A/N: Hello my readers, and welcome to another crossover. This stuff had been in my mind for quite a while, and now, here it is.
This is a re edited version and so will chapter 2, 3, 4 be in the next few days due to some grammatical errors made.
Not much was changed.
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto or The Avengers.
Chapter 1: Transcendence 1
Of all his achievements, Naruto uzumaki would declare that the fact he grew to old age and saw his children grow up was his greatest achievement ever aside from bringing peace to the world.
Not many shinobi especially high profile ones get to live long lives, but he had managed and surpassed the Third Hokage in that regard. In fact, he had surpassed all Hokage in that regard.
But unlike Lord Third and with no disrespect, Naruto had managed to keep his family together, happy and most importantly he kept the world at peace, fulfilling the dream of the First Hokage as well as his own personal ambition to end the cycle of hatred.
After the fourth war peace reigned for the most part, but with that came the challenge of keeping it since the world hadn't experienced such for the longest time.
But however, with the help of Sasuke and all his friends, he managed it successfully.
Thankfully, the next generation also took after his ideals so when those from his generation stepped down, the new ones took over as they sponsored a world of peace, ending the passing down cycle of animosity that started since the time of divide between the Sage of Six paths son's, something which he was very grateful for and was sure the founder of Shinobi would be too as well.
After all Ninshu was all about advocating peace with Chakra, not to be used as a weapon of mass destruction like the previous generations used it to promote.
The greatest threats to the peace however came in form of a familiar race of celestial beings known as the Otsutsuki's. They were brethren of their greatest enemy of all time and the unintended founder of chakra on earth being none other than the infamous, Kaguya Otsutsuki.
Dealing with them was difficult, but thankfully his power and that of Sasuke's were enough to repel them. After those battles, the both of them made sure the next generation were highly trained and prepared to deal with more threats to the peace, and of all who they trained the most, their children were the ones they passed down such responsibility to for the most part.
Even in times of peace, power was still important so that whoever challenged it if proven stubborn would be crushed and defeated. But even as the peace reigned, there were still losses that couldn't be avoided.
After all, Death was a phenomenon that no one could run from, and the ones Naruto loved were no exceptions..
Not even the Child of Prophecy could have save everyone.
First, he lost his wife, his beautiful Hinata and man did that hurt even more than the beatings and ridicule he received as a child.
However despite the loneliness, Naruto didn't remarry because while he was half Uzumaki, which left him looking in his forties even when he was in his seventies, he didn't have the mind to replace Hinata and no one blamed him for it.
Then after that, his friends began to die one by one, and before he knew it they were all gone, leaving him at 100 years old, and alone.
Having lived longer than most, Sasuke too died as it was even a miracle the Uchiha survived that long, the powers of the six paths having strengthened his body while still retaining his powers. But even the Uchiha couldn't overpower the call of nature as well as Death.
Despite all the losses Naruto lived a satisfied life with his children, grandchildren and those of all his friends, ensured that he lived happily into old age. It was the least all of them could do for someone as important as him, but eventually all good things must come to an end.
At 120 years old, Naruto Uzumaki, the child of prophecy, savior of the world and the 7th Hokage, passed on peacefully in his sleep...
Even though he could have lived longer than that, he didn't want to outlive his children or Grandchildren, because like him they also had Uzumaki genes though theirs was less pure than his. He could most likely had lived longer than they could but there was no point in such, after all children should be the ones to bury their parents, not the other way around.
The shinobi world would mourn but what mattered was that the world he left behind was left in good hands. That was the wish any good parent and leader could have and thankfully, he had achieved it..
It was time to move on.
When he thought of death, what he was experiencing wasn't what he had in mind, not by a long shot.
He didn't go to Hell, thankfully so, but he most definitely didn't go to Heaven. Maybe Purgatory perhaps..
Looking around as best as he could briefly, where he found himself didn't feel like the latter and besides, his long time time companion would have told him if it was considering how much his friend knew about the subject.
Oh right Kurama...
Naruto shouldn't have expected his old partner and friend to follow him in death and though the sentient lifeform of a beast couldn't age, he should have realized that even when he died, Kurama would stay behind and reform just as any Tailed beast would naturally. It was a sad reality, but the thought of reuniting with his late wife was welcoming to the former Hokage, hence his lack of resistance when embracing Death.
However he wasn't dead as it seemed, but he was definitely in a very different and unusual circumstance..
Upon closing his eyes for the final time and breathing his last, when he opened his eyes again he didn't expect to find himself in such a situation, but before he could make anything of it, it all came crashing down. Hard...
One moment he was floating, then the next he was pulled through a very long and narrow tunnel at fast speeds while seeing visions, all sorts of them and they were so many that he could hardly identify much from each one. So all he could do at point was just let himself be pulled along the tunnel by a seemingly overpowering force and wait for it to stop, if it ever would...
The only things he could make note of were the multiple lights he saw flash as kept on being pulled, from the brightest and most colorful of lights, to normal colors all flashing as he continued his descent down the seemingly endless tunnel.
After being dragged around helplessly for what felt like the longest time, it all stopped. Just like that...
Then just when he thought he was in the clear, the sharpest pain he had ever felt ripped through his body as it felt like his entire person was being torn apart from the inside out. The worst part was that there was nothing he could do about it, not even scream..
Body, mind, Soul, spirit, everything about his person was ripped apart and then just when he thought it was over, he found himself being squeezed into a tiny of Hole of sorts and soon after, his world went white...
Was he dreaming, it felt like he was because what he was seeing and surprisingly, feeling, weren't things he was familiar with.
Did dead people dream?.. He wondered.
His eyes were still closed, that much he knew but he began to see vivid flashes of a life that wasn't his own and not only that, he also felt and experienced the emotions that came with it, like as if he was the one that lived that life.
It didn't make any sense to him, but at that time there was nothing he could as he could only watch those memories play over and over before him, continuously.
What in Kami's name was going on?.. He asked himself.
If he was dreaming then perhaps it was time to wake up because none of this was making sense. The flashes, the tunnel he was dragged through, the visions he was seeing now, even more so the heavy emotions he felt from watching them.
He didn't feel like himself, not by a long shot. In fact nothing felt familiar whatsoever.
But wasn't he supposed to be dead?.. Or was this some kind of sick joke in form of a genjutsu?..
That question was answered when he felt his consciousness returning to him and by the time he had gained a reasonable semblance of it, the most painful headache he had ever experienced hit him suddenly. He couldn't even scream as he felt a great deal of weight like never before placed on him, preventing him from calling out and just as he thought the pain was getting too much, it stopped..
With his eyes still closed, he tried moving his body, but He discovered the he couldn't even move despite the slight comfort he was feeling at the moment-
Wait!
Feeling his back laying on something soft, his confused mind went into overdrive as he tried accessing whatever senses he had left to figure out where he was and what was happening.
It took great effort, but after sometime he managed to force his eyes open and he was greeted by an usual warmth and a very bright light..
At first, he shut his eyes immediately and several attempts of adjusting his eyes to the light, he was able to open them properly enough to scan his surroundings for clues.
Firstly, he was a on a bed..
Where did the bed come from?".. he wondered.
Secondly, he was in a room, one that he didn't recognize and thirdly, he was covered from his neck down to his legs, with part of his body visible to be seen.
Lastly and most importantly, he was alive or at least he felt alive.
Judging from how his body felt he probably wasn't in any good shape, but he was alive nonetheless. So all he just had to do was get out of the bed and figure things out, however he still couldn't move himself and such was beginning to get frustrating to him.
Calming himself, he tried again, but still couldn't move..
Looking down, he tried moving his legs just a little but found them to be unresponsive and after a few attempts of accessing his mobility and failing over and over, he gave up and just laid there.
In fact, he felt tired, very tired..
"Good morning" a calm voice greeted.
Looking to his other side he saw a person seated by his bed, hands folded on their lap and a small smile on their face.
It was a bald woman dressed in monkish robes of sorts, and with the way she smiled at him, dare he say that the smile was very beautiful, warm even..
Maybe a little too warm for his liking..
He should have sensed the presence, but somehow this person eluded his senses and surprisingly he still couldn't find himself sensing the person despite being in the very room with him and so close. In fact, he could hardly feel any extension of his senses whatsoever despite his attempt at stretching them out into the surroundings.
Perhaps it was because he wasn't in good shape?.. he questioned briefly.
No matter, he would access his Chakra an-
"Good morning" the woman greeted again, interrupting his train of thought.
Now that he thought about it, the words sounded foreign, almost like he was hearing another language but could understand it for some reason.
However, it seemed that no matter how old he had gotten he still had the tendency to be quite insensitive judging by his first words to the unknown woman..
"Why are you bald?" he managed to ask, and upon hearing himself something felt very wrong with the language and his voice. Especially his voice..
The woman in question just smiled even more, not looking the least bit offended. In fact, she looked to be amused even..
Before he could call her out on that and probably ask another stupid question, she interrupted him.
"You and I have a lot to talk about, Child of Prophecy". She said knowingly.
The confusion on his face only made the woman to be more amused, prompting a small chuckle from her.
"Huh" was all he could muster.
It was most certainly amusing, but one thing was sure. After this meeting, things would never be the same again, neither for him or for the world he found himself in.
True "Transcendence" had just begun and things were bound to get interesting indeed.
A/N: Like i said earlier, this is a re edit but not much was changed from its previous version.
