After freshening him up, he went straight to bed that night.
The next day, Lin Ye woke up and it was ready for his working time. This was something that Lin Ye was used to by now.
Obviously, when he first came to Rhodes Island, if he got up at this time, he would curse his past self for sleeping too long and then hurry to go to work. Or maybe if he was too tired, he would guiltily continue to close his eyes for a couple of hours.
But now, when glanced at his clock he just buried his head into his pillow and continued to sleep without a care in the world.
When he finally got up from his bed, it was almost noon. He went to his bathroom and cleaned himself up.
When he went out, he found a blue medicine bottle on the cabinet and a piece of paper under the medicine bottle.
Lin Ye picked up the medicine bottle, looked at the paper, and found something written on it.
It was Ansel's handwriting.
On it, it told him about the medicines. How many times a day should he take it, how many tablets to take each time, and so on.
He then remembered that Ansel told him to get the medicines for diarrhea in the cabinet last night.
"No way," Lin Ye murmured, "He really did believe me. But he did not sound like it last night"
Lin Ye didn't quite understand, but his heart felt guilty for deceiving Ansel.
However, his guilt quickly turned into pride.
Seeing that his roommate was not only fair and beautiful, he even treated diseases for him.
He was the ideal roommate for him.
He has no shortcomings at all except that he grinded his teeth at night and he was a man.
Lin Ye was grateful to have him as a roommate. He then thought that if he could have a roommate like this in his previous life, he might not die suddenly.
Lin Ye, who went out to work with joy, soon encountered something that made him feel even more surprised.
When he entered the door, he saw Skadi and Ptilopsis sitting in the office.
Lin Ye couldn't believe his eyes.
"Oh my god." Lin Ye put the medicine Ansel gave him on the desk and looked at Ptilopsis with wonder, "This is incredible. You came to work again."
"Ptilopsis has been going to work on time," She said to him, "It has been like this for a week now."
"A week? That's really rare... wait." Lin Ye realised something, "I wasn't on the island a few days ago. Why would you come to the office if I wasn't here?"
Ptilopsis replied seriously to him.
"Help you guard the office."
Lin Ye couldn't believe his ears.
Who are you and what did you do to my Ptilopsis? She never would say something like that.
This had to make Lin Ye feel suspicious and a bit worried for her.
"You don't have a fever, do you?" Lin Ye placed his hand on her forehead. She seemed to be okay," Do you have any brain injuries? Did you fry your brain when I was not around?"
"Ptilopsis is in good health," Ptilopsis said to him. "Moreover, strictly speaking, Ptilopsis's brain is already injured. In addition, there is no saying that a fever will burn it out."
Lin Ye smiled at her.
"Is that so?" Lin Ye patted her head," Can't say you are wrong."
She leaned into his hand.
Lin Ye knew that she was here because she didn't have anything to do. He heard from Kal'tsit that the medical staff had been given an off day.
However, he did not really mind. He enjoyed her company even though she loved to annoy him.
After rubbing her head, Lin Ye looked at Skadi and smiled at her.
His smile then was slightly reduced when he saw that Skadi had packed her luggage..
"Are you going to leave the island?" Lin Ye smiled at her and guessed immediately.
Skadi nodded at him.
"Yeah."
"That fast?" Lin Ye asked, "Didn't you say you want to take a break?"
"My break time is over," Skadi said, "I can't rest all year round. Kal'tsit asks me to leave."
Lin Ye was a little helpless, but he also knew that Skadi was different from him.
Skadi was one of the most important combat powers on the island, and her tasks were all directly assigned by Kal'tsit.
It was impossible for her to be on the island for too long.
Just like before, Skadi never stayed for less than a week every time she went back to the island. This was the longest that she had ever had a rest.
Skadi looked at Lin Ye and then sighed slightly.
"I obviously asked Kal'tsit for a leave to train you," She stared at him blankly, "However, you did not that much training."
"Hehe." Lin Ye scratched his head, "Sorry."
Fortunately for him, Skadi didn't seem to care.
"But it doesn't matter," She shook her head, "The training method that I left to you should be enough. You just need to practice by yourself."
"I understand," Lin Ye nodded, "So when will you leave?"
"Now."
Skadi picked up her luggage and turned to leave.
Lin Ye also realized that Skadi had stayed here just to say her goodbyes to him.
If it was usual, she would not choose to leave at noon. After all, going out at this time, she would meet a lot of people now. She didn't like strangers that much.
Lin Ye smiled at her. Then he walked beside her to send her off. He never really said goodbye to her when she left the island.
Skadi did not object to this.
They both walk beside each other without any of them speaking.
Lin Ye then found a topic to talk about with her. He told her about what Warfarin told him about how he cou;d learn Arts. That seemed to be a good thing to talk about.
"Arts?" Skadi thought about it and then shook her head, "I don't have any knowledge about this aspect."
"I thought so," Lin Ye smiled at her, "After all, you don't need to rely on Arts skills to fight."
"All I rely on is my own strength." Skadi said calmly, "I don't need Arts skills. That kind of thing is of no use to me."
Lin Ye smiles at what she said. That was a very Skadi thing for her to say.
However, Skadi was not finished talking.
"But if it's you, you can try to learn it."
"Huh?" Lin Ye was surprised by this, "Why do you say that?"
"Because what you have is not enough." Skadi explained, "Like your Leaping Wave Strike. NO matter how hard you try, you will never catch up to me."
"Ouch. That's hurt," Lin Ye chuckled, "But I can agree with you. Still hurt to hear that"
"I am just telling the truth," Skadi said, "So if you want to get stronger, you need to learn more skills."
Lin Ye smiled at her.
"If you say so," Lin Ye looked at the sky above them and then looked back to her, "But I doubt I can get stronger than you."
"Why do you say that?" Skadi glanced at Lin Ye's eyes. Then she raised her head, looked at the sky, and then said softly, "If one day you really become stronger than me. I would be very happy."
Lin Ye's eyes widened but he smiled at her.
"Looks like I need to train more, huh?" Lin Ye stared at the cloud floating freely above him," Don't want you to be sad."
Skadi just hummed at this.
"Oh!" Lin Ye remembered something, "I also forgot."
Lin Ye then fished out something out of his pocket. It was a hairclip
It has an orca as its decoration.
"Here," Lin Ye headed it to her, "A present for you."
Skadi's eyes widened as she looked at the item in his hand. Then she asked him in a quiet voice.
"Why?"
"Why?" Lin Ye smiled at her, "Well, I saw it on the street at Jim Town. And when I saw it, I thought it would be perfect for you. You don't want it?"
After being silent for a while, she shook her head.
"It's not that," Skadi said, "I just don't know how to use it."
"Is that so," Lin Ye thought for a while, then came up with an idea, "Let me show you. Put down your hat."
Skadi looked at him confusingly but she still followed what he said and put down her hat.
Lin Y got close to her. He clipped his gift onto her hair, he even tidies it up a bit for her.
He ran his finger through her silk-like hair as gentle as he could.
"There," Lin Ye took a step back to look at her, "Now your hair won't get in the way if you are fighting. If you don't want to show it, you can always hide it under your hat."
Skadi traced the hairclip on her head with her finger. She could feel the plastic. It was cheap, and everyone could get it anywhere.
However, why did she feel...
"Thank you," Skadi put on her hat and hid the clip under it, "I appreciate it."
"It's nothing," Lin Ye smiled and shook his head, "I am just happy you like it."
After bidding farewell to Skadi, Lin Ye returned to the office, and then he saw Ptilopsis standing at his desk. She was looking at his bottle of medicine for diarrhea.
"Ptilopsis," He called her, "What are you doing?"
She looked back at Lin Ye. The feathers on her hair move.
"Doctor Lin, do you have diarrhea?"
"No," Lin Ye chuckled, "Don't talk nonsense."
"But you are the one that put the medicine here." Ptilopsis said, "Don't be shy. Ptilopsis is also a doctor. If you are uncomfortable, she can help you. You don't need to take medicine."
"I said I was fine. This bottle of medicine was an accident." Lin Ye said, "And I am also a doctor."
"But I heard that you can only do sterilization."
Lin Ye felt his vain about to pop.
"You little," Lin Ye held back his anger, "I do and know more than that."
I even cut a cat's nails! Washes a cat! Vaccinate a cat! Deworming a cat! I can treat animals! Do you know it is way harder to become a vet than a doctor?! At least a doctor just needs to know how the human body works, vets need to know different types of bodies from different types of species!
Lin Ye really wanted to say all that to her, but he was better than that. So, he just sighed at her.
"Forget it," Lin Ye shook his head, "Just do whatever you like here."
"Understood," Ptilopsis nodded, "However, Doctor Lin. You don't really do much here."
He was starting to regret his decision to accept her as his assistant. But she grew on him. What could he do? Then he remembered something.
"Ptilopsis."
"Yes"
"I heard that you have an infection in your head," Lin Ye said, "That's why you talk like that."
"Yes," She nodded," Why does Doctor Lin ask that?"
Lin Ye ponders for a moment and says, "Why don't you get rid of the virus in your brain?"
She looks at Lin Ye with a foolish look.
"Because with the technology now, it can't heal me," She explained, "There is no drug in the world that will help me for now."
So, she doesn't know about the drug yet, huh.
Lin Ye thought to himself.
Even though it was still in development, in the near future, maybe it could help her. Like how he hopes that it can heal Liz's legs.
With this thought, he felt much better now. He went up to her and patted her head.
"Is that so," He smiled at her, "Let's just start our work for now."
