Chapter 5: One step at a time
Mrs. Wombat walk to Izuku, causing him to make fun the book she's holding, which also caused the teacher to give him a stern look. Mrs. Wombat then talked to Izuku for a moment about how hard it is to make friends because of his intelligence before telling him a story about his ancestors, who are also highly intelligent geniuses. She then told Izuku that the first Midoriya, who was Mario gives her the Immortality quirk, which caused her to prevent aging. And throughout the generations of Midoriyas, she discovered that they're all unique in their own ways. She then wraps it up with a flashback of her teaching each ancestor a lesson that they think are too basic for them and dealing with their insufferableness because she won't give up on helping those with unique flaws and being highly intelligent and the most unique flaw that she deals with because it what made Izuku and his ancestor very special. Izuku then starts to cry and thanked Mrs. Wombat before she advised him to be more nicer and patient with the low intelligent life forms because it's the only way to make friends. Izuku then got up with determination and thanked Mrs. Wombat again before marching off to give being nice and patient a try.
Izuku walked up to Ochaco and sat down to watch her spin a fidget as she dazed into it making noises with her mouth. Izuku then watched her rock back and forth until she noticed him, causing Izuku to smile and asked what she is doing. Ochaco then look at her fidget spinner and mumbled fidget, which Izuku fortunately heard. Izuku then calmly asked Ochaco if he could spin her fidget, causing Ochaco to look at Izuku smiling at her before giving her fidget to him, much to his curiosity. Soon, Izuku hung out with Ochaco at lunch asking her questions about her interest, which Ochaco kept mumbling about fidget spinners and Sesame Street. While Izuku tries to be patient, everyone else from class a look at Izuku and Ochaco in confusion. During recess, Izuku talks to Ochaco about how interesting leaves are after watching her stare at a leaf for five minutes, causing Ochaco to smile at him and giggle. Soon after sitting and staring at leaves for a moment, Ochaco asked Izuku about living with All Might and asked him if he and his mom are getting married, which made Izuku surprised as his eyes widen before Ochaco giggles again and said that he's silly. After Izuku answered Ochaco's question, Ochaco asked Izuku if he wants to be her friend since she too haven't made any and he's very nice and cute, which made Izuku blushed and start babbling until Ochaco calms him down and said that she'll takes his babbling for a yes. Ochaco then left Izuku amazed and smitten until he gets an idea to give this being nice and patient with his other classmates.
Ochaco gets a flashback of herself as a baby as her parents looks at her with joy until they realized that she's not showing any emotions. Soon, the parents brought her home and tries to make her laugh. But kept failing to do so. As Ochaco got older, her parents realized that she hasn't talk yet since she's 15-month-old and became worried when she only said no and yes. Soon a doctor told them that Ochaco has autism and must be treated with love and care, which the parents understood before the doctor gives them an address of a speech therapist and suggest giving Ochaco IEP before she starts school. When Ochaco is four years old, she has a three-year-old brother named Zero who talks expectedly unlike her sister who only willingly talks to her parents and shy around strangers. The next day, Ochaco rocked in a couch making happy noises and stemming as she watched All Might confirming his dating status with Inko. The flashback ends with Ochaco throwing a temper tantrum when her parents try to convince her to eat something else besides mochi before hiding in a corner with her face covered in her knees.
