"What is your name?" Lin Ye asked.

"Ey-Eyjafjalla." Eyjafjalla grabbed the hem of her skirt and stuttered her name.

"Where are you from?" Lin Ye asked again.

"... Leithania," Eyjafjalla replied in a low voice.

"When is your birthday?"

"My birthday?" Eyjafjalla hesitated for a while, and then said in a very uncertain tone, "It should be in October, I think?"

"You don't remember your own birthday?" Lin Ye raised a brow, "Why?"

"I'm sorry. It's been so long since I had to remember it. I can't remember it clearly." Eyjafjalla said, "But now that I think about it, it should be on the 18th of October. I am sure of it."

"I see," Lin Ye smiled at her, "Last question."

"Yes." She nodded eagerly at him.

He stared at her pink orbs.

"You can really hear me?"

"Mhm," She nodded and said in a very soft voice, "I can hear you. Your voice is very clear to me. It's been so long since I heard someone like this."

The Q&A session between Lin Ye and Eyjafjalla was being viewed by the medical staff present here.

Saria pinched her chin at this.

"This shouldn't be possible," She stared at them in wonder, "Incredible."

Olivia was as amazed as Saria now.

"How can this happen? Did Eyjafjalla recover her hearing?"

"No," Saria shook her head, "Try to call her name."

Olivia nodded and called Eyjafjalla.

She did not react. She just nervously stared at Lin Ye who was sitting in front of her.

This confirmed to Olivia that she hadn't recovered her hearing. She wouldn't pretend to be deaf. So, that meant only one thing.

"She can only hear Lin Ye's voice," Olivia muttered.

Saria agreed with her, "That's what I meant when I said this was incredible."

After speaking, Saria walked towards the both of them. Hearing footsteps getting close to him, Lin Ye turned his head.

"Saria? Olivia?" Lin Ye asked them, "What's going on?"

"I should be the one asking you that," Saria said," How are you doing this?"

Lin Ye could only smile bitterly at her question.

"Do you think I know?" Lin Ye shook his head, "Even I am at a loss."

"This is truly an amazing thing that you can do," Saria looked at Lin Ye, thought for a while, then said, "But I shouldn't be surprised by now. You are you. I always feel that you are full of secrets, whether you know it or not."

Lin Ye didn't know how to answer her question.

It was the truth after all

He had a lot of mysteries that even he couldn't tell anyone.

For example, how he could pull Chi Xiao out of its sheath or when he could ring Pramanix's bell.

He didn't know how he could pull Chi Xiao out and for the bell... He had his own theory on how. He just couldn't confirm it yet.

While Lin Ye and Saria were talking, Eyjafjalla was by his side listening to them. To be more precise, to Lin Ye. She couldn't hear Saria's voice.

"Senpai?" She suddenly asked him, "What should I call you?"

Lin Ye turned to look at her.

She had quite a petite body. She gave off the feeling of the kind young girl next door. She just gave out a good feeling every time she talked to him.

Then he remembered that she had an incurable disease in her. This made Lin Ye feel bad for her.

"You don't need to call me in that respectful way." Lin Ye shook his head and said, "You don't need to call me your senior. Just call me Lin Ye."

"Lin Ye?" She looked conflicted, "Are you not a senior in the medical department?

Lin Ye was about to deny, but Saria suddenly pressed his shoulder and motioned him to not speak.

He looked at Saria in a puzzled manner. Saria merely walked past him and went to the goat girl. Then she leaned down to her ear and talked to her.

"You can call Dr. Lin Ye your senior. He is in our medical department. From now on, he will be responsible for your treatment. Don't worry, he is the best doctor here." She then looked at him with a smile, "He will definitely cure you."

After listening to Saria's words, Eyjafjalla's eyes instantly change.

"Is that true? Is that true, Lin Ye... No." She shook her head, "Senpai?"

Lin Ye originally wanted to say something to her, but when he saw how happy she was, those words changed into something else. He smiles at her and rubs her head.

"Of course," He nodded at her, a smile still on his face," Everything will be okay."

A few minutes later, Saria took Lin Ye aside and handed Eyjafjalla's physical examination to him. Olivia also follows them.

"I seem to have found you another job that is not easy." Saria was afraid that Eyjafjalla would hear her talking, so she took him out of the medical department to the corridor, "I hope it won't be trouble for you."

"Trouble? Of course not." Lin Ye shook his head, "I am quite free now. I rarely come to the medical department anyway."

"You are still the same," Saria said with a smile, "But I think that you like to come here when it's about dinner time."

"Not you too," Lin Ye sighed in dismay but he still had a smile on his face," Those weren't for work purposes."

Both of the women chuckled at this.

"Okay. Enough joking around," Saria stopped chuckling and got into the main topic, "You already know how bad her condition is currently. With her brain being infected by Oripathy, she has trouble seeing and hearing things. If this continues, she will likely die. Her only hope is being taken care of by you."

Olivia then took over the conversation.

"Of course, we won't ignore Eyjafjalla. We will continue to follow up on her treatment. What Saria means is, we want you to help us."

She nods, "Yes."

"If that is the case, there will be no problem." Lin Ye smiled at them, "I would be happy to help her."

"I knew you wouldn't refuse." Saria said with a smile, "Although I don't know how you did it, Eyjafjalla does have a very subtle intimacy towards you. Maybe it is because she can hear your voice. After her condition becomes worse, she will barely hear or even see people. Sooner or later, this will affect her emotions. Emotions also play a great role in fighting off an illness."

"I understand," Lin Ye took a deep breath and let it all out, "This is my job after all."

"Yes. You are a doctor," Saria looked at Lin Ye, thought about it for a while, and said, "To be honest, there are so many secrets with your body. Even I am curious. If it wasn't for Eyjafjalla being our top priority now, I would like to list you as a research object. I wouldn't be surprised if we can find the key to curing the Oripathy disease in your body."

You have no idea.

Lin Ye's mouth twitched and he smiled awkwardly at her.

"I doubt that."

Saria smiled at him.

"I am just joking."

Olivia puffed out a sigh.

"Now is not the time for jokes."

Saria's smile immediately disappeared.

"Alright, Doctor Lin Ye." Olivia said, "I'll give you her information later. You should take it back and have a look, this child will not be easy for you."

Lin Ye nods, "I understand,"

"Also, did you understand what Saria meant just now?"

"Huh?" Lin Ye was confused, "What do you mean?"

"Saria wants you to take care of her as an attending physician, not as a psychologist."

"Is there any difference?" Lin Ye was still having a hard time understanding this.

"This is not us giving her to you because she is a troubled child, like what you normally have to deal with."

After her explanation, Lin Ye understood what they meant just now, and nodded gently, "I understand."

"Of course, this is just on paper. Her treatment is still our responsibility. You should not talk to her about medical matters." Olivia said, "She is not a medical novice, but an intern in our medical department. You can say that what you know, she knows, and what you don't know, she also knows.

Ah... A prodigy then?

Lin Ye nodded.

"She is really a very good child. She is smart, capable, and has Arts skills." Olivia looked tired, "If it weren't for Oripathy, she would have a bright future."

Lin Ye could hear her tone have a touch of sadness in it. Maybe she was comparing Eyjafjalla to Ifrit. Lin Ye sighed and patted her on the shoulder. Saria also had the same idea as him.

"Don't worry," Saria told her, "Both of them will be fine,"

"Yeah," Lin Ye agreed, "It will all be alright. Just have faith."

Olivia nodded at them both.

Then, Lin Ye followed Olivia back to the medical department and got Eyjafjalla's information. Before he could leave, Sussurro came to inform Lin Ye that Eyjafjalla's medical examination was over and that the medical examination report would be handed over to Lin Ye in one day.

Although he didn't need it, he could use it to better understand her condition. Then he went to see her again.

He found Eyjafjalla standing at the door of the medical department, surrounded by several black sheep.

"Eyjafjalla?" Lin Ye walked to her, then he stared at the sheep near her, "Are these your pets?"

Eyjafjalla turned around and nodded nervously at him.

"Yes. They are," She smiled at him timidly, "They help me walk."

"Oh," Lin Ye's eyes widened, "I see."

Then he stretched his hand out to pet one of them.

Eyjafjalla noticed this and tried to warn him about something urgently.

"No! Senpai, wait! They will burn you!"

"Meh~"

"Oh, you like this?" Lin Ye continues to rub it under its chin.

"Baa~!"

"Glad to hear." Lin Ye smiled at it, then he felt something pulling on his sleeve.

He turned around to see the other sheep pull on him too.

"Meh~!"

"Oh, you all want some too?" He then pats the other as well, "There. There."

"Meh~!"

"Meh~!"

Then he was surrounded by all of them. They were all pushing each other to get his attention.

"Haha," Lin Ye laughed, "Okay, okay. Wait your turn."

"Meh~!"

"Huh?" Lin Ye then looked at Eyjafjalla. He heard her called him just now, "What did you say?"

She did not know what to say.
