Chapter 73: Becoming Merlin's apprentice
Meanwhile, the U.A. League except All Might, who is still at the hospital, are on their way to save Mr. Yaoyorozu from getting corrupted by Merlin as they especially Mrs. Yaoyorozu hope that they aren't too late. Back at the fight, Mr. Yaoyorozu kicked Merlin in the groins so he can be able to breath before creating another weapon to fight the sorcerer, causing the sorcerer himself to create a dimensional rift, which makes the fight harder than Mr. Yaoyorozu thought. He then hit Merlin's spells like a tennis game, until he was hit a few times before falling out of rift. Merlin then told Mr. Yaoyorozu that he will never defeat him because he's invincible, causing Mr. yaoyorozu to get up and tries to fight back, but doesn't have enough strength to do so, which caused him to start crying and mentally apologized to Momo and Ashley as he said that he failed them. Merlin then smiled sinisterly and asked Mr. Yaoyorozu if he's ready to listen to what he has to say or ready to die, causing Mr. Yaoyorozu to sigh and said that he's ready to listen.
Merlin sat Mr. Yaoyorozu down so he can tell him a deal that he's offering, which is that he became his apprentice to steal one for all and become a member of the Warcraft of Doom, otherwise he'll spread the sleeping disease all over Japan, and made everyone including Mr. Yaoyorozu sleep for eternity. Mr. Yaoyorozu then initially hesitate before giving up and said that he'll only join to protect his friends, which Merlin knew that he would. Merlin then laughs victoriously before looking into his spell book to give Mr. Yaoyorozu a new evil look, and decided to give him the villain name Red X, causing Mr. Yaoyorozu to solemnly look at a picture of everybody in U.A. Apartments as a tear drop on it.
Meanwhile, the U.A. League are almost there to Mr. Yaoyorozu's location as they all look on with determination. Back with Mr. Yaoyorozu, he asks Merlin to let him do something first, causing Merlin to roll his eyes and allow him before giving him one minute to do it. Mr. Yaoyorozu then sat down and took out a piece of paper to write a note for his friends, as he does it though, he began to cry before remembering all the adventures he had with his friends since they moved into the building together, starting from facing the Eliminator to mentoring Momo and Itsuka during their internship. After he finish his note to his friends, he told Merlin that he's ready, causing Merlin to tell him that his first mission as his apprentice is to steal one for all for All for one, which Mr. Yaoyorozu understood. Suddenly, Mr. Yaoyorozu and Merlin heard something, causing Merlin to vanished after telling Mr. Yaoyorozu to not disappoint him. Mr. Yaoyorozu then hid behind the bush and put his mask on as he watched his friends read his note and became devastated because they're too late. Mrs. Asui then told everyone that she's getting a weird feeling that they are being watched, causing everyone to look around to investigate until Inko saw a shadowy figure looking at her on top of Majestic Agency, which also caused her to get everyone together to confront the mysterious figure, while the figure itself reluctantly gives them a cold stare.
