I don't own these characters/historical figures. I don't even know how that would work.
A/N: this is my first venture into the Hamilton fandom. This story is the first part of a series starring Angelica and Maria. I hope you enjoy it.
Special thanks to my beta, TheCrowDawg. I hope you guys enjoy this and come say hi to me on Facebook. I'm also on Tumblr.

1: Every Part Aflame
A knock at the townhouse door was loud enough to make it to the front family room. It was surprising and irksome. Angelica was trying to get her things in order for her move back to New York and did not think she would be bothered at Eliza's house since no one knew she was there. She was not supposed to be there. No one was. Eliza took her break, upstate with the kids, and Angelica had planned to go until other things came up. Thankfully, she and Eliza convinced Alexander to go, which gave her the perfect excuse to stay behind. Somebody needed to watch the house for the summer and she had things being delivered there from London. It could be some of her things, but it was so late.
Angelica went to the steady, black front door and checked the security monitor to see who was there. A young woman she had never seen before stood on the steps, hands fidgeting as she waited. She had on alluring crimson lipstick and a red dress showing off her breasts.
Curious, Angelica opened the door, even though she did not feel she was dressed for the outside world with a pink tank top and linen pants. The young woman looked up and flinched, perfect curls falling over part of her face. Her big, doe eyes went wide and her painted red lips fell open for a moment. She was not expecting Angelica to answer the door. Alexander, I swear if there are any shenanigans at play here, you're dead. Right after I kill this girl.
"May I help you?" Angelica asked in a very polite tone. It took all of her self-control to keep her face from betraying her. Her expression always telegraphed her thoughts. No reason to be upset. This could be perfectly innocent.
The young woman opened her mouth to speak, but said nothing. Her brow wrinkled as her eyes fell to the floor, like she had to think of something. "I'm sorry to bother you. My name is Maria Reynolds. I was hoping to speak with Alexander Hamilton."
"He's not here right now," Angelica replied. Maria twisted her fingers, like she was full of nervous energy. Angelica took a breath to keep from craning an eyebrow or giving an intense stare. "Do you need legal help?" There might be a very rational explanation for the young woman's presence if she ever managed to get it out.
Maria glanced away, her face pinched. "I'm not sure. A friend recommended I come see Mister Hamilton."
And there went her eyebrow. "Well, why did that friend say so?" This still seems pretty sketchy. What's going on?
Maria took a breath. "After I mentioned my husband abandoned me."
Possibly a divorce then. All right, Alexander, you're safe for now. "I'm sorry to hear that. Are you looking for separation advice?" Angelica had plenty of that, especially considering the last few months of her life.
The young woman's face scrunched up and her eyes glistened. She would look cute if she was not so distressed. The red dress she had on was at odds with her behavior, though. It screamed seduction. Something did not add up here, which pulled Angelica in. Time to learn more.
"My name is Angelica Schuyler. Maybe I can help. I don't practice divorce law." Neither did Alexander, but that did not seem important right now. "But, maybe some advice. You can step inside if you want and tell me more of your predicament." Now, there was an option to leave and save face or travel further down the rabbit hole.
Maria messed with her fingers a little more and braved a whole new world by stepping into the townhouse. Curiouser and curiouser. Maria looked around the foyer and beyond, awe written on her face as Angelica closed the door behind her.
"So, if this isn't about a divorce, what is it about?" Angelica asked. It could not be about a divorce if Maria came in. Angelica let her know she did not practice divorce law and Alexander was not there.
Maria turned to Angelica and she could see the wheels spinning. Maybe she was making up a story or maybe she did not know where to begin. Angelica would listen to the story before she judged, but her instincts and warning bells were all going off.
"I'm sorry to bother you with this," Maria said and Angelica half-expected her to run from the entry. Instead, she continued. "My friend said Alexander Hamilton was a man of honor and I didn't mean to come to his home, but I didn't know where else to go. I just didn't know what else to do. I don't have anything since my husband left. Not that he was a great guy in the first place. He's always mistreated me. He's even beaten me. He might be off with another woman and he took all of my money. I don't have anything."
Angelica could not see why this would bring her to Alexander's door. She did not have to be top of her class to know this was a scheme. "I'm sorry to hear that. Are you sure you don't want a divorce?" That was honestly the only decent explanation for the visit and Maria refused to grasp at the lifeline Angelica kept throwing her. Looked like she would rather dig the hole.
Maria shook her head. "I don't know. I don't even know how I'm going to make rent without him. Or even how I'm going to eat in the next few days."
Again, what does any of this have to do with being at Alexander's house late at night? Angelica had to find out. "Well, I could give you some money." That seemed to be the goal, but why did she pick Alexander for this? She claimed she did not know him, but was comfortable enough with possibly asking him for money? I might still have to curse him out, if not for having seductresses show up in the middle of the night than obviously for handing out money too freely where any person with working knowledge of his home could come and ask for some.
Her eyes sparkled. "Are you sure? I'll pay you back!"
"I'm sure you will." She highly doubted it, but that would probably put an end to whatever this was. "Let me go get it." There had to be some cash lying around. She would pay Alexander and Eliza back. "Don't move."
Maria held her hands up. "Wouldn't dream of it."
Angelica stepped away in search of cash. It took no time. Eliza hid money in the same spots all the time, even when she was younger. She returned to Maria exactly where she left her. Angelica handed her roughly seven hundred dollars.
"Should I call you a car?" Angelica asked. Again, whatever helped end all of this sooner. She had to assume with money in hand Maria was ready to get out here and she could give Alexander a call to ask him about whatever this was.
Maria shook her head as she clutched the bills tightly in her fist. "No, I just live a block away."
"Really?" And there went Angelica's eyebrow, arched all the way up. That could explain her turning up at Alexander's door at such an odd hour. She might have been watching Alexander and knew he had money. It was still strange and could be a lie. Well, now I want to know more, damn it. "Then let me walk you home."
Maria shook her head with vigor. Her brown curls bouncing with each move. "That's not necessary."
Angelica held up her hand. "Oh, no. I insist. New York at night can be quite unforgiving." That was true and maybe if this was all innocent, she could count this as two good deeds for the day. It was always nice to help someone, especially a struggling young woman.
Maria bit the corner of her lip, managing to not ruin her perfect make-up. "All right."
Angelica opened the door and Maria was out in the humid summer night. Angelica slipped on her flats, grabbed a couple of things, locked up, and they were off, further down the rabbit hole as far as Angelica was concerned. This whole thing was well beyond outrageous at this point and she communicated with Alexander enough to know this was not in his norm. Well, now I can't even blame him for this nonsense. Maybe the start of it, but there's no way Eliza's letting him wander the streets with random people.
"So, what are you going to do about your missing husband? Has he done this before?" Angelica asked. Even the hook was weird.
Maria's wondrous hair went with the shake of her head as she started toward the end of the block. "Never for this long. A few days here and there, but never more than a week. I really don't know what to do."
Angelica fell into step right next to her. "Have you considered filing a missing persons report?" That was a good way to judge the severity of the situation.
Maria's face fell into quite the deadpan. She definitely looked like someone over a man's mess. "I would if I thought he was missing. But, considering the people he messes around with, he might be at the bottom of the Hudson or hiding out in Jersey."
Sounds like a real keeper. "All the more reason to file a report." Or move away very fast while she had the chance if the guy's as terrible as Maria claimed.
Maria shrugged. "Maybe if people start coming around looking for him. If no one asks me about him, then I assume they saw him."
Angelica's brow wrinkled as she took the information in. "But, they won't tell you if they saw him." They turned the corner and started up the street.
"Oh, no!" Maria held up one finger, from the hand not carefully clutching the money. As amazing as her dress was, it did not seem to have pockets. "They would know he's ducking me. They're his friends, not mine."
Angelica frowned. This part seems true. There are details, feelings, and she's not fidgeting as she talks. "And what about your friend who sent you to Alexander? Have they seen him?"
Maria was quiet for a second. She needed to sort something out in her head, which called her credibility into question once more. "I don't think they've seen him."
Weird answer. Most people would have filled in the gender of the friend, unless Maria knew non-binary or agender people, which was not unheard of. It was New York. But, still.
"This one's mine." Maria nodded toward an apartment building blending in with some townhouses.
"I'll walk you up." She needed to see what sort of place this was. It might help make sense of this whole matter, or confuse her further. But, she was in deep now. She needed to take this as far as possible.
Maria pursed her lips briefly and stared at her with doe eyes. "Are you sure?"
Angelica nodded. "I insist. I've come this far. Might as well make sure you make it to your front door."
"And you feel safe doing that?"
"I can take care of myself." Angelica had been in enough situations to have confidence in getting herself out of most situations. She carried mace and a knife. She had never had to use either, but she understood there was always a first time for everything.
Maria did not argue and keyed into the building. It was a five story walkup. Maybe the building was historic, as that was a working excuse to not update things around the city. It was decorated in tans and browns and smelled slightly of a bleach, like someone had recently cleaned. It did not match the finery of Maria's dress, leaving Angelica to guess Maria showed up looking as she did on the Hamilton doorstep on purpose. Once again, this had all the airs of a scheme. And then they got to 5H and Angelica had to pause in her thinking. Maria let out a long breath.
"Well, we made it to the door," Maria said.
"That we did." Angelica wanted to see her put her key in the lock to confirm at least some part of this odyssey.
Maria let loose a weird laugh. "Yeah, so thanks for everything."
"No problem."
Maria glanced at the door. "Would you want to come in for a sec? I don't have much, but I could at least make you something as thanks. Maybe some tea or coffee or something?"
Angelica had already come this far and she did not have anything better to do. "Sure. Why not? I'll take some tea. It's a bit late for coffee."
Maria nodded as she finally put the key in the lock and opened the door. "Excuse the mess." She stepped inside and turned on the light.
Angelica stepped inside and did her very best not to make a face, as she was all too aware that her expressions telecasted her thoughts. The place was tiny. Somehow, they were in both the living room and kitchen from simply entering the apartment. It was probably bigger back when the building was first constructed, but at some point, someone got the brilliant idea to cut the apartment sizes, put up new walls, and make smaller apartments to have more rent money. On the plus side, there was no mess Angelica could see. Her husband had been gone long enough for Maria to clean. Unless, of course, there was no husband.
"I'll put the tea on in a second. I just want to put the money away. It'll be nice to be able to pay the rent," Maria said, almost giddy. Maybe she did just need help. Of course, seven hundred dollars did not cover the rent in a Manhattan apartment, even if it was the size of a shoebox.
Angelica nodded. "All right."
Maria went into a door directly across the room. Probably the bedroom. Angelica focused on the living room. Despite the small space, everything looked quite expensive. A three-seat leather couch and opposite sat a television that was as large as the wall itself with gaming consoles set neatly underneath. On the wall by the bedroom was definitely a piece done by Kehinde Wiley. It could be a copy, so she stepped closer to see. Upon closer inspection, it appeared authentic. She did not recognize the subject, though. She did not get a chance to think too much on it as the bedroom door opened.
Angelica expected Maria to step out, but that did not happen. Angelica moved to see into the bedroom and there was Maria, sitting on her bed in crimson lingerie, somehow leaving nothing and everything to the imagination. Her hair had fallen over her face, covering one eye and somehow calling attention to painted scarlet lips. She spread her legs in invitation.
"Hey," Maria said.
Angelica found herself rooted to her spot. "Hey." Flee!
Maria must have sensed Angelica was about to run. She was up and holding Angelica by the wrist. "Stay."
And before Angelica could process the absurdity of it all, Maria's mouth was on hers. Angelica was very aware she should push Maria away, she should say no, and she should get the hell out of there. Only problem was, her brain fizzled out for a long moment.
There was something overwhelming pleasant about Maria's kiss. It flooded her, overflowed, and left Angelica with nothing more than the feeling. Once her brain restarted, Angelica had one of those multi-layered revelations that left her too stunned to move.
One: the kiss was delightful, just in the way kisses should be. In a way she heard kisses should be, anyway. They had never been that way for her. She tried to blame her loveless marriage and cold fish of a husband, but maybe that was not it. After all, he was not the only man she had ever kissed. Every single kiss she had experienced before this one was lackluster, lukewarm while this one was fireworks, bright and brilliant.
Two: Maria's lips were soft and delicious. There was no rough stubble to worry over or an attempt to dominate Angelica's mouth. Maria's mouth felt perfect against Angelica's and her lips moved at just the right pace, as if dancing with Angelica and it was like they were made to be there. Those lips sent not sparks, but lightning through Angelica. It was like the planets had aligned and endowed Maria with their powers to touch something inside of Angelica that she never knew existed, bringing some dormant emotion to life.
Three: this was a hard one. Something she had been avoiding her entire life. Something she thought meeting Alexander disproved, except his presence all but solidified it. She was not sexually attracted to Alexander and never had been. He was her platonic soulmate. She had never been attracted to any man. Angelica was gay as hell.
When the kiss broke, Angelica whined in disappointment and struggled to stay on her feet as her legs were weak. She never wanted it to end. Her body was ablaze thanks to one kiss. Okay, my body has never been aflame until now. She had no idea she could feel this way. It was new, scary, and wonderful.
Maria looked at her with shy eyes. The vixen. "Stay?"
Angelica could not leave if she wanted to, so she nodded and Maria was on her again. This kiss, bolder than the last, caused a hunger in Angelica she had not experienced in all of her years of life, gave her an itch she would have never thought possible, and she craved and craved and craved. How had she denied herself this? Why had she denied herself? This is why you were never satisfied.

Angelica had allowed herself to feel the greatest thing ever and did not analyze her actions for perhaps the only time in her life. It was not until they were curled up naked in bed with Maria resting against her chest that she even dared to allow her brain to turn back on. She gave herself a moment to enjoy the warmth of Maria's body, the feel of their flesh pressed together. Somehow, this all felt so right. There was a calmness in her that she had never experienced before, especially after sex. But, this should not have happened.
Not just the random sex with a stranger. Angelica never should have opened this Pandora's box. She needed to put the toothpaste back in the tube. There was no way her father would accept this part of her. Their relationship was strained enough. This would break family bonds. There was no way Angelica could do that, not to her father, not to her sisters, but especially not to herself. She needed her family like she needed air.
"That was good," Maria said, kissing Angelica's collarbone.
"I'm sure your husband would disagree." Of course, if the man existed. You walked into a honey pot, under the guise of righteous indignation for Alexander and intrigue.
"Yes, but this wouldn't have happened if he were here, so his opinion doesn't count." Could not argue that logic.
"True, but this can't happen again." This shouldn't have happened in the first place. I can't even begin to figure out how I allowed this to happen.
Maria looked at her. Angelica could drown in those eyes and she would not care. Okay, maybe I can begin to figure out how I allowed this to happen. Maria clutched her around the waist.
"Why can't this happen again? This was amazing," Maria said. It really was. It was life changing, in more ways than one. Unfortunately, the bad outweighed the good.
"You're married," Angelica replied.
"True, but we could still be friends."
"I'm not sure that's the best idea." Temptation would be too great. Not to mention, she was almost certain Maria meant "friends with benefits" and possibly someway to con her further, so the offer was definitely worth a hard no.
Maria pouted and it was the most pitiful thing Angelica had ever seen. It made her want to kiss the expression away. "Why not? A new friend might be just the distraction I need from being abandoned."
Angelica arched an eyebrow. "Just a friend?" No, no, no. You know that's not what she means and even if it is, you've tasted the forbidden fruit. There's no way in Hell you're going to be able to handle this.
"Believe it or not, I don't sleep with friends, so we should be fine."
Angelica had no intention of finding out if that was true or not. It might not matter. Angelica had barely known Maria for an hour and Maria had gotten through a wall Angelica had firmly ignored for almost thirty years. This was too dangerous for her.
"I'm not sure I have the time for new friends," Angelica said. It was not exactly a lie.
Maria smiled, as if she had not heard Angelica. "Besides, I have to pay back your loan."
"You don't have to." Angelica had not expected the money back and really seven hundred dollars was nothing to her.
"You're sweet, but I will."
Angelica did not argue. "I have to go."
"Already?" There was that pout again. It tugged at Angelica's heart (and other parts of her), but she refused to give into the urge that threatened to consume her.
"Yes. Business to tend to." It was not a lie. Angelica had been in the middle of apartment hunting.
"This late?"
"Thanks to the internet, I can tend to this business late, but it has to be done as soon as possible." She could not live with Eliza, Alexander, and the kids and they would be back by the end of the summer.
Maria seemed to understand and moved to let Angelica get out of bed. She was silent as Angelica put her clothes back on. Once Angelica was in most of her things, Maria grabbed a robe and walked her to the door, despite how awkward it was. For a moment, they stood at the door, not sure what to do, staring at each other with hopes an answer would appear before them.
Angelica would have loved to kiss Maria goodbye, which let her know how fast she needed to get out of there. She barely muttered a farewell before running out of the door. How could I do this? The scream in her head was so savage, it gave her a headache.
-8-8-8-8-
Angelica paced the living room as she Face-timed with Eliza and her family. The space was filled with brilliant orange hues as the sun set at her back, pouring in through the large windows. Eliza looked happy with a twinkle in her eyes that had appeared when they convinced Alexander to join her upstate. Does he know how fortunate he is or will he still never be satisfied? She doubted he would ever be satisfied in life, but it did not matter as long as he appreciated, honored, and loved Eliza. He could struggle with his eternal hunger in other ways.
"How's it going over there?" Angelica asked, wanting to take it easy and just have a conversation with her sister.
Eliza smiled. "It's going great. We both needed the change in scenery. Alexander's working, as usual, but at a tolerable level."
Angelica scoffed. "I'd have to see it to believe it. He swears the second he takes a breath Jefferson will bury him and he'll get fired."
Eliza laughed as she seemed to park herself under a tree. The children played in the background. Their laughter mixed with their mother's. "You know more about it than I do."
Angelica could not help rolling her eyes. "It's all he talks about now. You're lucky he has me to vent to or you'd hear about it nonstop. He's so dramatic about it, too."
"He wouldn't be Alexander if he wasn't dramatic."
Angelica chuckled. "No, you're quite right. But, that's why we love him."
Eliza glanced away, but her smile and blush said it all. "How's the apartment hunting going?"
"Fairly well. I'll send you the links for my top ten. They're all nearby." That was one of Eliza's biggest stipulations when she let Angelica stay at her home after the disaster that was London. If Angelica was going to move back to New York, she needed to live close and visit often. Angelica had no problem with giving into those things. It had been insane for her to think she could live across an ocean from her sisters.
Eliza giggled in that sweet, giddy way she did when happy. "We'll all be close again. You being in London was the worst."
"It was no picnic for me either."
"Saying that, Daddy's doing all of his greatest hits about John."
"Is he?" She might as well use that opening. "Did you tell him about the divorce?"
"He's drinking the wine he saved for your wedding, but never gave you since you eloped. He asked me why you weren't here, even though this gathering was planned weeks in advance. Once I told him you were waiting for your things from London, it all tumbled out from there."
Angelica could only imagine what it would have been like had she gone upstate as she had originally planned, wanting to spend time with her sisters and her niece and nephew as well as Alexander. She would have endured the month long lecture she knew her father was holding in if it meant seeing them, but she needed to meet her things from London and organize. She needed to keep busy right now to avoid focusing on how ridiculous she had been for eloping with John and moving to London with him.
"And he blames John for the divorce?" Angelica asked.
Eliza scoffed. "Daddy would blame John for rain, so yes. He said the only way the wine would be better was if you were there to share it with him."
Angelica sucked her teeth. "So he could say 'I told you so' a million times?" And it would be a million if she was lucky.
"He's going to tell you regardless."
Angelica shook her head. "There's no pleasing that man. I married rich and gained political standing and he's still not happy."
"I think listening to him and not going off on grand adventures would please him greatly, but then you'd stop being you."
"Which would also please him greatly."
Eliza, ever the peacekeeper, changed subjects. "Did any of your things arrive yet?"
"That was a brutal transition, but yes. I'm about to order some food and go through the boxes." Angelica eyed the packages in the living room. It was more than she expected, but that was fine. It just meant she could get situated sooner rather than later. She might be living comfortable in her own home before Eliza and her family return.
Eliza smiled. "I've never pretended to be subtle. Eat. Take care of your things. We'll talk again tomorrow."
"Yes. Tell Alexander to spend time with you before I make him regret it."
"I will definitely tell him."
"And give the kids plenty of messy kisses from me. Philip especially."
"Oh, they will be the messiest. Philip will be complaining for weeks. I promise."
"And hug my namesake extra-tight, so she knows I didn't forget her."
"Oh, I bend her adorable little spine out of whack for you. Goodnight."
"Goodnight."
They ended the call and Angelica ordered dinner. Dinner arrived as she rummaged through a box. Going through boxes was paused due to food and she set herself up on the living room coffee table. Before she got a chance to dig in, the doorbell rang. Angelica was not expecting anyone, but considered the delivery person might have forgotten to give her something, even though everything appeared to be there. To her surprise, Maria Reynolds was at the door again.
Angelica opened the door. "Maria, is everything all right?"
Maria stepped inside. "Everything is great!" A bright smile suggested that was true. She was dressed in a less than provocative manner this time, a plain white t-shirt and jeans. But, she still had on the same damn alluring lipstick.
"So, your husband came back?" Angelica hoped that was the case. Somehow, even an absent husband could be a buffer between them.
"What?" Maria's forehead wrinkled and she squinted, as if confused. "No. Still no idea where that jackass is, but I got a job!" There was a chirp in her voice.
Angelica could not help smiling at Maria's enthusiasm. "That's excellent."
"Yeah. It's just a maid service, but the tips are really good and that's why I'm here!" Maria stared at her with bright eyes as Angelica shut the door.
"You wanted to tell me you got a job?" Angelica stepped to the side, inviting Maria deeper into the house.
Maria shook her head as she came into the foyer. "No, no, no! I wanted to start paying you back."
It was Angelica's turn to be baffled and her eyebrows knitted close together. "Pay me back?"
"Yeah. I don't have all seven hundred," she said and she glanced away as if she was embarrassed. Her eyes happened to land in the living room. "Oh! I'm sorry. I've interrupted your dinner."
With a scoff, Angelica waved that off. "It's all right. Have you eaten? Do you want some?" Angelica moved to the living room. Maria followed her. The spread was not much, but she could and would make it work for two if Maria wanted.
"No, thanks. I'm not hungry." Of course, her stomach rumbled at that point.
Angelica snickered. "You might not be, but your stomach is." Angelica motioned to the sofa. "Sit down. I'll get an extra plate and glass. Do you drink wine?"
Maria sat down. "Not usually, but I'm open to trying it."
Angelica retrieved a plate and a glass. She poured Maria some wine and passed her the glass. Maria smiled her thanks. Angelica spooned shrimp, noodles, and vegetables from her dinner bowl onto the plate. She eased the plate in Maria's direction.
"You're looking for an apartment?" Maria asked.
Angelica blinked. "Excuse me?" And her hackles were up.
"On the computer." Maria nodded to the open laptop, which was on the coffee table with them.
"Oh." Angelica breathed a sigh of relief as her body relaxed. "Yes. I'm in the process of moving back to New York."
"Where have you been living?" Maria asked before tasting her food. She made a cute noise that Angelica had heard before and had tried to forget about. The way her eyes lit up did not help. "This is so good!"
Angelica had to swallow and will her body to remain calm as she answered the question. "London."
Maria blinked. "Oh, wow. You didn't like London?"
"No, London itself is amazing. It's good for someone who's used to the bustle of New York, but it just didn't work out." She and John just did not work out. And the main reason why tore at her soul as she stared at the revelation of why.
Maria's expression was like pure sunshine as she ate more and nodded. "I'd like to visit sometime. Be a tourist someplace."
"Travel is nice. It's a shame not everyone has the chance to do it."
Maria nodded again and focused on her food. Angelica dug in as well and they enjoyed a comfortable silence for a couple of minutes.
"What restaurant is this from? It's so good," Maria said.
"It's one of my favorites," Angelica replied. "I think I have the brochure."
"You could air drop me the link."
"I could." Angelica supposed that was harmless enough. She opened her phone and air dropped the restaurant website to Maria's phone.
"Can I see the apartments you're looking at? Maybe a second opinion would help."
That did not seem like a bad idea. Angelica put the laptop between them. So, they ate and slowly went through the condos. Soon, the food was done and Angelica topped off both of their wine glasses.
"You have a great eye," Angelica said. Maria had been a big help in looking through the condos and helping her narrow down her list. The top ten was now the top five.
Maria smiled. "I've just lived in enough shitty places to know what to look for."
"You're a great help."
"Yeah?" Maria turned her head and they locked eyes.
Angelica had not realized how close they were until now. Her eyes shifted down to Maria's lips. That lipstick beckoned her and Angelica could not resist. She needed to feel those lips once more. She leaned, giving Maria enough time to move if she desired to do so. Maria met her halfway.
Maria's lips were as sweet and soft as they had been before. Angelica cupped Maria's cheek and Maria's tongue lapped at her lips. Angelica found herself unable to deny Miss Maria Reynolds anything and let her tongue ease into Angelica's mouth. It was bliss.
They made out like two teenagers. Maria straddled her lap and Angelica could hardly consider how sexy that was as Maria kissed her breath away. Angelica had her hands on Maria's thighs and longed to feel warm flesh instead of the fabric of her jeans. And then Maria pulled away. Angelica mourned the loss of her mouth.
"Hey," Maria said.
"Hey," Angelica replied, certain she had a goofy, Alexanderesque smile on her face.
"I know what you said before, but…" She bit her lip, looking coy.
Angelica really should say no. It was right on the tip of her tongue, but Maria was also on the tip of her tongue. How was she supposed to say no after having a taste? She would never be satisfied.

Next time: the effect of this decision.
