for her reply. Several minutes passed, and she got her reply.

-Can we talk about that in person when we land? I'd just like to catch up with you now.

Her smile never leaving her face, Serena took a sip of water and wrote her reply.

-Sure! I'll look forward to it! How did you meet Goh?

The flight went on for roughly six more hours, and Serena and Ash went through eleven full sheets of paper exchanging notes. They got in trouble by the flight attendants once, but they secretly continued passing notes. They just did it when people weren't watching.

Serena learned all she could about what Ash had been doing since he left Kalos, and she told him all she could about what she had been doing since she had gone to Hoenn. She was thoroughly impressed by his adventures in Alola, and everything he had done since adventuring with Goh. She laughed several times at the jokes he made, and even exchanged a few messages with Goh as well to get to know him. Both Ash and Goh agreed that they would stop in and see Dawn and May while they were in Sinnoh, and Serena couldn't have been happier when she heard that.

As the plane began to descend hours later, Ash threw the note towards Serena again. She opened it and read the note, a grin on her face in giddy anticipation.

-I think you did what you said you would

Serena's grin morphed into a confused smile, and she wrote her question on the paper and sent it back.

-What do you mean?

She got her reply a few seconds later.

-I do like the person you've grown into

Serena brought the paper close to her heart and inwardly squealed. Never in a million years had she expected everything that transpired on the plane to happen. Now though, it seemed like her wildest dreams had come true.

Another paper hit her head, and she set down the one in her hand in order to open it.

-I liked you before though. I didn't mean to imply that I didn't

Serena shook her head and didn't bother replying to that one. She simply drew a heart and a smiley face on the paper in her hand and threw it back at Ash. He did not reply, and the plane almost finished its descent. They landed in Jubilife City with a jolt, and the plane slowly came to a stop.

The old man next to Serena woke up and smiled at her. She smiled back, and began to gather up her things. She had never been more eager to get off of a plane. The lights inside the plane turned on, and people were permitted to stand. Quickly, Serena stood and immediately turned around. Ash stood up, and they smiled at each other as they gathered their luggage.

Serena got her suitcase out and got in line to get out of the plane. Slowly the line moved forward, and she bolted for the exit as soon as she could. She thought about waiting immediately outside the plane for Ash, but decided against it. Who knew how long he would take with the slow line inside the plane? Dawn and May were likely waiting at the terminal for her, and she could wait for Ash there.

She ran towards the terminal, passing other passengers along the way, until she entered a huge room. People were walking all over the place in this room, but in the distance, Serena saw her friends, May and Dawn. They seemed to see her too, and all three girls ran towards each other.

They closed the distance quickly, and Serena dropped her luggage to give her friends a giant hug.

"I missed you guys!" Serena cheered, squeezing her friends tightly.

"We missed you too!" May said, giving Serena a tighter squeeze.

"Welcome to Sinnoh!" Dawn said, letting go. The other two girls let go of each other as well. "I hope you'll like it! We're going to have so much fun!"

Serena threw her hands out then. "Girls…you're never going to believe who I saw on the plane…"

"Who?" May asked, cocking her head.

At that moment, Dawn seemed to look beyond Serena, and squinted her eyes in confusion. "Is that…Ash…?" She asked quietly.

Serena grinned and turned around quickly. Sure enough, Ash, Pikachu, and Goh were standing in front of the same door that Serena had come from. They looked to be searching for something, or someone, and stopped immediately once Serena turned around. Both she and Ash locked eyes again, and time seemed to slow down.

This time they were going to have a proper reunion.

Without another thought, both Ash and Serena ran towards each other as fast as they could.

The distance closed in no time at all. In just a few moments, Serena was going to have what she had been craving for years.

Just a few more steps.

Ash and Serena crashed into each other, grabbing each other tightly, as if they would never let go. Ash then lifted Serena up and spun her around in a circle, laughing along with her. She felt like she was on top of the world. It seemed he had grown a few inches since they last met too; something that Serena certainly wasn't going to complain about.

When he put her down, their faces were only inches apart. As if they both had the same thought at the same time, they closed the distance and kissed.

And it was like everything in the world suddenly fit. Everything made sense. Nothing else mattered any longer.

When they separated after a few moments, both had red faces, and were still holding each other close.

Serena giggled and Ash scratched under his nose.

"I missed you." He said.

"I missed you too."

"Just friends, huh…?" Came a familiar female voice from behind Serena.

Both Ash and Serena turned around to see the smirking faces of Dawn and May. May had a confident smile and was tapping her foot.

"Something you'd like to tell us, Serena? I thought you always said you and Ash were just good friends?" She said, not even trying to hide her teasing tone.

Serena looked at May, Dawn, and Goh, who had joined them, and then back to Ash. In his shining brown eyes was everything Serena had hoped to see. All the answers to every question she ever had were buried in there. All the support to ease her worries. She smiled.

Looking back at her friends then, she laughed and held her chin high. "We were. Now I think we're more that."

"I mean, I hope so. After what just happened." Ash commented, rubbing his hat over his hair.

Everyone laughed.

The only thing that Serena could think of was that she may not have been a fan of flying, but as she sat in the arms of Ash Ketchum, her crush from years before, she'd fly anywhere if it meant she could experience this level of joy again.

And she meant it.

Hey thanks for reaching the end of this story! I appreciate it. I'm okay with how this turned out, although I wish I had worked on it a bit longer though. I wanted to get it in for today though! Thanks for reading the story everyone, and have a great day wherever you are!
