It was crisp early morning, where the dawn mist was settling around the land and a beautiful sweet smell filled the air.

An old man with reddish brown hair, with slight gray hairs, was standing outside, watering his plants carefully and tending to any ones that were droopy.

He paused in his task to close his eyes and inhale, taking in the smell of the early morning air.

The fresh smell of dew and roses, well that was because his wife, Porpentina Goldstein-Scamander was keen on keeping them well taken care of.

So much, you could smell them the moment you walked into the gates.

He opened his eyes and walked to a small tiny shed in the front of his yard. He opened the door and stepped inside and heard tiny feet scurrying.

Very tiny familiar feet scurrying.

He looked around and found a tiny baby mole-like creature running across a tea table, grabbing small teaspoons.

This creature was a baby Niffler.

The man gave a look and heard tingling and saw another baby Niffler, on a weight measure trinket, simply playing.

The man placed a tea cup on the Niffler who was on the table. Taking an apple, he tossed it to the Niffler on the weight trinket.

The Tea Cup Niffler fell to the ground, only for the man to catch him.

The Weight Trinket Nifler flew into the air squeaking. He used his other hand to catch the Weight Niffler.

He opened a closet door and walked inside, hearing another squeak, he looked down to see a Niffler pulling on his shoe buckle.

He chuckled and walked downstairs carefully.

"Esme." He called out, his English accent ever so evident. The Nifflers squeaked loudly upon hearing the familiar name.

"Esme!" He called out again. He heard nothing and shouted a bit, "Esme Artemisia Fowl Scamander!"

From downstairs, a girl with a head of curly shiny auburn hair turned around, her task of bathing a MoonCalf now halted, revealing her baby blue eyes.

"Esme, your baby Nifflers are loose again, poppet." The man said as he walked downstairs.

A wide grin was his answer as she ran to him and picked up the tiny little babes, who curled into her arms, squeaking and stretching.

Esme Artemisia Fowl Scamander was a very clever and kind girl.

She had a soft sculptured face, just like her Grandfather's face, with long curly auburn hair, rosy cheeks, and a birthmark on her cheek.

It was amazing because many said she looked just like her grandfather and she beared no resemblance to her parents at all.

Then again, Esme never knew her parents.

"I'm sorry, Grandpa Newt, the little buggers must have snuck out while I was feeding the Moon Calves." Despite being 11 years old, Esme Scamander was no stranger to the Magical Creatures of her world.

Newt smiled gently at his little granddaughter and said, "No trouble, darling."

She placed them back in a cage and said, "So far, everyone has been fed, the Moon Calves have been bathed, The Kelpie is calm and napping…"

Newt asked as he petted a MoonCalf that walked up to him, "And the Occamy?"

"Still in their eggs, warm and cool." She called as she went to check on the Occamy nest, gently petting the mother who enjoyed the touch.

Newt said, "Wonderful. Oh, I have something for you."

He handed her a letter and she stared at it.

"Please tell me that isn't what I think it is." She asked timidly.

Newt smiled and said, "Open it, poppet."

She bit her lips and took the envelope.

Before she opened it, she looked at him and said, "Shouldn't Gramma and Rolf be around?"

Newt smiled and said, "Very well, darling. Come on, she must have started breakfast."

She followed him up stairs and out the shed.

In their tiny house, Porpentina Goldstein was cooking chocolate chip pancakes, brewing some tea and coffee, tea for Rolf and coffee for her and her husband.

Porpentina Goldstein-Scamander was a beautiful woman, her brown and gray hair curled into a bun, wrinkles beautifully decorating her skin.

Rolf Scamander, with shiny black hair and green eyes, walked downstairs and saw his baby sister walk inside with her grandfather, knowing full well she was in her shed, judging by the smell of Mooncalves and soap.

Rolf's face was elegant and round, although his hair was neatly kept with hair gel.

Rolf bared resemblance to his father.

Esme and Rolf had lost their parents when Esme was only a baby. Rolf was a year old and yet he saw his parents the most. He had faint memories but for some reason, he seemed to remember them the most.

Some followers of Gellert Grindelwald has attacked Esme and Rolf's parents.

Only Esme and Rolf were spared because Aurors had heard from Gellert Grindelwald himself that they were angry.

The followers were arrested and Esme and Rolf were given to Newt and Tina.

Tina and Newt had tried to salvage pictures of their parents but only certain pictures of their parents.

Only pictures of their father's youth were kept and salvaged. Nothing of their mother sadly.

However, they had a Pensive stashed away and Rolf, when he was much older had gone there, accidentally seeing memories of his parents that Newt had.

Newt and Tina didn't punish him, nor were they angry.

They vowed to show Esme when she was older, but unfortunately, a lone follower of Grindelwald had destroyed it, upsetting Rolf.

So, Rolf would tell Esme stories of their parents, knowing she could never truly meet them.

Tina noticed Esme and Newt walk inside and she turned around, only to gasp when she saw the suds on Esme's hair. "Darling," she gasped, "What on earth are those suds doing in your hair?"

She smiled and said, "Sorry, I was bathing the Moon Calves."

Newt smiled softly and chuckled while taking a seat. Tina shook her head softly and said, "Go wash your hair then your hands, breakfast is almost ready."

Esme nodded and ran upstairs, Rolf trailing after her.

Once she was done, she ran back down stairs with Rolf still behind her and they both sat down at the table.

Once they were served their breakfast, Newt said, "Well, I believe Esme has some news for us?"

Rolf and Tina looked up from their food and to Esme who pulled out a letter that hadn't been opened. "I haven't read it yet." She said.

Rolf put down his fork and said, "Open it."

She nodded and did so, her fingers trembling. She unfolded the parchment and read it out loud for everyone.

Dear, Esme Artemisia Fowl Scamander.

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!"

Tina sat up and gasped in shock while Rolf cheered.

Newt responded by embracing Esme and lifted her up, spinning her around, which is what his elder brother, Theseus did when Newt was accepted.

To which Newt responded with a straight face and fumbling hands, as he wasn't used to physical touch.

Esme was so elated as she hugged back her grandfather.

Tina was so proud of her granddaughter.

Rolf was excited to get to go to school with his little sister.

Newt set Esme down and she continued reading.

"Students will be required to report to the Chamber of Reception upon arrival.

Rolf was so happy and said, "I'll help you get your things! I wonder what kind of wand will respond to you!"
