Chapter 9

Getting To The Pyramid

Previously in the last chapter:

Imhotep knocked out Tyler and had sent him to a remote desert to have his flesh eaten by Scarabs. The Dino Charge Rangers met all the other Ranger teams to help save the world with some staying to create devices and some spying on Imhotep to see what he was planning. One team of Rangers spied on Imhotep as he was able to complete a spell to rise the Pyramid of Horus from a distance and was heading there to have their sacred wedding. Meanwhile Shelby's father Mr. Watkins, along with Tommy, James and Ivan set out to Save Tyler as they did and they all ended up in Hamunaptra to find the Golden Book of Amun-Ra and their friends who were helping Imhotep build his army. They were able to find it and destroy the source of energy that was creating his army releasing their friends but now it has put them in a rampant state to attack the heroes.

And now the continuation:

"You destroyed the energy source. You dare defy the great Pharaoh Imhotep?" Heckyl said to Tommy.

"All of Imhotep enemies..." Riley said to Ivan.

"Will be destroyed." Chase said to James. And the rampant servants of Imhotep started to attack the Rangers. Tyler and Mr. Watkins had got out to see Tommy defending himself against Heckyl.

"Tyler help Tommy I'll try to see if I can break the curse." Mr. Watkins said.

"How?"

There's are inscription on the covers. One could actually bring those under influence back to normal. I can read ancient Egyptian."

"Wouldn't you need the key?"

"Not really but I would need it to read more spells for our battles ahead. But we can't worry about that now protect Tommy while I start."

"All right!"

Tyler and Tommy was doing their best to fend off Heckyl. At the other two Rangers elsewhere we're doing their best to fend off Riley and Chase. Meanwhile as Ivan was defending himself against Riley, he stumbled on a octagonal shaped item that clicked when his foot twisted the item when he stepped on it. Ivan had quickly examined it before Riley kept on attacking him. Tyler and Tommy kept on defending against Heckyl as Mr. Watkins was almost done but was trying to figure out the final symbol of the incantation.

"Mr. Watkins?" Tommy asked.

"I'm trying to figure what this last symbol is! I know it's a bird of some kind!"

"Does it look like a stork?" Tyler asked as Mr. Watkins looked very closely.

"It absolutely looks like it!"

*flashback*

Tyler soon remembered the time when He saw Shelby reading from the black book when he saw that symbol.

"Is that a… Albatross?"

"No Tyler, it's an Amenophus."

"Amen…"

"…Ophus. It's ancient Egyptian for stork."

"Okay, so the ancient Egyptian name for stork is Amenophus."

"You got it. Yet who knows learning about this might help you in the future."

*end flashback*

"It's Amenophus!"

"I got it!"

Mr. Watkins had finished the incantation and Heckyl suddenly stopped for a second before a dark blue aura began to leave his body when the aura was gone Heckyl fell back.

"Heckyl!" Tyler said as he rushed towards him. But Heckyl soon woke up and wondered where he was.

"Tyler?"

"Yes, Heckyl it's me."

"Where are we?"

"We are inside Hamunaptra. What can you remember?"

"Basically everything until what happened now like what did I…?"

"You were rampant and had attacked us." Tommy said.

"But then I freed you." Mr. Watkins replied.

"So what did Imhotep had you do?"

"Me, Chase and Riley all had specific roles in raising Imhotep's army Chase's energy, had gave them their strength, Riley's energy had gave them the ability to regenerate, and my energy increased their durability."

"His army is going to be tough to take down."

"Wait, there's more."

"Fill us in on the run." Tyler said. "Right now we got to get to Riley and Chase!"

"Right."

The 4 had made their way towards the treasure room and found both Riley and Ivan. Ivan looked like he was tired out, Tommy, Heckyl and Tyler had intervened as Mr. Watkins has read the spell again Ivan noticed the insignia on the front of the golden book that matches the insignia on the item he stepped on. As soon as Mr. Watkins was done with the incantation Riley had a green aura leave his body before he dropped to his knees. The group had tended to him to make sure he was okay.

"Riley?" Tyler asked

"Tyler? You're okay?"

"Yes. But how are you?"

"I can't remember what has happened right now at the moment."

"Don't worry Riley." Heckyl said. "Same thing happened to me."

"Is this Hamunaptra?"

"Yes." Mr. Watkins said.

"Hold on, guys." Ivan said as he brought the object to the book and the pattern of the item fit on the book.

"Ivan where did you find this key?"

"I happen to stumble upon it while I was defending against Riley."

"So what now?" Tommy asked.

"Now we can fully used the book to eliminate the dead and many other things." Mr. Watkins said.

"Guys I also was able to remember that Imhotep had us linked to Erin, Kaylee, and Kendall." Riley said.

"Which is why Imhotep took them with him, not just to witness a wedding."

"But to keep their army active if we keep destroying them." Tommy said.

"We got to get to Chase." Tyler said as the 7 made haste to go back to where they left James with Chase. James was now exhausted from his fight with Chase. Chase used his Dino Morpher to blast James back upon the force of being knocked back James demorphed and Chase was about to finish him off.

"Chase… you're not yourself… please don't do this."

"In the name of our Pharaoh… you shall be destroyed."

"Chase!"

But before Chase could fire at James, the others fired blasts at James sending him back and they were able to fend him off for Mr. Watkins to complete the incantation and soon after that Chase knelt down exhausted as a black aura had ended up leaving his body. Chase looked around and saw everybody.

"What just happened?" Chase asked.

"We we're under Imhotep's control. He used us." Riley replied.

"Oh, so where are we?"

"Inside Hamunaptra" Tyler said.

"Tyler. You're still alive?"

"Yes, I was almost beetle bait."

"Now that we are all here and safe we can join the others." Tommy said.

"Of course." Tyler said as the group ran toward the Falconzord.

Meanwhile in the desert Imhotep, Anck-Su-Namun, Zenowing along with the captured Kendall, Kaylee, and Erin. Weremwalking towards the pyramid as Imhotep's army formed and lined up on either side. After getting up a flight of stairs which would lead towards the entrance, Imhotep and Anck-Su-Namun turned around to face the army while Zenowing had Imhotep's minions lead the girls inside the Pyramid. Inside the mind of Shelby's body, Anck-Su-Namun was still protected as Shelby still could not harm her she could only look the soldiers that stood out in her view.

"Enjoy the view and despair, conduit it will be the last you'll ever see of the outside of Earth."

"You will not get away with this."

"Oh it looks like we have."

Imhotep faced his army and began to address them while the other rangers looked from afar he spoke to his army in ancient Egyptian. As Ethan who appeared with the other rangers began to translate.

"My servants… you are my most dangerous army… when I come back out with my new wife… this planet will be enslaved… as we will rule… forever. But until then… protect this pyramid… destroy anyone who comes your way… show no mercy."

Soon Imhotep and Anck-Su-Namun went in the pyramid with the door slamming shut behind them.

"We have to hurry, Imhotep cannot be allowed to marry his love in Shelby's body!" Keeper replied.

"Right, we have to get to the pyramid." Jason said. "But first we have to wipe out Imhotep's army."

"Rangers!" Kimberly shouted as all the Power Ranger teams assembled. As the remaining ones morphed they were ready to attack. As they charged towards them Imhotep's army. A minute into charging towards the undead army the Pyramid of Horus continued to rise up becoming bigger and taller even though the Ranger squad saw this happening they did not let up on their assault towards Imhotep's army. The battle was underway and the Rangers were having an easy time taking out the the mummified priests and soldiers of Imhotep's army, but when it came to Anubis' Soldiers they had a hard time eliminating them meanwhile Tyler and the gang finally made it toward the battle, They all jumped out of the Falconzord and helped out their fellow rangers. Even with the book and all Mr. Watkins had helped out with taking down Imhotep's army in fact he was able to take down an Anubis warrior with ease knowing his past knowledge of the Medjai.

"How were you able to take out the warrior?" Tyler asked.

"Take out the head." Mr. Watkins replied and as soon as Tyler did it the other rangers soon followed and it had became much easier to take out the rest of the army. When they were done, the rangers had looked at the pyramid still rising but it would feel like ages for a normal person to reach the top of the stairs.

"The pyramid is still rising!" Billy said. But soon they also noticed something another set of Imhotep's army charging on the left side.

"What is happening?" Katherine asked.

"I though we got rid of them!" Wes replied.

"These guys will keep regenerating and coming back stronger than ever." Riley said.

"How do we break the spell?" Connor asked.

"We have to find the source of the spell." Troy said.

"We know who they are." Heckyl said.

"It's our friends." Riley replied.

"You mean the girls Imhotep took with him inside the pyramid?" Kira asked?

"Yes." Chase replied.

"Guys, look!" Phillip said as he point to the entrance the door was beginning to close.

"If that door closes we'll have no way of getting in there and Imhotep's wedding will be complete." James said.

"We have to go, now!" Tyler said. As he, Mr. Watkins, Keeper, Heckyl, and the rest of the Dino Charge group head to the pyramid while the Rangers had fended off Imhotep's improved and regenerated army. The Dino Charge Rangers had made their way up the stairs of the pyramid despite struggling with the vibration of the pyramid still rising from the ground. When all of them had made it to the top the door was nearly closing so they had all made a sprint for it.

"Hurry! We must get in there and stop Imhotep!" Keeper said. First Heckyl got in and was able to pull Keeper in to make sure he was in. Riley, James and Koda got in soon after them. Then it was followed by Chase and Phillip who had their hands out as the door was nearly closed. Mr. Watkins barely got in with the help of Chase and Phillip, but when Tyler tried diving to the door the door didn't have no room for Tyler to get in.

"No!"

Tyler had knelt down defeated realizing that it would be too late for him to save Shelby and his friends and could only wish on his friends' success to save them. However, when Tyler looked down, the door was not closed all the way, he noticed something holding the door from closing, a golden staff. When Tyler looked around he was able to see the Gold Zeo Ranger.

"What are you doing?"

"Quick the staff's not going to hold on much longer! Tell them to do something quick!"

"Mr. Watkins! Is there a spell in that book that let's you control gold? If there is you would need to hurry up!"

"I'm on it!"

Mr. Watkins quickly scrolled through the book and found a spell that expanded the gold part of Zeo Gold's Staff and allowed enough room to expand the door and allowed Tyler to get in.

"Thank you!" Tyler said.

"Take my staff. It might help you when stop Imhotep."

"Okay. And thanks again." Tyler said to Zeo Gold. As he looked to his friends with confidence.

"Let's finish this."

While the rangers outside face a stronger more durable set within Imhotep's army the Dino Charge rangers along with Keeper and Mr. Watkins stormed in they Pyramid of Horus making their way into the altar.
